The thread is open.
I’m still watching this. I’m just behind on my write-ups because I had to add “Unlock the Boss,” “Forbidden Marriage,” and “Alchemy of Souls 2” on my “To be reviewed” pile.

Let’s enjoy the show.
Kalimera @Packmule and Ladies,
Let us see what will happen next…
Thank you for the new thread Q! 🙇🏻♀️
Yes, @Cleo, let’s see what episode 13 and 14 have for us.
I want more kisses! 🤣
Kalimera @agdr03,
Yes, more kisses are jinja jinja appreciated! 😂
Hello? What the heck?!? What plot twist is this…?
🧐🤯😥
@Cleo, I tried to watch it but the subs are not insync so I will have to wait tonight so they can fix it.
Kalimera @agdr03!
I won’t spoil it for any of you…
Oh wow! Yeah, what’s with that? I thought it will stick to a healing drama but why is that there?
@agdr03,
My point exactly…
We only have 3 episodes and it showed that there’s 3 more people on DJ’s list.
I’m scared now who it will be.😬
@agdr03,
Basically we have two. The 3rd one was the one Dong Joo was talking to in last night’s episode. You are right about the suspence though. 🙄
Oh you’re right @Cleo. Only 2 left. I don’t want anyone to go on that list now.
@agdr03,
*sigh*
Episode 13
So another sweet or romantic or healing drama bites the dust? LOL.
Ending sorta creeped me out.
I was all prepared to say at last we have an explanation for what happened that rainy night… and then we don’t.
@Unnie,
I didn’t expect something like that to happen… O.o
Hi @Cleo, we really need Episode 14, like right now!!! At least you’ll get to watch it sooner with subs. I guess I might be able to find the raw version, but then I’ll be guessing at what they’re saying and getting all confused LOL.
@GB Unnie,
Prime uploads the episodes at 8 o’ clock my time.
When I will watch it, I can comment about it trying not to give any spoilers to others… LOL
@Cleo, it’s fun to comment without spoilers, while whetting everyone’s appetite with all kinds of vague hints LOL. You do do a good job of that!
@Unnie,
Well, we have to discuss about it and I am trying my best to leave those vague hints in order for all of you to show up in the thread! *innocent smile*
Thank you for your kind words! You made my evening! *grins*
Be prepared Ladies: We have now entered the Twilight zone. It’s a thriller. I repeat…! FAST YOUR SEATBELTS! 😵😲😑
Hi @Cleo, I only caught the first few minutes of the raw Ep 14 and thought that maybe ‘plot twist’ seems too mild a phrase to describe this. You could be right… a genre twist might be more the thing! Fasten our seat belts indeed!
(Waiting for the subbed episode…. waiting…. waiting…)
I FF’ed to the ending of Ep 14. 🤦♀️
What happened to my romcom???!
@pkml3 aahhh so you couldn’t resist!!! Yes, what genre is this exactly? A new style in series making. Start off as A and somehow cut to Z? Not even a gradual transition? No warning at all is the thing that will bother (to put it mildly) faithful viewers.
Oh dear. I’m still cleaning and I wanted to watch it straight after but it doesn’t sound good. 😩
He gave me creepy vibes in that scene when
Yup @pkml3… I was already creeped out by the end of Ep 13.
@agdr03, you and me both… but while curiosity pushes me into wanting to watch, distaste for the turning off from the path pulls me back.
Whoops accidentally posted too soon.
I was going to say that the cop gave me a creepy vibe when we first saw him visiting the comatose person. He had that smug look in his face as he exited the room.
But I dismissed it as amateur acting. 😂
Then when he began working at the police dept and he snooped in the reports of old traffic accidents, that looked suspect to me.
But I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he dropped in at the hospital and saw the ExGF (? forgot her name) during her shift. I thought he felt guilty about the whole accident and was investigating it on his own for closure.
But Ep 14 removed all doubts. 😠
I think @agdr03 is worried that Dongjoo’s death is the endgame. How many deaths/crossovers has she assisted in? When I left off, she still had 3 more to do.
When the files went missing, I thought something was off because the cop was looking into the bongsu market accident specifically.
Always something about instinct. 😟
Is it for revenge? Or his just really a creepy bad guy? Is he really adopted?
Oh I don’t think DJ will be killed because the opening credits is a happy one. 😆
I’m scared for the dad and the uncle.
It should be 3 but after they showed it, the brother of the cop died so I thought it’s down to 2.
The files?
I haven’t started on Ep 13. I only saw the last seconds of Ep 14. So I don’t know anything about the files.
I guess DongJoo won’t give him a send-off when he dies. Murderers don’t get to have last requests, right?
@pkml3 DJ found out that the murder-suicide mum did not wake up when she touched her, hence she concluded that killers and those who killed themselves would not be able to meet her.
If culprit is to die, I want him to explain what he’s about before he does so. Since he is not a good guy, now all his ‘flashback memories’ are suspect and we no longer know what to believe of all that’s been shown to us.
So you did catch those creepy vibes… I brushed them off but I suppose they were supposed to be warnings from hindsight.
When the cop got transferred to the investigation unit. He got given access to the cases because his new so he needs to learn about it.
One of those is the bongsu market incident and we see him looking at it. Then on episode 13 when TH requested to have a look at the footage of it, it’s not there anymore.
So his purpose in transferring there is to get rid of the files. I can still be wrong but his creepy now.
DJ knew that she can’t give people their last request if they’ve killed someone. But the cop’s brother was able to go in the special sending room that’s why she knew he didn’t kill Junhoo. 🙁
Thanks for explaining, @agdr03. I’ll watch them this weekend. I’ll watch “Unlock the Boss” first.
My husband said I was talking in my sleep the past few nights (weird!), so I’ve stopped watching kdramas at least an hour before bedtime and started doing jigsaw puzzles and crossword, and gift wrapping presents to avoid over-stimulation. 🙂
@GB,
The title for Ep 13 is “Our attitude towards truth”. Maybe that’s why you feel like you need to reassess what you know about the cop, including his flashback memories. Kinda like DongJoo discovering that the “truths” she held dear were actually untruths. Must be earth-shattering for her.
Thanks for the Ep 13 title. I’ve just finished Ep 14 with subs.
I’d like to know the title of Ep 14 too.
My overall emotional response is sadness. Support, therapy, understanding could have prevented what happened, but there’s not enough of the right help that is accessible to those who need it most.
Another show that could be used as a cautionary tale on drinking to excess.
I trust you have more peaceful nights (at least quietness for your husband LOL). One of my kids has to start work at 6am, but on shift, so my husband and sometimes I am up at 4am for some days. Great sleep disruption!
Ep 14 is “You are flawless”.
I’m not entirely convinced that my sleep-talking is related to my increased kdrama watching. It can also be caused by the holiday parties my hubby and I have been attending lately. I’m still in the “social butterfly” mode when I go to bed.
🙂 Waking up at 4am isn’t so bad, @GB, as long as you can take a power nap during the day. Lol. Doesn’t that remind you of sleep disruption when you had babies?
My hubby asked me if I wanted a puppy for Christmas and I said nope! As much as I love dogs, I don’t think I want to be a mom again to babies (fur babies) that will need to be potty-trained and walked outside when it’s 15 degrees in winter time.
@pkml3
Yes, I’d guess your sleep is definitely affected more by all the partying in the evenings than by your usual pursuit of dramas. However it’s also likely that having a quieter few minutes before bed may bring more restful sleep.
I’m still waking at 5-5.30am even now after the babies are all grown. But waking a 4am for 4 days then having a break for 5 days and then waking again at 4am for 4 days is not my normal. We trust it will not go on indefinitely because we hope that another job has come along the way!!!
Definitely do not want any pets at all. I heard how much effort and cost a well cared for pet involves and nope!
Thanks for the Ep 14 title, “You are flawless”. I’m trying to imagine who would say that and to whom it would be applied.
Would our culprit think he has to be flawless to make up for his shitty past? No one seems that narcissistic in this show.
It’s scary if the flashback version given in Ep 13 was true but drink changed a person almost completely into some ‘monster’ within an hour.
Ep 13 “Our Attitude Towards Truth”. This one I can sort of understand. We are seeing it now on the international front, the creation of ‘truth’ that one may want others to accept. That happens in this show, as well.
However regarding Ep 14’s title, I’m wracking my meager brains wondering what it refers to. We and the characters themselves know about the disparity between the appearance of being good vs the reality, let alone being flawless. The only flawless ‘character’ who is called upon from time to time, is God. 🙂 😉
Kalimera Ladies!
@GB Unnie “You are flawless” for me means the song Hae Anh’s mom was singing to him.
She was comforting her child who was afraid of the his dad to close his eyes and when he will open them, he will be what he wanted aka a police officer. Then he will be flawless.
I was sad about his story to be honest. Not only his story but also his brother’s story. Unfortunately victims repeat the same mistakes of their enviroment. I have learned that while watching “Through the Darkness”. The impulse HA expressed was imprinted in his subconscious and he brought it forward.
Those kids needed medical supervision by a psychologist. The social service should have known better, but they didn’t. The boy witnessed a murder and of course he would manifest a mental disorder in the long run.
He was not at fault about the accident per se. He was fighting with this drunken brother who was also hitting him. He would have saved both of them, but his self preservation instinct kicked in and he fled the scene. What an unfortunate choice did he make.
“You are a valedictorian” you cannot become a hit and runner. “You are flawless” is what Hae Ahn was saying to himself…
Thanks @Cleo! Great explanation.
Yes, I’m sad. I hope there’s a better solution besides dying.
Not the fun show that I thought I signed up for. Now I watch to see if there’s healing.
You are welcome Unnie.
I hope that too. These boys needed love and comfort. I do hope there is healing and not hatred for him. Unfortunately victims can become awful perpetrators.
Although, I didn’t sign for such a show. I am glad the jakkanim is doing justice to what she is bringing forward for the audience to see.
It is urgent to protect and try to save wounded individuals from domestic violence. The older boy attacked his father after he was wounded and he realized that his mother was dead and for that they put him in juvenile jail? His life was indeed hard.
Society is shocked by the news of death here and there, but in general does nothing to save those who are left behind from the ramifications of what actually happened.
I hit pause on this after episode 10 because o became to annoyed with the male lead and lack of explanation to his ex. I just did a skim through of these comments and goodness, now I’m curious. I think I’ll wait for it to finish airing and binge the last six but I’m glad you all are keeping up discussion.
Did your hubby say if you spoke in a different language like Korean? 😂
I’ll watch this weekend in between Christmas lunch and unpacking at sister’s place.
Can’t wait to watch Forbidden Marriage too. ☺️
Thank you for the title of episode 14, @packmule3. Gosh, this show really trolled us with the accident scenes.
I agree with Cleopatra that ‘You are Flawless’ is the way Hae An wanted to keep his reputation. The Valedictorian; the guy who overcame all odds to become a star policeman. His downfall started when he put his brother’s jacket on to cover his uniform and agreed to drink to celebrate his own success. It was as though he symbolically assumed his brother’s identity and doomed mentality.
I kept yelling at the screen to Dong Joo, first when she knocked on Hae An’s door in the morning, then when she spoke to him later. Why approach someone you know may have committed a crime by yourself without witnesses or protection?
What was the message Young Chul wanted to pass on?
Another thing that strikes me about this drama – how many people blamed themselves for Joon Ho’s death. Tae Hee, for certain, for asking him to meet at night. Hae An, when learning that Dong Joo was related to Tae Hee and Vincent, said it was his fault (even though it didn’t seem like a direct link at the time) because he didn’t stop his brother from drinking. Now we have Young Chul’s friend Mi Young saying the same thing, because she believed he may have been drinking because of the way his incoherent texts – she should have told him not to drive. Finally we see the footage of the cctv – the child running down into the road where he might have been hit by any car or truck passing on that wet night, drunk driver or not. If Hae An had made some different choices, as @Cleopatra suggested, he might even then have been exonerated. But he chose himself and his career over his brother and over Joon Ho.
@Fern
I agree with your points. Show really showed us so many times the accident but only from certain angles while hiding parts of the truck, and only in fragments so that we couldn’t piece the whole incident in chronological order.
So we are to both commiserate with Hae An for being traumatised and mentally unhinged as well as to condemn him for the evil route he chose, in order to protect himself at the expense of lives and other’s happiness?
Nice take on: “His downfall started when he put his brother’s jacket on to cover his uniform and agreed to drink to celebrate his own success. It was as though he symbolically assumed his brother’s identity and doomed mentality.” Knowing that his brother, like his father before him, was an alcoholic and that both tended to violence when in their cups, HA really made a deplorable choice to allow him to drink. If not for his drunken beating up of and on HA, HA would have paid attention to the road instead of being distracted.
Yes, the death of Joon Ho was the event that disrupted the happiness and peace of many persons. So many apologised for real or imagined wrongs that they wrought upon JH. Even DJ herself kept apologising for running away.
I’m suddenly reminded that we never got to know what it was exactly that got TH to break off with Chung Ha. She never got closure but we are guessing that it’s because she saved Young Chul, although TH claims that, that was not the reason. I wonder if she’ll make a comeback in the last couple of episodes. I feel sorry for her.
