Hi pm3 and GB.
Here today, as usual. 😉
Hi @WE! I hope notifications of your comments come up on my email. I did not see that you’d come here earlier.
Hi @GB, I am on standby.
Oh? Notifications? I don’t use that. I didn’t know we could. But my mailbox is already such a mess, I couldn’t get more.
@WE, I’m very sleepy this evening. If there are long silences I could be nodding off zzzzz LOL.
OK it’s time. Let’s go!!!
@Hi Feifei
Hi @FF, good to see you! We start now!
Hi @WE.
Please don’t doze off @GB …. hehe
@WE, Each time you post something, it comes in my email. So I can reply directly to you and not only to the thread.
So we have a recap that includes Round 3. Now to Round 4.
It’s first time Nao have a real game challenge.
Aaaah. Now it’s Akyama making the clown during test montage. ONLY…
It’s Nao imagination.
And like a 6th sens, Akyama see himself in Nao imagination. LOL.
This episode had so much explanation on how the game works. Nao acting so kiddish.
Akyiama psychologicaly intoxicate the other team during the test phase. ^^
Wow scary! All the chips get taken by the Agency.
I wonder if Akiyama tricked Nao with his recommended strategy.
Once again, Nao cheated so easely. lol.
It makes audience mad. BAKAAAAAA.
Everything go bad, as it’s supposed. Tension increase.
Nao is unable to win that.
We all know Nao is sure to be taken in but the lady cannot use the same trick in the game again.
The reactions of the team members is more entertaining LOL. I don’t know how they can tell where they place the ball.
Fukunaga has to shout time. Why Kosaka is looking at Fukunage?
Conspiracies LOL. Who is lying, who is acting?
Aahaha, where is the trap in the trap.
@GB ya lying to win.
LOL that fellow has banged his head so many times!!!
Moment of truth.
The site was down for a few minutes. Stress! Tension! So much money on the line.
Nao raises her eyes… x3 times! LOL.
Kosaka’s glossy lips are so distracting.
I love how every time they say Nao is an idiot, they are going to get their comeuppance. Heheheh!
Akyiama by passed by Nao and Fukunaga.
AAAAoohhaaooOOO.
This episode has the camera shaking like earthquake effect when Kosaka lose the game.
This week not only is the lip gloss too much but Nao’s hair is not so nice.
Huh? Nao was the one who came up with the idea to trick Kosaka? …. surprised
@FF and @WE, I had problems connecting to this site last night just towards the end of the Rewatch. I can’t recall what I was trying to post but I know I liked this episode because it had the twist which got us going for a while.
From thinking Fukunaga’s never to be trusted… what a swine! …
To Kosaka is just like the rest who are so unpleasant when they think they are winning. …
To hah! They dare to shout that Nao is an idiot,… that’s always the sign they will go down or be confounded by her …
To how great it is that the ‘pupil’ has outshone the master. It’s really a big growth arc that Nao has decided to do the lying for the ‘good’ of others, and that she did it totally without consulting AS.
AS was a bit ticked off by this, but he conceded that she needed to be able to handle the dishonest world without him anyway.
Nao’s move reminds me of the attitude of those in authority who realise that they have to appear to be ‘mean/unfair/uncaring’ in order to save their charges. She has finally cottoned on to the fact that appealing to other’s sense of trust in her, or willingness to sacrifice themselves for others would be likely doomed to failure, and so Nao chose the surest, best way to ensure everyone got saved.
She had to lie and cheat her way into winning so that she could give everyone what they needed to exit the game without owing the Agency anything. I guess she never got much money but instead loads of trouble for her trouble, but she was always able to walk away with a lighter heart, the joy of knowing that others had benefited from her efforts and possibly with more friends by her side.
I recall how in Season 1, the last person I’d ever have expected to be beside her now and taking orders from her was the Mushroom Fukunaga, and look at them now. The most unlikely partnership became a reality because Nao remained true to her honest, caring nature, and won the trust of even the most cynical Fukunaga. I just loved that.
In effect she had to choose to become dishonest in order to serve her honest desire to help all. But I really applaud that the ‘idiot’ became the General who commanded Fukunaga and AS in this 4th Round of the Game.
@GB, the site doze off last night I couldn’t connect to the site too.
Initially I thought Fukunaga is the traitor as expected of him but it turned out that he is working with Nao behind the scenes to trick the Moon Kingdom into losing to the Sun Kingdom so that all players can be saved from the Agency. That’s why he does the fancy dance moves behind Akiyama when Akiyama is watching Nao with a deep frown.
I Fukunaga funny with his over the top reactions and it’s a good balance to the frowning Akiyama and always acting cute Nao.
This episode surprises me with the plot twist when Nao is the mastermind behind the lying strategy, plotted it with Fukunaga without Akiyama’s knowledge. While watching the episode I was expecting Akiyama to be the one saves the Sun Kingdom as he always did but dah it is Nao who saved everyone this time.
It is a touching moment when Akiyama accepted that Nao has to learn to survive on her own someday, it seems he is ready to let her go and not be brought into the Liar again out of his concern for Nao. Though he claims that he is in the game to find the real master of the agency but I think Nao’s involvement is part of his reason for taking part in the game.
@FF, Yes, I’ve always had the idea that the Agency deliberately found Nao who is like AS’s mother in how naive she is, and tricked her into the LG in order to lure AS into the game as well. I feel that there was a hidden conspiracy to get AS (and likely also the next villain, Katsuragi Ryo) to be opponents so as to have an exciting showdown.
The origins and motives of the Agency have always been hidden. It’s the continuing mystery.
I believe that for all the Rounds, AS did come in partially to help Nao. His intention in the beginning was to get her out of the game entirely. However she was repeatedly tricked into continuing the game to help him.
In the process, he found that the Agency was making use of people’s greed to trick them into owing money that they could never repay. So he had another purpose in playing the LG. He wanted to find out who the Agency was and to bring it down.
By this 4th Round, we see that AS has accepted that Nao will just be there as always, and also that she will still want to save everyone. At the end he also accepts that they will both enter the Semi-finals. He no longer tells her to stop playing the game. So their dynamics have changed. He trusts her more now to take care of herself as well. It’s nice to see a bit of growth in their friendship.
I find that I really cannot remember much of the next Round. I will have to rewatch before the rewatch!!! LOL. See you!
@GB, I hope the site functions properly for our next re-watch. See you then.
