Sing to the tune of “Don’t Cry for Me, Argentina.”
It won’t be easy.
You’ll think it strange
When I try to explain where I’ve been,
That I still need my dramas after all that I’ve seen.
You won’t believe me.
All you will see is a weary traveler.
Although my luggage was lost sev’ral times
I still dressed in suits for my rendezvous.
I had to let it happen.
I had to wine and dine.
Couldn’t stay all my life out of the limelight,
Looking out of hotel windows, staying out of marches.
And I chose freedom.
Running around, eating only dimsum in sight.
So no fat’s added to my thighs.
I never expected it to.
Don’t cry for me, sassy bitches.
The truth is I never left you.
Although I can’t access
This mad wordpress blog
For security reason
I kept my distance.
I’m back home. Hooray!!!
Will blog later. Dinner out with my guyz. I’m missing a good burger, french fries, and bottomless strawberry milk shake.
LOL! Welcome back @packmule!
Welcome back!
Hi there, @flyingtool.
What are you watching nowadays?
Waaaaaaaaa! Huuuuugs to you all the way from down under! 😘
Should we have written a song for you too while you were away? 😂 That’s a good one ☝🏻👌!
So glad you’re back! 🙏 I was considering stopping watching dramas all together when you weren’t here but I guess dramas are meant for me. 😂
I’m only watching The Legends (cdrama) right now, nothing else. I haven’t continued MTF and YHCM.
Enjoy your catch up with your boyz. I’m busy doing housework because we just got back from our snow trip. It was exhausting but fun! 😊
Did you go skiing??
My kids and their girlfriends (and guy friends, too) are going to the beach house this weekend so I said we should have burgers tonight and catch up on news. But apparently nobody did the Costco run while I was away so dinner had to be quick because I had to pick up detergent, paper products (hahaha. Me and toilet papers)and sundries before Costco closed. lol. My husband is spoiled rotten.
What??? You’re going to stop watching dramas without me? NOoooo. Let’s watch “Rookie Historian Goo whatever” together. I hear the acting’s bad but the guy’s handsome. hahaha.
I’m going back to my Deng Lun binge. I was watching “Daddy, Where are We Going?” when the office called. lol. But I can’t remember where I ended so I’m just going to re-watch it all over again.
As for Jane Austen, I did end up watching “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.” It was quirky but it wasn’t anything memorable. I’ve to write a review about it now.
I did go skiing. Did a 3 hour lesson and then tried it. It’s our first time and it was heavy on our bodies, no my body 😂 My boys were ok as first timers and even hubby but I think it’s not for me. 😬
I’m going to Costco later with Mum. You like going that’s why your boys left it for you 😄
That’s why I said dramas are meant for me because you’re back 😂 I won’t survive a drama without your inputs especially the ones we watch together. I saw that Rookie Historian Goo and he is good looking 😂 Let me watch the first episode and tell you if I’m in. Have you started it?
That’s one thing with watching Deng Lun, you don’t get sick of seeing him ☺️ I think you’re in episode 7 before the Moms episode. My cousin said Ashes Of Love was great and the leading lady there had great chemistry with Deng Lun but I told her I didn’t find her that appealing 😬 I did start watching it too but I couldn’t hold my interest. I told her I’ll give it a try again but it’ll be later.
Oh you did watch P&P Zombies. I still have to watch the 1995 version. ☺️
Yes, I’m binge-watching Deng Lun. I like the way he talks. He’s not particularly handsome but I liked how he brushes his pretend-daughter Sanchu’s hair and lets her sit on his knee. hahaha. I want to have a daughter, too!!!!
You’re right. I haven’t seen the mommy episode so I must have stopped somewhere before then. Thanks!
I tried “Ashes of Love” and I can’t get pass the way the lead female talks. Too babyish. Too cartoon-ish. But then, I’ve been listening to native Chinese speakers lately (ha!) and they don’t sound at all like her.
I’ll start watching Rookie Historian Goo tonight. It’s on Netflix already. He reminds me of that other flower boy, Park Bogum.
Oh yes he combs Mangosteen’s hair a few times 😍 She’s a cutie too! ☺️ I usually say I have two daughters in my nieces. Whenever I miss having a daughter I usually spend a bit more time with them 😊
Oh Rookie Historian is on Netflix already? I’ll watch it tonight then. See how I go. I’ll finish The Legends and maybe I can finish YHCM. Agree, the actor reminds me of Park Bo Gum ☺️ You know PBG did his Good Day concert/fan meet in Manila and his English has gotten pretty good. I want to see him in another drama again but I think he’s doing a movie with Gong Yoo.
I don’t know but I really didn’t find Ashes of Love that grabbing in the first episode. But I guess I can do it for Deng Lun if I watched Yang Yang in Martial Universe 😂
I’ll watch Tale of Minglan, too. Somebody recommended it here. The 63-episode count isn’t daunting anymore after I’ve gotten the hang of these Cdramas.
I like Dad with the two kids best in “Daddy, Where are We Going?” He seems to be very patient.
But the Dad with the kissing boy is chill, too. lol. I must admit that I laughed when he tried to explain to his son why he shouldn’t kiss Puff-oh. #metoo
I didn’t understand the premise of “Ashes of Love.” There were too many characters introduced in the first episode and I didn’t get why she had to be “grape” fairy when her mother was the Flower Queen, and Deng Lun had to be a bird overlord when he didn’t look one bit like a bird.
My assistant was trying to get me interested in these romance books with hybrid characters (i.e., half-man/half-lion or half-man/half-bear or something as ridiculous) and I couldn’t wrap my head that I’m reading something that’s like bestiality. Ewwww…. #judgmental #sorrynotsorry
I can’t imagine a romance between a “grape” sprite and a bird guy. Like, will he actually peck her to kiss her? Will she lay an egg?
Welcome back @packmule3! I’ll look forward to your upcoing posts for sure! I’ve missed your insights. Since everyone here is talking Rookie Historian I’ll have to check that one out. I didn’t realize it had started. I keep getting it confused with the Kim So Hyun fantasy historical drama that is slated for the end of this year. I’ll be interested to read your thoughts on Story of Ming Lan- I’ve heard mixed reviews and the 73 episode length has me hesitating. I encourage everyone to check out TW drama Before We Get Married, which is on Viki. I am loving this drama and can’t wait for the next episode! All 4 leads are layered characters and the drama has so much going on. I hope you’ll consider it, @packmule3 as I’d love to read your analysis!
@agdr03- I hope you can watch P&P 1995 soon. I’m interested to hear your take on the series.
Is it 73 episodes??? I thought it only had 63? But 10 hours really won’t make any difference once I’ve already committed to 63…
I’ve accrued enough time off so I can go on vacation anytime now. I only need to finish my reports.
Okay, I’ll check out Before We Get Married. Isn’t it done yet?
The Story of Minglan interests me from a cultural aspect. For one, I’m beginning to enjoy the characters’ flowery and circumlocutory way of speaking. At first, it was hard for me to determine what was being said because people didn’t say outright what they wanted. For example, instead of simply declaring a person non grata and warning the servants never to let that person enter again, the characters would refer to some natural phenomenon, like rain falling on leaves, or to a historical exploit of an emperor, and I’d have zero clue what they were talking about. hahaha.
But I like the practical application of Sun Tsu’s The Art of War. I thought it was hilarious how the text was used in self-defense against crazy concubines and greedy relatives.
It is difficult to review 73 episodes so I don’t know how to segment this Cdrama yet. Let me think about this some more.
I’m fighting jetlag as I write this so I don’t know if I’m still making sense.
TW drama Before We Get Married is still ongoing. Currently they have broadcast 8 episodes of 13 total. The drama will run through Aug. 23, 2019. It’s at Viki. It’s my “must see” drama at the moment. So addictive! Thanks for considering to check it out. As I said, would love to read your (and everyone’s) thoughts about the drama and characters.
Yes, Story of Minglan is a big commitment, which is one of the reasons I have held off watching this drama.
And just in case you didn’t see it before: I’m so glad that you have returned and are OK, @pm3. We were all worried and missing you. Try and get some rest for your jetlag.
Welcome back pm3!!! 😀
I missed you, too, Goyangi.
Welcome back! I’m glad nothing serious happened to you or your dear ones… and you are back to bitching the dramas 😄
I did, didn’t I? I bitch big time over Before We Get Married. 👿
That’s almost a month worth of pent-up bitching.
