    Hi @packmule3, I’m watching it and commenting on it with the folks at Dramabeans. I think at the moment (because I cannot see that far ahead) it’s worth the watch and a review.

    First impressions (without spoilers): the world that is shown and created is awesome. Am I vague enough to give nothing away? It looks great and it’s premise is surprising.

    While the plot and whys become clear by Episode 2, and the mysteries are pretty compelling, the characterisation has a bit of a ways to go. The characters are interesting and even funny and gorgeous, but more development needs to be given to round them off and make us care.

    Still, I believe, the dissection as to what’s happening, what motives there are and what’s real will keep us entertained for many days. 🙂

    I was considering it but haven’t ventured in because I am waiting for Yoo SeungHo’s drama to start coming Monday.

    I absolutely LOVED Stranger Things… Eleven ❤️😍.

    I look forward to reading about it here…then I will see if the “upside-down” is where I should venture into once more.

    This show might end up in robot arm territory but it looks intriguing! I do love the sci-fi/fantasy genre but world-building needs a showrunner with a strong, unified vision. Nothing enrages fantasy fans more than a half-cheeked execution.

    This could be a fun show to binge during winter break!

    I know, right! 😂 I heard that “robotic arm” kdrama didn’t end well. I read many disgruntled reviews, one from an old posters here, Dorotka. I believe her.

    But you’re so right. The plots of most sci-fi/fantasy kdramas I’ve watched were dicey. Come to think of it, I can’t remember one that I liked. 🤔

    I’m a Trekkie (Star Trek fan). Gene Roddenberry created a world with detailed histories of each alien species and credible plots which followed laws of nature. As corny as William Shatner was in portraying his character, I can understand the world view and the philosophy behind his actions.

    I can’t say the same with many kdramas. 😂

    Anyway, VISUALLY the first episode of Alhambra looked awesome. Since it’s on Netflix, I can watch it too on the big TV too. 🙂

    I’ve seen both episodes but I’m not sure what to think of it yet. I love the scenery definitely and the gaming effects. I should ask my boys to watch it with me because it looks like one of those games that they play on PlayStation 😂

    I will continue to watch it. I thought that scene in episode 2 where Hyuk Bin’s character says how handsome he is and justifies it was a bit over the top and waste of screen time 😬😂

    …. Because I conked out early after last night’s affair. I’m telling you: all the partying is messing up my circadian rhythm.

    My understanding of gamer world is about SuperMario level but I know the military applications of virtual reality so yes… the first episode was quite fascinating.

    These simulations can be use for combat training to familiarize the personnel with various weapons and to train their responses in scenarios that can’t be duplicated in real life.

    Definitely an Interesting drama.

    I remember I only partied to death till I was 21. After that I got tired and didn’t go out as much 😂 I thought I was gonna last till I was 30 😂 So wrong. I guess it didn’t help that I have low tolerance to alcohol 😏

    I too only know of SuperMario that’s why I’m only familiar with the game part of the drama because of what I see from my boys games. I even asked the boys what is AR? Augmented Reality. I said ‘ahh’. ☺️

    It is interesting yes. I’ll keep watching it because I like HB. I want him to work with YEH too one day.

    I can’t wait for Yoo Seong-Ho’s drama though ☺️
