    I laughed when the priest in Church today said there was something and a blessing for all mothers,… and he meant those who had actually given birth to babies. LOL. Goodness knows who else was trying to be a mum.

    I’m so chuffed that my forgetful children actually thought of buying in some food I like… they like it too of course LOL. Let’s see if they manage to get themselves organised to actually get it. 🙂

    For those BoDers in countries celebrating Mother’s Day on May 8: if you are a mom, you’re doing the most important job ever; and all adult children carry on the legacy of their mothers. Mothers, on behalf of our children, let’s advocate for peace. Children, to honor our mothers, let’s advocate for peace.

    As for mothers in Kdramas, I am grateful to have seen the ahjummas in Reply 1988. How wonderful that they were the core of a community raising children. It takes a village. Much as I like them, the Kdrama mom I applaud the most is Kim Hyun Ja, from Because this Is My First Life, because of the advice she gave the man who was marrying her daughter. And in Kdramas I’ve watched this past year, I rooted most for Wang Joon Hee, the mother in Uncle who unflinchingly fought for the physical and mental well being of her son.

    I will be having a quiet Mother’s Day, as both my children are grown and living away from home. I suppose their being successfully launched in society means I succeeded. And I give a nod to my own mother, whom I dearly miss, because she taught me by example how to mother the next generation.

    I would like to add that as someone who has had significant mother figures who reared me and lived me because my own Mom passed away when I was a toddler, that kind mothering comes in many forms. My Mom substitutes did more than just physically care for me but nurtured me. They are all gone now, but rain in my ❤️.

    I would also like to repeat thaty husband is theom of Dads. He was there from diapers to development and was always dependable when caring for our son. We have both been blessed with a lovely adult who in spite of his disability has a professional job, lives independently and is a sweetheart.

    So for Moms and Mother figures, please have a wonderful day. But in truth, every day should be your day.❤️💐

    My dear @pkml3, I trust you had a peaceful Holy Mass and no need to exercise ‘ushering out’ duties. May we indeed have good thinkers who use their hearts as well as their brains.

    I used to sit at the back with the little kids and their care givers… couldn’t decide if it was more entertaining or prayerful. LOL. I’m glad that more churches have decided to incorporate the little ones in the body of the Church where they can hopefully see and slowly participate more in the celebration of Holy Mass.

    @OAL, here in Venezuela we have a saying that is usually said to step-fathers or father figures: “padre no es el que engendra sino el que cría” [father is the one that raises not the one that begets]. Regrettably your biological mother could not be there for you but you still got the privilege of receiving love, and that marks you forever 😀 .

    Happy Mother’s Day to @packmule and all BOD’ers. Yesterday was also my mother’s Birthday and she was able to celebrate her birthday and Mother’s day with family and friends. Me being 20,000 miles away looked and the pictures and video and enjoyed being in their midst.
