Not welcome here:
Grammar Nazis. Hey! Try writing in Korean, Chinese, Tamil, and Klingon before correcting somebody’s English.
Oppa-freaks. Oppas are fair game. No oppa is god, especially when he’s only an idol.
Seagulls. You know those pesky birds at the beach that swoop in and poop on your head or dive in and STEAL your boardwalk fries? Yes, those seagulls. I don’t mind if readers occasionally post crappy posts, or nab an idea and talk about it on another website. But if you’re a habitual seagull here, I’ve squirt guns aimed at you.
And finger guns. Pew. Pew. Pew.
Sensitive and easily-triggered people. Please quarantine yourselves or “Deal with it!”
Politicians and lawyers. Unless they’re willing to be maligned.
and Mods.
…because I’m the mod over here and I adopt a laissez-faire attitude toward posting of opinions. I like people who can state their case and argue it well. Bonus points for wit and humor. We can disagree vociferously but at the end of the day, let’s all remain classy-ass bitches.
This is my blog.
If a guest is monopolizing the conversation with oppa-drivels (i.e., oppa is handsome, oppa is heart-eu, oppa has abs/pecs/mantitty, oppa is hawt, oppa is as;dga;sdkg!), trolling, spamming, attacking other posters personally, being a pain-in-the-derriere (≠ bitch), and just generally making it tedious for me to write here, it’s my sole discretion and authority to remove the post, and disinvite the guest by blocking or banning him/her.
Bitch rules.
Whoozzaaa.. this is not a scam, is it? The packmule from the forum-which-must-not-be-named now HAS A BLOG??????
Oh right, should introduce myself first. I’m your fans, kind of. Haha! been loving your takes/opinions on many (kdramas, or anything) they are so refreshing, out-of-the-box, anti kdrama-gods’ mainstream. Unfortunately “that forum”, well you know which one I mean, is full of toxic, so eventhough I miss reading your posts there (I swear I do!) but not enough to make me click it again. So yeah, finding that you make a blog is like a belated Christmas/early new year gift. Thank you!
PS:
I know this is your blog, but I have different opinion about this:
“No oppa is god, especially when he’s only an idol” —> although oppa is only an idol, he is god because…. I’m goddess (flip hair)…. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 (Big Question: Which oppa??)
Wowzaa??!! 😀
That expression reminds me of the Ka-pow! Biff! expressions of the Batman comicbooks brothers had when we were growing up. (insert gif here of Batman and Robin — if I could)
No, this isn’t a scam. I’m the real thing. I’m not fake news. I was thinking of naming this site therealpackmule3 or something, but bitchesoverdramas sounded hilarious.
I only started this blog – what? yesterday? two days ago? because like you and many others, I’ve had it with that soompi forum.
soompisoompisoompisoompisoompisoompisoompisoompi. There! They ain’t Voldemort.
I travel often for work but even when I was back in town, I couldn’t jolt myself out of apathy and jadedness to post in that site. I had jotted down on my ipad random observations and comments on dramas that I watched while waiting at airports or on board long flights. But I couldn’t induce myself to deal with mods, admins, and insipid posters. Do you feel that way, too?
However, a few days before Christmas, my two young nieces urged me to try blogging about my work and politics (kinda like passing down “institutional knowledge” so when I retire they’ll continue with tradition). Knowing my perverse streak, I decided that I’ll blog instead about something frivolous, and funny: kdramas. So here I am.
I don’t know what kind of Christmas/New Year’s Even gift I’ll be to you. I’d love to be a partridge in a pear tree, or five gold rings, but anything will suffice as long as I don’t become a dud or a lump of coal for you.
Re. the oppa rule.
You know, one thing about being a bitch is knowing the right time to break rules. So go ahead. If you want to hold your oppa sacrosanct, that’s fine by me. In a way, I envy you. Because of the reality of age, there’s no Korean idol/actor whom I can consider an oppa. Everybody’s my dongsaeng. Well, perhaps I have one oppa: Lee Soon-jae, born in 1930s. He usually plays grandpa roles. lol.
But that poor old grandpa wouldn’t be able to handle THIS bitch so I’d leave him alone.
What was your name in soompi?
First of all “Happy new year 2018” *backsound 🎶: Beyoncé singing “who run this blog? Bitches”* 😂😂😂
Yes, soompi…. There I say it 😅
Actually the “insipid” posters can be source of amusement (when I’m in good mood, not all the time ofcourse.. too much of them can reduce my mental stability and capacity)
Oh I went with the name of “Julie-my birthdate numbers” (because I’m not that creative 🤣 and other ID were already taken when I signed up) i’d be very honored if you still remember me *insert curtsy gif* but I take no offense if you don’t hahahaha but seriously “Oppa’s Goddess” is more flashy and interesting ID, don’t you think so?
PS:
You don’t have to fangirling over grandpa.. “oppa” term can be interpreted very loose here. Even younger idol/actor can be oppa hahahaha And pssssstttttt.. most idols and actors are also younger than me. 😝
I know of two Julies at soompi. One is from HK but we were together in the WGM thread, not a drama thread, although I think she posts in the dramabeans site. The other Julie is from Boston IIRC and we were in the Hong sisters’ drama thread Warm and Cozy. Hmmm… was the “curtsy” a clue for me? We called ourselves the “the Royals” in Warm and Cozy.
What are you watching nowadays? How did you like Because This is My First Life?
See?!? even you know more than one with the same name as me. Lol.. Proof that the ID is quite generic 😂… should had been more clever back then when choosing name. Unfortunately no, I’m none of those girls you know/remember… but my ID there is not even important right? My days with soompi has long gone, even during those time, I came visit and went whenever I wanted only.
I don’t think I’m an avid kdrama fans. I don’t watch most of kdramas that exist, but I kinda keep update with the news.. I usually do -I call this- “kdrama-sampling” —> watch 15-30 minutes of ep 1, see if it tempts me enough I’d continue. If not then bye bye.. if the news/fans rave about the dramas I stop watching (it somehow gets popular), I’d watch random episodes (with a lot of skips ofc) and conclude/end it with 15-30 mins of final episode… but I love love reading recaps, reviews, comments, reactions etc. from the bad, silly, “eye-rolling” ones to funny, clever, deep, on another level ones. So yes, this makes me a frequent visitor to some kdrama blog such as DB, Koala (her blog is not as fun as used to be though.. just rephrasing K-ent/C-ent articles) breathlesssurvival etc, or k-drama twitter accounts. In fact I found this blog when surfing the twitter world.. 😉
I don’t watch any kdrama now.. not even do sampling since nov ‘17. I was about to sample Hwayugi, it has 2 oppa’s, first “real” oppa LSG and oppahjussi (ahjussi with “oppa-flavor”) CSW 😅 but the drama got series of “bad luck” and only has too few episodes right now, so I’m gonna wait for more episodes and see how people react to it.
BTIMFL.. well this drama was kinda an exception. I was sampling it without any expectation whatsoever, I don’t even familiar with the cast except for JSM but I ended up following, watching, and kinda liking the whole drama. I don’t know what aspect of the drama that I like, maybe the monologues, the relevancy with real life problem, or the simple-yet-not-simple ness.. or something else *shrugged*
