There was a poem in that movie too read and composed by Kate.

10 Things I Hate About You

I hate the way you talk to me
And the way you cut your hair
I hate the way you drive my car
I hate it when you stare

I hate your big dumb combat boots
And the way you read my mind
I hate you so much that it makes me sick
It even makes me rhyme

I hate the way you’re always right
I hate it when you lie
I hate it when you make me laugh
Even worse when you make me cry

I hate the way you’re not around
And the fact that you didn’t call
But mostly I hate the way I don’t hate you
Not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all.

hahaha. Insightful poetry, isn’t it?

Well, I’m going to list down the ten (and more) things we hate about MinHo.

I know that we’re bashing a character here. (ooooh!!!!! Call the mods! We’re bashing characters!!!) But all’s fair in love and war.

Feel free to include more. I’ll start with two for now. Edited to add 1 more. Edited again to add another one (now, we’ve 4 on the list).

1. When he rejected her on such a beautiful spring day. There’s a superstition involving cherry blossoms. When a couple walks together as the cherry blossoms fall, they’ll be together forever… or something like that.

2. When he popped that balloon.

3. When his conceit knows no bounds. Served him right that she gave a copy of the book to Dr. Ye instead.

Edited 4/16/18 to add 1 more.

4. When he tripped her.

The only upside to this is that he realized that he was wrong to get in her way (literally). BoYoung told him off nicely that she wasn’t expecting help from him but she didn’t want him interfering either. He apologized nicely for his behavior later in the episode, and admitting to himself that whatever she did, she’d always look good to him.

  1. I love the poem in the drama.. Can you share more of it in a translated english form for each episode? I really appreciate it..

  2. Hey there, sumei6462. What do you mean? Do you want me to analyze each poem featured in the episodes? I just highlight the special poems. 🙂

If you just want the poems translated, I think you can go to tumblr and you’ll find the poems there.
Or dramabeans might have them in the recap. Or the blogsite ahjummanshies something.

I’ll try to include the poems next time. I noticed however that there’s one poem that the script uses as a major THEME and that’s what I’ve been using as a “guide” to understand the development of the episode. But that’s just me. And that’s just my style. lol.

BTW, I’m not Korean. I’m not even Asian. 🙂 So I can’t interpret poems from a Korean context or Asian context. But we’re all humans and so I do interpret what I see from a HUMAN perspective.

… and from a BITCH perspective, of course. hahaha
