I’m expecting the third trailer for the drama to drop in the next couple of weeks.
Meanwhile let’s all enjoy this new stills of Woo Do Hwan released by SBS.

Remember this about his character:
Joining them is Woo Do Hwan, who will play two roles as Jo Eun Seob and Jo Young. In Jung Tae Eul’s realm, Jo Eun Seob is working as a public service worker for the police. He had many dreams growing up but when his parents unexpectedly have twins in his fourth year of college, he’s forced to take a break from his studies and take care of his younger siblings. Then, when he returns to school, he gets in a car accident trying to save a young child, and just when he’s ready to leave the hospital, he gets his enlistment orders. He has just a few days left before he is discharged when he comes across Lee Gon.
In the other world, Jo Young is a bodyguard for Lee Gon, and is well-versed in all types of weaponry from swords to guns. Jo Young first met Lee Gon when he was four, after the uprising, and he vowed to make Lee Gon happy. Because of a special bond they formed growing up, Lee Gon only seems to let himself laugh around Jo Young, and is also willing to cry in front of him as well.

In short, in his previous life, he was Lee Gon’s bodyguard. In his present life, he’s a “public service worker for the police.” I guess that means he’s serving his compulsory military enlistment in nonactive duty.
More from wiki:
Non-active duty personnel, or “supplemental service” personnel, serve for various lengths: 1 year 9 months for social work personnel (better known as public service worker – a personnel ordered to do public service work at places that require auxiliary workers such as Local community centers like City Hall, Government Agencies, and Public Facilities like Subway Station)…

In other words, his character was like Lee MinHo in real life. LMH also served as a public service worker. (See what I did there? I pivoted the conversation back to LMH. pwahahahaha.)
LMH was deemed “unfit” for combat duties because of injuries he suffered in a 2006 car accident with his friend Jung Il-woo and a 2011 filming accident while taping “City Hunter.” He was a public service worker at the Suseo Social Welfare Center in…guess where?…Gangnam, Seoul. Because he wasn’t dispatched to some inaccessible mountain top with tigers, bears, boars, snakes, and dragons as company, his fans were able to stalk the guy. (Well, one could argue that with crazy fans around, who needs mountain tigers, bears, boars, snakes and dragons?)

I swear. This guy doesn’t need stills. Even when wearing ordinary sweatshirts, pants, sneakers and face mask, he’d still turn heads.
When the poor guy ended his service last April 25 2019, his fans gathered in the drizzle (I hope not for hours!) to catch a glimpse of his 4-second bow. lol. These are the fans who are breathlessly waiting for his kdrama. Just saying.

You’re a secret fan of him, right? 🤣
Oh an Ahjumma (with an umbrella) gave him a gift too? Cute 🙂
‘Because of a special bond they formed growing up, Lee Gon only seems to let himself laugh around Jo Young, and is also willing to cry in front of him as well.’
Bring on the bromance!
“ Bring on the bromance!”
Banned word alert #bromance. 😂. Must admit those still of WDH? Yummy. Much like Keanu in his Matrix garb… Mr Anderson. I love clean cut chic.
As for unfit for duties? Err… okay. 😑
Yay! Something to brighten the day for all Shallow Island residents!
I’m pretty sure I am exempt from the banned word alert because I’m not a newbie.
🤪 Is that correct @packmule3 ? Right on, yummy WDH! 😍
As for unfit for duties? Err… okay. 😑
I can’t comment. 😂
😂 yeah. I saw her use that B word.
Yes, Woo Do Hwan and Lee Jae Wook have the same appeal to me. They have the same stillness, that inert energy in them, that whenever the camera focuses on their faces in a tight shot, their intensity comes through, without them needing to overact or shout.
I like that.
Yes. You’re given a pass. Just you. 🦀
Unfit for duties. 😜 I’m not asking for his medical records but yes, it does make me wonder who does those stunts. I guess he has a body double then? What about horseback riding? Can he do that himself?
Phoenix is writing something about her drama boyfriend. 😂
I hope it’s entertaining.
Yes. You’re given a pass. Just you. 🦀
Thank you. 🙂 There goes my special emoji too. hehehe I will try not to use it often here.
I hope The King has been pre-produced. It would be a bummer if they were to postpone it because of the coronavirus. 🙂
Good point. But those loyal fans that’s been waiting for his comeback, it would be heartbreaking for them.
At this point who knows what will end up being shown to us. I’m just glad there’s a few that I like and love that’s in Netflix and Viki already. 🙂
Okay I just googled his leg injury and yes it looks legitimate. His right leg was pretty badly damaged during a car accident – multiple fractures requiring a plate. He was in rehab for a year (according to a fan girl) so it must’ve been serious. So I give him a pass on his inability to perform active combat duty and therefore the desk job whilst serving his national service. A friend of mine was confined to a desk job during his national service for far less…he was flat footed. And during that time (a long while ago), there was no such thing as orthothics for army boots… or anything of the like. He couldn’t do long marches in the mud, he would pull up sore and wouldn’t be able to walk after. So they gave him a desk job during his national service. I humbly apologize to fan girls of LMH, his Highness (May his name endure forever) for having the audacity to doubt his impeccable character. I deserve to be exiled on Cynical Island, serving out my sentence by being doomed to peer through binoculars in a vain attempt to ogle at WDH from afar.
@nrllee , I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. 😂
LMH, his Highness (May his name endure forever)
Have you copyright-ed that? LOL.
Yes! My boy Woo Do Hwan is looking fine as I relax here on Shallow Island! His bodyguard role sounds pretty important to the story since he is the king’s BFF. Hopefully, he will get the full “KES Effect” for a big boost to his career like other second leads have done in the past such as Kim Woo Bin in Heirs.
Yes, LMH car accident was very serious, not just a fender bender. There were 4 of them in the car and it was a head on collision. Another car crossed the median into their lane and hit them head on. 2 of them died and LMH and Jung Il Woo survived. JIW sustained cerebral hemmorage, crushed wrist and cracked pelvis and was also in the hospital for months. Later he developed a brain aneurysm. As a result of the rod being put into his leg, LMH has permanent one leg shorter than the other.
Woo Do Hwan is handsome and charismatic! He acted with Yoo Ji Tae and Jang Hyuk and he wasn’t overshadowed by them. I really like his voice too.
It’s sad that is only lead role was in a very bad drama with not a very actress as a lead.
I like Wo Do Hwan’s stills. Will need to wait and watch him in The King-Eternal Monarch. Maybe he will be more entrancing than His Highness (May his name endure forever)…by the way, I love that, @nrllee 🙂
LMH’s fans Re so noisy?! They were screaming in that video! Maybe they do this as a normal practice. Hence the term ‘rabid fans’ 😛
“Phoenix is writing something about her drama boyfriend. 😂”
Can’t decide on one, @packmule3 🙁 Still thinking…..
Here’s some stills from Soompi.

New stills out? Thanks. It’s that time of the week I guess. They sure drop these promos , and teasers like clockwork.
Yes, I also saw Table122000 mention something about netflix. I’ll have to look for her comment because I only skimmed it.
