Join us for our weekly rewatch of Start Up.
Thank you packmule3. How are you?
Thanks @pkml3! LOL, if you’re pricklybitch then I’m growingbitchily (still GB for short!!)
Hi @Ella, @Cleo, @Janey, @WEnchanteur, @Diane!! Will see you all tomorrow! 11.5 hours from now. 😉
Thank you @packmule3!
Hi @Ella & @GB!
See ya all tomorrow… 🙂
@GB, Cleopatra, Ella, and all others……
I say Hi already. 😉
It save me one comment tomorrow. ^^
If death don’t come at my door, or if I don’t fall in a post-lunch sleep, I will be here too!
Wouldn’t you believe this will be my 3rd rewatch for this week? #blessed 😂
Happy Friday and chat with you all tomorrow!
LOLOL @WEnchanteur… so I say thank you for a nice re-watch party in advance and save myself a comment tonight too!!! LOL.
Yes, I expect you to still be alive, and awake, and to do the re-watch with us, even if it has to be in liminal time, before you, … err … ‘get disposed of’.
@Janey, besides Sisyphus and Start Up, what did you re-watch?
(14 hours more to go!!!) Yes, I like to do a countdown for drama stuff. I’m crazy, that way.
@GB – 2 nights of Sisyphus + 1 Start Up rewatch on Saturday!
The other kdrama I’m following is Vincenzo which is a fun and mischievous show. I’ve been lagging behind on RWTMR.
Heheheh! I’m about the same. I practically re-watch everything that I wish to make comments about. It’s either that or don’t comment or comment and be extremely imprecise!!!
(12 hours to go!)
Hi All! Excited for tonight. I miss Dosan and Dalmi.
Still catching up on Vincenzo and planning to binge-watch Love Alarm tomorrow. So many other shows I have yet to watch. Huhu
Hi @Diane, glad to see you and so early too! How was you day at the beach?
(56 minutes to go!)
Kalimera and Kalispera, regarding where are you, @GB and @Diane!
I am here too! 🙂
@Cleo, Kaló apógevma to you. ( ̄▽ ̄)ノ
Yes it’s evening here and I’m somewhat sleepy today. But still I will be with you in this re-watch party.
I just need to get myself a drink and I’ll be quite set to go!
(30 minutes!)
Hey my lovely @GB,
Thank you! I remember that you are 6 hours ahead from us.
Do that drink because today it is also a celebrating day!
I got my diploma today! 🙂
Congratulations @Cleo! What diploma is this?
My University Degree Diploma! 🙂
Woah! @Cleo!!! Much to celebrate!!! If only I could paste all my party emojis!! There’d be balloons and champagne and party poppers!
°˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°
I’m drinking Chrysanthemum Tea … most non-alcoholic, but I toast you anyway!!! Cheers!!!
(❁´‿`❁)*✲゚*
So true @GB!
I am not drinking either! Maybe later on I will have a glass of wine!
Still, all the emojis came over here! Thank you! ✨💫🎉🎊🍷🍬🍭🧁🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪
I am glad to see my old friends, the emojis, in full colour, in the email. LOL. It’s so appropriate to party and celebrate. Getting a Diploma is an achievement.
Any decision on what you want to do next?
Since, this one is my second degree, I decided to take a hiatus for a while.
I will decide which Master Degree, I will do next, but not at the time being.
I was on my mobile phone, so I could use the colourful emojis!
Hello Ladies,
Congratulation @Cleopatra for your diploma, I hope you get to celebrate it. Will there be a ceremony?
Hey @Ella,
Unfortunately, the ceremony was via live streaming, because of Covid-19.
We couldn’t celebrate it as it was happening the past years.
So, we tried our best to enjoy it as it was this year!
@GB the beach trip was AMAZING! Badly needed that SEAhabilitation!
Hi @Cleopatra I hope all is well with you.
3 mins to go. Where is everyone? Hahaha
@Cleo, same thing happened to my daughter… in fact, they didn’t even have an online ceremony last year. She was sad.
(3 minutes!!)
@Packmule3, @Janey and @WEnchanteur are not online yet?
I’m here. Getting reading. 🙂
@WEnchanteur is online. I’m reading his posts which are popping up now.
@Janey may be asleep and no news from @pkml3 yet.
Hey @Diane,
Yes all is well with me! I am glad you had a lovely time at the beach!
@GB,
It is kinda sad. I mean I had been in another ceremony, so for me it was okay. Some of my fellow students were very sad about it, though, because they couldn’t celebrate it properly…
Hi ladies
Hey @Packmule3! 🙂
OK Everyone it’s time!!!! Let’s start!
Cleopatra,
Congratulations! Jubilations! Tribulations!
Welcome to a new stage of your life.
Hey @Gloglo!
Hi Gloglo! Hi @pkml3, We are starting now!!
Thank you @Packmule3! *smiles*
I poop here, episode launched.
Coffee and croissant.
I think Suzy did a good job here. I felt for her, her nose was red, her tone was right.
I always preferred the idea of Dalmi working it all out by herself. It would have made her more empowered, I think.
@WEnchanteur…. what you mean poop?
Hey @WEnchanteur!
@GB, I agree with you Suzy did a great job in that scene.
JP’s voice over…so sad. I actually feel bad for our Mr. Regrets here.
The way Dalmi looked at him 🙁
Suzy acted really well here.
JP : It’s not MY fault, it’s grandma one. ^^
@Gloglo she was on the brink of asking DS to be sure, but she really didn’t want to spoil her friendship with him, or appear to mistrust him. She did figure it out actually, but didn’t want to believe that they were lying to her.
GB, poop, or pop ? appear here.
I’m up!!! Hello everyone!
Congratulations @Cleopatra! Cheers to you!
Hey @Janey,
Thank you! Cheers !
I must agree, GB. Even her rising voice, “Why is Mr. Han here, not you?” I thought the subs were lacking here.
But yes, it brought home to JP that he wasn’t wanted. She wanted Dosan, not him, with her.
That’s why he thought of “regrets.” He regretted not stepping up sooner. Had he done so, then Dalmi wouldn’t be crying over Dosan.
Why are kdramas so focused on “regrets.”
@WEnchanteur, please pop up here … but do not poop here LOLOLOL.
Saha is anti-Dosan. LOL!
I love the two boys. They are so loyal defending our Dosanaaaa.
What Sa Ha says is the normal view about who a girl would prefer … even JP later on taunts DS that he would not be the preferred one.
I am glad that JP at least said the truth to Dalmi about DoSan’s feelings…
BCG speech… 😀
And here for another time, DoSan goes to DalMi and he will break down completely…
At least, DS don’t accuse grandma. 😉
@pkml3, I feel the regrets thing is probably cultural. Like the polite thing to do is to apologise, whether one is actually at fault or not.
Hmmm the webpage is loading very slowly suddenly.
I think DS answered correctly… he didn’t think it fun to see her like an idiot. It hurt him more.
These techie guys! They refer to situation as a “bug.” Chulsan’s main worry was their company shutting down because Dalmi discovered the truth. But I doubt Dosan was even worried about the company’s future. He was just terrified that he’d lose Dalmi over this.
Chulsan’s and Youngsan’s towel accessories were cute.
@Cleo, yes NJH/DS acted wonderfully here too. I feel his mortification and pain.
@GB yes, you have a point. I suppose what I mean is that I’d have preferred her exposing the 2 guys and asking all the questions. It’s a matter of execution more than anything. I would have liked less crying and Dalmi dealing with these two guys from a more empowered and dignified position. But I mean, it’s a not big criticism.
NJH and Suzy did great as well in this bus scene.
Dalmi: “Was is fun?”
Dosan: It was painful.
The way Dosan acted and cried here… Very consistent with the episode when Dalmi broke up with him on his birthday.
I know I said he looked ugly crying in the past.. but his acting was amazing. I can feel the pain.
@GB,
All his crying scenes are amazing. I mean you can feel that pain from the screen.
@Cleopatra
What jp said first was “at that time samsan tech needed investment”, so Dalmi immediately think Dosan did it for money, and jp also said it may have been at first and that is either a lie or jp is really just clueless.
Hi @Janey!
I like this plaintive song.
Split screen when DS was crying on his knees at the station was a good visual cue… then he is alone. The dual character is now back to one but with lots of tears.
@Diane,
We wrote the same thing!
@Ella,
I know, still a shitty way to phrase it especially, when he didn’t accept the money, in the end he said that he has feelings for you.
@Gloglo,
It’s quite a “obligatate” passage. some drama, easy to accept, trope.
Then, song, everybody thinking.
Then some breakup : just see us as professionals not more personnal.
It’s like a river of obvious thing in a kdrama. 🙂
Nice way of putting it @Janey.
The difficult morning after ‘a break up’.
The song started kinda eerie then sad..
Dosan was being a good boyfriend here. Waiting for Dalmi and hoping to patch things up. I still can’t accept how other viewers said this was stalking!
It was a lie, Ella.
JP should have said that Dosan refused to take the money. Dosan just wanted to be mentored.
But lol, JP wouldn’t give Dosan any credit.
Do you think In Jae was manipulating DS’s dad when she told him that DS too was working on something that would cut jobs?
How many days have Dosan been crying? Maybe 3 days since scrunchie time. Ahh my heart is aching for him.
@GB,
Yes. If you remember later on Dosan’s dad will give an amazing speech on Sandbox.
@Janey, yes he was upset over the scrunchie, then he disappointed his parents, then this.
GB,
I feel more In Jae just say “the harsh truth” without considering other feeling, as she do when she speak with DM.
InJae is lying. DoSan didn’t create something that will make people get fired…
@Cleo, I recall that DS’s dad did speak, but I have to re-watch to remember the details of his support for his son.
His wife is so quick in picking up on his clues.
*Anything
CROWs : what i like in kdrama, there is always tons of proverbs or metaphor anecdots. people can have whole conversations just with that.
Thanks @WEnchanteur and @Cleo… food for thought.
LOL Alex chasing DS with his scary Advert.
@WEchanteur I agree. Injae I used to think was being a manipulative ***** (sorry) but she is just cut throat straightforward bad ass CEO. Hehe!
LOL @ Alex following Dosan while playing the Money video. If I were Dosan I will be scared. Hahaha
@GB,
His speech was very empowering about how the transision to the future has to be.
Ep title Demo day: an event where start ups demonstrate their products and business models to investors. Investors ask harsh questions and CEOs have to be strong to fight through it.
This title seems a bit early now that we say the actual demo day is ep 11. But the demo day prep happens here, the questioning, etc. everyone is doing a “demo day” on this ep
DM is going thru this personally (questioning) as well.
Except Grandma not doing “demo day” she is evading to ask direct questions from DM although she knows the lie has been revealed. Another lost opportunity for grandma to provide clarity and context to the situation. Now DM feels like a fraud also on the professional side.
@WEnchanteur, I know … those metaphors sometimes got me. Had to look them up to figure out what they were on about… Heads and cutting of tails and all kinds of animals.
@Janey, I guess the title, Demoday is ok in the light that this is the event that DM needs to shine in… she needs to be super confident and be able to sell the company, but it’s also the time when she’s been worst hit, is at her lowest and has lost confidence in herself. So it’s so good that Show has timed the events correctly for maximum impact.
We’ll be so invested in her doing the Demo Day successfully.
@Janey,
The thing that Grandma didn’t say anything to DalMi hits me everytime…
Re. conversation with Alex. This is what many viewers find it hard to accept: that Dosan’s dream was never becoming a big shot, but to have a fulfilling personal and professional relationship with a person: Dami.
Janey,
I was confused why they used Demo Day as title for Ep10 instead of Ep11, I also wonder why Dalmi and Halmeoni never addressed her roles in the fake letters, Halmeoni at least could shed some light for Dalmi when she struggled to sort out everything.
@Janey @Cleo yes… about Grandma. I ranted last week already. No acknowledgement of DM’s pain, no apology, not even a discussion on why.
Hah the guys don’t know how to / cannot interpret the interaction as a break up.
Alex doing “demo” to Dosan to recruit him. It’s weird 3 months have passed before they even talked when his main purpose is to hire him. IRL, if I was Alex I would have found a way to have a talk with him.
Alex recruiting DS. “We are 2STO!” Dosan: We are Samsan Tech!” Aww, DS believes in their tech and his coding abilities. It’s the other stuff in his personal life and relationships that he is still not confident.
Alex is right though as we see after the time jump. The SST boys were more marketable after their 2STO stint, he gave them “wings”.
@Ella, the words that Grandma says to JP, she should be saying to DM.
Dalmi prefer to be alone.
But… JP take the opportunity. 🙂
@GB,
I really cannot understand why Halmeoni didn’t talk to her at all…
Alex: Have you no ambition? No dreams?
Dosan: I have dreams, of course.
Alex: I’ll make your dreams come true. Yes, I’ll be your partner. You will make a lot of money. I’ll make you successful.
Dosan: Does my dream have to be success? Can’t it be a person?
*BOOM!* The look on Alex’ face. Hahaha!
@WEnchanteur, I will give it to JP that at least this time he sat and told her the truth. He also got a chance to declare that he likes her, but at least he didn’t want her to feel uncomfortable and didn’t need her answer. (He did but he said he didn’t so she wasn’t pressured.)
So this is the one scene where I approve of JP. He made DS look better in DM’s eyes.
@Diane,
For a businessman that are unknown words… His software crushed!
@Cleo : grandma really want to create mess until the end, lol
JP confession… while looking the noodles.
He says that “it’s to make you better instead of hide this”.
worst love confession scene ever.
This guy is just eating noodle while saying it don’t rain today.
@Gloglo Some watchers are hypocrites. Like they never dreamed of a person?! They made it sound like Dosan has a crazy stupid dream.
JP is such a perfect second lead. He has a lot of going for him and salmi knows it. I like rivals that pose a real threat to the hero. It makes stories more satisfying.
2 frustrations I have in SU:
I have frustration with grandma for not talking to Dalmi about the lying. At all!
And Ms Yoon for being a JP enabler of toxic behavior.
I like this scene with Sa Ha showing Chul San what was wrong about lying. I wanted to hit him on the head. She acted sooooo welllll. LOL
@Cleopatra haha yes unknown to him!
@Gloglo yes he was a threat only to Dosan who has low self-esteem but in reality he was never really a threat bec Dalmi never liked him.
As a feedback to previous JP confession, next scene show BCG making a cruel and funny false confession to … (don’t remember his name).
@WEnchanteur,
JP was clueless in this scene. At least he tried.
The actor Kim Sun-Ho though is cute!
@Janey same frustrations.. add as well the fact that JP never apologized to Dosan.
@Diane I noticed that a lot of reviewers found Dosan less ‘deserving” than JP for that reason. It just shows that general views on masculinity have yet to evolve for the better.
Grandma catches her daughter-in-law taking down all the part-timer wanted signs.
Mother should have just gone up to ask for a job rather than sabotaging Grandma’s attempts to hire a helper.
Mother is just re-defining in her own words exactly what Grandma is saying. She did run away from home. She is living in the streets although not literally. That’s the kind of person she is… trying to whitewash her dark sins.
DESKER placement product.
@WEnchanteur, CS has the gall to say that DM is clueless about how DS feels, when it is CS himself who is clueless about what a hurtful thing it is to lie even if it makes a person happy. Sa Ha had to show him, even telling him wouldn’t have worked.
JP doing a “demo day” of his feeling for Dalmi thru the noodle confession.
Although he said he does not expect an answer but we will see when he talks to the shaman in the end that he wanted an answer.
CS and YS are the ones who are truly nosy… it’s no business of theirs if DM wants to meet anyone, even if that person is JP…. they have no business trying to be fullbacks and stop JP from meeting DM.
Agree, Janey. The grandma didn’t own up to it. The only “confrontation” we had was Dalmi’s passive-aggressiveness when she put bumpers on the doorway.
@Diane it’s more the perception of a threat than a threat itself with JP. He’s the typical male drama attitude: assh*le with a heart of gold… The seasoned drama viewer like myself kinda like that type by default 🙂
Guest star: Hello, Im lead actress of one of a previous drama of the screenwriter of your drama. So listen to my advice.
JP and DS … “prepare thoroughly so that Ms Seo does not get hurt.”
However JP / DS had already caused her hurt.
DS says “I’m not sure if you should be giving me advice in this situation.”
Then JP tells DS that he told DM that he likes her. And won’t lend him anything further or his past. DS says he doesn’t need any of that, but JP has to taunt him.
“I’m not sure about that.” As if DS would lose DM because he didn’t have the history of letter writing. JP is so irritating.
@Diane – why did I forget that?!!! Yup, biggest frustration is JP not apologizing to DS for lying and gaslighting.
JP wanted to talk to DS, to brag about what he said to Dalmi, and he treated him again awfully in the end…
I am glad that DoSan told him that he doesn’t need anything from him though!
@Gloglo I will admit most dramas I watched actually rooted for that type. And I guess this is why SU and Dosan will always be special. His character was refreshing.
JP and Sa Ha are more alike. She would choose JP over DS anytime, for all the reasons that JP mentioned – ie the things that he lent DS: his clothes, car, watch. I was thinking they’d end up together LOL. However SH finally figured out what a gem CS is.
@GB,
And CS will say later on to SaHa not to “play” with him again.
I think that made her look at him differently.
@GB @Cleopatra JP and his arrogance! Dosan as usual just walked away but was crushed deep inside. Awww our poor boy.
The words of JP that DM’s thinking about “Which will mean more to Ms Seo, Nam Do San without the present (JP) or Nam Do San without the past (DS).
She’s unable to grab any of the soft toys using the claw machine, a metaphor for not being able to decide or grasp what/who she wants or grasp her lost self-confidence.
In a indirect way, shaman end the misunderstanding, without ceremony.
@Diane completely agree. Dosan is very relatable. He reminds me of my son and of my hubby when we were young.
@Diane,
I like that DoSan has this vulnerability that is not afraid to show it to those he cares about. JP is too arrogant for me!
First time I heard text neck I had to google. LOL!
@Cleo Yes Sa Ha realised she’d been ‘playing’ CS and gained respect for him.
And the text neck joke emerges again LOL. From solving the problem of lack of confidence to likening it to praying for help for text neck is so bizarre!!!
Shaman tries to sell it as science but that sets DS off on the scientific method. “Data means nothing unless the other variables were completely controlled. What are the experimental and control groups? … Have you performed a randomized controlled clinical trial?” LOLOL.
@GB, JP rubbing it in the face of Dosan. And he was not a good “brother” to Dosan either.
I like your interpretation of the claw machine.
@GB,
Saha fell in love with ChulSan and she was looking down at him since the beginning. LAter on she was jealous of his fan girls! LMAO
What the point to say to the drunked girl “stay here”, then run all over the city for getting a suit, and show that to the drunken-asleep girl who will forget that next day.
And also if you say “stay here”, of course the person never stay here.
It’s like an horror movie.
This motif about turning up looking cool in the suit… and again when she had to choose a suit to wear for Demoday. At least DS finally realised that the suit wasn’t his style… it wasn’t him. Here, DM is too drunk to realise that she’s asking him to be who he isn’t, which is again a lie, and which again would not really help her.
That networking party, both DM and DS were pretending. Bad thing to go back to, to get lasting confidence back.
Dalmi to Dosan:
“That day, you were my trophy, my pride, my comfort, my wings…
You were my Dream…”
Three years later, those exact words Dosan will say to Dalmi.
THey have come into a full circle.
LOLOL @WEnchanteur…. I’ll need your definition of a horror movie…. you expect the girl to be eaten up by a monster in the guy’s absence?
Shaman doing a “demo day” on ancestors! LOL!
We see here that Dalmi is having impostor syndrome. The lying in her personal life mixing with her professional life since Dosan is in both.
@Cleo, “Dalmi to Dosan:
“That day, you were my trophy, my pride, my comfort, my wings…
You were my Dream…”
Ah I must rewatch that scene … Episode 15? 16?
@Cleopatra Yes this drama tied all loose ends nicely. I also liked how they both said those lines to each other. They were each other’s dream.
#FollowYourDream
@Wenchanteur
Like in horror movie hahaa.. After all the things Dalmi told him about what Dosan and that day meant for her, I think he would do just about anything whether she’ll remember it or not.
@Cleo, you have a good memory of the drama. I forgot all that. But I know there is so many links in the drama, scenes and dialogues related to others.
@GB,
I think it was in Episode 15!
@Diane,
#FollowYourDream indeed…
@GB, yes, a basic rule in “scary movie 1”.
I like the Father and son exercise-grounds conversation
DS to dad : “You’re not my pride.”
Dad : “Are you ashamed of me?”
DS does not get side tracked by the question.
DS : “And I don’t want to be your pride. it’s very tiring to live as someone’s pride and joy. You’re afraid of disappointing the person so you pretend you’re strong and competent. Let’s not be each other’s pride and joy.”
At last DS has started standing up for himself with his dad.
@WEnchanteur,
I remember the things that are remarkable… *winks*
Let’s not be each other’s pride and joy.
Let’s just be father and son.
–> A lot of people didn’t get this and said Dosan was contradicting because his dream is a person but he asked his dad the exact opposite.
@GB,
I really liked that scene. DoSan indeed stood for himself to his dad.
JP can’t even compose a text to DM. So he grabs Dong Cheon’s t-shirt to do the orientation just so that he can see DM and give her advice, without actually calling her up to speak with individually.
And the only advice he can give? … “Don’t be intimidated.” *sigh eyeroll*
@Cleo, if Im lost, I have a better chance to “Find me in your memory” than mine, lol!
@Diane,
He asked his dad to just be his dad and don’t expect unrealistic things from him…
In Jae is so rude, just cutting in on DM who asked a question and no chance for her to get an answer.
The lie made DM feel stupid and incompetent. We look at clothes again. Do clothes make the man or the woman? They give temporary confidence, but the real confidence has to come from within.
Grandma is probably suffering but she cannot say anything.
@WEchanteur,
LMAO!
@GB IKR! And he can’t even say it to her directly. Dosan wins by thousand points when he did his “elevator pitch” right before Dalmi went on stage. THAT is the perfect advice that Dalmi needed.
Dosan in a suit! He definitely looks different in them. He will eventually grow comfortable to wearing them. The suit will have a full circle too. Just like the words “ you are my trophy…” that @Cleo mentioned.
In Jae places her hand on the Sand Box emblem and looks at the girl on the swing. Trying to draw positive vibes from this, when it was also a lie that she was the girl.
DM is walking on the level above and looks down to see In Jae who’s also in a dark jacket pants suit. This is appropriate, DM has the morally higher ground, because she didn’t win any positive feelings from anyone with a lie.
Whenever I see Injae and the Sandbox poster I remember all the memes on social media. Her “girl on the swing” obsession and how she spent more time in the drama with the poster than the rest of the characters.
@Janey,
We wear clothes as an armour. So, yes DoSan will need time to get used to suits…
DS friends are Joseon royal guards here.
Won and Mum
Won tells her to choose money or her pride.
She speaks to her dead husband instead, finally understanding why he wanted to start his own business.
Won thinks she’s talking to him.
Grandma comes to defend her and calls her family ie her daughter-in-law. At last owning her relationship once again. Love how she chased the Wons away!!!
It was very right for the moment because Grandma could really do with more full time help and not part-timers only.
Good conflictual scene.
As soon as we think In Jae hit the target DM, then DS hit harder.
Also, knight attitude, the guy save DM from the sister. DM was ready to accept the sssht.
HHhhaaa, one my favorite scene of the drama
Saha and Chulsan.
In Jae’s Taunt:
“But looking at you now, I’m not sure if what I did was stealing. Who’s scared of getting on the swing and whimpering here, you or me? Who’s scared of failure now, you or me? … Do I still have to apologise to you?”
Loved how DS came to her rescue and literally supported her from behind.
Of course InJae has to apologise. What DM is going through is beside the point. She’s making the stealing of her memory to be out as something else which is sly.
DS: “Apologise to her. you did steal. you were so insignificant that you had to steal her memory. You’re not confident. And you put on a show to hide that. Isn’t it tiring? It must be.”
He admits that he’s done the same thing as In Jae… he stole memories for his own gain.
Nice how all the characters are learning from each other.
Dosan accepting his fault and learning his lesson.. and telling the same to Injae.
Good point, GB.
And I like that this kdrama’s message to young viewers is positive. The key to success is self-confidence. Sure. But the key to self-confidence is preparation.
That’s what Dalmi’s mom warned her about. Don’t just “wing it.” Fraudsters do that. She should have a credible plan.
Even Saha learned her lesson and realized what she was doing to Chulsan…
Yes, that’s the great draw of this show… there are so many characters and practically all of them grow (except JP?) and develop to be better versions of themselves.
@GB,
That scene was amazing!
And Saha will learn that ChulSan has feelings and she doesn’t have to play with him…
@pkml3, Mum had a point, unfortunately she linked it with a criticism against Dad. It wasn’t that he wasn’t prepared, but she didn’t want to wait for him to reach success.
@Cleo true, I like that scene too.
And this one of DS coming up to speak more confidently about starting anew. Suzy’s tearing up again. So good.
So much growth in DS after watering himself with tears LOL.
@Diane,
There is always some thruth during dialogues. Even In Jay dialogue here, it’s why it hit. And even as spectator, you can be twisted and think, oh it’s quite good arguments. Then when there is conflicts with many counter dialogues like that, it make dramas very good. There is so much this kind of good conflicts in kdramas, dialogues are sharp and you believe it.
@GB,
DoSan realized that not standing for himself, made him suffer.
He definitely matured in those days.
“DalMi-ya…Fighting!”
@WEnchanteur – you favorite scene of Saha and Chulsan! They also come full circle in the end.
He made big impression to her on this. He is not a plaything she can play with his feelings but he said it so gently and respectfully.
The sudden shift from hope to vengeance. I like JP’s total confusion here. He looked behind him as if there was someone else that YS was talking to.
@Janey,
Yoo Su-Bin is amazing! I really liked him on C.L.O.Y. too.
His facial expressions can make you laugh.
He was so polite to SaHa and that made her fall in love in the first place with him. He was kind and innocent.
DS spoke to Alex to counter the Plan B of JP, however he didn’t know that Alex wanted only him and maybe the software engineers, but not SST.
A lot of naive person’s mistakes we can learn from here.
Post credit scene, JP with Shaman.
I think JP will buy the ceremony.
This episode has both an Epilogue and a Preview.
LOL Lee Bo Young working over time trying to sell her rituals to JP.
To be fair, JP’s epilogue is amazing and entertaining. LBY appearing again was a good twist.
The end of another fun rewatch party.
Thank you everyone. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Yes, the mom was very cruel to bring up her ex like that. She had a good point but she must have known that it wasn’t the right way to bring it up. Especially when SHE walked out of their marriage, and Dalmi.
But in the end, Dalmi got her father’s vision and enthusiasm. But she also had her mother’s caution. She thought long and hard about the Tarzan project and then she made sure she had a proposal on how to make it work.
I prefer drunk JP than sober JP. Just saying..
@Cleo me too… drunk JP is less confident and arrogant.
@Janey, it’s not only that, really one of the scene hitted me the most in the whole drama. I got instant high emotion.
And the way how Saha react, it’s like she consider seriously CHul san for the first time. It’s an inigntion key scene, make me feel Saha consider her chance to meet a so sincer guy, not playing about her. Hidden love confession here, and she s fully receptive to this. It’s the moment when she ll start to love him too.
@WEnchanteur, at least it’s the moment when Sa Ha will start to respect CS more because he stood up to her and was polite at the same time.
@GB,
I watched a video with Kim Sun-Ho. He is funny and charming.
This scene reminded me of what I saw in the video.
Bye @Diane,
Have a nice weekend!
The difference in JP and Dosan’s words to Dalmi for demo day:
JP – be confident and it will be a success does not really help boost confidence especially with impostor syndrome. They are just platitudes.
Dosan’s is highlighted Dalmi’s actions and results, he gave evidence of her achievement and not to fight that.
@Janey,
You are right. DoSan also revealed to DalMi how he felt all this time about the situation, when he confronted InJae.
She listened to him. She knew that he was being sincere.
Thankyou alls for the rewatch.
See you soon.
@Janey yes, I loved how DS put into action again the giving of confidence to DM He assured her of what she really needed to know… that she made a good difference to SST.
JP’s advice was merely to not be intimidated.
Adieu @WEnchanteur!
I will watch Sisyphus to read your theories on the other threads!
Thanks everyone for a great party! See you on the other threads and next week.

The writer has a lesson in life here: Saha was telling CS and YS all the aspects as to why Dalmi will choose JP over Nam Dosan. It is interesting that the list of attributes are the same ones as to why Dalmi’s mother chose Chairman Won to marry, but later regrets it because she discovers there is more to a relationship than material things. To me Chairman Won and JP have a lot in common (selfish, demeaning of others, egotistic,…. JP a 7 in these attributes, Chairman Won a 10). The difference between the two is JP has morals would did not take Grandma’s money in the can (so she labeled him good boy), but Chairman Won does not have morals would take anything he desires even when he does not deserve it.
Good point @DJBRAWL Pity JP did not try harder to live up to the name of ‘Good Boy’. If he had been born in similar circumstances as Won Sang Su, might he have been even an 8 or a 9 on that range of attributes.
@DJBRAWL – that’s true! Even Saha herself deviated from what she said here (list of “good” attributes) in the end when she fell in love and chose ChulSan.
@Cleopatra, Kalimera and belated congratulations on getting you diploma. I hope that you were able to celebrate.
Kalispera @Fern,
Thank you! The celebration was family oriented. Hopefully, I will celebrate it with friends when we will be out of the quarantine!
