To my 9 followers and 5 readers: (What the heck?! Even my followers are not reading me….😂)
Watch the Ghost Detective. It’s well-written, excellently directed, and decisively portrayed by all cast members.
It’s a thriller (and I dislike watching thrillers as much as melodramas).
It involves ghosts (I’m a scaredy-cat).
It has no romance (I’m a sucker for rom-coms).
It shows blood (I’m known to faint at the sight of blood).
It stars Daniel Choi without his glasses (and you know what I said about DC without glasses, right? Shhh. 🤫 He looks like a peasant).
It dwells on suicide (and I normally avoid topical issues in my kdramas).
But if you’re tired of kdramas with overrated actors, glorified writers, sappy dialogues, drooling fangirls, and budget-busting cinematography, 🤣 come join me in this show. You won’t be bored. Not for a single minute.
Either mute the volume for the scary parts or fast-forward to see how the scene ends before playing it back, like I do, when you’re scared.
But do try it for four episodes (even two will do) and you’ll see what I’m raving about.
Satisfaction guaranteed or your money back. 👍
Will edit later and post my Bitch-version of a Bat Signal here.
Hi i dunno if you remember me.. but I was one of the minhoyoung shipper who spammed a lot here when APAD was still airing 🤣🤣🤣.. but heyyy high five!! i’m currently obsessed with The Ghost Detective cause I’m a fan of Choi Daniel with glass or without glass 😅 (he is so charismatic) so yeah happy watching it!
Do NOT ever mention that 💩 kdrama again. I read what Sansukini found out about the director switching heroes three-quarters of the way and I wanted to bitch-slap him and that “vending machine” scriptwriter.
(Per “Lovely, Horribly,” a vending machine” writer churns out all types of junk, according to the demands of director, actors AND know-nothing fangirls. The type of writer doesn’t care about destroying her craft and her story as long as she/he gets paid pennies for the story.)
😀
But yes, we’re obsessing over a good show. Will post my review on Eps 3 and 4 later. Haven’t finished 4 because I keep on stopping to take stock of what just happened. Yes. Surprise: that feeling rarely happens to me in kdramas. Most of the time we can anticipate the tropes and cliches thrown at the viewers with fancy cinematography and contrived plots (see Devilish Love and Mr Sunshine).
Okay. Glad you’re back!! Let’s post together.
Hmmm… wasn’t Daniel Choi’s character in that rom-com featured as one of Best Kdrama Boyfriend of the Week? I thought I wrote about that character? Or maybe I only wrote about his famous BUTT scene in one of the episodes?
He’s intense in this show. He looks rugged and I’m partial to rugged guys — having learned how to live with them all my life. 😆
I am starting this one late. I am on ep 2. I am confused! 😀
Since it is visually beautiful I am sticking around!
What do you find confusing? Just post and I’ll try to answer.
Stick around, my friend.
If he is dead how can she see/touch him? How can he get punched and feel pain?
Maybe they tell more about it in next episodes? Yet to watch ep 3 & 4.
🙂 I was writing about this in my post. when you posted.
Ep 3 and 4 won’t explain it at all, but I will.
Think of his ghostly body as the third state of matter, gaseous.
A MOVING object or body would just go through him because he’s air or gaseous. That’s why a person could walk through him, he couldn’t grab the manager, and the basketball rolled past his leg. He’s like air.
However, a STATIONARY object is solid and immovable. A wall, door, doorknob, chair, bed, and car are solid matter and they’re impenetrable by air and immovable by air.
That’s why he could sit on chairs and not fall through it. The chair is solid. And he could slam on a wall, and his hand wouldn’t go through the wall. The wall is solid.
I’m guessing that a speeding car will go through him, but he can’t enter a parked car unless the car door is open for him.
It hasn’t been explained why SHE can see and touch him. That’s the ongoing mystery. Probably has something to do with some “connection” they have.
As for getting punched and feeling pain, when did this happen? I think he felt pain when she flipped him but it could be PHANTOM PAIN. hahaha. Get it? Phantom? He’s a ghost.
Phantom pain is experiencing pain from a part of a body that’s no longer there, like an amputated leg.
