Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m not this old yet and I’m hoping that my turkey won’t explode on me and my guests tomorrow but…

From my family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!!

Norman Rockwell thanksgiving 1919-11-22-The-Literary-Digest-Norman-Rockwell-cover-Thanksgiving_1a

I won’t be around tomorrow for the spoilers but you’ll all be in my thoughts while I prepare the food.

Our dinner plates won’t have markings on them like M, F, S1 (for son 1), S2, MiL (mother-in-law), etc. like WH’s family. There’ll be no fish with dead eyes staring up at us. (haha). We won’t be using chopsticks either.

But this romcom has reminded us over and over again about the importance of eating together with loved ones. There’s something therapeutic (remember how they talked about finding a good person first before dating just any man) and comforting (her mille feuille nada) when talking around the dining table.

Of course, there can also be something playful and flirtatious when eating together — like provoking his jealousy in Episode 6 then dying of laughter at his cute comeback.

To me, especially this Thanksgiving, sharing a table means putting aside work and differences so we can focus on others and catch up on their news.

Good food + good company = good memories

That’s perhaps the blessings of Thanksgiving. We’re so grateful for the past which made us who we are today that we look forward to many more Thanksgiving feasts to come.

See you on Friday!
