Hotel del Luna has one more weekend and if you have any drama recs that we can bitch about, just tell me.
Mind you. I avoid political and legal dramas because it’s no fun looking in the mirror.
I might check out:
1. “Vagabond” with Lee Seunggi and Suzy. I’ve been waiting for this since January.
2. Lee MinHo’s “The King” with Kim Go Eun (Goblin’s bride) but I see that it won’t be on till 2020. phooooeeeey!
3. “Tale of Nok-Du” (or Mung Bean Chronicles) because it has two cuties in a romcom. But it won’t start till end of September.
hahaha. Guess who the two cuties are.
4. “Strangers from Hell” with Siwan. This sounds like Sartre’s one-act play, “No Exit” with that famous line was “l’enfer, c’est les autres.” Meaning, hell is other people.
I ordinarily wouldn’t be in the mood for existentialism after watching Hotel del Luna. But I’m curious to know why Siwan chose this project.
5. Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency. This is fluffy and I still have to finish my reviews for Go Go Squid. Too much cotton candy isn’t good for me.
I am watching Strangers From Hell (and it’s alternate title is Hell is Other People 😂). Only 10 episodes. Short and sweet. And it’s SiWan. ❤️. I just love that boy. Same stage presence as DKS. I think Ji ChangWook has a Melt Me rom com coming up too? Not sure when that starts.
Dear Forumites, if possible please include Dramas from other parts of Asia. Personally I enjoyed great J-Dramas in the past.
If you read between lines, what I am really saying is “I am not so intereste in the upcoming K-Drama rooster” 😉 .
I would not mind getting oldies as recommendation. My takes:
1.- Flowers for My Life (2007 – Korea). Another study on grief. Probably one of the most reflexive and thought-inducing Dramas I’ve seen.
2.- Kekkon Dekinai Otoko (2006 – Japan). An independent man discovers he is not an island. Abe Hiroshi gets all my respect. Hilarious with lots of dry humour.
3.- Fantasy Couple (2006 – Korea – Another Hong Sisters Drama). A rich girl has amnesia, is recovered by a man she has aggravated and that wants vengeance.
4.- Long Vacation (1996 – Japan). An old model with a fleeting career finds a pianist down on his luck. It has a magic quality.
I don’t know how would you react to this but…
5.- Orange Marmalade (2015 – Korea). Yes, mock me if you want =P , but if you take the green (and more cheesy than a pallet of Velveeta by Kraft) acting away, a lot of parts (like the Joseon one – you can read these episodes on DramaBeans) and you only keep the focus on the fight for equal rights for the vampires and their lives as marginalized people in present Korea, then it is a pretty good show.
Hope to read your ideas soon!!! =D
Fantasy Couple, I wouldn’t mind doing Fantasy Couple.
Ahhh! So it is “Hell is Other People”!!
Okay, let’s do “Strangers from Hell”. It’s a thriller so I need to watch it first thing in the morning while having breakfast. If I watch it when I get home after work or late at night, I’ll be too spooked to move around the house. lol.
Oh no… what about @agdr03?! She won’t be able to watch this. hahaha.
Orange Marmalade is where you can see CS (aka Yeo JinGoo) again. 😂. I lasted 5 episodes I think… I forget why I dropped it.
Thanks for those suggestions @fgb4877, I may give JDrama a go. I have watched a few Japanese movies and I really like them. I took Do KyungSoo’s suggestions and went ahead to watch some of his recommendations and I loved them. Little Forest (the Japanese version) was good. So was Our Little Sister. Slice of life type movies with heart. I will put number 2 and 4 on my to watch list.
I watched Orange Marmalade up to maybe 7 episodes? I can’t remember it much. I was toying with the idea of watching Si Wan’s next outing … Hell is Other People… is that meant to be existential? Then I must be in an existential state of existing Heheheh!
Even as we discussed what to watch, this link popped up in my email:
https://thedramacorner.com/2019/08/27/mystery-thriller-strangers-from-hell-arrives-on-ocn-with-im-shi-wan-and-lee-dong-wook/
Looks intriguingly darkish.
1) I’m interested by Vagabond because action dramas are pretty rare but I’m not a fan of Suzy’s acting.
3)“Tale of Nok-Du” (or Mung Bean Chronicles), Jang Dong Yoon is really a good actor! I like him since Solomon’s Perjury. I like Kims So Hyun but I didn’t like her 3 last dramas…
4)Hell is Other People, Sartre as a reference, I like it :p
5)Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency, it looks fun.
“My Country” looks good and I need a dark sageuk among all the fluffy ones.
“When the Camellia Blooms”, Kang Ha Neul’s first lead role! Finally!
“A Day Found by Chance ” looks cute and I like the idea of the heroin who wants to control her life.
“Secret Boutique”, the posters look mysterious.
@growingbeautiful It is supposed to be a thriller/mystery/horror? I am usually not a fan of horror but I can cope with mystery thrillers.
Synopsis
“Strangers from Hell” is based on a popular thriller webtoon about strange incidents that a guy encounters after he moves to Seoul from the countryside.
The story is a thriller-horror about a young man’s strange encounters while living in an old gositel in Seoul. He left his home in the countryside to come to the city, but everything and everyone in the gositel is odd and suspicious.
Howdy! ☺️ I’ll be sure to watch Vagabond with you but not sure about the Strangers From Hell 😄
HdL is surprisingly the only ghost/thriller/suspense that I’m going to finish. After that I might lay off ghost stories. If you didn’t warn me about the ghost bits before hand I think I wouldn’t have been able to stay. 😊
Don’t worry about me. I’ll start on Mr Fighting soon. I’ll finish GGS and Rookie Historian is finishing up in 2 weeks. I’m not into Kim So Hyun so I’m not sure about Love Alarm.
I’m not sure about jdramas too.
I might be able to watch P&P 1995 finally as it’s on Stan.
There’s also King’s Avatar so let’s see how I go. 😄
“Strangers from Hell” — I’m looking into this just because it’s Siwan.
Ha! I’m glad you joined me for HdL. The ghosts aren’t so scary after you get used to them.
How was Rookie Historian?
Yes, finish P&P 1995 then I’ll open a thread just for Colin Firth… I mean, for YOU.
😂 oh I see.
It’s a gositel. Gosi refers to the state exams. Gosiwon is the dorm for the students prepping for the exams.
Gosiwon + hotel = gositel bec workers who couldn’t afford expensive housing in Seoul started using them too.
These gositels are seen as emblematic of the socio-economic problems of South Korea. It’s “Hell Joseon”.
But gositel sounds like GHOSTitel and also rhymes with Hell. 😂
Morning! 🌞
Yes, I know Siwan is one of your fave 4. Is he number 1? ☺️ I can’t remember.
Yes. I didn’t think I was going to last with HdL but I did and it’s thanks to you. 👍🏻
I thought Rookie Historian was easy to watch but there were a few episodes where it got heavy with the King and Prince not having a good relationship. But the last 2 episodes, the King had a turn around. I thought he changed from being so strict to someone who actually listens to a Historian. Maybe it’s all easy going now. 😊 But story wise I think there’s not a lot there. Prince Lee Rim and Hae- Ryung are cute together, that’s why I’m enjoying it. 😊
Nah, don’t worry about opening a thread for me on Colin Firth. I like him definitely but I’ll just put my thoughts on the BWGM thread. 😊 Unless I start fangirling like crazy after watching it. 😄
You will fangirl Colin Firth. 😂 He’s like an estrogen activator.
I love, love, love the 1995 Pride and Prejudice!!! have the series on CD somewhere and still watch it on Youtube. I really like Jennifer Ehle there and of course Colin Firth. I just really enjoy Jane Austen.
Ok. Let’s have an open thread for Pride and Prejudice 1995 next week to get over HdL blues after the series end. I think I’ve the CDs too. I bought the videotapes but I’m not sure if I borrowed the CDs or I lent them out.
Yes. Jane Austen P&P seems to be the gold standard for kdrama romance viewers. I liked Emma, too. I liked how Mr Knightley was cool about living with her hypochondriac father just to marry her in the end. 😂 That’s a sign of true love: forbearance for the in-laws.
@growingbeautifully You should’ve joined us (or were you around then? I forget… 😂 I have senior moments where my brain gets foggy – I blame the Captain this time for momentarily possessing me 😂, he has a nasty habit of doing that) when we were full on into P&P (still waiting for PM3 to give us the run down on the Zombie version)…and North&South…and Little Dorrit.
Yes. The idol actors that I like: Siwan and Kyungsoo Do, because they’re actually good.
Then Yoon Dojoon bec he has a funny owlish face and he eats well. 😂 And Taecyeon, bec I like to think of him as one of the good morally-upright idols. 😈 I’m sure he has feet of clay too but for now, I want to think of him as good kid.
The last two aren’t really at Siwan’s level but oh well! I’m playing favorites here.
Ok cool! That’s settled then ☺️ P&P 1995 open thread.
Estrogen activator, you’ll know it when I start to fangirl then 😂
Maybe I can even start watching it this week. I’ll let you know. 😊
I’m signing off now as I’m down with the flu 😷 Took a day off today with my son as he is sick as well.
Laters! 👋🏻 Have a good day everyone!
Take care of yourself, @agdr03. Drink plenty of fluids. Take your meds. Get well soon!
I’m waiting for Vagabond too, and it’s become a long wait now! Hopefully it will arrive in September.
I’m scared of the horror genre; so I’m going to skip Strangers From Hell. But first I need to start watching King’s Avatar 😊
Still have to check out Go Go Squid. I’m not super fond of sageuks – so I think I’ll give Tale of Nokdu a miss. Love Alarm (the current season of 8 episodes apparently ends on a cliffhanger) and may get a second season – so no way I’m going to pick that up. May try watching first episode of Ji Chang Wook’s new drama as I really liked the lead actress in Just Between Lovers/Rain or Shine.
@agdr03: Take rest and get well soon so that we can fangirl over YY together 🙂
Hello all! real life interfered with my drama watching so I am still in my rewatch of Before we Get Married. @Phoenix- I haven’t forgotten this drama or our discussion of it. Probably will be able to post over the weekend.
As for the current K Dramas, still trying to find one. I was super excited about love Alarm, but then found out it’s got a cliffhanger ending so I will put that show on the backburner. I may give Graceful Family/Elegant Family a try. I like a nice mystery drama with some romance. Male lead is a lawyer, but the focus of the drama isn’t on law cases, I think. He gets hired by, I guess you call them “fixers” for a Chaebol corporation and ends up helping the female lead investigate the murder of her mother which occured 15 years ago. I was thinking I might give Rookie Historian Goo Hye Ryung a try-but I’ve heard mixed reviews, and someone said there is not much romance?
Geez.. a decent K Drama Rom Com, is it too much to ask??
Otherwise, everything I’m looking forward to is coming end of the year. Tale of Nok-Du, Vagabond, When Camellia Blooms, The Hyun Bin/Son Ye Jin Rom Com. Maybe I’ll check out My Country- I love Woo Do Hwan, but saguek is not my thing (unless it’s fusion romance type)
If we are considering the older dramas-
Marriage Not Dating
1% of Something- just got added to Viki. All the episodes are subbed and editing is complete through Ep. 13
Just Between Lovers
P&P 1995- Love it and own it on DVD. Still looking forward to your take on it, @agdr03. If we are doing English period drama, then I also strongly recommend BBC North & South starring Richard Armitage. It’s available on Netflix (not sure if this is worldwide, though).
Asian drama outside China & South Korea- I like Japan dramas, but they are difficult to find subbed. Taiwan has a lot of good ones. I just started My Lucky Star as that one came highly recommended as an addictive watch and rom com.
Well I loved The Last Cinderella if we’re talking JDrama, but normally dislike JDrama female leads, and Japan doesn’t do rom com well. The Last Cinderella was an exception, and both male leads are eye candy. The female lead is a tomboyish 39 year old caught between a gorgeous 20 something trick bike rider and a handsome man she’s known for years. Her choice surprised me, so don’t watch the end first because you won’t know till the last episode.
Honestly nothing K, C or J Drama is grabbing my attention right now. I’ve got HDL, Rookie (barely keeps my interest after a strong start), and Arthdal. I’m going to check out The Great Show cause Song Seung Hun was comedic gold in Black, and his character in this one seems vaguely similar with the arrogance challenged by four kids. I’ll know by the second episode whether to continue it.
Just nothing really Romantic. Pride and Prejudice I’ve seen ten times, btw, and In not a rewatcher. I owned it in TAPES not discs and lent it out to my friends so much it disappeared somewhere.
Have any of you tried Thai drama? Most of it is horrible, but I do have some recommendations for good ones. It took me a little while to get used to it, but I ended up adoring their remake of Full House (more skinship, more friendship, more fun than the kdrama). I also liked Kleun Cheewit, Bhoopae Saniwat,so give them a look-see if you’re in the mood for something different. Finger on fast forward though cause they’ve got screechers as second female leads usually. I had bought into the stereotype that Thai women were quite demure, but was I ever disillusioned after ten or so Thai dramas.
My favorite Thai drama was actually a cliche ridden mafia romance called Mafia Luer d Mungkorn Suer. Ananda Everingham for the win. I’m embarrassed to recommend it,so many cliches, it’s slap kiss (but never really takes itself too seriously),and a poor decision for the plot in the second half. Still I loved it and even replayed scenes. Go figure something like this would turn the crank of feminist me. Give it a shot though as I found it entertaining throughout, if sometimes incomprehensible.
@Barbrey
I have watched a few of the Thai dramas and enjoyed them. I agree Full House Thai was really good. Loved Mike & Aom’s on screen chemistry. I wish they do another drama together soon. I also liked Kleun Cheewit starring Yaya, but I did have to use the FF button with that drama with the secondary characters. When the focus was on Jee and her story, it was riveting. 2 more that I enjoyed were Fai Lang Fai starring Matt & Boy and Leh Ratree starring Sean & Esther. My all time favorite is Prissana (2000) starring Taya & Tik. Based on a Thai novel known as “Thailand’s version of Pride & Prejudice”, so I had to hunt it down, right? I’ve heard good things aboout Bhoopae Saniwat so will definitely have to check it out now that you say it’s good too. As for Ananda Everingham, definitely want to see his latest drama of the remake of Secret Garden, but unfortunately very slow subs. Also want to check out the Boss & Me remake starring Aom and Push, so I hope it gets subbed.
Thank you @packmule3 and @Phoenix ☺️
I’m getting there with the help of medicine and fluids 😉 I actually went back to work today even if I still sound very nasally.
How did you go with starting King’s Avatar? I’ll start it tonight and hopefully it will hold my interest even if only for Yang Yang 😄🤞🏻
Oh some info on our best boyfriend, he did a birthday greeting video for Zheng Shuang and he was cute. He said ‘Wei Wei, Happy Birthday!’, among other things. I think she’s celebrating her birthday at a fan meet somewhere. I heard too that she’s supposed to be getting married in October to a non celeb bf. Best wishes to her if true. 😊
@Table122000 , I’ll start on P&P 1995 tonight. I know I still owe you my thoughts on it once I finish it. 😊
Yes, I loved Prissana, too. Thanks for recommending. I’ve to continue with it. I stopped after the ballroom dancing episode…no, the day after the ballroom when Tik invited everybody to go sailing and it was only Prissana with the energy to go with him. 😂 I was preparing myself mentally for some American-bashing because Prissana was raised American but returning to a more conservative environment. But so far, other than the incident about her short shorts (lol she shocked the natives!!) she’s holding her own. I like that.
Do you mind sharing the link again? I can’t remember where you posted it. Thanks!
Have you seen the original 1% of Something? I thought the actor Kang Dong Won nailed the petulance of the leading male. That’s why I couldn’t watch the remake.
And I don’t know if the remake condensed the story. There were cute scenes when the hero became jealous of the art teacher, he stressed out from driving the girl back and forth on dates before the parents’ curfew, he asked for the girl’s hand in marriage, he learned to curb his temper, he discovered he was going to be a dad…
I tried to look for the old version but I couldn’t find it. Rats.
@agdr03 Oh my, goodness. So sorry to hear that you are sick! Please take care of yourself and get well soon. Maybe you can watch P&P 1995 as you recover.
@pm3-
So glad you are enjoying Prissana (2000). It really is so good, I just wish it was more eaasily available for people to watch. I will give the links I have found. The YT playlist unfortunately the videos keep getting blocked, but the person usually finds a way to reload them i think. I will also include link to downloads list as that is usually the only way to see these episodes. Here is the link for the YT Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6FlTuR9oU5BnABHyLFnGyPxXDzey9peY
Here is Downloads List. Just copy and paste link into search engine and then you just check the box next to the episode you want to download and click download. You can then watch the episode on your PC with whatever video player you have on your PC.

As for 1% of Something… Yes, I have seen the original drama 1% of Anything with Kang Dong Won and I enjoyed it. I watched it years ago on Dramafever. (One more reason to miss DF!) I also really liked Kang Dong won’s performance. I have to admit I was skeptical about the remake, but I ended up enjoying the remake. It was different, but it was also really well done. And Ha Suk Jin does a very nice job in the male lead role. In some ways, I actually like it better than the 2003 original. I think the best way to view the 2 dramas is as separate entities because you are correct, 1% of Something was much shorter than the original drama 1% of Anything, so a lot of stuff was cut out for the length or changed to update the story and make it fresh. For example, in 2003 version, Dada & Grandpa have a lot of contact and a nice friendship, but that got deleted for the 2015 version. (I was sad) In 2003 version, Jae In’s mother was a doormat and bullied by the family but in 2015 version she is strong, super-rich in her own right and doesn’t take crap from anyone (I was so happy). Plus, 2003 original drama was actually considered a family drama and not a rom com, while 2015 remake is straight up rom com. So the tone of each one is different since they were trying to accomplish different things. If you watch them as considering them 2 completely different dramas, then you can enjoy both a lot. I would still encourage you to check 1% of Something out because I think you would be missing out on a really good rom com. That being said, you can watch original 1% of Anything on the “other sites”. I found it at Dramacool and DramaLoad. Dramaload has better video quality, but you have to watch it in “parts”. At Dramacool, it’s all one episode but the video quality is pretty bad. I give you the links for both:
DramaLoad (scroll down for the streaming links): http://www.dramaload.se/korean-drama-krtvs-1-of-anything/
Dramacool: https://www4.dramacool.video/drama-detail/one-percent-of-anything
Thanks, @table122000!
I see that my comment section is acting up again. And your post is being re-directed to spam box.
Thanks for the Prissana link again. I’ll open a blog post just for it so I don’t have to keep asking you for it. 😂
@Table122000 I liked the new 1% of Something kdrama too – it was so cute (and with lots of kisses😜). Perfect fluffy rom-com to watch when I’m feeling down.
@packmule3 I would love to re-watch the BBC P&P anytime. It is my favorite book-to-screen adaptations, and Colin Firth is Mr.Darcy personified (I think even Jane Austen would have agreed to that). He was born to play Mr.Darcy😍
@agdr03 Sending you hugs..do get well soon so we can watch King’s Avatar together and discuss 😃
You are welcome! I look forward to reading your thoughts about Prissana (2000) when you have finished the drama.
@Phoenix- oh my, yes! the kisses of 1% of Something-totally awesome! The more I watch Asian dramas the more I really appreciate 1% of Something as the rom com gem that it is. And a big part of that appreciation is how well the love scenes are done in that drama, and how satisfying they are as a viewer. (Sorry to the 2003 version, but the kiss and romance scenes are far far superior in 2015 version, imo) Unfortunately, the second female lead is still a psycho bitch, but we can’t have everything I guess. But yeah, I will agree 1% of Something is just perfect for a rom com binge when you are looking for a cute easy watch. And especially if you are wanting some good kisses! (As you know, my go to cute watch is Bride of the Century, but I have to admit the kisses in BOTC are average at best). Certainly nowhere near the caliber of 1% of Something. But then, few dramas are, really. Ha Suk Jin & Jeon So Min their on screen chemistry is wonderful and they are a joy to watch.
The idol actors that I like: Siwan and Kyungsoo Do, because they’re actually good.
We all have our favorites right? 😁 Hopefully Siwan’s drama is a good one so you can enjoy it 🙂
Thank you @Table122000 and @Phoenix , I am much better. I’m much better that I started P&P last night. After 2 episodes, I prefer it than P&P 2005. 😍 @Phoenix is right in saying that Colin Firth is born to be Mr Darcy and @Packmule3 is right in saying I will fangirl over him. 🤣 He is soooo uptight and has that ‘I don’t give a damn’ look but when he says something nice to Lizzy, I’m like 😍 I actually like them both equally. Their conversation (as small as it is from seeing 2 episodes only) is great. They click for me. Oh I can’t wait tonight to watch more. 🙂
Colin and Jennifer are a much better pairing for me than Keira and Matthew, this is just me. 🙂 I was laughing at some of the scenes like when Mr Darcy did nothing but stand there looking like a statue when he and Mr Bingley first met the Bennetts, when Mary played the piano and sang. LOL.
I am interested in the Flower Crew and Melt Me dramas. 🙂
I’ll check it when it comes out. 🙂
You know what? I haven’t finished MTF. I totally forgot about it. LOL. I should finish it.
@nrllee
Heh! I’m just as foggy as anyone!!! If you mean whether I was here in this blog spazzing about P&P, I’m actually no longer sure… I know I was talking about it on a blog somewhere and it might have been here!!! I’m in the same foggy boat as you LOL.
@agdr03 – I’m with you on the P&P pairing. I prefer Colin and Jennifer to Matthew and Keira. Matthew was playing him more like a limp rag, I felt… where was the more masterful, arrogant Mr Darcy whom we loved to denounce and then grow to love. A bit too sensitive a Mr Darcy for my liking.
I’m toying with the idea of watching Melt Me. I’ve always got a soft spot for Fantasy/Sci-Fi, I’ve liked Ji Chang Wook since Healer (my ultimate Healer!! Although he does not always choose projects well), and I have been wanting to watch how Won Jin Ah does now after Just Between Lover (another show I enthusiastically liked). I really liked her there.
It would be great if we could talk about Melt Me over here.
@Growing Beautifully , yes! Colin as Mr Darcy is more aloof and you really hate him right at the get go. I want to add that his voice actually makes him more manly to me. ☺️
I like Ji Chan Wook too after watching him in Healer. I watched K2 with Yoona but I didn’t think it was great and I haven’t watched him in Suspicious Partner too. I just want to see him again after his military service. The premise looks good. Hopefully it will be. ☺️ Let’s wait and see if it will interest @packmule3 😊.
Are you feeling better, @agdr03?
I wiki-ed “Melting me Softly.” The synopsis goes, “Ma Dong-chan (Ji Chang-wook) and Go Mi-ran (Won Jin-ah) are both frozen during an experiment. They wake up 20 years later instead of 24 hours later and must keep their body temperature above 30°C in order to survive.”
30 degrees Celsius is about 86 degrees Fahrenheit. But our normal body temp is 37 degrees Celsius or 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit. lol. I don’t know whether the synopsis meant that their body temp must hover around 30 degrees at all times to survive, or they can’t go way past 30 degrees because they’ll melt and die. hahaha. Anyway, if it’s the latter, then they can’t feel hot and bothered in each other’s presence, and kiss, and have sex (because of the heat generated). Are you sure you want to watch this, @agdr03?
@agdr03 Glad that you are feeling better and are enjoying P&P and Colin Firth 😛 Healer is one of my all-time favorite kdramas too. I liked Suspicious Partner too I think you can try it out some day.
Thank you for sharing that news about our Yang Yang wishing Zheng Shueng – I googled it any read the story on some Chinese site 🙂 I’ve barely been able to watch the first episode of King’s Avatar (and I’m really frustrated about it😤) because of too many meetings at work this week! I’m eagerly waiting for this weekend and then I’ll post on that open thread which @packmule3 very graciously posted for us😍
@packmule3 I cannot believe the
Writer-nim and PD will waste Ji Chang Wook’s kissing talents that way! A rom-com without kisses – what sacrilege!😱😱😱 But what do you know – someone cast Yang Yang too in a drama with no romance, only glory😪 What a waste of oppa’s pulchritude ( to borrow packmule3’s phrase 😛)
I liked Orange Marmalade’s Joseon era. I was actually thinking if I should rewatch OM or Producers to treat my HDL withdrawals.
Let’s just spazz over Ji ChangWook. 😂. I was weirded out by the Melt Me Softly synopsis but I am willing to suspend belief for JCW. And @PM3, because he’s been frozen for 20 years, his old flame (who aged whilst he didn’t 😂) is played by Yoon SeAh (she’s such a great actress). I hope I don’t end up shipping him with her instead of the younger lead. Like I did on K2… You can’t mention K2 without referencing that controversial men’s shower fight scene which was…what’s a polite way to phrase it…ahem…rather titillating…and the battle of the 2 Yoonas…Older Yoona and JCW…their scenes were so sexually charged even without intimacy. Even when he held the gun to her head for some reason the effect was just electric…and the way he walked her out of the room with the sprinklers going…let’s just say I rewatched that scene over and over…and to finish with his hand on the small of her back and growling his command, “Stand up straight. Your enemies are watching.” Or something to that effect… urgh… the scenes with him and the younger Yoona (Dances with Ramyeon) paled in comparison… Plot unraveled in a weird way towards the end…I didn’t finish it. 😂.
And while we are on the topic of JCW, I can’t forget that scene in Healer where snowflakes are falling and he walks over to PMY (whose eyes are covered by a white wool cap) and slowly kisses her **goosebumps** Which is why I think it’s an utter waste of JCW’s talents in a drama with no kissing scenes (I hope they won’t be stupid enough to attempt that) 😛
Okay. Okay. I get it. JCW kisses well. 🙂 But so does PMY! Let’s hope his co-star can kiss.
I didn’t finish “Healer”. Not sure why…maybe I had to travel where I couldn’t bring my personal devices.
I remembered a scene where he was accidentally trapped in the girl’s bedroom. He had to make like Spiderman and stick to underside of her bed or something.
Hahaha..@packmule3 that is too funny🤣🤣🤣 But to be fair, in his Healer alter-ego, JCW was supposed to be this vigilane sort of character jumping around and clinging to rooftops (and occasionally undersides of beds)😛 I do think you should give Healer a try again. Maybe you will like it this time 😊
I was neutral about the Healer. I honestly can’t remember why I dropped it so I’m blaming my work travel. lol. But was I right that he hid under the bed of PMY? I think he might even have touched PMY’s underwear or lingerie which she had left under the bed.
Another PMY kdrama I’ve to finish is the secretary one. “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?” or something.
Also, while we are talking of drama recommendations, if you want to see JCW’s co-star, Woh Jin Ah was awesome in Just Between Lovers. Junho, the lead actor, did a fabulous job as well. It’s one of my favorite dramas – not a light hearted one, but truly unforgettable. I saw @Table122000 recommend it too, and if you have not already watched it, ypu can try it out @pm3.
@Table122000: Marriage Not Dating is on my list of feel-good rom-coms to try out. Thanks for recommending it 🙂
I didn’t like What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim..I thought it started on a good premise where the minion secretary of 10 years at the beck and call of her self-absorbed boss (Park Seo Joon who I didn’t like here) wants to quit to get a life and her “me time”. But by the end, she is persuaded to stay on as the boss’ wife (I think she gave in ti too many of his wishes too willingly and never got to do what she wanted). That drama made me raving mad for some reason – it might have been just me but I didn’t finish it. I expect my heroines to have a bit more backbone and my heroes to be more understanding types.
Okay. Noted. I’d be annoyed, too, since she seemed to be assertive in the trailers.
I was going to watch it for PMY. Park Seo Joo’s face irritates me since I saw him in “She Was Pretty.”
I think I watched WWWSK because I wanted to see how they are together. There were a lot of kissing scenes there 😱 I thought they were good but the story was nothing to brag about too. Also I got annoyed with PSJ because of his answer to the rumour of them dating 😒
How come your still awake? 😊
I just got to sit down now after a very tiring day.
I am much better even with the sniffles every now and then. Thank you 😘
Well like I said I just want to see JCW for his post military service. If there’s no kissy kissy but the story is good, then I should be fine. I think 🤔😂 Maybe I’m getting used to the no kisses in the dramas as I’m getting on with age? 😆
@nrllee , @GB , @Phoenix and I just want to spazz (borrowing from @nrllee) on JCW. 😂 Let’s just watch the first 2 episodes and then decide if we will continue please? ☺️
@Phoenix , no worries about King’s Avatar. I’ll start it this weekend too so we can comment on the blog that @packmule3 has kindly created for us. 😊 I agree that it’s a waste that there’s no romantic side to it. But our Yang Yang still looks good. 😍
I’m actually waiting for his movie with Jackie Chan called Vanguard because I saw some previews on Instagram but not sure now when it’ll be shown.
Ohhh that snow kissing scene in Healer was hot 😄 I enjoyed that. 😉
@nrllee Hell is other People you asked:
My take on this show is that it’s more mystery-suspense. But you can certainly bail if it gets horrific.
And about K2 yes… LOL … I had a hard time finishing it eventhough I do like JCW. The sizzle was with the wrong duo and the ending was forgettable (I’ve forgotten!). LOL ‘dances with ramyeon’! Character was written lame and poor Yoona did not have the experience to do anything much with it.
@agdr03 @Phoenix Seems I’m in good Healer-loving company here. I was the happy camper on DB raising the comment count by 100s on the Healer threads. If you ever bother to check, the comment count for a couple of episodes has never been broken. I won’t include the last episode as that one had a whole bunch of other stuff in there with us doing wild partying on the thread. But even the threads before that had above average number of comments, which I trust was mostly a sign that viewers expressed great enjoyment.
@Phoenix the Healer ‘snow kiss’ was wonderful. A whole bunch of us conjectured that she could easily have seen enough of his face through the threads of that cap, but maybe she kept her eyes closed? A risky thing to do though … reckless girl letting a strange, unseen man kiss her!! Heh!
@packmule2 Healer was hiding under Young Shin’s bed to avoid being seen by her. She was not happy about tidying up her room and kicked her pajamas bottom, which she’d just wriggled out of and which was on the floor, under her bed … onto Healer’s face LOL. He was soooo disgusted.
I could not finish WWWSK. Couldn’t stand the romantic scenes after a while. The childhood backstory was too deliberately included to add some needed conflict. There actually was hardly any conflict after the first half.
@agdr03 Sure I’m all in if we cover Melt Me over here. I’m always game to try another fantasy/sci-fi show and with Won Ji Nah and JCW, it will be even better.
As of Just Between Lovers, I strongly recommend it to anyone who’d like a warm, touching, healing show, but with a serious comment on how society fails those suffering from trauma/loss. I felt soooo much for the ‘boy’. Loved the resolution that made so much sense to me. The organic romance was wonderful and the heartfelt relationships were gold!
@GB: I really wish I had watched Healer at that time – would have enjoyed all the comments on DB. The kdrama bug hit me only in 2016, which was after Healer’s time. Ooh..I would have loved to debate on whether she could see Healer’s face through the threads of that cap or not! I don’t know how many times I have rewinded and watched that slow rolling up of the cap from her lips and subsequent kiss scene. Also the famous backhug screen later when she’s cooking and JCW comes and hugs her from the back – this is after she comes to know that he is the Healer..heady stuff😍
Like I said, I had liked Suspicious Partner too – both the story as well as JCW-NJH chemistry. So I’m all in for trying out Melt Me and spazzing over JCW (@nrllee: what a wonderful expression😛)
@GB: I completely agree with you about Just Between Lovers. It’s such a heartwarming drama about the triumph of human spirit and love over loss and despair – of how people slowly learn to move on from their past. I felt so much for the boy too, especially because he acted so tough on the surface but was hurting so much inside. Their slow building romance was just perfect – how shared trauma brings together two fractured people and helps them heal..one of the few dramas that left me with tears in my eyes..not from sorrow or depression, but just because it made me feel so much.
@agdr03: So good to know you are feeling better. Hope your sniffles ho away soon too!😊😊 If not now, then they are sure to be gone after taking @pm3’s special chicken soup for the soul 😜😜😜
@GB , I can’t remember when I watched Healer but I did enjoy it and yes, a bit reckless for her to just let this guy kiss her without seeing him but then the feels though 😍😄
@Phoenix, oh the chicken soup gave me good memories of the dramas I love which now includes cdramas ☺️ My soul was happy 😉
Okay I need to clarify that I used “spazz” in accordance with Aussie teenage lingo. Daughter dear uses it as an expression to depict “fan girling”. So I presumed that was what it meant. I pick up their lingo and presume a lot 😂 as a means to communicate. It’s like learning another language sometimes. So imagine my horror (when I googled it) to find that it was derogatory and offensive 😳. Pardon me. And it doesn’t mean fan girling at all…it means lose “emotional or physical control” (in anger) when used as a verb. I guess it could be expanded to mean that but technically it shouldn’t be. A thousand apologies. 😂
@GB, I re-edited this comment to add the end of “blockquote.” 🙂
Hope you don’t mind.
@agdr03- Glad you are feeling better and enjoying P&P 1995. Yes, Colin Firth was born to play the role of Mr. Darcy. That performance catapulted him to the A-List (and deservedly so). Yes, he and Jennifer Ehle just work so well together in this drama. The whole cast is great-it’s truly an ensemble drama. I also really liked Allison Steadman as Mrs. Bennet and David Bamber kills it as Mr. Collins!
@Phoenix- Oh, so glad you are going to give Marriage Not Dating a try! It is so funny and the on screen chemistry between Yeon Woo Jin and Han Groo is great. Even the sound effects are funny! I’ll be interested to read your take on the drama as it’s my #1 fave rom com.
Ji Chang Wook- he is a nice kisser and I enjoyed his dramas of Healer and Suspicious Partner. I watched a little of K2, which was OK. I enjoyed the action scenes (including the shower scene, which I thought was rather innovative because he takes everone down with just a bar of soap and a washcloth) but the romance with Yoona was just OK for me. Melt Me, well, I like the leads of Won Jin Na and Ji Chang Wook, but I’m still not sure about the plot of the drama. I am hoping that JCW will give kissing lessons to WJN and show her how it’s done because she needs help with her kissing skills. I loved her performance in Just Between Lovers but her kiss scenes need some work. Junho and the PD tried their best to hide the flaws, but if she wants to succeed as an actress she needs to get more comfortable with the kiss scenes.
My kiss scene issues aside, I loved Just Between Lovers! Fantastic drama for all of the reasons stated previously by everyone here in the forum. Plus just a great romantic drama! The development of the relationship between the main leads is very well done. Plus, how could I not fall in love with this couple’s romance when one of their first dates is the 2 of them reading books together? (It’s the same book because male lead wants to share his enthusiam for it with her) I loved that scene soo much! Also, the drama is beautifully shot-PD knows how to frame a scene.
@nrlee- don’t feel bad about using the term “spazzing”. I have never seen it used in the context of k drama fandom for anything other than to describe “fangirling”, so while it may be a negative term elsewhere, I do not believe it is used that way here in this community. That being said, I understand your feelings about the term and respect that you do not want to use it. Also, just FYI, according to the Urban Dictionary, their explanation used fangirling, not anger, so I think the term is evolving to include other meanings: https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Spazzing%20out
But, yes, it can be more of a negative term. Here is the definition of spaz from Webster’s Dictionary: https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/spaz
Hi, again.
So many dramas, and so little time.
I can’t keep up with it, and I don’t have much time to look at it right now.
I had a drama period at the beginning of the year, and I saw some masterpieces.
– Empress Ki. A drama whose rhythm is hectic from beginning to end. In my top 5 now.
– Sandglass. Produced in 1995, Top 3 audience of all time in South Korea. Realistic, very well shot, with a tragic, depressive, neurasthenic and pathetic atmosphere thanks to the soundtrack. It’s even worse, it’s just like all was allready over. Be sure you will cry as never at the end. It’s a pity that part of the Dramaworld didn’t persist in this way.
– Queen Seondeok. Here it is mainly the actress Go Hyun-jung who makes the drama, in the role of the evil lady Mishil. She’s damn so good at to be bad !
@packmule3 No problem and thanks! Please do edit my comments if I’ve obviously omitted the closing codes.
= = =
BTW, I did not respond to the 1% of Something chat above, but I was another one who really liked the 2015 version. Although the production value was low, it cut to the chase (literally how he chased her) and had all the scenes we really wanted to watch with less of the time-wasting stuff. It was filled with great dates and growing skinship, and although he was a bit of a boor at times, he grew and he really cared for her. I liked how he tried so hard to let her go and the reasons why.
Anyway, that was a romance through and through – everything else including most of gramps’ parts can be ignored. He was just there to get the couple together, and the rest was cute growing into couple-hood.
@nrllee , no need to say sorry about the spazz word. Im sure the way daughter dear used it definitely sounded like fangirling. I’d prefer to use it actually especially when it comes to Yang Yang 😄
@Table122000 , I am thoroughly enjoying the mini series. I’m on episode 5 already. I just love Mr Darcy and Lizzy’s interaction, it’s so natural. 😍 I had goosebumps with the eye contact scene when Georgiana was playing the piano and Lizzy was next to her while Mr Darcy was sitting the sofa. I was electrocuted in a nice way. 😍
Put me down for JCW and Melt Me too! Maybe a decent Chinese one will come out in the meantime too. We were spoiled for cdrama choices for a bit, but seem to have a dearth recently. I read somewhere the govt had pulled the plug or something on the historical fantasies?
@agdr03-Yes, the scenes at Pemberley are so good. I like it when Mr. Darcy rushes to the carriage after he learns Elizabeth is there with her relatives taking a tour and is like “please, don’t leave, let me show you around”. (hahaha!) I think this is just after his famous “swim in the lake” scene.
@Growing Beautifully- Yes,Exactly! 1% of Something 2015 worked because they just cut out all of the filler parts you usually see in a typical rom com and kept the focus on the main leads romance. I agree with you that the separation stroy arc was well done, and I also liked when Jae In explained his reasons for staying away and they made sense.
@Barbey- Yes, China government sent message that the vast majority of dramas for the autumn should be dramas that celebrate the history of People’s Republic as the 70th anniversary of the founding is Oct. 1, 2019 I think there was article at another site saying all the dramas for 100 days will be about this 70 years period. No fantasy dramas allowed.
@Table thanks for clarification.
Loved 1% of Something as well. Liked the first one but it dragged and the girl kind of wimped out somehow. The second one was pure fluff but great fluff and I looked forward to it every week.
Arsenal Military Academy – six episodes in and I’m really enjoying it. Good production quality and acting. Fun story. Apparently the director had to cut out most of the romantic scenes but I’m enjoying the school, buddy aspect of it too, and the two main leads are kind of smoking in their chemistry so even their fighting or friendship is pretty hot!
ahh the king’s avatar is going pretty good for me so far. i actually just started it off by watching my sister watch it because currently she’s watching it so my brother and i just watched along her. yang yang is just beautiful. so far it’s quite interesting, it’s funny how although im on episode 23ish, i never watched the first few episodes, just continued to watch from where my sister started. i’ll definitely watch the first few episodes after i finish it. oh also fun fact, the king’s avatar is based on a novel but you guys probably knew that. my sister’s boyfriend read it and apparently its over 1500 chapters, maybe if i have time ill try to read the translated version
@agdr03 who doesn’t fangirl over him, like whew he certainly is eye candy. i really enjoyed him in both love O2O and the whirlwind girl.
speaking of WWWSK it was okay, i didn’t like the ceo’s character it was just eh. and love alarm i liked the main female lead and the app developer, the two main boy leads were annoying af, oh also her so-called “best friend” and the cousin.
anyways i haven’t thought of a new drama to watch. i wanted to start something in the rain but it didn’t really interest me. maybe ill find a new drama eventually haha.
Was King’s avatar a novel or a comic book? There’s a separate open thread here in the blog. You might want to join @phoenix and @agdr03 over there. 😂 I’m only at Ep 1 and still have to finish Go Go Squid.
@Table122000 , yes the Pemberley scenes are swoon worthy. To add to that swim in the lake, when he saw her he was so surprised that he asked about her parents twice. LOL. Mr Darcy can be caught off guard too. 🙂
@Barbrey , I love the pairing in Arsenal Military Academy after watching their other cdrama, The Legends and because of that I’m watching it without subs. LOL. I’m on episode 38. It’s a bit tricky though with the girl pretending to be a boy but really besides her haircut (which Bai Lu did do – good on her) her voice sounds like a girl. hehehe Anyway, it’s a pity they had to cut the romance down but I can understand because it’s a military drama with shooting/killing etc.
@judy , I love Yang Yang because of LoveO2O but I didn’t watch the whirlwind girl drama. I haven’t started watching it because I got busy this weekend. I have to focus on it right from the start because it’s another game drama. 🙂
@agdr03, I did see The Legends and loved them, if not the show in total, but she had a far meatier role than him. So I wasn’t sure about his acting, but I actually really like him in this one, his character’s a brat and the actor is doing a great job.
@Barbrey , I just picked The Legends from Viki with me just wanting to start another cdrama but I got hooked because of them 🙂 That was my first time watching them so yeah I can’t say anything about Xu Kai’s acting then but agree that he is very funny in his character as Gu Yan Zheng in AMA. 🙂 He’s very outspoken and is always taking up space with Xie Xiang. hahahah
Because I’m sometimes that sort of person who wants to know in advance… I’ve been tallying us over here … So far I’ve noted 5 of us down for willing to watch Melt Me/Melting Me Softly ie @nrllee, @agdr03, @Phoenix, @Barbrey and myself, with @Table122000 undecided.
Are there any others interested?
I’m definitely down for Melt Me as indicated, but as it doesn’t start for a month is anyone up for the last “season” of Arthdal.? Did you watch any of it so far, Packmule3? I’ve watched it so far, the second part was much better than the first and I’m hoping it ends with a bang. Wondering what all that money was invested in too, other than make-up and Song Joon Ki’s salary. Maybe we’ll find out in the third part!
Luckily for me, I had no expectations for this drama (I never do anymore for dramas), knew nothing about its budget, care nothing about Song Joong Ki,so the fact it’s mediocre (and is it me, or is the story a bit stupid?) didn’t devastate me. I also don’t find it boring, which is the surest way for me to drop a drama (and I drop at least 7/10 that I start). So I can’t heartily recommend it but it’s got an intrigue value that’s kept me going.
@Table122000: I finished watching Marriage Not Dating. Thanks for the recommendation 😊 While I didn’t love it, there were funny parts in it which I enjoyed. I liked the family dynamics too and especially how the relationship issues were resolved in the end. Don’t know why but I liked the mother-in-law/daughter-in-law relationship more than the OTP and other side romance developments 😛
I just read this and thought I might try it. Anyone here interested in a soon to be aired romance drama?
http://www.dramabeans.com/2019/09/kang-haneul-becomes-shy-for-gong-hyo-jin-in-new-promo-for-when-camellia-blooms/
I can check it out later. I’m focusing on the 9-11 memorial services for tomorrow. I always feel a certain malaise around this time of the year.
Will be back home on Friday and can restart on kdramas afterwards. Meanwhile, I’ve uploaded a couple of write-ups to automatically post while I’m gone. lol. Let’s see if I did timed correctly. It’s a hit-and-miss with me, given my techie skills.
It’s Chuseok, too, in SKorea this weekend, isn’t it?
@packmule3 I believe the Camellia show starts on the 19th Sep. I’ll only be able to really watch it properly later. However it seemed a simple enough premise from the article and the actors are quite good.
I’m going to add one more new drama to the list, though it’s not a rom-com. It’s a thriller and I occasionally like those too. It’s called ‘The Lies Within’ and premiers in Oct.beginning. Hopefully it will be subbed on any of the ‘other’ sites, I’m going to give it a try as it stars Lee Min Ki, who I’ve liked ever since ‘Because This is My First Life’ and later ‘Beauty Inside’. I saw the first trailer yesterday and it looks kind of intriguing.
I’m also reading a lot of good things about ‘Graceful Family’, mainly because it centers on a strong female character who wants to avenge the murder of her mother. It’s on Viki, so may check out one episode if I feel like it (I remember someone here mentioning it too, I think it was @Table122000).
@Phoenix , I saw that trailer for The Lies Within but I got turned off by Lee Min Ki’s hairstyle. LOL! I loved him in Beauty Inside. I’m not sure I’m up for another thriller though. 🙂
Wow, all my fave actors with dramas at the same time. Kang Haneul, Ji Chang Wook and Li Min Ki. I’ll be checking them all out.
I’ve been complaining about Li Min Ki’s roles lately not giving him much outlet for his acting chops so even though a thriller, I’ll check that one out just to check out his character. Loved him in a realistic movie called Very Ordinary Couple, btw, that you can see on any site, as well as that ghost one Spellbound.
@agdr03: Haha..I didn’t like his hairstyle in Because Thus is My First Life too, but his character grew on me 🙂 So let’s see about this one. Will read a few premiere reviews and decide once it starts airing.
@Barbrey: I’ve been searching for an Eng subbed version of Spellbound for a long time, but without any success on the ‘other’ sites, and it’snot available on Viki here too. Would you happen to know where to find it? I would love to try Ordinary Couple too , if Eng.sub is available.
@Phoenix, Spellbound is on Viki for Canada, also at kissasian. VOC is at fastdrama.me I think. Had to Google these myself as I saw them so long ago. Happy watching.
@Barbrey: Thank you 💕 Don’t know why but last time I checked on Google, I couldn’t find Spellbound – must have not looked properly😛 If it’s on Kissasian, then I should be able to view it too. I found the premise of that movie interesting, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to handle watching the scary parts alone.
I’ll try the VOC link. I wasn’t aware of that movie, but read the synopsis and it sounds interesting.
Preview of the Camellia Show: When the Camellia Blooms
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prl2MXJQSKo
Looks simple but sweet.
Are you trying to lobby me to watch Camellia, @GB?
hahaha.
I’m looking at the relationship charts.
Hi @packmule3 Heheheh! Looks that way, doesn’t it?
Actually, seriously, no, 🤔 not lobbying anyone to watch, but I came across the trailer and thought to follow up by posting it here. 😌 However it would be interesting to see if what looks simple from the outset is actually more intriguingly complicated.
I was wondering how the 10-year age difference would look, and whether there’d be any worthwhile conflict. I didn’t read the details and so it’s news to me that there’s a serial killer at hand, so not such a ‘simple and sweet’ show after all. What a hoot if it turned out that the expected victim was the killer instead!
I myself will give it a couple of episodes or more and decide if I’ll watch more.
I’m more inclined to watch Melt Me but that will be starting only the week after. Anyway, I’ll see what I can squeeze in, if my brain is not too fried by the time show starts. 🤪
@Phoenix- So glad that you enjoyed Marriage Not Dating and found it somewhat amusing, at least. Yes, the mother-in-law/daughter-in-law relationship was one of the best parts of this drama, I agree. I think their “break up” was probably the most traumatic part of the show for me. Loved their “team up” against the mistress in Ep. 11! So satisfying to see them working together at last. (and that brawl was so funny as well)
Also, yes, it was me that mentioned Graceful Family/Elegant Family on the potential dramas list. I heard last episode included a “fish funeral” so I’m definitely going to check this one out. I’ve only heard good things about the female lead character and I do like a nice mystery. Although this drama might have more of a “black comedy” feel than I first thought. I still have to finish Before We Get Married though and then I will be ready to start a new drama. Real life keeps getting in the way of my drama watching.
Not sure about The Lies Within-the synopsis I read made it sound more like a political thriller/mystery, which I’m not too keen on. I’ll wait to see what the reviews are like after it starts. I’m more excited about the Leverage remake starring Lee Dong Gun. I really enjoyed the US original show. I hope that it gets subbed!
@Table122000: Do finish Before We Get Married first..because I finished it and liked it till the end, and am waiting for your thoughts 😛 I’ve already posted my thoughts on that thread because I just needed to share my love for that show😍
Marriage, Not Dating was enjoyable, though I found the humor too forced or loud at times. I also am not sure I got the “feels” from the OTP as much as I wiuld gave liked to. But I did enjoy the relationship that grows with the mother-in-law, granny and aunt. That was true women power at the end!
I started “Graceful Family” this weekend and am totally hooked now! A great heroine centric story and lots of twists and turns and interesting characters with dubious motives – I’m going to keep watching this one for now 😊 I think I’m a bit bired of the pure romcoms🙄
That fish funeral scene in ‘Graceful Family’ was epic and hilarious at the same time..and what an entry by Im Soo Hyang – she’s totally awesome in the role of the fearless wronged heiress fighting a lone battle against her own powerful family. Her role in this drama is so different from the timid and self-conscious college girl in her previous drama ‘My ID is Gangnam beauty’. The righteous and calm lawyer who accidentally becomes her ally is just the perfect foil for her fiery personality. I liked all 6 episodes so far and I’m hoping it continues to be exciting.
@Phoenix- Now that I’ve read your impressions on Graceful Family, it definitely sounds like my kind of drama. Will surely have to check it out. I’m still working on BWGM.
@Table122000: I know..so many dramas to check out and so little time 😪😪😪
I’m still not sure about When The Camellia Blooms and Flower Crew but I am definitely going to watch Vagabond and Melt Me.
That’s all for me for now as I am trying to finish GGS and MTF and hopefully get to more episode of King’s Avatar. 🙂
@agdr03: Yes, I saw a few more teasers of Melting Me and JCW😍. I still need to start on King’s Avatar, I got sidetracked last week by Graceful Family🙈🙈
No worries @Phoenix , I’ve only watched episode 1 of King’s Avatar. I’ll finish my other 2 dramas then concentrate on Yang Yang 😆
Though after reading the last recap of Love O2O by @packmule3 , I feel like going back to Dashen and WeiWei 😍
@Phoenix , Graceful Family is on Viki too and it’s streaming all episodes. I’m just not into the leading actress that’s why I can’t get into it 😬
I’m almost finished with my cdramas so hopefully I can get back to King’s Avatar. 😊
@agdr03 Yes I’m watching Graceful Family on Viki. I think their subs are okay, even if there was a poem translation in the last episide tgat felt a bit off. Will need to look at it on the “other” sites to find a different interpretation.
I’m going to watch Vagabond ep.1 next and then start with King’s Avatar too, hopefully tomorrow. Yaay the weekend is finally here🎉🎉🎉
Hi All, I’m not saying that we should take this as our next drama, but I just caught Episode 1 of Pegasus Market and found it hilarious (at least the parts where I could stay awake to watch because I’m actually very tired.) It’s whacky in an unusual way. May not be everyone’s cup of tea or strike everyone as funny, but it did me!
What happened? After a week or so of calm, drama-free recess, we’re inundated with many dramas to review? I can’t catch up. 🤪
Is Pegasus Market on Netflix? I think I like one of the leads here. The Reply 1988 guy. And the Reaper from Hotel del Luna is here, too.
Finishing up Camellia review…
@packmule3: Pegasus Market is available with english subs at ONDemandKorea: https://www.ondemandkorea.com/pegasus-market-e01.html
FYI: Graceful Family is also available with english subs at OnDemandKorea under the title Elegant Family.
Yes, the autumn drama season is now beginning and we have so many dramas coming out now and in the next few weeks. (Tale of Nokdu-can’t wait!) I am glad that most of these dramas will be available outside of Viki because Viki is having a big crisis right now, and I am not sure when things will be resolved. I know a lot of people here are looking forward to Melting Me Softly which is on Viki. Luckily, it is also liscensed by VIU so there will be english subs available on the “other sites” if necessary.
I’m actually interested in Tale of Nokdu as well 🙂
