Heh! @pkml3, thanks. That was one stellar kiss scene. I’d really like to watch the BTS of that.

Here’s the video clip of the same scene from Swoon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IYR5mNPyLY

And here are other BTS compiled. The very long URL bring us to many related videos.

  2. Thanks for all the BTS @ GB, and thank you @packmule for the new thread!

Am copying my comment on the previous thread over here to continue the discussion:

@snowflower thanks for the episode name! @nrllee good point that the show only takes certain aspects of each tale to weave into the plot.

@GB I also went digging earlier and found the reference to the movie as well as the Korean tale that it referenced. There is also mention of a sister in the story of Bluebeard: it is the sister that visits and later saves the protagonist from being killed by Bluebeard.

I went to rewatch certain scenes in Ep11/12 and realized that:
    1. The killer might not be DHJ, even though she has been pictured wearing a similar butterfly brooch. Some of you mentioned that the brooch was pinned on the left for the killer, but on the right for MY’s mum, which may suggest it is not MY’s mother who killed GT’s mother. MY’s mum was always pictured with painted nails, and a ring on her left hand, this is shown when she strokes MY’s hair. However, when the killer strokes ST’s hair, we see that her nails are not painted, and she does not wear a ring. Also, in the scenes in the basement, the unknown lady who takes the butterfly brooch out of the drawer has short hair, which tells me it is not MY’s mother (since her mother emphasised how long hair was the link between mother and daughter).

    2. Perhaps the killer was POR. Ju-ri mentions that POR was last seen entering the entrance to the mountain (which I assume is the tunnel where GT’s mother was killed, and this is followed by Nurse Park asking Juri to have POR’s things packed up). I have a feeling Nurse Park knows more than she reveals, but like some of you have mentioned, she doesn’t seem to be evil. So it might be the killer was POR, but KDH had thought it was his wife… and that misunderstanding led to him killing his wife in a fit of rage (like in Othello, as POR has hinted).

    3. In the film of the tale of 2 sisters, the older sister thinks that the younger is still alive, and acts out the part of the younger. It makes me wonder if perhaps it is POR and DHJ that are sisters, and POR is acting out things that she thinks her sister might do (ie. kill GT’s mother). This would explain how she is familiar with many personal details, like the location of the castle, MY’s birthday etc. The brooch, with the 2 butterflies, may be used to represent sisterhood rather than motherhood, just like how there are constant references to GT being the LITTLE brother, and the 2 differently sized starfish in GT/ST’s shared room in the castle. Like in Bluebeard, the husband is not aware that his wife has a sister.

    4. There is another portrait that was featured, but not prominently: the framed photo on POR’s bedside table. We see the photo twice as GT packs up her things. A lady is in the foreground, dressed theatrically in furs (she looks somewhat like a witch), she is flanked by 2 children who look similar and around the age of MY when she took her family portrait, and there is also 2 others standing behind. I wonder if this portrait is significant.

    5. I think some of you mentioned the significance of the number 3? I noticed there are many references to 3 within POR’s belongings. She was studying Book 3 of the Western Witch series, and had many note cards stuffed inside the book (It is Book 9 that is passed to ST). In her notebook, there is a “flowchart” of 3 items circled and arrows connecting those 3 points to another point. There is also a sketch of what seems to be lighting directions, interestingly enough the sketch shows one stick figure, with 2 other stick figures coming from it (so 3 stick figures), and 2 other shadows. It makes me wonder if (I know this is a big stretch, but just thinking aloud), it may be that there are actually 3 sisters in total: DJH, POR, and Nurse Park. (Random idea: The show has many references to Shakespeare. GB, you mentioned about the 3 witches in Macbeth. In another of Shakespeare’s plays, there are 3 sisters, who are the daughters of King Lear. 2 are “bad”, and one is “good”, and the good one is sent away. Perhaps it may be that Nurse Park may be the “good” sister. We did discuss that Nurse Park may have been POR’s sister after all!)

  3. @nrllee, wrt your ideas: I agree that the lady should be POR, and that like in Othello, POR was the killer.

I assume MY does not have a sister, otherwise she def would remember/mention her. I am thinking that the sister link would be between POR and MY’s mother. POR is shown to be an obsessive fan… perhaps she was not just a fan, but MY’s sister. In the retelling of Bluebeard, we are told DHJ turned up, with little known of her, and she married Bluebeard. Perhaps DHJ married KDH and never told him she had a sister, just like Bluebeard’s last wife.

Perhaps in the photo, the 2 girls might be MY, and MY’s cousin (ie POR’s daughter), dressed like twins to act in a play starring POR. (There are Shakespearean plays with twins in them). If the relationship between MY’s mum and POR is kept secret, MY would not know that the other child is actually her cousin? Hence, I am wondering if the meeting of POR with GT’s mum might have to do with GT’s mother representing social services, trying to take over the custody of her own child (not MY, but her cousin), on the account of POR not being of sound mind and hence not being suitable to care for her own child. This would explain why the killer would say she would care of her own child, and why she might stab GT’s mother. Ep 1’s Go Eun and her father would then be a hint to this, since the father also did not want to be sep from his child though he was deemed unfit to care for her.

Also MY recalls seeing 2 different forms of dying, as @GB has noted. She describes her mother as having limbs twisted etc… but does not mention anything about drowning. However, we are shown she might have witnessed a drowning. Could it be that the drowning was not of her mother, but of her cousin, who might have tried to kill herself, or was killed by POR (just like how Go Eun’s father tried to kill his own daughter), because she had to be sep from her mum (POR)? MY would not be aware that this girl was her cousin, if the relationship between POR and DHJ was kept secret.

In the film the tale of 2 sisters, we see how the older sister acts out the younger sister, which might be what POR is now doing. Also, there is the presence of the ghost of the younger sister in the film.. .which in this case might be the ghost of POR’s child? That would explain the wet footprints.

Finally, if Nurse Park is related to POR, she might just be trying to keep POR safe and out of mischief by keeping her in the hospital where she can keep an eye on her. When POR runs away, and is seen at the entrance to the tunnel, Nurse Park immediately gives instructions to pack up POR’s things. Perhaps she knew what has happened, and will be making her own arrangements to catch up with her sister? But I agree with you that if Nurse Park also turns out to be related it would make the plot super complicated!

  4. @JT7 It would be very odd if Nurse Park is related to POR. Remember that scene where she picked up POR’s book and was about to open it and POR snatched it back off her? It gave her a paper cut? And POR snarled “That’s what happens when you touch something that doesn’t belong to you” and “I hate it when people touch my things”. (Or something to that effect). Nurse Park was taken aback and tried to explain herself. It doesn’t really fit well with her being a relative. I get the feeling Nurse Park feels that POR is detrimental to the hospital dynamic as a whole and thus is glad to see the back of her when she left.

  5. Ottoke! That kiss was extra hot and spicy especially with that lift and the sound that MY made. 🔥 RAWR! 😍

I hope there’s more too. 😁 I’ll comeback tomorrow to reply to the LLF thread. I’m exhausted today so no more energy. 🤪 Tomorrow there’s 3 birthdays for my family so it’ll be nice to have some celebration. ☺️

Have a good day everyone! 👋🏻

  6. It’s not sitting well with me that Head nurse is her mum. Why are the butterfly pins switching every single time I see them with the killer it’s on the right, but Moon Young’s mum always puts hers on the left apart from in her flashback. It’s such an odd thing. Why is her mum this way? Does she have ASPD too? Doesn’t that make the message of the show void? Why make the villain of the show also have a disorder? Till we get full proof that Head nurse is her mum I won’t believe it. She’s the killer yes but she’s not the woman who drowned. And I still believe that woman is Moon Young’s mother. Why would the fairy tale be called a tale of two sisters if our characters have no link with the the two sisters? Yes it focuses on the father in the title and how he sat by and let his child be abused, but I feel like it’s more than that. We’re missing something. And I think three episodes is a lot for us to just deal with the fall out and confront the nurse. It seems too long.

  8. I must say, DHJ’s actress really killed it with her performance 👍🏼

  9. WOW, Dr. OH was right to tell GT to not trust anyone at the hospital. To think that Haeng-Ja hatched her plan by sending JR to get MY’s signature as her father’s guardian, essentially luring everyone to Seongjin City.

Them show how MY’s mother died made me shutter.

  10. Aishhhhhhhhh.

    This is killing me!

    *spoilers ahead*

Episode 13 revealed so many things. MY’s dad was diagnosed with glioblastoma, with confusion and brain dysfunction as symptoms. When he heard on the radio a woman was killed and realised their housekeeper did not come in for work, he put two and two together: MY’s mum killed the housekeeper. In disbelief and disgust, he pushed MY’s mum and she SPLAT on the floor. Dead as well.

At the end of the episode, we see the nurse donning the very same butterfly pin we saw on the killer’s jacket. She’s wearing lipstick, a black lacy dress, and a really creepy smile.

We know she isn’t MY’s mother. They revealed the mother’s face finally. Perhaps she’s MY’s auntie?

After all, the episode is called “A tale of two sisters”… with “sisters” possibly referring to MY’s mum and MY’s aunt.

Also, BeingWritten also mentioned that the placement of the butterfly pin has been inconsistent. With the killer’s on the right side; MY’s mum in the flashbacks on the left side. In the photo, the pin is on the right side. What if, the lady in the photo isn’t MY’s mum? What if it’s the actual killer (her aunt) in the photo instead?

It was mentioned in the previous thread that MY must’ve gotten the idea of taking a portrait to symbolise being a family from somewhere. What if MY’s family along with her aunt took a photo together? Except the photo we’re shown onscreen is actually MY’s aunt, MY, and her dad. (MY’s mum could be the one behind the camera?). We’re never shown the face on the photo- we assumed it was her mother.

  11. Growing Beautifully (GB)

I’m glad we have been given the backstory of dad and mum and MY before dad died. Emotionally overwrought. The relationship we may have overlooked is that maybe the sisters were GT’s mum and Nurse Park. The hidden sister that no one knew about. Things are falling into place.

  12. Sigh so Nurse Park is evil? ☹️ How did she get to be where she was with a disorder? And more importantly how did Dir O miss all the signs?

  13. I’m with you, @nrllee. She had some off moments, but what a twist to have her be evil. We may get some more background tomorrow. Dir O did tell GT not to trust anyone, not even him.

Euwwwww, did you see the blood pooling in the shape of a butterfly? And in the flashback, there were several pads of white paper notes, like those with the red words.

So then what happened to POR? She was the one who mentioned that the tragedy in Othello was about a misunderstanding. Did MY’s dad kill the wrong woman?

I thought the scene between Ju-ri’s mom and GT was interesting. I keep thinking that she understands or knew more than she’s letting on. I think consciously or not, she is treating GT like her child. Interesting also that Ju-ri and MY speculated on what would happen if their parents were swapped.

    Must re-watch.

  14. Haven’t had the chance to watch. Netflix hasn’t loaded it up yet in my region. So POR is a red herring? Until I watch it I am wondering if the mention of dissociative identity disorder (multiple personality disorder) is the reason why we are seeing different people. Similar to the story of the 2 sisters. The lady POR adopts all these personalities and plays it out in her head so what we are seeing is her playing it out. So she’s thinking she’s the Head Nurse? and she thought she was MY’s mom? But we’re just seeing the real actresses on screen? It’s just too convoluted to have Head Nurse be evil. Like the story of the 2 sisters. The one with dissociative identity disorder actually played out the step-mother (who wasn’t actually abusive or evil) and dead sister’s parts – the whole time what was conveyed in the movie was what was happening in her mind and the audience was made to believe her delusions. Until the reveal in the end that there were no others in the house all that time, just her father and herself?

  15. Yeah no, the more I think about it, the more unlikely I think Head Nurse is the perpetrator. She’s been at the hospital all this time? She had all that time to enact revenge and work it out but nada for years (MY’s dad was in the hospital all that time)? POR only got there (OK hospital) a month or so ago (I think?) so it would fit better in the timeline. Also having a Head Nurse with access to medicines/drugs/sharps whose mental state is questionable wouldn’t be a nice thought to entertain. Imagine all the “deaths” she could’ve caused in all her years at the hospital. She even got GT to remove all the sharps from the patient rooms at one instance. She’s never shown any violent tendencies. POR has – she used a rock on the male nurse.

    Ad Hoc Thoughts
On a lighter note… does anyone think that Seung Jae ‘helped’ Sang In with his romance, and then told him NOT to tell JR about the ‘Song Hye Kyo blind date’ on purpose, knowing he’d do exactly that and alienate Ju Ri? LOL.

Sang In should have just told JR that she was his idea type and ended all further verbal mistakes.

Isn’t it cute that MY did to GT what other kdramas tell us about, but don’t always show us. She grabbed his necktie and pulled him in for a kiss. And after that the cutest thing is that GT’s face was so red, that ST asked if they kissed. “A kiss is better than a fight. Don’t fight. I’ll scold you.” And then that he likes Ko Gil Dong more than GT. LOL

Ju Ri and Nurse Byeol speak of the ‘visitor’ of Yoo Seon Hae who comes, picks a person and follows him/her person around. I’m wondering who Seon Hae will stalk this time.

I felt for so long that Yoo Seon Hae was wearing a wig, and first grader YSH was cute. But it was so sad that she saw herself as the little girl and still felt the pain in her arms long after her bruises had healed. Although Ju Ri says ‘She’s not psychic or possessed, so her readings were never accurate’, she might have had a bit of a gift, since she could tell that help for Jeong Tae/Ah Reum would come from the West.

I’m super glad that GT is not investigating and worrying entirely on his own. With Dir Oh now knowing about the messages and threat, he is also able to prepare. GT’s smart in figuring out that the notes in the book were probably sent to POR. Nurse Park (another with DID?) had been feeding her info and instructions for some time. She might also have instructed that the writing be obliterated so that no one could read it or recognise her handwriting.

Good advice to not trust anyone in the hospital. It was so chilling to see the horrible drawing of the butterfly on the wall.

So heartening to see ST’s attempts to draw butterflies in his sketch book.

I liked that MY got ST to examine facial expressions so that he could draw the illustrations. He was already quite good at reading his brother’s face, recognising embarrassment when he saw it. LOL that Jae Su’s expressions all looked the same (I don’t think I could do any better) and that ST couldn’t take Seung Jae’s cuteness. ST will have problems with microexpressions.

MY’s great need is to forgive her father. Her healing can only properly proceed if she lets go of her anger and resentment against him.
“It’s ridiculous. Are all parents automatically forgiven for all the bad things they did before they die?” She did not see that the forgiveness would help her and not her dead parent.

I liked that in the decision to speak out as in King Donkey Ears, MY chose Ju Ri. That was one of my happy, healing endings, that they’d be friends.

  17. Wow. Head Nurse, me and my husband had an inkling when we saw how sure she was that the actress POR wasn’t coming back. Our theory is that she was just paid to be an actress and leave the butterfly note + get her mom’s butterfly pin/dress from somewhere for the Head Nurse. That’s why she would never be seen afterwards. Her mission was accomplished.

With the previews now, I’m just thinking whether ST will be murdered by the Head Nurse… or what will happen because obviously he still thinks the butterfly has power and the Head Nurse is wearing the brooch.

I’m not sure also if she is acting alone or if Director Oh could be a part of it… leading ST to draw a mural, come to the hospital, checking up on GT and MY’s relationship. I hope not because I genuinely think he’s cute. However Head Nurse knows too much, it’s almost strange. Did she find out MY’s birthday by having her sign the papers?

(Unrelated – but glad to be back! I’m sorry I didn’t want to read the other posts before I caught up on all the episodes! Miss this community!)

  18. Wow! My head is spinning!

The title of the episode can have multiple meanings. The father of the 2 sisters from the tale is the bad guy. It was revealed that Patient Seon Hae suffered abuse at the hands of her mother while her father did nothing to help her. In a way, Seon Hae and MY are like sisters in suffering. Both were abused by their mothers (Seon Hae physically, MY verbally) and both had fathers who failed to protect their daughters. It was very sad that Seon Hae’s father was visiting his daughter only to persuade her to become a liver donor for him. At least Mr. Ko felt remorse for his actions and his irrational attack on his own daughter could be explained by his condition ( brain tumor).

Another interpretation of the title can be more literal. It looks like Nurse Park and Do Hee Jae may have been real sisters, and, as @John L pointed out, Nurse Park probably hatched her plan to draw everyone to OK hospital for revenge. It looks like Mr. Ko did kill his wife thinking that she had killed ST and GT’s mom. I am inclined to think that she did not do it, but she did not deny it either. The killer had the butterfly pin on her left side, while the mom wore it on her right side. In the last scene of the episode, Nurse Park also wore the pin on her left side ( I think.)

So it looks like MY’s mom is really dead, but it is not sure if she is the killer. Questions:
    1. What is the connection between Nurse Park and Do Hee Jae? How does Patient Park Ok Ran fit in?
    2. If Nurse Park hatched a plan to draw MY to the hospital, she could not have planned the arrival of GT and ST. Does she know who they are? The crude butterfly drawing on STs mural suggests that she does.
    3. Who really killed ST nd GT’s mom?

The connection between butterfly and psyche is related to the story of Cupid and Psyche.

  19. Hello all! Oh my God! Last night’s episode! I think I’ll have to re-watch today before catching the new one tonight. I still can’t believe it’s head nurse is MY’s mom.

  20. The story of Cupid and Psyche:
    https://www.pitt.edu/~dash/cupid.html
    https://www.thoughtco.com/the-myth-of-cupid-and-psyche-117892
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cupid_and_Psyche#Paintings

The story can be interpreted as an allegory of the progress of the soul through love. Psyche is often depicted with butterfly wings.

  21. @Snowflower, thank you for the Cupid and Psyche links. I only knew the very littlest bit about the myth.

You wondered how Nurse Park could have lured GT, ST, and MY to the hospital. IF she were involved in the murder, she would have known about the victim’s children. I’m sure it was in the news at the time that they escaped. Unless they changed their names, she would be able to trace them. She could have planted the idea in Ju-ri’s head to tell GT about a position available. Getting MY there would be more tricky. She only came because of GT, having refused to visit her father previously. The other strange things she did: having GT look for sharps, giving away POR’s bed and trying to find out what GT had in his locker make her look dodgy at this point, but I’m still not convinced that she is evil. We know that she is aware of nearly everything that goes on, including that Dir O meets in the supply room for information. If a further episode shows ST confiding in her that he is afraid of butterflies and why (or shows her listening in to his conversation with Dir O) I would be convinced.

The mother didn’t deny the murder, but she may have arranged for someone else to do it.

Won’t the cctv show who painted the butterfly?

Nurse Park really slammed the receptionist for saying that even she wouldn’t forgive her father for selling her to a shaman. Nurse Park said that one can’t judge without knowing the circumstances in the family – or something like that. To me this means that she could, in some circumstances, agree that a child could be condemned and abandoned in such a way.

  22. I agree with @Fern. Even if it were true, it just wouldn’t be logical? She’s the Head Nurse. If she had an unsound mind, it wouldn’t just be the current case that would point at her guilt? Assuming she’s been in the hospital for a while, there would be other cases which would raise suspicion? She’s pretty much right at the top of the hierarchy at the hospital? Dir Oh would’ve left her to run the place? She has way too much power to NOT have been outed earlier? She would’ve had plenty of opportunities to act out her “condition”? There would be a trail of destruction? Leading back to her? Whilst it is a possibility that the writer would pursue this line of argument (that Nurse Park was the mastermind), personally for me it would be a massive plot hole. For there to be nothing for 20 years? And for that trail to grow cold? And then to suddenly re-emerge conveniently when all 3 of them return to town? What was she doing all that time? If nothing at all, having her be the one who is evil would shoot a big hole in the whole mental institution system? If you cannot even trust the nurses/caregivers/doctors to be of sound mind then who can you trust? 🤔

  23. Growing Beautifully (GB)

    On Episode 13
    @nrllee @Fern
I’m thinking that Nurse Park has been either a fan/friend/sister of MY’s mother who has been hiding in plain sight in the hospital where KDH is. She has maybe been patiently waiting for an opportunity to do just 1 thing in particular, ie get redress for Do Hee Jae’s disappearance/death. With the title of Ep 13 being The Two Sisters, and its connection to Dissociative Identity Disorder, I’ve been wondering if it’s possible for her to be her ‘normal’ personality (Dr Jekyll) for the majority of the time, but then to devolve into her alter ego (Mr Hyde) once she’s away from the hospital.

For more conjectures on her, pl see below.

    @Snow Flower
Thanks for the Psyche links. I’ve yet had time to read.

Good idea about the possible ways to interpret who the Two Sisters might be. The possible combinations:
1)MY and Seon Hae as the pair who were abused by their mothers and not protected by their fathers.
2)Nurse Park and POR – since Nurse Park is likely the one who instigated POR’s actions.
3)Nurse Park and MY’s mum Do Hee Jae
    4)Nurse Park and GT’s mum

Although I proposed the pairing of 4) I think the pairing of 3) might be more likely. Like Bluebeard’s wife who had a sister, the wife of KDH had a fan/friend or sister that he may or may not have known. Even if he’d met her before, with plastic surgery, she might not be recognisable. Nurse Park might have been a good friend like Jae Su is to GT, someone who stuck close to her like a sister, or even a crazed fan.

I mentioned that there’s an indication that an extra person has access to the Cursed Castle and knows the ins and outs of the basement and where the brooch is. The fan/friend/sister of the MY’s mum might have visited her enough to have known all these things. She’d likely also know about the Clementine song, and about the housekeeper (GT’s mum). So I’m thinking (like @Snow Flower) that Nurse Park is related to MY’s mum as either the fan/friend/sister, although MY may not be aware of this relationship. Or if she does, then it’s an ahjumma/aunt who’s someone she’s ignored.

The other story I likened the duality/pairing of sisters to was that of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, and with Nurse Park now revealed to be ‘something else’ than what we’ve seen so far, I’m thinking she too has DID, and what we’ve been shown is her as Dr Jekyll, but now we see her in Hyde form.

I did also say that show has not given us sufficient clues so that I never knew what to think of Nurse Park and POR. So I’m somewhat aggrieved at this. Show hid so much that there was no way for us to be surer in our guesses. The biggest almost only hint that Nurse Park was not in the up and up, was her quick abandonment of POR, after she left the hospital.

My guess about POR is that (if she is not a relative of Nurse Park) she was given ideas and info to act the part of a lifetime, (which fed her hunger to be recognised as an actress). She was instigated to relay the threat to GT and ST, to raise suspicions with the Clementine song, and then to disappear. I wonder if she’s still alive!

    About the Murders
GT’s mum’s killer: The show’s way to make the GT-MY relationship a guilt-free one, is to somehow have Nurse Park, dressed and acting like MY’s mum, committing the murder. If we could think that POR, a declared fan of Do Hee Jae might have acted, pretending to be DHJ, then it’s possible that an undeclared but crazed fan with DID, (Nurse Park), might have done the same, impersonating her idol, maybe thinking that she was killing off any competition for MY’s affections.

Death of DHJ: There is one discrepancy in the detail of her death. MY spoke of blood on the floor and we saw that in the main hall, however it is in the basement that MY stared at the stain on the floor. She does not seem to be bothered at all about the main hall and stairs that her mother died on. I’d the impression all along that her mum had fallen down the stair in the basement, and not over the main staircase. I believe that DHJ is really and truly dead and all the weird things happening post-death are the doings of Nurse Park in whatever persona she may have.

  24. @GB I find it hard to accept that someone with DID would be able to hide it all those years? A condition like that doesn’t stay latent? Sure it may not be diagnosed but you would have lapses right throughout. And for Dir Oh to have missed that in his own close personal staff member all those years would make me doubt his ability as a psychiatrist/psychologist. But yeah there hasn’t been much for us to put together evidence about the conditions. Even SeonHae and her dad. Unless I actually read her character description beforehand, I wouldn’t have known she had DID till Ep13. All this time she was just SeonHae the adult. She didn’t display any other personalities which would’ve hinted to me that she had DID (unlike Sybil – urgh…don’t watch this. I did when I was much younger and it scarred me for life…it was horrific). It was the same with the old man with PTSD. Even MY’s condition – does she have ASPD? It doesn’t look like she does? I am not a psychiatrist so I wouldn’t know for sure? The only person with a confirmed mental condition that has been consistent right through has been ST. The rest of the patients have had precious little screen time for us to get a handle on them.

Let’s see where the writer takes us before we give our final critique and grade the drama 😂. On behalf of @packmule3.

  25. After rewatching Nurse Park’s parts in the show there were clues that she’s the mother/linked to the mother. When asked what her favourite tales are she said ones that are horror, foolish and cruel. That she loves those. She says she doesn’t relate to other characters in Moon Young’s book with a firmness. She also provides ST with the Dooley toy and they discussed about fake mums and step mothers who take care of a child that’s not their own. She seems intrigued by it and is happy about the subject. Not to mention she always looked on edge each time they discussed the past and her certainty about POR’s disappearance. The only issue is that if she’s as obsessed with MY as we’re led to believe, she never showed any signs of it even when close to her, she tries to get her fired once and always just watches coldly when she’s in trouble. She stands and just watches the father strangle her with no movement. It’s just odd. I just think the conversation she had with ST foreshadows her situation, she’s not MY’s mum but she thinks she is, like Dooley’s stepmother. Is she jealous of DHJ because she’s a lover of the father like a stepmother, or is she just jealous of her sister’s life and so she took her persona? I’m inclined to believe she’s the sister, with mentions of Wizard of oz and two sisters who are witches, Witch of the west and witch of east, and we now have a tale of two sisters. I also think ugly duckling also links to the Dooley’s stepmother situation because MY says that the lesson of ugly duckling is to not raise a child that’s not your own. I don’t believe the father’s memories because his tumours were causing him to have distorted memories and it’s reinforced that his perspective might not be right. This is why I don’t believe he took her to the lake and drowned her. I think Nurse Park was involved with that, and I do believe that yes DHJ has drowned and is dead and Nurse Park is not DHJ. But an impostor

  26. Okay I just finished Ep13. I don’t think it’s possible for Nurse Park to be the lady in the end. I think we’re seeing POR but the actress playing Nurse Park is her right now. As in POR has projected Nurse Park. When would Nurse Park have the time to take time off? Paint her nails? Her nails were not painted in the scene with KDH. And I don’t know if the butterfly pinned on the right/left is a production error or meant to clue us into the killer being POR as the crazed fan or if it really was MY’s mother.

  27. Butterfly is on the left with the killer. Butterfly in Ep13 is also on the left in the flashback scene. I think the confusion lies in the mirror shots. The camera is filming the mirror image.

Pic 1 is the mirror image (you can just see the brown edge of the mirror) – so she’s pinning it on her left.

Pic 2 is when the camera films her actual person – it’s on her left

  28. @nrllee, good point about the mirror image. The woman in the family photograph (presumably MY’s mom) wears it on the right, unless the photograph itself is a mirror image.

Is Disassociative Identity Disorder the condition of Norman Bates from Psycho?

  29. The title of Episode 14 is The Anglerfish. I am already creeped out…

  30. @nrllee yes I was going to point out about the placement of the butterfly, that it switches due to the camera focusing on either the mirror or on DHJ herself.

So far the butterfly appears on:
MY’s mum, on the left (scene with MY)
Killer of GT’s mum, on the left
    In photograph, on right
What seems to be nurse Park, on left

Show has not totally confirmed that MY’s mum was the killer. If she was, the show deliberately tried to make us think otherwise in the scene, as they showed that the killer wears no nail polish or rings, unlike MY’s mother. They later plugged that gap to show MY’s mother painting her nails when the news of the murder was announced. So who is the lady in the photograph then?

I agree with you and @Fern that it shouldn’t be Nurse Park being the killer. In the scene when she listens to KDH’s confession, you can see that she was visibly moved and crying, and I think the murderer wouldn’t have shown as much empathy as she has shown so far in her work.

@GB, to add to your list of combinations:
    1. Seon Hae + her child personality: If the show is referencing A tale of the two sisters, then it may be taking Seon Hae and her alternate personality as the 2 sisters, just like how in the film the older sister with DID takes on the personality of her younger sister at times.
    2. POR + her channelling Nurse Park: Seon Hae’s case (and the nod to the Tale of 2 sisters film) might be a breadcrumb pointing us to another case of DID, which might be POR taking on the alternate personality of Nurse Park (but dressed as MY’s mother?). So I agree with your idea @nrllee that the Nurse Park we see at the end might be just POR playing her, or taking on another personality if she has DID. One clue that might point us to this is in POR’s notes (which GT leafs through): I mentioned there was a drawing showing stage lighting placement. The figure is drawn with 2 resulting images and 2 shadows, sorta implying that one person may have 2 personalities?

@snowflower yes, Norman Bates had DID I think, he took on the personality of his mother.

  31. Growing Beautifully (GB)

More conjectures before Ep 14 throws out all these thoughts LOL.

Interesting question @Snow Flower. It got me to look it up on trusty Wikipedia once again. Here’s part of the Norman Bates character overview. The added emphasis is mine. Norman Bates kills his mother and her fiancé.

After committing the murders, Norman staged it like murder–suicide, making it look as if Norma had killed her fiancé and then herself. After a brief hospitalization for shock, he developed dissociative identity disorder, assuming his mother’s personality to repress his awareness of her death and to escape the guilt of murdering her. … As “Mother”, he commits murder against anyone that he believes Norma would want to kill if she were still alive. After each “Mother” trance, he does not appear to remember committing the murders himself, believing “Mother” to be wholly responsible.

Bloch sums up Norman’s multiple personalities in his stylistic form of puns: “Norman”, a child needing his mother; “Norma”, a possessive mother who kills anyone who threatens the illusion of her existence; and “Normal”, a functional adult who goes through the motions of day-to-day life. “Norma” dominates and belittles “Norman” much as she had when she was alive, forbidding him to have a life outside of her and flying into violent rages whenever he feels attracted to a woman. “Norma” and “Norman” carry on conversations through Norman talking to himself and to her corpse in his mother’s voice, and Norman dresses in his mother’s clothes whenever “Norma” takes hold completely.

From my totally untrained in mental disorders guesswork, there appear to be a couple of similarities with Nurse Park, assuming that she has DID. We will assume this for this argument. When she is Nurse Park, she shows no signs of being mentally unwell, like Norman.

If she is the one committing the murder, and inciting POR, she may or may not remember that she did it, if she has DID. The only thing is that if she has been putting notes into the book for POR and giving her instructions, she might be aware of some of what her alternate personality is doing. Regardless of whether she is aware or not of her other personality, she is able to go on with work as ‘normal’.

Nurse Park may be doing to KDH and to MY/ST/GT what she thinks DHJ would do if she were alive.

Nurse Park dresses differently from her professional image, but we have to see if she dresses like MY’s mum aside from the brooch. If she does, then like Norman, if she has DID, she assumes completely the person of MY’s mum.

I was trying to figure out what the situation was that triggered Nurse Park to become more active in getting at KDH. While the trigger for Norman Bates was his attraction to a woman, I was thinking maybe the trigger for Nurse Park was KDH’s health and MY’s happiness. Her targets seem to be KDH, MY and those close to MY, like ST and GT. IE the individuals or families of the people that DHJ despised.

My guess is that Nurse Park had stationed herself in that hospital to oversee KDH’s ‘death’ or push him over the edge. He had survived a very long time with the brain tumour but it was believed to be terminal. I have to check on the timing but I’m guessing, that when KDH was likely to die for lack of surgery, there was no reason for her to do anything.

When MY signed the form to let him get surgery, then the Clementine song was mentioned by the Shaman patient. At first, the only target was KDH, but what worked for her was that GT came back to Seongjin with ST who’d witnessed the murder. Then MY came back as well, so she could pick and choose whom else to target.

When GT first started working at the hospital, in Ep 3, Nurse Park tried to scare him with news about the hospital being on a site where a cemetery used to be. The lights were not working in the corridor.

Nurse Park to GT: “Maybe it’s because earthbound spirits here are all very resentful. Be careful when you do your rounds at night.”

When Kwon Ki Do went off in MY’s car, Nurse Park asked Dir Oh “What are you going to do about Ms Ko? She caused this to happen.”

When KDH seemed to recover after surgery, he kept hearing the humming of Clementine and POR was instigated to reprise the rose of MY’s mum, so that KDH would out himself that he’d killed her.

When it looked like GT and MY were getting on well, she targeted ST with the butterfly threat.

When GT, ST and MY were becoming a family, the butterfly was painted on the wall.

  32. This episode is still confusing to me and the placement of the butterfly pins continues to annoy me. We also get some idea about DHJ previous family but still there’s more mystery as to why she began to write and why she’s determined to not publish her other book? Why mention her family if this isn’t important? It makes no sense why that dialogue happened apart from maybe hinting that she’d be annoyed when MY publishes her book. I’m still weirded out by the fact that she survived her fall and got plastic surgery. MY also mentions this episode that she would have known she was her mother, even if she has so many plastic surgeries she would have known something was of, even if her father and Director Oh did not know. Director Oh ends up just being a fake wizard like the wizard of oz, he’s disappointed in his naiveness and really letting a killer into his hospital for many years. He seems genuinely disappointed and I thought he had more parts to play in the story but I guess not. So who was the man who was behind MY’s father when he strangled her the first time when she was young. Why would they mention Othello if no one is manipulated into killing anyone? Why were they two women dolls, a father doll and baby doll on the dressing room in one episode, that was pointing to another woman being involved? Who is Nurse Park? Where is POR? This last plot twist about her just being MY’s mum doesn’t sit well with me even after watching this episode

What I will say is that I completely forgot about the father who went crazy in episode 1. We knew he went missing but we didn’t know how. Now we understand MYs mum has been sending her triggers from episode 1 and watching her. Brilliant reveal. I wish it added more to the story though.

  33. Just a random though from Episode 13–apologizes if this has been discussed. What if Nurse Park and Psycho Mom are sisters–Tale of 2 Sisters? MY’s father & Nurse Park are MY’s biological parents. However, MY’s father had an affair or started seeing Psycho Mother when his wife (Nurse Park) disappeared.

    Reason:
*When MY’s father confronts Psycho Mom about killing ST/GT’s mom before pushing her over, he said “If I die, Mun-yeong, MY daughter, will become a monster like you …” He said MY daughter; not OUR daughter.
*MY’s father’s confession with Nurse Park & GT. He said “Mun-yeong saw everything. She was there … when I killed that woman.” He said woman, not her mother.

About to watch 14 so let’s see how this theory pans out.

  34. Growing Beautifully (GB)

@BeingWritten, despite all the reveals about Nurse Park, I still do not believe that she really is MY’s mum. I too believe that MY would have known it and her father too. Nurse Park definitely believes that she’s MY’s mum though, which makes her act ‘in character’.

So her target is to get rid of the boy who dared to come and rescue the princess (Rapunzel) from the castle, because with him around, MY cut the leash. I made the guess with Rapunzel that since that story had not ending, we’d get the live action end with the end of this show. I’m thinking that’s playing out now. The wicked witch has lured the prince back to the castle, not with the bait of Rapunzel, but of ST. MY says that GT is a coward, but she has underestimated him, especially when it comes to his brother.

The common trope that makes bad guys able to get the better of good guys is the lack of information in the warning given to likely victims. ST should have been warned to beware of his friend, Nurse Park. Poor ST.

  35. So it really is Nurse Park? Sigh…I don’t think we would’ve ever guessed at the convoluted plot with the meager serve of hints along the way. Throw in plastic surgery and the fact that MY’s dad’s had the brain condition from when the murder happened which meant his version of events may not be reality (or may only be partially true). 🙄. And multiple characters with similar delusions which distort the facts even further? It’s going to be a hard ask to make an educated guess.

I agree with @GB, Nurse Park looked genuinely concerned at KDH’s death bed. I will say one thing though, the way the drama is heading towards this convoluted big reveal at the end, the writer hasn’t delivered on her message if as the PD said in the Press Con that they were out to portray how everyone’s a little crazy (and therefore “okay”). It is NOT okay to be a psycho and murder someone…or plot someone’s demise? So some psychos are okay but others are not? 🙄. How would the untrained eye spot the difference? Especially when Nurse Park seems so “normal” on the outside and genuinely concerned? Most people would just err on the side of caution and just avoid all psychos altogether? If Nurse Park ends up as the killer, it would totally send the message that you can’t trust anyone, not even hospital staff? The writer has lost her way if that’s the case. People don’t come away watching Norman Bates thinking that he’s psycho but it’s okay? 🙄. The ending is usually what the audience takes away with them. ☹️ Even if she tries to cover it up with some fluff about a camping trip with the three amigos, Nurse Park would cast a huge shadow over the drama. Much like the butterfly brooch she donned.

  36. @nrllee,

My take on Psycho But It’s Okay message is that the psychos who are OK are the ones who acknowledge that they have a problem and work to overcome it and get better. We saw several characters do that: MY, GT, ST, JR, also many of the patients, and even Director Oh. It’s still unclear if Nurse Park is the actual killer, but she is definitely different than the other psychos. She does not think that she has done anything wrong, just like Norman Bates in the last scene of Psycho.

  37. @SnowFlower. Yes that’s true. I am basing it on the PD’s statement at PressCon that “everyone’s a bit crazy” when he was asked what the main message was in the drama. We’ll wait and see how it ends and then reassess if they delivered or if the whole ending took the emphasis away from the original intent.

  38. Growing Beautifully (GB)

@nrllee I fee the PD may have expressed himself partially and given it a more positive spin. I feel that what he wanted to say was that instead of people thinking that they are normal and therefore looking askance at those who have mental/developmental disorders, they should be aware that all (of us) are on a spectrum, and therefore be less judgemental/negative towards others who are further along on the spectrum. He dared to broach the great forbidden idea that people are not perfectly okay on any spectrum, that we are crazy in some ways and therefore should be more considerate of others who are also imperfect.

However what he says about being OK, he might have qualified a bit better. Don’t remember his exact words or whether it sounded like he lumped those with conditions that make them dangerous to others and themselves as okay as well. Show is definitely not saying this about the killer of GT’s mum or the tormentor of ST and GT.

  39. Yes @SnowFlower. I can’t see him condoning serial killers and the like. But there are still some instances (like @GB highlighted) where MY’s dangerous behavior hasn’t been addressed properly and just swept aside as part of her “condition”. Which I am not entirely happy about. But I do get your point that he has tried to get that message across to the audience that we’re all on that spectrum and therefore should be less judgemental. I guess at the end of the drama we can decide if he achieved that end or not. Or did the whole love story and find the killer take the spotlight off that message?

  40. Oops I meant my comment above to be replying to @GB. 😂. I need to go watch Ep14 now.

  41. Sigh it does look like it’s Nurse Park after all? The CCTV can’t lie? But why was her bedside manner with KDH so different in Ep 13 Vs Ep 14? Did she really have DID and has 2 personalities? No amount of plastic surgery can make her look so different though – everyone thinks she’s DHJ? I am not enjoying this twist at all. DHJ would not have had the patience to watch on for 20 years? Her type of vengeance is immediate? It’s direct and violent? Nurse Park doesn’t fit the profile? Is she the sister? POR has DHJ tendencies. There’s not much time left for any other reveals I feel so I am resigned to it being Nurse Park (who may or may not be DHJ). I can’t see how she didn’t die…KDH made sure of it…even disposing the body in the lake…unless his version of events was erroneous and it was his brain tumor talking…did MY rescue her? Like she did GT? All I can say is that I don’t think anyone would’ve guessed the whole story except the fact that Nurse Park was “odd” and “suspicious”. 🙄

The star in Ep14 is ST. My goodness wasn’t he just spectacular? In times like these he seems to be the lucky one. Incapable of understanding everything that transpires and the complexities of the situation. He just forgave MY because she ate his porridge. Just gorgeous. And he hugged GT. ❤️. And our second couple JuRi and SangIn are just lovely. A bit of sanity (they just work) amid all the angst and turmoil that is inevitable for our OTP.

  42. @nrllee Haha I think I was the one who noted that Nurse Park was visibly affected when she was by KDH’s deathbed.

I’ve finally finished watching Ep 14 and was just thinking, given all the bits of info fed to us, the show still purposely leaves many question marks to what is going on. All we know is:
    1. GT’s mum was killed because of her connection as the housekeeper to the Ko family. We still can’t confirm it was DHJ, all she said was that GT’s mum would no longer be coming back to work for them.
    2. DHJ was killed by KDH due to 1. Show is trying to imply she didn’t die. (But I am still inclined to think she did. Because MY’s memories correlate to her father’s, and the references to Psycho, and Oz.)
    3. Nurse Park isn’t a good guy. Show is trying to cast her as MY’s mother. (Again, I don’t think she is because of reasons stated in 2. Also, the show subtly seems to want to distinguish the characters of the nurse and DHJ even though the plot suggests they are the same person: Nurse always sports shorter hair, while DHJ has long hair.)

I am also not enjoying the twist and I feel it doesn’t make sense. Even though KDH’s account of his wife’s death may not be accurate due to his tumour, his account tallies with what MY says she saw, so I would think his version of the story is true. Whatever the case, I can imagine the fear and feelings of betrayal in the hospital, that a seemingly reliable head nurse could be a villain and remain undetected for 20 years. Who can you trust now?

Could it be that Nurse Park is DHJ’s sister, and she witnessed DHJ’s death? That might have caused her to develop an alternate personality as DHJ (which would then fit in with the film and tale about the two sisters). If so, her distress at KDH’s bedside might be then due to her feeing upset that her “daughter” had to go through all this, or his confession may have triggered those memories of her seeing her sister die.

The mirror is a common symbol used to represent DID, and I think it was used in scenes for A tale of two sisters. I realize it is also used in PBIO, Seon Hae is shown looking into the mirror and seeing the child version of herself. Both Nurse Park and DHJ are shown looking into the mirror in the basement, and when DHJ wears her brooch the camera keeps toggling between filming her face-on and filming her reflection. @snowflower you also mentioned that the photo might have been a mirror image? Perhaps this switching, and the use of the mirror is to hint that there is the link of DID between DHJ and Nurse Park.

GT mentioned that the notes in the book belonging to POR seem to be given to her. Maybe it was Nurse who did so, encouraging POR to put on a role as the ghost. Also, given POR’s obsession with DHJ, she might have been used by DHJ to kill GT’s mother?

  43. 😂 @JT7 this is what happens when the story doesn’t make sense. And throw in the fact that we’re dealing with people who aren’t your run of the mill “normal” (with potential multiple personalities, brain tumour, distorted memories etc) and really anything goes. It did cross my mind that Nurse Park could’ve groomed POR to do her bidding with the notes hidden in the book. She did pick up the book and POR snatched it back from her.

But poor MY though. IF DHJ is still alive and Nurse Park is her, then MY would have to undergo more suffering when she’s finally caught? Or will she die for real a second time? Her (MY) version of events was that her mother disappeared from the basement. But it could be that the mother’s disappearance was due to her father disposing the body in the lake? She didn’t see him do that. She went down to the basement, saw that her mother was gone. Her father had already removed the body and taken it to the lake. All MY saw was his muddy boots when he returned. This is the “logical” sequence of events. 😂

If we go with the Tale of 2 Sisters (movie version), Nurse Park is DHJ’s sister. And she took on her identity and played both parts (due to her DID). And if Nurse Park was the killer of GT’s mother, that would free MY from the guilt of knowing that it was her mother who was the murderer. It would make their future relationship less of an issue. Nurse Park looked surprised when KDH recounted the murder of his wife. If she had DID then it may have triggered her “sister” to emerge from within her hence accounting for her rather deranged ranting to KDH in Ep14. But GT was present in that last bit? He came in and Nurse Park was reasonable then? Somehow I doubt we’re ever going to guess at the truth of the events given all the variables.

  44. Episode 13 highlights –

When GT gave that lingering look at ST and MY at the family photo taking. I felt his gaze to mean that ‘this is my family’.

When GT hesitantly said that he wants to go to school.

Sang-In and Juri’s Mom scene where she gave him advice. I thought it was nice to see that he followed his assistant’s advice (sorry I forgot her name) regarding his blind date, she was even able to hit him too to get the point across. 😂

ST learning the different faces of emotions so he can draw them.

ST teasing GT about his flushed face. 🥰 Kissing is better than fighting. 🤣

Episode 14 was just a crying 😢 episode everywhere for me – ST feeding MY porridge and forgiving her, the brothers hugging and ST telling him that he will protect them, GT and MY talking about the truth regarding the butterfly –

except at the end when GT finally faced Nurse Park. I can’t believe too that she’s still alive and has a revenge plan for over 20 years and she didn’t have any relapsed at all. 😬

I really like Juri and her Mom, they’re the pillar that balances everyone. Oh and I love quail eggs too. I’m going to cook those quail eggs that Juri’s Mom cooked. 😂

  45. I want to know what was that pep talk by Jaesu all about? (about GT and MY being weak in episode 14)

Also, I would love to hear your take about the use of the word Hypocrite in this episode 😀

I do think that there are too many sister mentions for the head nurse to not be the sister.

I cried when ST fed MY and lord, the way he worried about her…

I do feel for Jaesu, I wish he would be recognized and loved for being with the brothers for so long.

@agdr03 I would love to get the recipe 🙂

  46. This show has a done a very consistent job of giving us flashbacks out of context and then revealing the big picture in an extended flashback. One example is the frozen lake scene. What we first find from this scene is that MY saved GT. We have no idea why he was in the freezing water in the first place. The extended flashback in a later episode reveals the bigger picture of the childhood dynamic between GT, MY, and ST. Another example is the childhood scene at the gate of the Cursed Castle. First we see MY trample on the flowers that GT gave her and telling him to get lost. But later it is revealed that she did that to save GT from her mother’s threat.
Same thing is true about GT’s memories of his mother.

The murder of GT’s mom and the (probable) murder of MY’s mom are the most traumatic events in GT and MY’s lives, and yet we have only seen partial accounts of these events so far. I hope that we will see an extended flashback putting these events in a broader context.

There are theories on the internet about Nurse Park being a younger sister of Do Hui Jae who is playing the role of her dead sister. At first I thought it was very far fetched, but now it does not seem too implausible. Lee Sang In mentioned that he did not know much about DHJ’s family. In an earlier episode Director Oh commented that if DHJ were indeed alive, it would be impossible for her not to write. Also, Nurse Park apparently knew her way around the Castle (she retrieved the butterfly brooch), and yet she did not know the location of the manuscript of DHJ’s last novel (MY found it, having probably seen her mother hide it.)
Now that I think about it, MY’s interpretation of The Little Mermaid was rather curious too. According to MY, the moral of the story was “Don’t covet a married man.” If Nurse Park is indeed DHJ’s younger sister, she may have been obsessed with Ko Dae Hwan.

Let’s hope that the writer will have a satisfying conclusion of this story. As GT mentioned, a happy ending is the most important!

  47. All of the questions about Nurse Park’s identity can be answered by an analysis of her handwriting and a DNA test. Why is nobody doing it?

  48. @SnowFlower Nurse Park as the sister is a real possibility (Tale of 2 sisters portrays one sister with DID who takes on the dead sister’s identity). I think it odd that Dir Oh didn’t notify the Police about Nurse Park? They notified the Police about POR? Instead both he and GT kept the whole thing a secret from everyone bar a select few? Even if it were a case of getting them to find her so they could track her down and bring her in for questioning? He had CCTV evidence of her acting strange? 🤔 And yes to handwriting and DNA test. Well at least the handwriting can be done without apprehending her first. She would’ve written stuff at the hospital surely. Reports etc.

Good catch about the Little Mermaid and the extended flashback. Although whose flashback will we see? KDH is dead. Presumably so is DHJ. Unless we see Nurse Park’s version? And she murdered GT’s mother?

  49. @nrllee the two detectives come in for investigation and the Director has put the video on a pen drive which he plans to give to the police. He tells Juri that in episode 14.

It might just be me but I want to think that this series will show that MY’s mom (or stepmom) was a terror for her in her brain. The nurse is the sister and MY’s step mom (dooly conversation with ST). This is a test of what GT really feels for MY, can he really like her (not lip service) for who she is and disconnect her from her mom-figure? Can he really forgive her for being born into the family that is connected to his mom’s death? Can he really get over his negative feelings?
Lastly, can MY face her nemesis now that she is an adult?
And maybe after this growth there would be a reveal and then who the mom is won’t matter.

And we will find out soon.

  50. @No one, I only looked up in Google the quail eggs cooked in Korean and there’s a few recipes there but this one I saw in YouTube and I don’t know if it’s my sub but she said she’s going to cook bitch? 😱😂

    https://youtu.be/d3Ebv65IucA

  51. Cook “bitch”? What do you mean? 😂🙂

  52. I think she meant the quail eggs? 😬 my subs said bitch though. It’s right at the beginning, please watch it and correct me please? 😂

  53. Oh oh it’s definitely the subs that’s wrong 😂 because she’s saying Mechurial , the name of the dish. 😂 Silly sub 😂

  54. lol. Of the four ingredients she mentioned, I only have sugar.

I don’t have enough soy sauce to cook with — unless I can use the soy sauce packet that comes with Chinese food delivery?

I don’t have the yellow liquid. What did she call it again?

And I don’t have quail eggs. I’ll have to run to the Asian market for that. Do I have to peel every single one of those eggs?!! Is there a technique to peeling quail eggs? I’ve mad respect for whomever had to peel all those tiny eggs. 🙂

  55. Hmm, it’s probably better to get a small bottle of soy sauce when you do get the quail eggs in the supermarket. Maybe you can use the quail eggs that’s peeled in a can already? You’re Asian supermarket should have them. She called the yellow sugar thing oligosaccharide. It looks like honey but I don’t think so.

Yes, you’ll need to peel those little eggs if you’re buying them raw but I saw this other lady boil them until cook then you put them in a sealed bag and you shake it so the shells hit each other and when you start to peel it it just comes off easily. 😊

I don’t why but I love peeling eggs? ☺️ It’s almost therapeutic for me. 😁

  56. @agdr03, please let us know how it turns out. More ingredients I may have to get off the internet, right?

Yes to all who mentioned ST and the way he could take things at face value and respond more efficiently than anyone else. But what will happen when he finds out? Maybe nothing. He takes things at face value and may not include MY in the fallout at all.

I hope that Nurse Park is the sister of Do Hui-jae and is also the one who killed GT’s mother. MY doesn’t believe it and I think she is right, having spent so much time with her mother. She would know her voice and other characteristics that aren’t changed with time or surgery.

I wonder if the police came because Dir Oh called them or if there was also some news about POR?

  57. Thanks @Noone. I am still annoyed about Nurse Park. I just feel like there’s already a fair bit of “craziness” in MY’s life with her mom and her dad. She looked like she was finally moving on and then Nurse Park (presumably her aunt with DID) appears to throw a spanner in the works to stir the pot up even more. I think the whole her mom killing GT’s mom was enough drama in itself and the boys had already shown that they were willing to let bygones be bygones. That would’ve been “healing” enough on its own. And I also find the sudden emergence of a conscience within her that was pretty much non-existent for the bulk of the drama difficult to swallow? 🤔.

    @Fern
Good point about ST being able to take things at face value and comes up with a spin or interpretation that is so much better than what we ‘not-autistic’ people would.

I feel that show has smoothly put in place how Nurse Park comes into the picture. Do Hee Jae estranged herself from her doctor family after studying medicine for 3 years. If the Tale of Two Sisters is a valid clue, then one of those family members (with a medical background), could easily have kept tabs on DHJ, even maintained contact with her quietly, and been unknown to MY and her dad, to emerge as Nurse Park and insinuate herself into the OK Hospital to torment KDH.

Yes @nrllee, there was enough to end the show nicely with, but the ending had to go out with a bang and a big resolution to be ‘satisfactory’ and so we get ‘auntie’ into the picture as the hidden baddie.

    End?
Only Nurse Park’s being the killer of GT’s mum will make it possible for the new Moon-Ko family to live in peace with each other. No matter how GT assures MY that it doesn’t matter to him, she’ll always say he’s being ‘hypocritical’ as she has done in Ep 14. She will not believe him, even if he sticks close to her, and it will eat away at their relationship. So the resolution is sort of settled if we are to have a ‘guilt-free’ happy ending for our 3 main leads.

What I didn’t know I wanted but am very happy we have got already (and I hope it sticks til the end of the show!)
    – ST being the head of the household.

    – ST and GT in a more mutually giving relationship.

    – GT being intentional and accepting of his role as caregiver, as a matter of it being his choice, rather than as something foisted on him.

    – MY being good for ST and vice versa. They have manifested the better parts of their ‘personalities’ by their interactions. I’ve really enjoyed seeing them as ‘idol’ writer & fan, boss/mentor & employee, kid sister & big brother/mummy figure. What remains is for them to also just be great friends. That ST can transition through the permutations of all these relationships is remarkable, and gives much hope.

    – Dir Oh in good relationship with his son. His shock over betrayal by Nurse Park galvanised him out of neglecting his nearest and dearest. I’ve been on and on about lousy parents… if anything, this show points out how long-term, bad parenting has caused deep distress, trauma and mental suffering for their offspring. It’s good to see that at least in 1 family, the parent acknowledges their mistake.

    – Patient Yoo Sun Hae in her real hair and looking normal. I really want her to be on the mend and to be healed of the wounds inflicted by her parents.

What I’m looking forward to in Ep 15 and 16 after the dust dies down:
    – the live action ending of Rapunzel and even of the Cheerful Dog, that had open endings.

    – the Title and ending of the fairytale that MY emailed to Sang In, which I trust will be happy and nor revised to become dark. That it may throw more light on her mindset after her time with the brothers.

    – an organic happily-ever-after with a reasonable open ending (if that makes sense)

    – less likely to get, but something that gives us hope that parents and children can be reconciled, even posthumously, for the continued peace and welfare of the generations that come after. 🙂

  59. Good parts of episode 14 for me:
⭐I liked Ju-ri’s mom’s advice to Dir O that adults aren’t always correct. She’s giving him slack, not judging him, and helping him look forward when he could easily give in to dejection. ‘Director, my ass.’ Ha. I wish I had her intuition.

⭐Gosh the image of MY and GT on opposite sides of the door, not able to connect was so poignant. But later ST comes by, and just walks in with food in hand.

⭐ST setting Jae-su straight about GT and MY being sad and scared rather than frolicking, because he could read MY’s expression. Hero.

⭐Ju-ri’s mom getting everyone in the house involved in making rice balls for MY and GT because they might forget to eat while they are in a bad frame of mind.

@Fern You’ve highlighted such good moments! And insightful too!

I was agreeing with Ju Ri’s mum about adults making mistakes … I felt that her words got Dir Oh to think about his own mistakes with his son, to and decide to correct them before they continued longer. He managed to talk his son into going for a drink and apologised as well. I loved that scene.

What a nice way to put it. MY and GT not able to connect, but ST just walks in with food LOL. So good sometimes to be able to take things at face value and not be so complicated about going back and forth with “should I/shouldn’t I”.

I was surprised that ST got MY’s expression when he couldn’t figure out Seung Jae’s.

The rice ball project was so sweet. It was a chance also for Ju Ri to soften a bit towards Sang In. Raise his hopes and almost dash it LOL, but then she had given him enough of an indication already, so full steam ahead for Sang In!

  61. @Snow Flower, thank you. That captures all of the anxiety and dread of something that should be good and beautiful but is the opposite.

  62. @Fern, I was inspired by a poem describing “huge black butterflies murdering the sun.”

The original was in French. The same poem translated in German was set to music by Arnold Schoenberg. His setting is titled Nacht (Night) and is extremely creepy. I don’t recommend listening to it before going to bed!

  63. Episode 15 is titled A Good Brother. I have a bottle of soju and a box of tissues ready.

  64. Growing Beautifully (GB)

Thanks @Snow Flower. I looked up the story, “The Good Brothers”. If this is the right story, it is also called “The Two Brothers”. A lovely, heart-warming story, of brothers who were so considerate of each other, that they unknowingly kept exchanging sacks of rice, because they each secretly wanted to give more to each other, thinking the other’s need was the greater. And we can easily see that this is the story of GT and ST as well, with each trying their best to provide for the other, while possibly unaware of how much they are receiving from each other.

As this is Episode 15, I guess you’re right, and lots of tissues had better be near at hand during the watch!

  65. Thanks for the link to the story @GB! Such a heartwarming tale, a very welcome change from the dark fairy tales we’ve been given so far.

@nrllee like you, I am still quite annoyed by the twist. And I also find MY’s sudden change hard to swallow.

@fern I loved all the bits you highlighted! Esp when ST fed MY, just like how Juri’s mum fed Juri.

@snowflower thank you! This show has gotten you on a roll.

I guess we’re going to find out soon if Nurse is DHJ’s sister. Was wondering if it was POR who helped DHJ commit the actual murder. Did you guys notice that MY’s note to GT (the one she rolled up and placed in mang tae’s sack) was written on the same kind of paper as the notes GT found in POR’s book?

  66. Growing Beautifully (GB)

Hi @JT7 I did not notice the note paper that MY used, however I did notice the pads of note paper on the table in the castle. It was in Ep 13, around timestamp 56:00 when KDH was drinking while recalling the doctor saying he had glioblastoma. The camera zoomed out from him and focuses on pads of paper on the desk. These looked like they could be the note paper on which notes were written to POR.

I wanted to live stream the episode 15 tonight but I found too much lag. 😒 Will wait for the subs to be out in an hour or two. 🙂
