Episode 1 Title: Wherever the boss is, whatever happens… the jugglers appear
lol. I’m the boss around here — and the juggler — so this post is still in the pipeline.
****************
As I’ve said to Oppa’s Goddess (OG), I refrained from posting on Jugglers’ Episode 1 because I typically include spoilers in my comments and I wanted people to determine on their own whether they like the show or not. Without mean, bad, bitchy me browbeating them.
But now, I think some sort of Bitch Notes are needed to encourage people to view this show.
TripleM said that even at soompi, only a few posters are moving the thread along. — But of course, this might also have something to do with the swarm mentality. Like bees and fish, posters tend to migrate en masse to popular destinations.
What I want here, however, is to have an INTELLIGENT swarming, and for you, smart bitches, to make up your own minds, independent of other people. Meaning, YOU decide whether you like the show or not.
This way, when we meet and confer, we have more individual opinions and diverse viewpoints to bring to the table. We aren’t all swarming here in this blog, just because I say this show has merits. It’s because YOU like the show and you want to see what else is there to like about the show.
But I digress…
From Episode 1, I realized that the director and writers were witty enough to be entertaining to this bitch, when the female lead was in the taxi trying to “juggle” her bouncing cellphone, and failed. It flew out the window and the glass shattered.
Do you see the metaphor there?
Jugglers are supposed to keep multiple balls up in the air, without dropping any, without breaking sweat. But in this scene, YoonYi failed to hold and catch ONE single item.
That scene essentially summed up her life problem.
Without success, she struggled to balance two things in her life: work and dating. She dropped the ball of romance, so she ended up alone again, on the eve of her 30th birthday.
Symbolically, too, she CHOSE to let go of her dating life when she shove her date off the bed. He dropped to the floor like a bowling ball. Thud! Did you see that?
Well… we didn’t expect much of YY’s ball-handling skills because, as she whined to her ex-boyfriend/art curator, she only had two hands and she did not set reasonable boundaries between her work and home life.
Which she learned to accomplish with ChiWon.
It was one of the things that CW insisted when he moved in to her house. She was his assistant at work, but she was his landlord at home. There was a line drawn at the front gate of their Haunted House.
So far, she has been successfully juggling the two: work and romance, because CW allowed and enforced separation of private matters from business matters. But let’s see how they progress this week as they slowly blur the lines.
Ah!! I forget. She was also likely to mess up juggling because her ex-boss was a cheater. You could say that one of the balls she was juggling was defective…
I will update this post to post more of my notes on Episode 1. Right now, it’s Sunday here and I’ve family (my sons!) over. Time for me to juggle balls here.
Go ahead and please post your opinions on Episode 1. I want to know why you’re watching this romcom. I like to hear you gushing over Choi Daniel.
