Hmmm…. @salteddust, I don’t think we have ever interacted on a thread before.

@GB, how I envy you! You’ll have the opportunity to silence the noises, be still, and draw nearer to God in a spiritual retreat! I’ll pray for you this weekend — and always — that the sunrise will bring you wisdom, and the sunset will bring you peace.

Enjoy the rewatch.

  1. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    Thanks heaps @pkml3!!

    Dear Rewatch Party Friends,
Ep 7 is a blast. Who else besides me could not bear to wait until this week to watch Ep 7 after Ep 6? 😂

Have a great rewatch and post your thoughts.

I’ll come back on Monday or so to read you all! May the party and good times begin and continue in a little less than 24 hours from now!

  2. @GB, I’m glad to see you looks better!

I don’t have a lot of time to watch dramas but I’m ofc here tomorrow. Clock set!
I did a break during 3 months, watching as many dramas I could, but now fully back in writing. With the most awesome DA-shit ever made in a kdrama!!!

  3. I will be there. I will set two alarms.

  4. Hello. I am here and ready to start in a few minutes.

  5. Hi SD.

  6. I am here.

The accepted rule of time travel is that the same character cannot meet himself in another time line or everything will explode. I did watch ahead so I don’t want to say anything more.

  7. Hi MM.
9 can manage that, thanks to the delai for the memories recovering. At least, he can merge only when back in present time.

  8. Hey, it’s time. GOOOOOOOO!!!

  9. Hi @MM, Hi @WE. @MM I think the time travel ‘rule’ goes back to a previous era when the idea of a mulitverse had not taken hold as a possibility. Though I might be wrong about that. I have not read much Sci Fi literature for a long time.

  10. The nurse leaves. What make the dad will be alone in the building, ready for his death soon.

  11. Here he meets himself. What nice, young actor is the lead of Dr Slump people will watch here soon. 😉

  12. Hello everyone.

  13. Hi all, @gb will miss your insights today. Wishing you a growth in faith weekend.
I accidentally watched some of ep 9 and am not sure which actions belong in 8 or 9 so will be more of a lurker today.

  14. HI @FF!

  15. Very well done to have her banging on the door to her uncle’s room while he is in The room but in another dimension.

  16. Nosy Min Young ties to enter Sun Woo’s room when he started to time travel.

  17. He spoils his own life to himself, lol.
Really the next level of spoiler. ^^

  18. Hi FF and LL.

Damn, his plan fails because himself. lol.

  19. @SD I do not know as much as I would like to know aboutime travel in It’s permutations in literature and film. Perhaps son who knew more. I thought he was being pretty daring to wake himself up. If it were me I would not have been smiling so easily.

  20. I’m not sure, but during this fight, and object involontary slipped into a piece of furniture.
    Set-uuuuup!

  21. Young Sun Woo trusted his future self and do what future Sun Woo ask him to do.

  22. Also I would never remember such detail from my youth. As a phone call conversation for example. Although I guess these were pretty high stakes moments.

  23. Super spy cams from 2012.
Just buy it at any discount shop.
    No need to be James Bond;

  24. @MM the fall could have been a major problem. What if his younger self had died at the hands of his older self! I think that was one of the problems in the pre-multiverse view of time travel. Because you then get in this weird logical loop. Also new major injuries. I am not sure any new ones happen in this drama. But would the older self get a new scar?

  25. He could have killed himself!

  26. I have to say, having learned to drive a stick after learning a manual, I enjoyed the little scene in the car. SJJ is very good at interjecting a little humor even in a high stakes scene like this.

  27. Sun Woo thought he could just change history simply by travelling back in time and making minor tweaks. However, the minor tweaks change subsequent events that he did not foresee.

  28. He delivers mind blowing explanations on the phone.
I like so much this brainy stuff in SJJ dramas.

  29. As in the queen and I, A car features as a denoter of a different time zone

  30. I really like the slow motion drive by where he sees his father. The cinematographer gets both the plot device (seeing the father) and this sense of being in two different times (with the window passing slowly by). Excellent!

  31. @MM. Sun Woo must have an elephant’s memory.

  32. Ok I get it.
Same events happen in the past but one day later.
    Father death, father, etc.

  33. SW’s father still died in a fire but one day later than the original date.

  34. Sorry, mixed up ep numbers earlier. Persistent personality leads Min Young to calling locksmith and having SW’s room broken into! A rare bit of humor occurs in this tense drama when locksmith replies, “they are all uncles” after she tries to explain her reason for calling him. 😂

  35. Things will go bad with the (guilty) brother.

  36. @LL, the locksmith is sure efficient to arrive and finish his work within half an hour.

  37. The villain is maybe the villain, but at least, he didn’t kill someone. (or indirectly because medecine malpractice)

  38. Smart hero thinking at high speed via a series of flashbacks.
    Yooooooooooo.

  39. The brother seems rattled by Sun Woo’s questions. What did he do when he visited his father?

  40. @FF Ha ha. I agree, I have never gotten that quick a response ever.

I just realized that not only do SW’s memories only return once he is back in the present, but the changes only occur once he is back in the present. Witness the countdown of his watch and the change on the computer screen of his friend’s. Also, how does he get back into his own room. I thought he would return to the same place in the present world (which would potentially be awkward, I admit — inside a wall or something if there was a new building). But he leaves from the office in the hospital and returns to his own room.

  41. @FF About his good memory That would be in keeping with the skills he needs as a journalist and anchor.

  42. Gosh, this guy is able to say in the same sentence a compliment and a downgrading to his ex-girlfriend.

  43. @SD Yes I really appreciated that scene.- The slow motion drive.

  44. Ah he did get a scar! I did not notice that before. Makes sense, it was a pretty hard bump on the head.

  45. @WE I think I really only got the detail of this episode this time around. So clever

  46. @MM, Sun Woo remembers even trivia details.

  47. @SD, I was just wondering how did Sun Woo travel back to the specific time and place of his choice? Did I miss something?

  48. Argument scene with the father. So intransigeant one.
This actor is gold. I can trust his harshness.

  49. I think he always returns to where he left in the present day.unlike qihm

  50. @WE, male leads of SJJ dramas are quick witted, smart and corky.

  51. Running after the brother wasn’t the good thing to do now. He forgot about the fire.

  52. I’ve to go, have a good week all. Kiss.

  53. I think he travels back to exactly twenty years ago to the minute.

Well done build up to a future scene- The phone call to his brother.

I have seen the actor who plays the father in so many dramas. Was he the father of the male lead in crash Landing on you? He was pretty intransigent there too

  54. What an unexpected scene for Sun Woo, his brother was the one who hurt his father.

  55. @MM. Watch him in Empress Ki. His best role.
The villain nobody can say “no” to an order.

  56. Bye @WE.

  57. Sun Woo forgot about his time limit and wasted it by chasing after his brother.

  58. @MM, yes it is the same actor as in CLOY. Bye @WE.

  59. @MM, yes he acted as Ryu Jeong Hyuk’s father in CLOY.

  60. We have reached the end of the episode again. See you all next week.

  61. With the heavy use of the double screen (or multiple in this case as the chase ensues), I had to see if the director was the same as QIHM @WE you probably knew this already, but I had not checked before. It is! These multiple screens are very good for travel (eliminate the boring parts) and for this chase scene. Withe help of the music they perfectly capture the chaos of a chase while allowing us to follow it to its conclusion.

    See you all next week.

  62. It is interesting to think about the similarities and differences between the incense sticks in this show and the talisman in Qihm.

In this show the male lead always returns to where the incense stick is burning And he knows there are a limited number of times he can time travel. In Qihm, We only find out the limitations on the time travel in the course of the show. He time travels to a geographic place rather than a Predetermined time.

  63. Thank you everyone. I really enjoyed this rewatch and discussion. I think this is my third rewatch of this show And I still get so much out of it.

  64. @SD, yes, the director is Kim Byung Soo.
By the way, I didn’t mention it, but we could see some split screens in the episode.
With ability, the director change the color filter for scenes in the past and add a kind of slow blur. A guy who is inventive.
In total, he did 3 SJJ dramas, with “The tree musketers”.
