Love O2O: Episode 10 Swoon Moments

I’m leapfrogging 🐸 to Episode 10 because I kept passing out while watching this episode. So, while the show is still fresh in my mind and doesn’t require rewatching (and swooning), I’ll review it.

Here are the highlights:

1. Clothes Shopping.

We begin where we left: Weiwei buys new clothes for her first meeting with her online husband, Yuxiao Naihe. With girlfriends in tow (I love their camaraderie!), she first tries on this cherry red dress with a daringly, plunging neckline. She’s embarrassed and asked for a more “conservative” outfit: a sweet ensemble of white blouse and blue floral skirt.

I thought that was a smart move. Look: she didn’t know a thing about this individual except that he’s Yuxiao Naihe online. Why would she wear a provocative outfit like that? What if Yuxiao Naihe was an underage kid pretending to be in college kid? Or a housewife pretending to be a man?

Yah! A girl is more than a cleavage so why call attention to it in an outfit?

As it turned out, her choice of white, long-sleeved, chiffon blouse matched Xiao Nai’s white, long-sleeved, starched-cotton shirt. They were both buttoned-up, too. Cute! They were wearing couple outfits on their first date, and it wasn’t planned at all.

2. The Meeting.

The next day she finished her exams early and rushed off to the meeting place at the East Gate. This is funny because, in the previous episode, she told him that she had exams but she’d be free after 11:30. Xiao Nai suggested meeting each other at noon but she promptly texted, “Let’s do 11:35 so we don’t have to wait for half an hour.” lol. She realized too late that she revealed how eager she was to meet him.

Despite that realization, she turned in her exam even earlier at 11:10am and smiled all the way to the East Gate, holding Yuxiao Naihe’s phone number like a talisman. She arrived early of course so she lingered around a bridge only to spot that legendary BMOC (or Big Man on Campus), Xiao Nai, waiting at the bottom of the bridge, under a willow tree.

lol. Of course, to us viewers, the visuals are obvious. This is supposed to duplicate their first meeting in the game. She had been standing on the bridge, too, when Yuxiao Naihe called her name from the bottom of the bridge.

This time around Xiao Nai just stared at her. She had one of her inner monologues, “It is Xiao Nai! What’s he doing here? He seems to be waiting for someone, too. Who could be so lucky? Who’d Master Xiao wait for? How come he looks familiar? It must be an illusion.”

lol. Girl!! He looks familiar because you’ve played this game before.

She continued, “Why does he keep looking at him? Maybe Lord Xiao Nai knows I’m a computer major? Is that why he’s looking at me? That makes more sense.”

Meanwhile, that Xiao Nai continued staring at her. I know he couldn’t call out her name because he supposedly didn’t know her. But couldn’t he at least smile at her? He sat down on the railing and gazed up at her. He looked like an avatar whose gamer temporarily moved away from the laptop. It was clear that he was waiting for her to make the first move.

She debated with herself, “Should I go say hi? We’re in the same department after all? But would he take that as a come-on?” And she walked down to greet him.

WW said, “Mr. Xiao? What a coincidence.”

He just stared at her. Internally, she was regretting her decision already. She thought, “I’m so jittery. I should’ve just walked over. What a terrible line! Now it’s so awkward.”

Silently, he stood up and walked passed her without acknowledging her. She closed her eyes in mortification. But from behind her, he spoke, “It’s not a coincidence. I’m waiting for you.”

Dumbass. Couldn’t he have said so earlier?

WW: Me?

Again, he stared at her again and gave her silent treatment. Okay, is he simulating his laptop buffering?? If I were Weiwei, I’d be suffering every time he “buffered.”

WW: Naihe?
XN: … It’s me….

Of course, she gasped. (That’s obligatory in kdramas and, I guess, in c-dramas, too.) She began processing this new information, “I’m so glad I didn’t buy the stiletto heels. I’m so shocked now, I would’ve broken the heels. Naihe = Xiao Nai. Xiao Nai = Naihe. How did Naihe turn out to be Xiao Nai?”

Fortunately, before her brains overheated, he interrupted her thoughts. I liked that he mentioned waiting. This should have told her that he was indeed Naihe because Naihe stood her up in the championship. But it didn’t connect with her….

XN: You finished the exam early? I almost made you wait again.
WW: You mean the finals? It’s fine.

But she was still questioning, “Is he really Naihe?”

XN: Come on. Let’s eat.

He turned to go but she hesitated. Processing. Processing. “Will another Naihe show up here later? If Xaio Nai is indeed Naihe, isn’t this all too unreal?”

He must have sensed her reluctance to follow him, because he stopped and finally owned up.

XN: Weiwei?
WW: Hmmm? (still lost in thought, processing.)
XN: Do you eat fish?
WW: Weiwei??

lol. When she realized that he called her by name, she accepted that he and Naihe were one and the same person.

He just smiled and walked. She followed, too.

3. The Lunch Date

4. The Bike Ride, part 1

Xiao Nai picked up his bike from home so they could ride back to the campus gym. From afar, with the hedges hiding the bike, he looked like a warrior on horseback.

She sighed like a fangirl, “Woww. He doesn’t only look handsome on horseback, he’s handsome on a bicycle, too.”

lol. And we see him pulling up with one hand on the handlebar. pwahahaha.

What’s up with this one-hand biking/driving? Before I started watching kdramas and “We Got Married,” it never entered my head to swoon at guys driving with one hand.

Anyway, she hesitated riding on his bike because onlookers might misunderstand their relationship.

XN: Get on. (Yup. He’s like Mr. Darcy alright. Barking orders like that.)
WW: Wait, this…You’re taking me?
XN: Are you going to walk? It’s far.
WW: You’re taking me to the basketball gym? It’s…It’s probably not the best idea, though? People would misread the situation.
WW: Misread?
XN: They’d think we’re in that kind of a relationship.

And she made this cute heart sign with her hands to mean a “romantic relationship.”

XN: Since when aren’t we in that kind of a relationship?

Air. I need air. No, wait, I need smelling salts.

He was telling her, in a roundabout way, that they WERE indeed in that romantic relationship. They were dating. Outsiders and bystanders could think that they were in a romantic relationship but they wouldn’t be mistaken.

Lol. If this scenario happened in real life, that was the kind of statement that would cause a young girl to question whether her dream just came true OR she died and went to heaven. Either way, it couldn’t be happening to her!

But the other ROMANTIC thing about this comment is that he’d done this before. In Episode 7. When they were playing the Couple Game online.

Back then, they had completed the mission and won two giant birds as their flying steads. He found out that she’d quit her membership in her guild and he approved of it. “That’s good. From now on, we’ll be together.” She smiled and replied, “We’ll brave this world together, like a pair of wild mandarin ducks.”

Well, mandarin ducks are supposed to be symbols of love and fidelity in marriage because the pair of them will stay together for the rest of their life. If one of them dies, the surviving duck is said to lose its willpower to live and die soon.

When Weiwei likened themselves to a pair of wild mandarin ducks, he protested, “Wild mandarin ducks? I remember we were formally married.” The emphasis here is on “wild.” He was reminding her that they didn’t do their marriage haphazardly, quickly and without preparation. Remember? She chided him for lacking a sense of humor. And he whispered in her ear, “Marital status is important.”

That’s why I think this bike moment is swoon-worthy. He was telling her that, from the very beginning, he regarded their relationship as serious.

More later…

  1. OMO!! OMO!!!**Squeal!!** How am I going to do office work after reading this?! I’m on episode 7 and can’t wait to see this episode 10!!! That line – “Since when aren’t we in that kind of relationhip?”- is so swoon-worthy..sigh! **will daydream whole day at work now**😅😅

  2. ‘What’s up with this one hand bike riding?’

Cracked me up big time! 😂 I didn’t know about this. Maybe they think it’s manly? 🤷‍♀️ I don’t find it swoon worthy though 😂

I liked that the game introduction of them was the same as the real one in real life. I liked that he was staring at her and waiting to speak. XN said in episode 16 that he’s never been with a girl before so he’s still adjusting. Something to that effect.

I would have been that girl that needed to smell salts if I was WW realising that the BMOC was her husband in the game 😂 Lucky it was WW’s first boyfriend too right? Because there was a lot of voice over when they met. It almost started to annoy me, almost 😄

The scene where he sat next to her in the basketball game was epic 😄 Poor MR! WW’s girl group is lovely 😊. I like their teasing 😄

XN is sweet and WW is seeing it too in lots of ways. He really is taking this relationship seriously and thought about it like you said with the wild mandarin ducks. He doesn’t eat spicy food but he did. This guy is A++ for effort.

I really love it too that even though their together already they’re not rushing to be physically connected. It’s really waiting for the right time and moment. ☺️

  3. Sorry!!!

I had another comment before. Hopefully it’s here.

I’m on episode 18! Spoiler Alert!

I’m shocked by the first kiss! 😱 I think WW was shocked too 😂 I like the rain kiss more! 😍

  4. @agdr03!!!😂🤣😂

I’m impressed! How can you go through 8 hour-long episodes in one day??! Don’t you get a headache? 😜

When’s their first kiss? What episode? They had two kisses in one episode?

Are you enjoying the show? It’s light and fluffy, and de-stressing — exactly what my doctor recommended.

  5. Yaaas! What took you so long to watch this series!!

Your smelling salt-fainting gif got me rofl-ing here!

I loved the hero (who didn’t?!!) but got irritated with the heroine. Somehow both took so many pauses before speaking out their dialogues! (Hello we are waiting!!)

The writing is okay but the acting was awkward for my taste. But it is more fun to read your take on it! Will come back for more.

  6. Nobody recommended it to me. I only found out about it by accident. Did you finish it?
I’m watching it now since I’m resting. Am on Ep 13 already.

  7. Yes, I did. I watched it two times actually. 😛

  8. That’s it??
I’m watching each episode at least 2 times. One on netflix, then on kissasian because I cannot understand the translation sometimes.

For instance, I’m currently watching Ep 14 and in this scene I just finished, XN was asked to comment on the gossip online about WW’s beauty being skin-deep only, that is, XN was dating her because of her physical beauty, like her size 34C chest.

XN replied, “Better to have than to be without.”

I interpreted that to mean that it’s better to possess (a brain, a heart, common sense, kindness, love, beauty, friends, etc.) than to be without (a brain, a heart, common sense, kindness, love, beauty, friends, etc.). I want to make sure I didn’t lose something in the translation so I’m checking another dramasite after this one. 😀

But since I’m not Chinese, I’ll have to check another site to see if my understanding is correct.

  9. I’m having these ‘lost in translation’ issues too with ‘Love O2O’. Sometimes the translation of a certain sentence on Netflix makes no sense to me. This has never happened to me while watching English subs in kdramas before. Wonder if Chinese language has some unique nuances that make exact English translation difficult. I know this problem happens a lot in Japanese because there are lots of Japanese words which just don’t have English counterparts.

I’m on episode 19 now, and to answer your earlier question @packmule3, the run-time of the episodes seems to be only 30 mins, which means I take much less time to view them than the hour-long kdrama episodes I’m used to. I’ve watched around 13 episodes already back-to-back today, and it’s less taxing than binge-watching a 16-episode kdrama.

Enjoying the drama so far😊 I like the hero too ❤

  10. Sorry I went to sleep at 11:30pm last night because I got tired from binge watching 😂

Spoiler alert!!!! It’s episode 17, two kisses yes. 😍 He really really missed her so when he kissed WW she was taken aback 😂 I would be too and because they were in his office. It looked awkward and I almost said out loud ‘oh no! don’t be a PSH’. 😂 You tell me your thoughts ok 😊

With XN’s answer about the physical beauty, I rewind it too to understand. From my take he said that it’s better that WW’s is size 34c chest than not having that size at all. It was that because the girls teased WW that the only way XN would know about her size is if they’ve hugged already 😂 They we’re right of course 😂

It’s good that @staygold noticed all the voice overs too. I hope it gets less and less and her kiss gets better 😆

I’m thoroughly enjoying it because of its simplicity and the way the hero takes care of his girl ☺️ Are you ill? You mentioned that your doctor recommended you to not be stressed.

Oh I started watching from Thursday so that’s why I’ve advanced quickly and of course that means sleeping late 😬

  11. just watched the first kiss.
I stopped because I was spazzing. Am writing about it now.
    Will be back.

  12. Just want to add that I get flutters when XN calls WW ‘ Missus ‘ 😍😍😍

Hubby and I call each other ‘Amore’ since we got married. It’s good because it still sounds love even though your tone has changed from soft to hard 😂😂😂

  13. I have a feeling we’ll have the same view about it. To be honest I almost cringed 😬😆

So much for right time and the right place 😁

  14. I didn’t cringe! I liked it. hahahaha.
    Wait, let me explain.

  15. Oh! Well I was shocked when I first saw it but I did rewind a couple of times 😂 I’ll wait for your take on it!

  16. Give me two hours; will need gifs. 😂 I forgot that I’ve date night with my snore…errr… amore.

  17. 😂 Enjoy the date with your Amore!

I’ll try to watch the kiss scene again once I get home, I’m out shopping with Mother. We have my Boss’ 40th birthday tonight so I’ll be out and won’t be home till late as it’s in the city. Sydney is about 40minutes drive from my place.

Love O2O is very addictive. I can actually say that I’d rewatch it again once I finished! ☺️

  18. To add, I like the way he kisses! 😍

    That’s enough! I said I won’t turn into a fan girl 😂

  19. There are more kisses later on, one in the rain, one in the car, and one in his flat after she bites him (!). I liked them all 😊

I too like how caring he is towards her – how he shelters her from the rain and stands by her in front of everyone. I think the way he says “missus” is cute❤

I find the show addictive too. I’m on episode 23 now. Let’s see if I can finish them all today!!

  20. Go go @Phoenix! 😄

Ohhhh there’s a kiss after she bites him? Raawwwwrrrr! 😍😂 Cannot wait!!! 😉

  21. Wait a second. Bite or a nip? What’s going on here??!!

I’m sorry. I think I made a mistake in recommending this C-drama to you, ladies.

    hahaha.

  22. Agree. We all need this kind of drama now and then.

  23. @agdr03 @packmule3 No she bites his hand to get his attention and in retaliation, he pushes her to the floor (they were sitting on the floor) and kisses her**swoon**. Wait for it, it’s in episode 20, 21 or 22..I forget exactly which oñe because I bing-watched so many episodes back to back!🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️

After reading about the positive after-effects of being called “missus”, “amore” (@packmule3: “snore”..haha), I’m thinking of asking my prospective boyfriends to say such things to me to see if they sound half as sexy as when Yang-yang says it 😉😉😉

@packmule3 you did absolutely right to recommend this 😆😆I can’t thank you enough! I’m enjoying this kind of fluff so much..it reminds me of how much I used to like the cuteness in dramas like “Stong Woman Bong Soon” and “Shopping King Louis”. Sometimes I need mindless sappy fluff, it seems, to counter-balance the cynical bitchiness within me 😝

  24. By the way, spoiler alert..we have some cohabitation hijinks too in later episodes where Weiwei gets all flustered, before Xiao Nai says that he will move out because he doesntvtrust his self-control around her (Rawwwrrr!)

  25. lols…..never knew u are into this kind of romcom…. 😀 hahahahhaah anti love??? bahhhhhhh

hahaha u love it….i love this series mainly because of the mmorpg feature in it….being an addict gamer once….this kinda brought back memories even though i wasnt a fighter like both WeiWei….i was more like XiaoNai….fighter from the back that use long range skill 😀

this series make me re-visit my memories when i was gaming 😀

  26. oh you’re here, love!

Is that what XiaoNai does? He’s a long-range fighter? Is that why he lets Weiwei attack first?

IIRC, her first husband (the archer) did the same thing, too.

I thought it was funny when XN’s friends teased him for being a slacker and allowing Weiwei take on the monsters while he lounged around with his musical instrument.

  27. What episode is this??

  28. @packmule3 she is forced to come to stay with him first in episode 23, I think, after her fallout with her friend (won’t go into the details here..I didn’t like this other couple).I think that other hot kiss which I liked (the one after she bites her wrist) happens in episode 22, though it might be 21.
The rain kiss is actualky just a pack, though it’s swoon how he tries to protect her from the rain by shielding her with his body 😍
