I don’t like the Actress playing the FL much and the Second Lead is a bit too in your face when it comes to forcing his interest but I like the small town feel and the actor who plays the vet.
Oh the kids are adorable! And the love advice episode was cuteness personified. I enjoyed episodes 5-8 more than the initial ones.
@NoOne, I agree about the love advice episode, with the children’s conflict mirroring the adults. Between the children and the animals, there’s no end to adorable.
As far as the acting goes, overall it’s a bit like watching your local theatre group with some having slightly better acting chops than others, but few with any solid experience. Strangely, I don’t care. It must be my frame of mind.
@packmule3 you knit? Currently crocheting myself. Amigurumi patterns. I like that they are quick to finish up – I choose the smaller ones. For my Sunday School kids and friends and family. I hadn’t anticipated how popular they would be? I thought they would be into computer games and plastic toys but no…they were thrilled. Makes my crocheting a lot more enjoyable as a result.
@nrllee, I had to look up Amigurumi. You are very good if you can do that. Those are far cuter than most crocheted animals/dolls I’ve seen. Which is the most popular?
Episode 9. Sang Hyeon, the 2nd ML, is no longer the only one who is open about his feelings. The ex-girlfriend Min isn’t going to go home until she rekindles the relationship she had with Ji-Yul and she isn’t above letting everyone know. In their proactive ways, the peach farmer and she are very similar.
Now everything seems to be rushing ahead as the time the vet has in the village gets shorter. The best scenario would be for the vet to understand if he could or couldn’t survive in a small village and make his plans from that perspective. I don’t see Officer Ahn living in Seoul; she would have moved away like the rest of the young people by now and she’s 27 already.
I never understand how people can force themselves upon others as Min is doing. To me it would be a very off-putting. I get that she’s desperate, but if she’s working near Ji-Yul’s veterinary hospital in Seoul, I think it would have been better for her to wait a couple of weeks and do something positive there.
To me Officer Ahn seems very passive about the two men. She seems to be encouraging Sang Hyeon by not discouraging him, if you know what I mean. She is keeping her options open perhaps. I think if I were a man, I would find her actions confusing. It reminds me of old films where a woman would be passive about two men; the men would fight and she would go off with the winner. Ick.
Ji-Yul as well can’t seem to get a word in with Ja-Young. No privacy. He should just offer to take her out, somewhere beyond the village, where they can talk some more.
I still like the animals, though. I guess I was a bit disappointed with the story in the latest episode.
Hi @Fern, I think we’ll see Our Officer Ahn singing in the contest That’s why they cast Joy our idol actress She has been deglamourized and dressed in country clothes to distinguish her from in the sophisticated Min. The make up scenes with her eventually messed up lipstick fulfilled the makeover trope but this drama is full of them
Nevertheless I am enjoying this light and airy show I like the wide children and the animals
I think they did a great job wrangling the animals and simulating the various veterinary procedures. There is not a lot of plot to resolve and I think it will be fun to see how they wrap this up.
Fern
Yes @Old American Lady, we’ll have that singing contest. I can’t imagine Officer Min changing locations. The town seems like it would fall apart without her, but we’ll see…
As to Ji-Yul, I keep wanting to say, “Kiss her, you fool!” In the gifs above and especially in the shed when they were storing the peach liquor.
Rebecca
Saw your posts on this series, so gave it a go. It’s enjoyable! So far it seems to have avoided the typical pitfalls of romcoms that I don’t like – it’s not gooey sweet or slap-stick silly. The scenes of the countryside are refreshing and the farm animals are fun.
Not sure if it’s her acting or the scriptwriting, but I do wish that Officer Ahn’s character showed more feeling in her interactions with Ji-Yul. But maybe being circumspect about her feelings is how she’s coped with being abandoned by her mother. BTW, do we know what happened to her father?
When I watched the scene with her singing at the outdoor dinner (ep 4), I thought, “She’s got a good voice, but the song/singing isn’t particularly good.” So I figured there must be a much better performance in store – I agree with @Fern that Ahn/Joy will definitely appear in the singing contest.
Fern
@Rebecca, I think that the character was aiming her song at the audience – something older that everyone knew. I think it was trot, but I’m no expert. For the singing contest, she’ll probably sing something in a more current pop style. Here’s a cute clip of Joy and V (not together, sadly) singing trot. V is really into it – hysterical.

Why am I having problems with apostrophes? I put them on plurals like a grocer and leave them off other places. (adults’)
Must get some coffee down my throat.

@Fern. Baymax (from Big Hero 6). And the Pokemons. The girls like the little animals that I make.
