I claim credit to founding the IkJun +Jang ship. lol. They make the best pairing because their personalities match like chopped liver and fava beans, and they look adorable together.
Hmmm…what name shall we give them?

Update: 4/30/20
There’s a line now at BitchesRUs for “Sense of Humor,” “Crap Happens” and “Who Asked Your Opinion Anyway?” at an affordable price of 100 grams for $1.
Anybody caught spamming me will get blocked in a Bitch move.
I’m calling them the “sleeper couple.” The director and writer have been trolling the viewers all along.
If Jang would just stop her delulu-ness over JW, she’d see that one guy had always wanted her from the start: IkJun. She’s after the wrong guy. She should go for IJ.
They’re a match; they bring out the best in each other.
Episode 1. Fateful first encounter
She was the one who first worked with him when he performed the impromptu liver transplant. I say that they’re FATED to be together.
Episode 2. He pursued her.
a. “Pick me! Pick me! Pick me up!”
b. “You know what’s in my heart, right?”

c. He dreamed of being with her.
d. He admired her work ethics while JW didn’t. She wasn’t JW’s cup of tea but she was definitely IJ’s type.
3. Episode 3. Their affection for each other is reciprocated.
Waiting for her to pick him was the “most important moment of his life.”
b. And she liked him back.
c. She didn’t mind that he had a kid.
d. They even looked like a couple.
e. She wasn’t shy with him. She wasn’t tongue-tied like she was whenever Andrea was around.
f. He admitted admiring her courage.
g. She even bought him food. Awwww. Wasn’t that thoughtful of her?
Episode 4: He would make her an ideal boyfriend.
Although he’s divorced, he was still into romance. He’d make her a sweetheart of a boyfriend, leaving love notes here and there.

Episode 5. She was herself with him.
She didn’t act like a lovesick fool when she was around him. She wasn’t embarrassed to invite herself over to his house.
Episode 6. He was her Prince Charming.
He rescued her. It was “fate” that brought him there just when she needed him.
Episode 7. He behaved like her “Oppa.”
a. He wasn’t shy about praising her in public.
b. He’s the “Noona Oppa who buys me food.”
Chocopies?? Pffftt. Fangirls made such a big deal about JW sliding over some chocopies (freebies!) to her.
THIS is the one they should be swooning over. He bought her TWO burgers from the (product placement) Egg Drop. He doted on her.

See that? In every episode, IJ gave her the attention she needed, and she basked in it. Then whenever he was with her, he didn’t need to show his goofball side like he did with Songhwa. He acted his age because he had to pamper her.
He treated her special.
Just watch it: the writer and director have a special plan for these two.
LOL @pkml3, I don’t know if I’d wish Jang on IJ, but maybe Uju will straighten them both out!!
I just told @Old American Lady this:
“If Jang would be a disastrous stepmom to Uju, given her lack of empathy bone, then she would be a disastrous mom to JW’s future kidS (emphasis on plural) as well, given her lack of empathy bone. Do you see what I mean?
JW loves kids.
Of course, the Director/writer of this drama could have an implicit bias that women can only love their biological children and not stepchildren nor adopted children. 😈 That ain’t right.
I think it says a lot about Jang’s deplorable character when viewers can’t imagine her as Uju’s stepmom, but they can easily see Songhwa stepping into the role.
But why should Jang be good for JW but not good for IJ? Because JW was a single man, and IJ was a divorced man? Because JW is a saint, and IJ is a manic man-child? Because JW has no kid, and IJ does?
Because JW actor is again playing a pathetic second lead just like Chilbongie in Reply 1994 and deserves only a supporting character like Jang, and not the main female character Songhwa? Aigoo. The actor should stop taking calls from ShinLee duo. They don’t treat him right. 😂”
I agree I actually shipped them too in the season, and I’m on the look out to see if there’s more this season the writer has for them. Because I think they are imbedded clues about them from the start, but with this writer and director you never know what they want to do. Still think it’s open options for now and they could switch plans halfway.
I think IJ is going to end up as a single dad. He will return to his “first love”. UJu. Remember how we picked up UJu was feeling insecure after the divorce? How he took forever to pick his socks. How he asked to accompany dad in one scene but IJ said no. How he keeps talking about Mone and her mom (but we’ve never ever seen her or her mom). What parent doesn’t know about who takes his kid out for meals? UJu seemed to imply it was just him and Mone and her mom? Even if I had a nanny for my kid, I would want to know who he’s on play dates with etc. Maybe I am paranoid but it just strikes me as odd that IJ had zero idea that UJu was a regular at Egg Drop and dined there with a complete stranger? 😬. UJu has a peanut allergy. I have a child with a nut allergy and she was never out of my sight. I was always there with her in case she inadvertently ate something she shouldn’t so that I could administer adrenaline. I would not be letting her dine out unsupervised with someone I didn’t know.
You too, BeingWritten?? I thought I was the only one. Let’s have a — what do they call that? — a fan meet? I’ll raise some funds for our couple and send a coffee truck with our fanclub’s name, or whatever it is that fangirls do for these actors who don’t even know they exist. pwahahahahahaha.
Fair enough, nrllee. 🙂
I think this issue was mentioned when one of the songs was discussed. Uju left him a note with the cookies. I can’t remember the episode now. I’ve to look it up.
But yes the clues were definitely there for Romantic Winter. 😂. PD Shin sealed it for me when he released the SechSkies MV. But I think with the SechSkies MV, he’s hinting that they don’t end up together.

@pkml3 The logic of those shippers eludes me, mostly because I guess they are going by how they feel rather than by clear follow-through logic.
They may also think that they have a handle on it because JW is played once again in the same way as in Reply 1994, which is ‘logical’ because we too look back on the old Reply series to figure out what Shin-Lee might be up to.
Dramas and dramas and this is what I’ve learned from them all, for a couple it’s all about eating together, understanding/talking things together, being there for each other and so if these are not ‘signs’, I don’t know what is. LOL!
Hahaha @packmule3, now that I’ve read the reasons/explanations of why Jang and IJ should be a couple, I’m convinced too. Rather than with JW I saw Winter is more relaxed whenever with IJ. It’s good for her stability of a relationship. Buuut… for me… She needs a character development really. I mean, I want IJ and UJ get better person as a new family member than IJ’s ex wife. Even though IJ sometimes hyper or crazy, I still look at him as a great person who had successfully raise his kid alone so far. One of the scene where I like his character is when he explained the condition to the patients while helping the patient’s boy with his robot toy. Previously we see that the patient and his wife got annoyed by their own child and refused to help with his toy. I hope to see something good too in Jang Winter character in the future (where I haven’t seen so far), just as good as he is.
In other perspective, I saw a possibility too in @nrllee comments as for IJ would end up as a single dad. Or we could use some other possibility, a new character who will be brought up by the Duo creator maybe in the last episodes of this series (just like when chilbongie bumped with her probable future wife in R94, played by jung yu mi).
And yes @packmule3.. If YYS not get the first lead female too in this drama, I think he has to consider in accepting the ShinLee duo offer in the future.. lol
By the way, I saw a this poster for Second Season where in that SHwa and IJ hold umbrella. However the other guys not holding any. Is it another “hint” for us to expect what we will get from the second season? If both of SH and IJ hold their own umbrella, it means that they won’t be together under the same umbrella, right..
@moonstar,
You understood my wicked sense of humor.
The umbrella was discussed in the other thread on “Hospital Playlist: Poster.” You and I came to the same conclusion. Since IJ and Songhwa had own umbrellas, they wouldn’t be sharing the same umbrella. So sad. 🙂
Yup @packmule3. Ep7. The song You Always.

@packmule, woaa thanks I think I might missed to read the thread about poster 😅😅 will check it out sooon.
@packmule do you mind if I compile this Jang’s not so secret admire into a video ?
@moonstar @nrllee even though I don’t like the way IJ as character behaves around SHwa when it comes to romance, I have to admit that I admire him as a single dad. And as you mentioned, the woman who will enter their life has to be compatible with both IJ and Uju as well. It’s not gonna be easy. So yeah, for now I can only imagine IJ as a single dad. Except if the second season will show Jang meet Uju and how they will get along well later, than maybe…..
What worries me, is that SHwa keeps silent all these years because she doesn’t want to “disturb the calm water” as Andrea’s mother put it. Waiting for S2 is agonizing.
As much as Ikjun annoys me when he is being over the top, I would not want him to settle with a boogey trap either. He deserved a woman who can treat him right and not get on another boat the moment he is too busy paying attention to his patients. The girl must be able to care for Uju too and balance the hectic Ikjun. A 29 years old GS resident who can’t control her blabber and one has been having menstrual cramp, taken med for it but being so careless on her own health condition is not someone I would want to be anywhere near Uju. She did not even know where her priority lies. So yeah. Not on team Ikjang 🤪 People with her kind of attitude don’t change overnight to being compassionate. She has since the year she attended her first patient to at least try to change but nope. Not happening🤷♀️.
With the sunset clip of the divorcè boys together, perhaps they both will just focus their future on their immediate priorities i.e. mom and son. Love is not written into the addendum on their description but their mom and son, respectively, were mentioned as being their focal point going forward. And if kalguksu scene is anything to come by (as captioned by HPO in the recent HP poster’s post), Ikjun and Shyeong will remain centered on Uju and Mom, just like in Kalguksu.
As much as I would love Minha for Shyeong, professionalism wise – all residents who are crushing on their Professors won’t get to further their romantic dream. Although I would make a reservation on Minha because thus far they haven’t showed her having any flashback first meeting with Shyeong, or sunset scene unlike chihong and that person. Their story might be -》 meet again after few years once Minha completed her board exam or worked at another hospital. Similar to Ikjun. Plots can go any other ways😁
@BulmaGoku. I know what you mean by admiring IJ as a single dad. As far as dads go, here doing a stellar job. He’s gone above and beyond. And I would’ve thought that UJu would be more than secure in the knowledge that his father adores him…he is an UJu-holic after all? But little things that slip out seem to be evidence that UJu still is insecure? I am not writing it, Lee is. And that’s what she’s hinting at. When UJu takes a long time to choose his socks, it’s classic stalling technique used by children because they don’t want their parent to go. They create imaginary scenarios in their head to buffer what scares them most. That he will be without a parent because IJ seems to love to party so much and work so hard. So he creates an imaginary world where he’s already “married” to Mone so his mother in law becomes his new “mother”. And that scene with the Michael Jackson moonwalk? UJu had asked IJ to “take me with you”. He misses his dad. He’s longing for more intimacy and time. It may just be for a season until he feels secure again which would allow IJ more freedoms with adult living. But IJ and UJu would always be a pair. So if there’s a new woman in his life, he needs to take UJu into account and how well she would adjust to mothering duties. Jang falls well short in this department so whilst Romantic Winter has been teased in S1, I seriously doubt it would sail by the end of S2.

@nrlee, @BulmaGoku, I agree with you that Ikjun will probably stay as a single dad. Maggot is not mature enough IHMO to be the mom of a child who is 6 or 7 years old, since like others have pointed out, she seems to lack an empathy bone.
It’ll be interesting to see her character development in season two and see if and how her personality changes. I doubt she’ll change too much though. Maybe she’s more suitable to date a young resident and they can grow and mature together.
I’m late to this thread, but here goes anyway: I think Jang might do just fine as a stepmom to a boy. She’s sister to a younger brother, and he appears comfortable depending on her. He asked to share her home so he could live closer to his work, and she welcomed him. His driving her to and from work may be to test cars, but it also suggests a caring brother. His words to her as he drops her off also suggest a healthy brother-sister relationship.
