Aha! They kissed already?
Huh? Why is this gif bigger than the others?! Oh well.
source: geellaz’ tumblr
Let’s enjoy the show!
Thanks @pkml3! Yes, they kissed in Ep 10, so that’s why I’m hoping that JH gets more motivated to be like JW in changing the trajectory of his life, to stop thinking only of her happiness and consider his own. He needs to be more ebullient and positive about himself.
So far no one has thought of looking for another way to satisfy the dictates of ‘fate’. Perhaps there’s a better alternative to survival than passing on death to another person!
Kalimera @Packmule3!
Yes, we are waiting to see what it will happen tonight with the Wedding… 😛
@pkml3 @Cleo, a great Episode 11.
I’m actually starting to feel sorry for thieving Soo Min. She’s going to have a hard time when the ‘pregnancy’ disappears. I liked that instead of money, JW handed Min Hwan a letter of complaint and possibly a threat to get her money back.
Revenge of sorts coming from different, unexpected characters.
We see the continuation of the connected side story about Manager Kang and her strange connection to HR Manager Lee.
As mentioned by @pkml3 and hoped for by myself, JH is starting to live for himself. His grandfather never even noticed the difference.
Just as JW gets rid of her ‘trash’ someone else pops up to fill the void!
Although, Episode 11 was awesome and I really really enjoyed it.
I didn’t like the ending… Obviously! The ex – fiance is here and she is pure evil.
I am glad that Ji Hyuk is finally living, but now it is time to protect, not only Jiwon, but also himself from that girl.
Also, it is not Kang Jiwon’s mistake that Jang got the cancer instead. As it seems karmic balance is not going as we like. It has its own way doing things…
Still, now that the evil ex fiance is here. Kang Jiwon needs to deal not only with her, but also with the fact she will feel guilty that Jang got her stomach cancer.
Jiwon needs to embrace herself and her second chance in life. She needs to fight to be happy and not give up on Ji Hyuk. She has to truly trust him, in order to overcome this crisis.
This is another test for our main couple. Although, I don’t like this arc, I do hope they will not drag it, until the last episode.
One problem solved, another two appeared on the current Timeline… 🙄😢😵
Hi @Cleo, it’s good dramatically that after a problem is solved, more problems crop up, so we can have another 8 episodes to enjoy! LOL.
Let’s see how our smart leads manage with new stuff that ‘fate’ and 2nd chances throw at them. (I was just commenting about Amidst a Snowstorm of Love in the WAWW thread and this is one sentence I will never be able to say about AASOL, so I’m glad to be able to say it about MMH) 🤭😝😋😙😍😇😉😂
I’m loving it.
Notes.
1) JH died on 19/04/2023 in previous timeline. It’s in a close up at 1.01 timestamp. His doorlock is 19/04/2013 (mentioned twice) presumably because that’s when he was “reborn” into current timeline.
Presently, it is 02/09/2013 (wedding date of the baddies). I know they’ve mentioned all this before. But as we know, if they keep showing something again and again, it could be connected (unless the drama is My Demon).
Any thoughts on how ?
2) JH continuously thinks of his death. Much more so than JW. And he’s very consistent in imagining himself with her, listening to her desires of stability in his head followed by his accident. Usually I get very irritated when adult leads break away mid-kiss without reason but here, it was a beautiful transition.
We were practically JH’s brain… Slow music, love, more love, ji won, ji won, ji won, boat, stability, happiness, BAM – I can’t die on her. Push her away.
3) It’s small but I loved the neglected lights and candles of the Christmas decor. They were left on since 24 hours. The candles were shown to be deeply burning – not sure if that’s the right way to explain it. What I mean is they had burnt away through 24 hours by the time Ji Won opened the door. By extension, the lights were left on through the day much like the next morning. One can imagine JH pining away to Neverland and not having a care for all the candles and lights around him.
Unnie Kalimera,
We just have 6 more episodes to go. So, it would be wise to tone it down at Episode 14 and let us have 2 more episodes dramaless… We shall see!
A valid observation from the internet
We’ve seen JH collapse twice and he dies in a carsh. He needs a driver. He should stop driving with immediate effect.
@cleopatra I think there is too much story left for that. I read the webtoon after liking the series 🙈
@Arihsi kalimera!
Well, I think that Ji Huyk is under a lot of stress because he doesn’t know how to reverse his fate. It is not an easy thing to pass your fate to someone else!
@Packmule3 did a great analysis on her latest post about “Regrets”. So, this has made him kinda fragile and anxious about what it will happen in the future.
JH is also keeping everything inside and not talking about it. I mean Ji Won should realize at some point that he has died too and he is afraid that he will leave her alone.
When he talked in his sleep and said: “I don’t want to die!” This should trigger her to understand WHY he is acting like this.
Also, regarding Yura. I do hope that Ji Won will continue to fight along with Ji Hyuk and don’t try to break up with him. Although, she changed her fate, she needs to stand up and own her second life.
Unfortunately I have read some spoilers as well. I know that the e-novel is different from the Webtoon. We shall see what it will happen…
@cleopatra while of course fighting with JH will be ideal course for JW, I understand if she doesn’t. She’s been traumatized by matrimony in the worst way possible before. She was lied to and abused by a man for a long time. It’d be hard. Stay strong Ji Won, with or without JH !
P.S. By without I mean he’s still on earth but not with JW… 🙈 I do not wish him ill.
Ah. Welcome, uri truck-nim. Where would we be without you in dramaland?
Anyone can be the undoing of anyone with you,
No law of any country applies to you,
You are omnipresent on our screens,
Discussions and talking are so last century,
Now you are the dream of every writer-nim,
The ultimate solver of resentment,
You the ultimate promoter of love,
You – the harbinger of trust where the is none,
You through which all characters dream to die coz where is the love in staying alive ?
– by me.
@Arihsi,
Brava! I haven’t watched the Episode 12 yet, but I got spoiled by a post… O.o
I think we can do a varation with Simon and Garfunkel’s: The Sound of Silence.
The lyrics “Hello Darkness, my old friend” to—> “Hello, white truck of doom, I faint.” 😋
Correction: I haven’t watched Episode 12 yet*
Thank you thank you carissima @cleopatra… I think we saw the same spoiler. Did you see it on reddit?
I went straight to end of episode after it because really, it’s been a hard day and I can’t take much angst today.
The poem sprung to me as soon as I saw our white truck-nim. Such is his aura. To the drama’s credit, it was done in a relatively lesser cliche way. New level of traumatic unlocked for the unharmed lead, I’d say ! She SAW THE WHOLE THING. I mean mercy, per favore.
P.S. I hope he WROTE all these things he’s telling us in the preview somewhere. Ji Won is NOT watching this drama so she can’t hear him.
My worry is Ji Won will be alone for a while with all the baddies around. No one is in jail yet ! This has happened too soon ! Keep your head on your shoulders Ji Won !
Also, “hello white truck of doom, I faint!”
Ha ha ha ha ha…
My sweet @Arihsi,
Tonight’s episode is full of angst…
The ending sped some things up. I bet the Chairman will step in earlier than we thought…
Let us embrace ourselves with what it will happen tonight… 🙄😭
Just finished ep 12. Gahh! I know he’s not going to die but I hope they don’t drag out his recovery.
That said, I appreciate that the escalation of drama and angst is legit. Not inserted just for the sake of stretching a drama another couple or four episodes, but escalation that is justifiable and reasonable for the plot. It would be out of character if the bad guys just left the leads alone from here on out. At least that’s my opinion for what it’s worth LOL. Although I do have to shake my head at how many narcissist psychos exist around our leads
For once, the escalation isn’t stressing me but making me eager to see how our leads fight back. I was happy to see JW stand up to Yu-ra. Looking forward to Grandpa finding out Yu-ra’s true colors.
Really hoping that the cancer will serve as a wake-up call to Manager Yang and she drops her dead-beat husband like a hot potato.
@Stacy, @Cleo, @Arihsi
I was too tired to watch Ep 12 properly… fell asleep! Had to watch the beginning again. Thanks for your comments and notes. They make sense now.
@Arihsi, I enjoyed your cynical White TOD poem. TOD used to be more ubiquitous. I kind of missed it until today!
It’s likely Yura’s doing but interesting that JH knew something of what was going to happen. Instead of putting himself in harm’s way, he should have reported on it in advance or called in journalists or whatever to catch TOD in the act and pin down the culprit who hired it.
As mentioned, I wanted to see how JW (and JH) use their smarts to get out of the situations that nefarious individuals place them. I’m glad to see JW retort and walk out on her mother and on Yura. (That probably sealed her TOD fate.)
We see also that JH has called in help for Mgr Kang, so there is hope for her, unlike when JW was sick in the first timeline. I’m wondering what HR Manager Lee’s role is now with regards to Mgr Kang.
I like that JW is trying to figure out the logic of fate transference. Things were a little too simplistically understood if it was just a matter of marrying off Min Hwan to Soo Min. Now she has to deal with the twist that while things have changed so much with her taking on her 2nd chance at living, it follows that she won’t know how to predict her future anymore. She has to live like the rest of us, doing what we can and hoping for the best.
We find that JH really has started to live more in his 2nd life. His last act was still to protect JW, but it was a conscious decision. The way the crash took place, it looked like he might survive the TOD.
4 more episodes for JW to realise what she really wants and discover the logic of her 2nd life, while getting out of the sticky situations she finds herself in.
spoiler epispode 12
As exciting as the cliff hanger in episode 12 was I really thought the baddies were gearing up for something less crass.
I wonder if he will wake up having lived already in an alternative timeline. A thought I had but I doubt it. Will this somehow bring the rules of how to change her life into more focus? Or maybe he will have amnesia for his already relived second chance? Insert sarcastic smilie!
@ Arihsi I enjoyed your poem.
@GB I was worried that JW was gloating too much and perhaps interfering with her own plan by telling SM congratulqtions on picking up my garbage. Yes too simplistic to think the marriage would change everything. At least she did wonder about SM not being as passive as she was herself in the marriage. Good point about how the future is now unknown to her like it is for everyone.
Did JH know something or was he following her knowing how vicious his ex could be? Now they both have murderous exes!
I did get some vibes that the work colleaugue who seems interested in the woman who has cancer might be supernatural or a time traveller?
@GB I think JH says that he had been working for awhile to get the cancer specialist, obviously with JW in mind.
How long have the 2 of them been in this timeline?
The only I want to write down for tonight is that JiWon should not treat Ji Hyuk like this.
I get she has a trauma, but she was the one who told him they are in this together, when he was fighting with himself that he is not the right person for her.
He did not do anything bad. Instead, JH helped her time after time, without wanting anything back from her.
So for me, JiWon got a yellow card tonight. She hurt him again.
Listen to what the other person has to say first, then say to him I need some alone time to think about things. She ended it too soon.
She was in an abusive relationship before that is true, but Ji Hyuk is not Min Hwan. Especially, when JH is her Father’s gift to her…
Anyway, we got the white truck of doom and she needs to ask for JH’s forgiveness first.
The Baddies are making lots of damage at the moment…
So when she was saying she had hurt someone innoci , think she was referring to him.
@Monmor
Yes, she was referring to Ji Hyuk.
I feel Ep 12 took a sudden swerve and turned into Makjang territory – esp with the appearance of Yura (possessing all the stereotypical vilaineous traits + chaebol powers).
That she also has a sociopathic streak makes her possibly an even greater threat than Su-Min. The TOD’s swift appearance is surely testament to it
I actually ended up laughing about the truck of doom. It reminded me of other crazy truck of doom scenarios.I am not worried hewill die or be permanently injured. Off the top of my head, I can think of 2 other time travel.
Shows with the truck of doom. It is always so ridiculous. One was W And I think legally romance. In the latter,if I am remembering correctly, the male lead intervenes with his car in a similar way.
@Monmor,
Nothing of these will happen, if they follow the Web Novel, which they have up until now. From what I have read the Truck of Doom was to appear later on, but still the chakkanim brought it here. Most likely to use it as a vehicle for the plot to move forward.
Doom At Your Service had a TOD as well. In W, TOD was targeting the ML, but it didn’t happen at all.
Kalimera Everyone,
After watching Episode 12, and letting myself cooling down, I can say that all that happened in plotwise correct.
We have JiWon who believe that if Min Hwan married Su Min her fate will change. But as it seems the Karmic Balance doesn’t work this way. She had to see it for herself, that there are certain criteria to be met.
Manager Jang was also in an abusive relationship, where her husband is also a cheater. Director Lee knows the latter. Ji Won doesn’t know that yet.
Yura is not just crazy, she is nuts. She doesn’t want Ji Hyuk because she loves him, for her he is like an accessory. Now that he changed his stance, she came along to mess with him.
As I have written yesterday, I am disappointed with Ji Won for not listening first and then decide later. Hence, she got my yellow card and that won’t be erased. Ji Won hurt Ji Hyuk and needs to apologize and ask for his forgiveness.
I am glad that she indeed said so, when she went to visit her father’s grave. She realized that she is capable of hurting herself another person and I am not talking about Manager Jang here.
Was that necessary? If I was writing the show, I wouldn’t go that way. I would make JiWon listen first the other person what has to say and then JW would ask for some alone time to arrange her thoughts. The breakup was too much.
Since, the chakkanim chose this arc, that means Ji Won will realize that she might have changed but at the same time, she has issues to solve herself. Although, it was Ji Hyuk not sure about entering a relationship with her. She was the one who very easily abandoned him, without letting him explain.
Grandpa will definitely react after the U&K successor was hit by a TOD and we shall see how his wrath will be unleashed and to whom!
I forgot to mention that Ji Won got a wake up call, that although you might know the future, that doesn’t mean it will go as you planned. Life works in unknown ways.
She paired her adulterous husband with her shitty best friend, but still, she had to enter an unknown road in order to find her path.
She missed the fact, that Ji Hyuk was supposed to walk along with her.
Now, that she is totally alone and I mean without protection from him, she needs to fight back not only Min Hwan or Su Min but one person she doesn’t know at all, the unknown variable Yura the ex-fiance.
So, the lesson we are learning here is:
Just because you think you have dealt with the trash you already knew, that doesn’t mean now that you have upgraded your life, that happiness will come to you easily. No, Missy. You’ve got an upgrade and more trash will come for you to deal with it.
If you deal with them wisely then you will get the grand prize, which is that along the way you learn to be content with your life.
The thing is, can you handle also the fact that if you want to be happy, you have to take steps towards your happiness and not run away from it?
Here the poem that suits Ji Won best at the moment is C.P. Cavafy’s Ithaka
https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/51296/ithaka-56d22eef917ec
I commented earlier about JW Gloating too early In front of sumin About picking up her trash. I think this got caught in the spam filter.
She was undermining herself by Not considering , there was more to it than just the two of them getting married to change her fate. She was premature in her sense of success and now we see what Is happening.
Her problems with trust were well laid out in the montage Going back to her childhood. So being able to trust JH Will be part of her character Development. I hope she noted that he had been working behind the scenes to get a cancer specialist available. Now her work colleague will benefit from that.
The two of them will need to work together to get out of These threats.
I think my posts are still getting caught in The spam filter.
I will try again.
I think j w was undermining herself in gloating too early About her success in front of ms When she thanked her for picking up her trash. She did not understand that it would take more than the two of them just marrying. At least she did have the thought that ms Might not let them walk all over her the way she herself had.
From the montage of her childhood, We understand better her problems with this will be part of her character development. She will need to trust jh ifhe is going to be successful in changing her life. I think the vile x serves this purpose in this show.
We understand better her problems with trust.
Ohh @cleopatra… Wonderful to read your thoughts. I have certain points in Ji Won’s defence 🙈 bear with me for a moment please.
1) Knee-Jerk Reactions
What I have learnt from my interactions with adults is that everyone has certain triggers. I include myself as well in this list. Even after years of working on my reactions to situations, there are certain specific things that drive me bonkers. They elicit knee jerk reactions which can be out of proportion (within reasonable limits), emotional and illogical.
On all other occasions, I can access the rational side of my brain and reach appropriate conclusions, such as – let me hear out this person first. Let us reach a solution together.
This is Ji Won’s sore spot. She doesn’t want to be the “other woman” to anyone. She DOES eventually realise her mistake. She apologies to JH in solitude and calls herself a fool. But it is hard for her. This whole situation was a knee jerk reaction for Ji Won.
2) Plot Point – Sympathy for JH.
Like you said, the whole thing makes sense plot wise @cleo. Why? If they hadn’t built this whole tension up by making Ji Won act in this “unfair” way, Ji Hyuk’s sacrifice wouldn’t have set the audiences’ heart on fire. 100% of the audiences are moved by his act, whether on Ji Won’s side or not. It is famously said that Jack had to die for Titanic to become a blockbuster.
Contd…
3) Passing of regrets
Just like fate, regrets seem to pass on too. Regrets of inaction, regrets of incorrect actions. In previous timeline, JH suffered under a lifetime of regret after loosing JiWon. He didn’t want his fate of the accident to get transferred to Ji Won and regret again.
BUT, but, but. In doing so, he turned the wheels of fortune through his actions in way where instead of his fate, his regrets got transferred to her through HER incorrect actions.
PMY doesn’t play morally questionable characters. She ALREADY regrets her decision and asks at her father’s grave in addition to admitting she hurt JH, “what do I do now?” Presumably in context of what do I do to correct this now ? She is going to be shown to bitterly regret her actions.
4) Transfer of the actual fate
In kdramas, lead characters are shown as taking morally impeccable more often than not. As @pm3 notes, JH is morally impeccable. He can’t zero in on anyone in good conscience to suffer his fate. Even Ji Won is devastated that her friend of second timeline has her disease.
In the original story, character X (no spoilers hee hee) suffers JH’s fate but the leads of the webtoon are not always morally upright. JH is in accident but is saved and character X dies BEFORE his accident.
Here, as JH lies injured, character X can comfortably take his position while doing vile deeds, thereby keeping JH’s hands clean.
They have already made certain changes like suicide to accident to keep JH character morally perfect.
Would love to know your thoughts @cleo, @GB and others.
Fin.
Kalimera @Arihsi,
My thoughts?
Well, I know that people are getting triggered by some things. Everyone does, including myself. The way you are dealing with it, shows if you have managed to heal or not.
Yes, I understand that just because her mother run away with a lover, Ji Won doesn’t want to be the “other woman”. In this case though, she made an ASSUMPTION that she is the “other woman” and run away first, and then she heard what Ji Hyuk had to say. Hence, my yellow card.
If I was writing the story myself, as I have said above, Ji Won would first listen to Ji Hyuk had to say and then take some alone time to think things over. She could keep her distance from him in order to come with a plan how to deal with the ex-fiance.
At the same time, for me it is poor writing If I feel that Ji Hyuk’s sacrifice is a tear jerker. No, we need to realize that Ji Hyuk is not a two dimensional character that has no thoughts, feelings and regrets.
Ji Hyuk started to become a “real” person, technically I am talking here since the story was focused on JW, the moment he let himself just be, when Ji Won told him “let us regret things together”.
So, in this story we have two people who are hurt for different reasons. Yes, Ji Won’s story is more profound because she is being killed in 1.0 Timeline, whereas Ji Hyuk is born with a golden spoon in his mouth.
As we get to know him though, JH is a person who is not letting anyone know his true thoughts. He suppress his feelings and tries to be “the good and obedient boy” his Haraboji wanted him to be, hiding that he is a hurt individual living a robotic life.
So, Ji Hyuk’s sacrifice has nothing to do with what Ji Won did to him. The tension built by the chakkanim *For Me* is not making my heart on fire.
Since I am writing myself and I know the techninal aspect of building characters and making stories come to life, I have to say that:
It is on Ji Hyuk’s character setting: to be a walking green flag and to love Ji Won unconditionally showing his support and help towards her goal. His sacrifice is on his Modus Operandi. It would happen anytime, regardless of what was happening to the story.
I agree with what you said about JH’s action to save Ji Won, aka his fate of dying in a car accident in 1.0 Timeline, will be changed in 2.0 Timeline. The Carmic Balance works in mysterious ways…
As I have written above, Ji Won had to realize that she is capable not only taking revenge on the people who wronged her, but also she is capable of hurting people who like / love her and deal with the aftermath as well.
And that is something that makes us better versions of ourselves. Learning how to overcome difficulties and dealing with Life. Some days will be easier than others, some days won’t, as long as we have people with us / around us.
This is the reason I love BoD and it’s members @cleo… It gives us a platform to discuss and respectfully disagree with eachother on trivial matters such as television. Where else do you find this in life ?
For example. I 100% agree with what you say about being a better version of ourselves with experience and ji won being capable of hurting others.
But, Ji Won being inconsiderate (that office scene broke my heart) ALTHOUGH I’m on her side followed by JH jumping in front of death (it almost amounts to suicide. No way he thought he’d survive. He went in there to die) did set my heart on fire. Especially because he says nothing. Nothing at all. He apologizes, tries to explain but then let’s her go respectfully and steps away. No clinging, no groveling. Zero grand declarations ever. He’s all action and no words. *cries silent tears a la Ji Hyuk*
Hey my dear @Arihsi!
That’s the way I love B.o.D and its members too! You are talking with a Greek how much they like to participate in a good conversation. I crave for such things.
Ji Hyuk’s actions throughout the show speak VOLUMES. He silently loves her, cherish her, protects her and helps her. Him going to stop the TOD is another way to show Ji Won that his feelings are indeed true. When he heard Yura talking about “I don’t like people messing with what is mine” JiHyuk knew that Yura will hurt Ji Won.
So, his actions speak volumes and the fact he did that changed his Destiny. It kinda reminded me the way Ji Eun Tak acted on Goblin.
@Cleo, ah yes, Eun Tak sacrificed herself to protect little children. How my heart dropped like the glass or bottle of wine that Goblin had. It was so sad, and yet, so right.
Yes, JH’s destiny and probably because they are connected, JW’s destiny too, will be changed.
Unnie,
It was so heartbreaking as a scene. If you remember the Reaper was there who knew her for who she really was for the past 20 years. Eun Tak, a person with integrity living a good life, being a good person. Her sacrifice felt right, but it was so sad to watch it.
Yes, @Arihsi and I have the same idea about it too!
Great point about Goblin and the Selfless Sacrifice before a busload of kids. Why did that trope work? It produces such classic pathos because it was so inevitable.
I love her interior monologue about how an act of sacrifice is something outside the calculations of even the cosmic powers like Grim Reapers
Now let’s think about JY and ToD – what worked and what didn’t.
Actually this ruse worked on a cerebral level for me, just not emotional (the way Goblin did). It worked because of how calculated it is.
JY must have worked out that a murder is coming — and the likeliest quarter will be from Yura’s camp hence he rushes in to take one for the team (in the next episode, it looks like she will subcontract the killing to Su-Min & Co)
The stomach cancer being deflected to Yang is writing on the wall, together with the entire bundle deal of cheating deadbeat hubby and known acquaintance. It is simply a function of destiny.
As famously defined in “It’s Okay to Not be Okay” – destiny is simply the fulfilment of narrative purpose. Therefore whoever shows up at the right time is destiny.
It is her “destiny” to get stomach cancer /cheating husband due to a confluence of factors: her pushover personality to endure unfair treatment and stress (like JW 1.0); she has a deadbeat husband not pulling his weight as house hubby hence adding to her stress of having to double up and do his share (again, like JW 1.0); when deadbeat hubby goes to parent’s restaurant to work he hooks up with co-worker/kitchen staff (again, office romance like Min-Hwan and Su-Min). all the archetypes and set pieces are in place for it to happen.
Great points yourself @empress new clothes!!
Thanks for elucidating the similarities between JW and Mgr Kang and how the karma or fate, or the ‘drama kind of destiny’ works.
I hope that the plothole of how JH happened to be there at the right time anticipating a TOD is explained.
So fun when everyone weighs in !
@GB I’m sure it’s explained based on the preview.
My first guess is, the preview is actually the past of the accident. Yura enlisted original baddies to kill Ji Won in the past of the accident. The black car following JW has to be MW if that’s the case. They FAIL their assignment because JH takes the truck (and the fall). Hence it looks like MW is being arrested.
Second guess, JH comes to know of the plan to murder Ji won (we’ll be shown how). He doesn’t have time to inform any authority and he knows Yura has done it in the past and will see the matter to its end. He knows his fate already… which probably prompts him to put himself in harm’s way. He dons the coat and records his last words to Ji Won (hopefully).
Third guess, he gives up on the stretcher. He’s already sinking which is why the medics are running fast. My guess would be he flatlines when ji won covers her mouth in the final seconds of the preview.
I think I’d award myself one point for each correct guess. I’d self evaluate (along with my year end promotion evaluation ha ha) on Monday.
@Arihsi, I like how you think 🙂 I was also thinking that the next ep will back the story up a bit and show the events leading up to the accident. JH somehow has to know what’s going on in order to be able to save JW. It wasn’t him following her from the cemetery because those were two different vehicles.
@monmor, I found two of your comments in the trash and retrieved them. Sorry about that.
One of two. –pm3
Thank you @stacy ❤️ if you look at the pre-release clip, we’re correct about guess 2 and by extension, probably guess 1.
I’m not sure about my guess 3 anymore based on TvN’s own description of ep 13… Hee hee.
Kalimera Everyone!
When I was watching Episode 13’s preview I had TKEM vibes all over the place. Those who have watched Episode 11 know exactly what I mean. In Episode 12 we got to see how Lee Gon managed to be on time with the Royal Cavalry.
Back to MMH, I agree with everyone who said above that we will get to see a flashback until Ji Hyuk came to save Ji Won.
Here it is what we get to see. It is a pre-release bring along your tissues!
BTW, Na In Woo you are a perfect Ji Hyuk, those who say otherwise are blind! <3

@Empress New Clothes,
I second @GB Unnie! Bravo!
@Arihsi and @Stacy,
No, the car who followed JiWon from the cemetary had one or more of Yura’s cronies that called the driver of TOD to start his engine and do the deed.
Yes exactly @cleo. Both I and @stacy “guess” that it is Yura’s people. Most likely a single person, Min Wahn. Ji Hyuk doesn’t have stalker tendencies at all.
I think JH comes from his home/office etc to the location. Not following her to the cemetery.
Alsooooo, as many have noticed, the truck is a similar one to original TOD of 2023 which killed JH.
Image montage below – so much dramatic effect is added since he’s shown to bleed gradually – eventually soaking everything in sight instead of all together in one shot. It’s almost as if the audience is Ji Won’s eyes as she discovers the extent of injury.
https://twitter.com/always9Woo/status/1755414090892058786
The truck driver is already revealed. I think it’s Su Min’s dad aka JW mother’s affair. So horrible.
https://twitter.com/dalgangie/status/1755405402966221154
@Arihsi,
You do know WHO was behind the hit in the Web Novel. I think the Webtoon had another course of action… o.O
Still, now I see that the truck driver is Su Min’s father, then that means that Su Min is behind the hit. Even though she learned about it from Min Hwan, because in the preview we get to see the money. They were first offered to Min Hwan and then we get to see a bag of money that were offered to Su Min’s father, while Ji Won’s mother was there as well…
I mean seriously? WHO in their right mind would agree to kill their child?
Ji Hyuk is utilizing his power as a U&K chaebol. He is using people to learn information that he wishes for, as his Haraboji does on him.
So, he knew that Yura was planning a hit and he most likely learned about the information and went himself to save Ji Won. Afterall, as you wrote, the TOD was involved in his car accident in 1.0 Timeline!
Wow @Cleo! That was an intense pre-release scene by NIW. I was quite moved by his performance!
Unnie,
He is swoonworthy! LMAO! 💖💥💫
Especially, when he said:
“I like you. I like you. I truly like you very much.”
Woah @Arihsi! So much makjang info and a twist of sorts. Soo Min’s dad the TOD driver was the one JW’s mother had an affair with! So Soo Min was so full of ‘your mum took my dad away, so I’m going to take everything of yours away’? I find it hard to believe that no one knew who Soo Min was or that everyone could keep it a secret from JW.
I Know Right @Cleo! So swoonworthy… so much to squee about if only he was not on his way to be hit by a TOD. 😢 😭 🤪
Unnie,
Monday’s episode will be the death of us! LOL
As for what @Arihsi wrote, yes, Su Min’s dad run away with Ji Won’s mother. She is not doing it because “her mom took her father away”. Her reasoning is another, based on the spoilers I have read on MDL.
Still, Ji Won didn’t know up until now, who she really was.
Thanks @Cleo for the clarification. Yes, on Monday/Tuesday… we’ll watch and die more or less together LOLOL. 🫤 😬 🫨 😑 😵💫 🤫
@cleo !!! That’s news to me ! Really??? I thought in original webtoon su min had that reason for revenge? Aka JW’s mom running away with her dad ? But here mom is as bad or worst than Su min given she’s the actual mother. *Major eye roll* as you said.
The drama is based on the webnovel which is much darker than the toon they say.
LMAO Unnie…
@Arihsi,
I have read that SuMin wanted to make her suffer, because her own mother didn’t treat her right, while Ji Won’s father was so good to her. So, SuMin wanted everything JiWon had, because she was jealous of her.
I mean if you look at it, both have lost one of their parents, why SuMin wanted JiWon to suffer? It was not their fault, they were just kids. I mean if any sin / mistake / etc is there, lies with their parents, not them.
FYI, In the beginning, I didn’t read quite right what they were saying on MDL, so I though that SuMin was Ji Won’s step-sister! Which she is in a way, but they are not blood related at all. LMAO!
As for Monday’s episode, 100% @cleo and @GB.
They have a huge responsibility of portraying Ji Won’s reaction on the aftermath of the accident. Especially when she hears the recording, which she no doubt will. I agree with both of you that it was delivered in a very moving and realistic way. No cringe at all… In fact, quite the opposite. Just genuine love and profound loss of a long standing dream.
I say, don’t you agree he was incredibly formal ? As if he’s talking to someone not close to him ? He addresses her as Ms. Kang Ji Won. 💔
As @cleo said, NIW is the perfect silent, broody, all action no words Ji Hyuk.
I’m excited to see how PMY matches this performance/development and responds especially to the “I like you” x3… Goodness. The most heartbreaking part.
@Arihsi,
THIS covers it all!
“Just genuine love and profound loss of a long standing dream.”
In his message, JH is formal with her, because she broke up with him. He tried to reach her, but she blocked him out.
I have found what -ssi means after a name.
Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-e5-3SYs4SA
and here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=maq1tHMm2_M
The first YouTuber says that it is Mr. or Mrs, but you use it to talk with respect to the other person. I have watched the second video and since we don’t know Hangul that well, when I am writing a comment on IG, I am using the -nim.
Thank you for the information @cleo… It’s always fascinating to learn about different cultures.
I am zero in Hangul. Apart from -ssi and -nim, when I hear suffixes -imida and -eyo a lot (like in this pre-release), I take it as a formal speech made to an individual who is unknown/higher in rank or age/commands respect.
@PM3 Thank you
About Ji Won blocking Ji Hyuk without an honest conversation (facepalm why God why)
… as you’re familiar with the webtoon/novel, you’ll know it’s her turn to be blocked. Majorly, totally, mercilessly blocked at that, at least in the short term.
Karmic balance as you say @cleo !
@Cleopatra For the longest time I could not figure out why male leads. Were calling there girlfriend’s miss. Now I realize it is a translation that is not taking Cultural context into account.
Speculative spoiler below
Perhaps jw’s mother is not her Biological mother. Yikes how did her father die? Did he also die in a car accident?
I didn’t read all the details @Arihsi, but if that happens then it will hurt a lot.
Well, karma is a bitch they say…LOL
As for Hangul, there are times, that I see some videos here and there, trying to understand. Let us be polite, since we don’t know much.
Hey @Monmor,
Ji Won’s father died of cancer. That’s why her mother in law was cussing her with Min Hwan in 1.0 Timeline.
Ji Won’s mother is indeed her mother, just left their family for another man, when Ji Won was young.
I don’t know anything else about her family’s dynamics!
@cleo !! How do we reach to Monday without you knowing? And without me announcing it to the whole BoD community, many of whom may not want spoilers?
A simple solution – please click on (only if you want of course, but I’d much appreciate 🙈) official TvN website below. It has a brief written description of ep 13. Your browser can auto translate into English.
https://tvn.cjenm.com/ko/Marrymyhusband/
@monmor, @GB, @stacy everyone is welcome 🙈
@Arihsi,
When the Haraboji will learn everything, those who did such a thing should be afraid. Just saying…
Gwenchana! Gwenchana! Ji Hyuk will be okay in the end!
Ah. Yes. I await their downfall of epic proportions.
Ep 13 might involve lots of tears, regrets and pining. But I am hoping for a wonderful ep 14 with warm reunions, apologies and forgiveness.
Afterall it’s on the Valentine’s night !
@Arihsi,
I am waiting for the same format as you.
Episode 13 will be full of angst and Episode 14, our OTP will reconsile.
Well, yes we have Valentine’s Day next week, both in Orthodox and Catholic Church!
On a completely unrelated note –
I’m at home, sick today. No office, no sleep, no hunger… Fever, cold, cough et al. But I am feeling so warm with company of BoD people all around the world.
One of the many times I want to thank @pm3 for building this community and more so protecting it fiercely k-drama style… so that it remains pleasant, humane and respectful at all times. Thank you @pm3 !
BoD is pretty much they ONLY place I don’t feel afraid to read the comments section. And still the only place I interact with people online. ❤️
@Arihsi,
I do hope you will be feeling better. Sending Hugs and Kisses!I am glad that I was able to talk to you in real time.
It is fun, isn’t it? When we started the ReWatch Parties back in 2021 it was so fun. These days it is not that easy for me to enter the gang but still.
I totally feel you about what you have written about BoD. I feel the same ! ❤
Ohh I’m so sorry to know you felt that way at the time @cleo. ❤️ I’m so glad you are here ! I’m rarely a part of re-watch parties at BoD. I can only keep up with one drama at a time too ! I was MIA for many many months before the horrendous My Demon came along! But am I glad to be back or what !
@Arihsi
To click or not to click🫣🤔🤪😵💫
I am okay @Arihsi,
I just cannot be online for the Rewatch Parties. I am here when a show interests me.
It is the first show that a lot of us are commenting at the same time. The past year, most of the time, everyone was watching something else…LOL
BTW, I hadn’t planned to start watching “Marry My Husband” you see, but I saw NIW and I stayed…LMAO!
@Monmor click click!! Hee hee… I’m tempting you !
The webnovel was pretty famous so a lot of regular k-drama YouTubers have dug into it to understand the most likely path the drama will take, in case you are interested. They are following the novel fairly tightly as per my understanding apart from the chronology of the events, how much the characters know about eachother and other medium sized details. But on a very broad spectrum, they are following the novel (not the webtoon).
Based on that, Su min should really stop messing with Ji Won. If she has abetted the crime to harm JH (which she has), Ji Won is coming after her with much worst than a TOD !
Another speculative spoiler That just came to my mind as I am k popdancing.
Another version of the male lead enters the body that died in this most recent car crash. Not sure what form that would take but it sure would be fun. Could be a total game changer.
My dearest @Monmor… This theory very different from the novel 🙈 The novel is more about revenge. I don’t think they can bring any more supernatural events beyond time travel.
@cleo, I know right! Such fun when we enjoy together! I entered MMH at ep 10 ! Most of the drama had already aired when I joined in ! I stayed for both NIW and PMY. The silently smoldering NIW was too squeal worthy after overly showy My Demon! I like PMY here too !

@pkml3, after watching up to Ep 18 of Amidst a Snowstorm of Love, and finding our comments on this Show scattered on the WAWW thread, I’ve decided to ask if we could have an Open Thread.
🍎🍐🍊🍋🍏🍉🍌🍇🍓🫐🍈🍒🍑🥝🥭
At first I thought it was going to be just a quick breeze through with the same dating going on from Ep 1 to 30, but unlike Love Me, Love My Voice, there are some shifts and a bit more challenge to the romance, which is making this more interesting than expected, so this Show may merit a thread of its own.
I like that the male lead is not just good and gets everything right from beginning to end (sorry to Tan Jian Ci’s character, Mo Qing Cheng who became boring as a result), but is impulsive and flawed and growing as a character. The female lead is also not as colourless as feared.
The romance has room to grow, so there is something to look forward to.
Perhaps one day you’ll join us to watch this romance. 🙂
After the binge eating, I’m in the mood for fruits!
🍎🍐🍊🍋🍏🍉🍌🍇🍓🫐🍈🍒🍑🥝🥭
Ok. Let me do it now before I turn in.
Much thanks @pkml3!! Hugs and kisses 🤗😘 Muah!🤗😘 Muah! 😃
You’re welcome, @GB.
And thank you, too. I needed an excuse to leave the rec room where the family is watching Super Bowl. I’m being a bad hostess but I can only take so much testosterone. 🙂
So very true @Arihsi! *grins*!
Yes, PMY is pretty good here!
Prime Video shut me out of Marry My Husband when I was traveling internationally, so couldn’t keep up with episodes for a few weeks. Once home, I binged through episodes without stopping to read threads on this blog or leave comments. I’m trying to catch up now, but am out of sync, since I don’t have to anticipate and guess what happens next.
Seeing Ji Won be smug at the wedding of Soo Min to Min Hwan (should we call this couple Evil MinMin?), I feared she would jinx herself. Even though this drama is in the revenge genre, I would rather it be a second chances drama. I don’t want to see Ji Won stoop to the level of those who tormented her in her past and present life. Her snarky “Thanks for picking up my trash!” comment to Soo Min almost crossed a line for me, not because it was hurtful to Soo Min, but because it indulged a base emotion: pleasure in Soo Min’s discomfort. In Ji Won’s defense, she did use her words to highlight Soo Min’s active role in the affair. Soo Min was an agent of her destiny, it wasn’t thrust on her.
We see that the villains act to achieve their nefarious goals, aware their behavior would hurt Ji Won. For Min Hwan, who is greedy, Ji Won being hurt is an unfortunate byproduct of his seeking pleasure; since middle school, Soo Min has made it the focus of her life to inflict pain on Ji Won and negate her, so hurting Ji Won is the point of her actions. In the fashion of truly unrepentant villains, both Min Hwan and Soo Min blame Ji Won for the logical and just consequences of their actions. They hold themselves blameless, and feel persecuted, which fuels their own desire for misguided revenge.
@ WELMARIS
Like you I was worried JW was working against herself by Openly gloating to her evil not-friend. She needs to continue thinking rationally and not indulge herself in momentary emotions If she is going to be successful.
What did you think of the last scene in episode fourteen? In an earlier post, I wondered if she was expressing her sense of angry helplessness and a momentary feeling of giving up.
Notes on re-watch
@cleo ! I missed the dialogue where it is revealed that JH was in an engagement with Yu-Ra for FIVE years before he broke it upon entering timeline 2.0 (very initial ep) ! what ! He should have asap informed Ji Won… Five years is a loooong time.
I’m glad it was like this. It makes JiWon being upset more understandable. She did come around towards end of ep 12. It was never a long type of breakup anyway as she was warm towards HY and heard her / understood her own mistake.
Ohhhh… It’s such a nicely and coherently told story, no matter the troupes. I’m enjoying it again !
Re-watch notes #2
Ji Won’s reaction of breakup (although rash and not thought through) indicates a very fundamental difference between her and Su Min. Su min will do anything for money. Ji won won’t. She’ll leave JH if she feels he’s cheated (actually this was referred to in Ep 5 also). She isn’t with Ji Hyuk for his money. Su min would have feigned ignorance and continued with him in spite of cheating just for money.
Then, after the accident, she comes to know that Ji Hyuk has transferred most of his wealth to her unbeknownst to her. Whether he lives or not makes no difference. She could have run away with it. This would have been most likely the reaction of Yu Ra. She doesn’t care of Ji Hyuk is alive. But for Ji Won, his wellbeing and his staying alive is the only thing that matters.
“I gave him hell for that tranfer”, she later tells the grandfather reassuring him that it will never happen again.
Ji Won holds on to being good. ❤️
