Bitch Talk: Lee Seo Jin Oppahjussi

My friend nonski dropped by and added another name to our ever growing list of oppahjussi or ahjussioppa (sounds like “Ah! Juicy oppa”).  She said this:

My Oppa: (pardon, I am not in the position to call them oppa but still…)
… Lee Soo Jin because of his cockiness.

Yes, how can I forget Lee Seo Jin?

(Simple answer. Because, like my Song Seung Heon’s memory lapse, I also Bleachbit™ LSJ from my memory files after that disastrous makjang with UEE, “Marriage Contract.”)

Look: If James Bond were Korean and he retired from his service to the Queen, he’d be Lee Seo Jin. I can imagine LSJ, in a tux, sauntering to the bar and ordering martini — with an American accent, instead of British.

Shaken, not stirred.

LSJ would flash one of his signature smiles (you’d recognize that smile anywhere: the one with his dimples showing) and raise his glass in salute and leave the bar … without paying.

He’s that kind of a guy. Too cool and too aristocratic to care about rules. Rules? What rules? Rules are for commoners like you and me.

Another thing I like about Lee Seo Jin is his aura of indolence. Not laziness, mind you, but indolence. He’s conserving his energy for a more cerebral task or a worthier cause.

And I remember how he treated the grandpas in that travel variety show. He spent his own money because he didn’t want to skimp and save at the cost of giving discomfort to the grandpas. He wanted the grandpas to have a good time, too.

And being an almost grandma myself, I fell a little bit in love with him then.

hahaha. I don’t know what the question was, but the answer sounded like him, alright. I told you: for him, rules are for plebes. Related image

I just wish he’d stop taking on stupid projects (andwaeee, ahjuicyoppa! No more makjangs!)

  1. u should try to watch his variety show with na pd :p
granpa over flowers, three meal a day, youns kitchen ! grumpy ahjushi everywhere!

  2. btw do u have plan to watch return kdrama? mystery killer.

  3. He IS grumpy but if you were in love with him, you’d see his grouchiness as a cry for attention or his moodiness as a result of sleep deprivation or his irritability as caused by hunger. He’s just like a toddler in that sense.

He’s become a curmudgeon in his old age so he needs someone who can ignore his bad temper.

  4. Is it law and order stuff? You know, I can’t relax if I’m watching a legal drama. Police shows I can manage but not legal dramas.

  5. i think its mixed genre there is police and lawyer, not really focus on legal drama. since the main lead trying to find the real killer.

  6. I love watching Lee Seo Jin on variety shows. His grumpiness is cute and well it had become his signature so he’s sticking to it. When I first watched LSJ, eons ago, the first thing I noticed was his cockiness and till now he still have that. These attitudes can be seen negatively but when one can carry it well like LSJ, it becomes admirable.

On Marriage Contract, I did watch the drama and I liked him there but I wasn’t able to finish it.

  7. i see some ppl dislike his behaviour, but its for comedy and variety show. it should be that way, it was his selling point. to make ppl laugh. i think korean love him that why they call him grumpy ahjusshi, but some international fans dislike his behaviour. maybe they dont understand how korean industry works.

  8. Yes, he is grumpy but I like it, to be honest. He’s match made-in-heaven for us bitches. lol.

Beside, he’s just another “tsundere” male —
but in his 40s. It would be interesting to see the girl he’d actually marry in real life. I hope he won’t disappoint us with a 19 year old kpop idol.
