1 – It’s a big deal to say that he has a woman that he loves. Confirming what he said to his Mom that he wants to be happy for the first time.
I’ll have to keep count of the number of times he’s said, “my person” or “my woman.” What do we have now? Four? To the ex-boyfriend, to his dad, and now to Wannabe? And to her BFF, too. Didn’t he call her “ai-en” then?
I asked my son’s GF (she’s Korean-American) and she said it means “sweetheart.”
2 – I wish he did the voice over for his letter. Oh he said he promised to go to her shoot. I wonder if they will have that in the show. I can have that breakfast 😂
What? You can eat that, too? What do you have living in stomach? A billy goat?
This is all I could eat for breakfast most days, croissant and coffee. Juice is already extra. lol.
I did wonder about that shoot. I hope he can have a cameo in her shoot.
3 – I still want to figure out what M and M means 😁

4 – You’d think WH is a 17 year old boy whose suffering from not seeing his girlfriend 😁
That little head nod he made when the Sister-in-law was commiserating with him was too funny. I think they were ad-libbing here too. It seemed to me that CJM was trying to control his laughter when the actor StepHyung was talking about their elopement.
Ah! That’s what this beach trip reminded me of. An elopement.
5 – Hooray for love letters!
Yes, we’re missing a love letter in Episode 10 but that’s okay. This one can tide us over till this week’s episode. I dislike effusive love letters and this one hit the right notes. It mentioned missing her and thinking of her, told her to take care of herself, and it ended with a plan for a future beach trip. It shared his feelings and his intentions for her.
But I like how YJ hugged the note to herself. That was cute. She couldn’t hug him so hugging his letter was the next best thing.
6 – I love their smile of excitement! It makes me smile too! 😊 CJM is most handsome when he smiles 😍

7 – First the chair, now pretty clothes per YJ ☺️
It would have been too funny if his taste didn’t match hers. But his outfit that day was fuddy-duddy. Burgundy golf shirt and khahi pants. He didn’t even tuck his shirt in. Hey!!! Where’s CJM’s wardrobe assistant?
So far, I give YEH’s wardrobe assistant two-thumbs up!
8 – I like their big smile in the car while they were driving on the way to the beach. 😍 I was giddy!
I was grinning, too. I couldn’t help it. That’s how dating should look like.
9 – He wouldn’t pick up that little girls hanbok if he didn’t think of having a family. 😊
And the sweet part is he’s thinking of a GIRL instead of a boy. Okay, femi-nazists will kill me for this archaic notion but… (shrugs) I think men view sons as their “legacy” but they see daughters as their “princess,” a daddy’s girl, and their wives’ “little mini-me”.
That’s why I wasn’t surprised when he said that evening that he would treat her like a “Queen” the following morning. He would escort her like she was royalty. It fits with the concept that he wanted to spoil girls. lol.
10 – WH thought that YJ Grandma will be more elegant and charming. He’s thought that far ahead already.
I love YJ’s reaction here. To me, this is one of those standard compliments that a man must say when a woman complains of her getting old (cough, cough, like me) but he said it so prettily.
11 – I like that she teased him with her food. Did he not like that chilli though? I thought he likes hot food when I saw that Viki interview that he did with YEH 😊
I think it’s because he wasn’t expecting it to be spicy. She probably tricked him into thinking that it was bland. Not sure….
I like the scene with the airgun, too. That’s a trope. YJ accidentally swings the gun and points it to him and he gets scared that he’ll get shot. I like the sound of CJM’s laughter but I really like how natural YEH did it. With other actresses, I can see that their innocence is a put-up job.
12 – I love that she’s handsy and he’s a huggy person. Oh my backhug please come tomorrow! 🤞🏻
Ohhh… yeah, right! We haven’t had our backhug yet. They were all front hugs! I want a forehead kiss, too.
13 – It’s unforgettable watching the sunset together especially with the one you love.
Yes, sunsets at the beach makes all that sand in your swimsuit worthwhile.
14 – How did you know they weren’t going to use the blanket? 😁 I thought it was good that YJ said to WH outright that it’s fine. I would be upset too if we don’t share a room. I’m grateful for the show for still showing that respect when it comes to two people sharing a room.
I like this about kdramas. You put a man and a woman in an enclosed space like this and they talk about their relationship all night. They’re taking it slow.
In Hollywood dramas, you put a man and a woman in an enclosed space and all hell breaks loose. They’re disrobing each other; they become octopuses with eight arms going all around the place; they’re sucking each other’s faces. Ugh. Terrible!
15 – I’d rather the angst be more with Choego Group than with YJ’s Dad. I want to see a scene where her Dad asks WH something like – do you think I like you that much for my daughter just because we’re close? 😂
ahahahaha. That would be too funny. The dad rejecting him when he comes to ask for his daughter’s hand in marriage.
16 – She really was ready to give up everything with that ring.
And her little poke that she got him the ring. She always does this. She’s not afraid to “level up” in their relationship. Remember that scene when they were pretending to date and they were supposed to hold hands? In Episode 4 at 47:00.
She told him that they were supposed to hold hands but he went for one measly finger-holding instead. She smiled at him and her hand looked like it wanted to move to clasp his hold instead. Then she glanced at him again with this look on her face like “Uhhhh…This isn’t hand-holding? Where’s the hand??”
Just then they met another walker and she pretended to trip so SHE could grab hold of his arm.
He looked surprised and she explained, “Do you want us to break up as soon as we became a couple in the public eyes? Smile.”
See? She was the one who leveled up for them but she did it in such a subtly way that he didn’t feel pressured.
Same thing with the ring. She wanted him to “put a ring on it” (as Beyonce would say). Instead of pressuring him, she brought her mother’s rings instead.
And he appreciated it.
Seriously, MOVING the relationship forward is a burden on men that many of them wouldn’t mind sharing with women. Why are they always expected to take the lead? It’s more fun if progress is played both ways.
17 – I’m blaming it on the PD for that kiss. We should have at least 10 seconds worth of kiss because come on! We just had a wedding 😂
I thought that was a sweet kiss, though.
I told tsutsuloo, I love it when humor is used to transition or bridge a non-kissing moment to a kissing moment. I love it because it meant that there was a kindred spirit, companionship before the kiss. I really hate hate kisses done in anger or revenge or attack.

I grin every time Woo-Hyun says my person/my woman. The first time he says it, it’s performative but each passing utterance reflects her increasing importance to him. Here’s another: “If I can stop my person from being hurt because of me, then I’ll do anything.” (Woo-Hyung to lawyer Seong Ho, Ep. 10 at 46:48)
I agree that the letters are best when we hear the author’s voice. I lurve Chung Jung Myung’s voice. Love it. Ep. 10’s (maternal) love letter was from WH’s Mom (16:50) telling her son she agreed “in his stead” to put him into the Cha family register, “to give him roots.” (Yeesh, I guess Kang did exert a little bit of influence after all.)
Aigoo, I suspect my love for this series is sparked by the oxytocin I release every time Woo-Hyun and Yoo-Jung grin at one another. Every! Time!
packmule3’s Ep. 6 clapback to the haters was the catharsis I needed after scanning the harsh commentary at the show’s launch. But I’m still disheartened by observers criticizing Yoon Eun Hye for aging. That’s right. She aged. [insert favorite curse word here]. The culture’s veneration of youth is leading to planet-wide body dysmorphia. Do these people have clue what actual 34-year-olds looks like?
I think Ep. 9’s beach conversation. about being a “charming grandmother” deserves a little bit of attention. Outside of being a lovely romance, Fluttering Alert also serves up commentary on the entertainment industry and its mercurial fans. Before she directly asks WH if he’ll still love if she has nothing, Yoo-Jung reflects on the future of her career:
Yoo-Jung: I’ll have to wane one day too. I wonder if I can do it beautifully like the sunset.
Woo-Hyun: Why do you think you have to wane? You can just rise as the sun in the day and rise as the moon at night.
Yoo-Jung: Just that I can’t be the twenty or thirty-something Yoon You-Jeong forever. Someday, as someone’s mom? Someone’s grandma? It’s a bit scary and dreadful.
Woo-Hyun: Grandma Yoon You Jeong would be more elegant and charming. I think.
Yoo-Jung: Aigoo, Woo Hyeon, you are such a charmer.

Yoo-Jung: I think a grandma is a no.
We know from YJ’s conversation with her ex-boyfriend that she wants to marry and have a family. But in this context, she’s describing the reality of her profession where female actors are regulated to Mom roles after they hit a certain age. K-dramas are not unique in aging actresses up. Radio Romance (2018) cast a baby-faced 19-year-old actress opposite an actor a decade older—and they’re both supposed to be nearly 30!)
WH is sweet and very correct when he assures YJ she’ll be an “elegant and charming grandma” but it doesn’t change the facts of her industry. In fact, the show itself is guilty of this practice. Kim Ye Ryung’s casting as Woo-Hyun’s mother is typical. The actress is 49, only 11 years older than Chung Jung Myung, the 38-year-old actor playing her 32-year-old son. (The other actors playing parents are about 28-32 yrs. older than their on-screen children.)

True YJ got lectured but that’s because she wasn’t outright honest about it. Not that she wanted to hide it for a long time. Unnie knew the difference too between WH and the ex. YJ was getting lectured because she was blind in not seeing the bad side of the ex but this time Unnie knew that WH is different. Though she was still asking YJ to break it off with WH.
Yes, in episode 1, her Unnie told her, “Dating and marrying, you’ll have to do it in time when you need meet someone GOOD. It’s not Hwang JaeMin you like. You want to date.”
Sounds familiar, right? The YJ’s dad said the same to WH.
Only WH’s dad had a warped sense of marriage as a business merger. I hope he sees reason, though.

Texting and driving is a no-no but some car models are already equipped with a dictation-capable mechanism. (I don’t know what you call it really.) For instance, I can receive and send text while driving. My car will announce the text sender and then read the text out loud to me. Then my car will ask me if I wanted to reply. If I say yes, all I have to do is dictate my “text” and my car will text it for me.
All this is done without me removing my hands from the wheel or taking my eyes off the road. 🙂
I think there’s also a way to hook up my blog to my car so I can read YOUR incoming comments. pwahahaha. I’ll have to warn you to be careful with what you’re writing to me. NOOOO perverted ideas please because I don’t want my car to read them aloud. I don’t want to crash because I’m laughing at your jokes.

The cars that are being driven by WH, YH and BFF should have this texting/messaging ability. YH drives a Porsche, WH drove a BMW during that beach trip, and BFF drove an Audi. They don’t need that ugly earpiece when they drive.
Come to think of it, WH and YH didn’t need those earpieces in that episode when he read her the poem. If they had one of those Amazon Alexas or Echo Dots, then they could call and speak from anywhere in their house.
