Hi @pkml3. Thanks! The time is right for London, Paris and Athens. The DST does not seem to be counted when I Googled the relevant times for PST and EST, but I believe you are correct.

I’m all set for another rewatch!

  2. Hi @pkml3 and @GB. The times for the US would be 10 am EDT and 7 am PDT. DST hit last Sunday.

@GB. I will have to miss this week as I have a morning get together on Saturday. I will do a rewatch on my own and read comments during/after.

  3. My calculations also make it ten a m here on the east coast. And I remember it being ten a m before.

  4. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Gosh, hope we meet up at the right time! 4 hours to go!!!

Google did say 10am EST and 7am PST but I was not sure if that included DST.

I believe @pkml3 you may need to revise the times for EST and PST!

Hi Folks! I’m lurking nearby! Every now and then this Show serves up some great plot twists.

  6. Hi @GB, I am here.

  7. @GB, Hi.
    Here too.

I’m saying now words of my drama bible:
There are never too much plot-twists. πŸ˜‡
    πŸ˜„

  8. @FF, hi.
    So, it’s started now?
    GO!

  9. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    Hi @FF and @WE, let’s start now!!!

  10. Hi @WE, yes we start.

  11. Hi all, It’s after 10AM here and viewing should have begun. I must be missing posts again😒

  12. Ah shit… It wasn’t her on the phone but the nurse.
Currently she’s dying of cold because he was a jerk letting her in the rain, a previous episode. ^^

  13. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, @FF, the plot twists are good in this Show! But I think I’m thinking of a later episode. I watched ahead. LOL

This Ep 14 was pretty frustrating for our hero and for us who are watching.

  14. @LL, Hi, no we just started now. πŸ˜‰

  15. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@LL Yes, we’re here and commenting!! Can you see emails or only posts?

  16. @GB, don’t tempt me to do a list of shows with the biggest plot-twists and the larger number of them. πŸ™‚

I rewatched up to ep15. So I’ll need to complete what’s next before our rewatch party.

  17. I started.
Watching early. I am about twelve minutes in. And I do have to admit.I watched this episode last week after our group watch.

  18. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, you’re speaking about plot twists throughout all the dramas you’ve watched? Did you take notes and list them and give them some ranking? LOL.

  19. The brothers did not consider Choi Jin Cheol in their plan. Wasted efforts on time traveling.

  20. More like seventeen minutes in. His walk of shame is about to begin.

  21. The villain is also the Judge in “I hear your voice”, and he’s also a disgusting guy in this drama too. ^^

  22. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @MM, I watched this episode before today too. Helps so that I don’ have to watch it avidly and can read comments.

Here’s pursed lips villain. I was thinking over and over what an over-acting actor he is. His facial expressions are somewhat over the top.

  23. Hi MM.
FF, yeah, he wasted a stick.
No luck for the brother, he has inherited a crappy life too in this new timeline. T T

I like so much the line:
“it’s useless to convince me now”, while he’s speaking about his past self.

  24. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE this villain actor plays all kinds of roles. But I only saw him as an okay character in maybe a couple of Shows. At least there he did not purse his lips so much.

  25. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Irritating doctor ex-boyfriend feeling sorry for himself. He’s quite unlikable too.

  26. @GB, alas no, I’m sure I missed to note good dramas about plot-twists. The most strong ones are: W (ofc), Empress Ki, 365 repeat the year, and ofc Penthouse. Then I need to think about my drama list. There are more, just I forgot a bit πŸ˜‰

  27. The nurse gives me weird feeling. Looks like a crazy one trying to looks an ok one.

  28. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, at least you watch like a normal viewer LOL. I can’t be recording every twist I like and still enjoy the show.

Bodyguard record cover pops up again.

Irritating female anchor comes to visit. Irritating doc ex-bf also came and went. He gets nasty. Later female anchor is also unpleasant. How things change in a split second.

  29. Yeah “boyfriend doctor”. I like asshole annoying characters, good at make your stress growing a bit, or just want to slap someone on the screen. πŸ™‚

  30. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE the nurse is okay. It’s Dr Kang who’s the problem. First rushes the wedding, then gets super jealous, and now again out to push the blame towards MY.

  31. I just looked at his Drama history. He has been in drama since the very early days, Since the nineteen eighties.

I just came across him in “my love eun dong”.

  32. “can we talk when I feel better?”
This asshole doesn’t care and continues to talk.
    ahahahah.

And now the maybe girlfriend “we are good partners, so let’s just have sex together”. πŸ™‚

  33. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, I can’t help thinking that if Kang had not insisted on rushing the wedding, he wouldn’t have been in this situation.

At least SW is honest enough to give anchor woman warning about himself.

  34. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@MM, yes he has a long list of shows under his belt. Lately only supporting roles. In angry or calm roles he acts better than here.

  35. Scandal in the hospital room.
    Now he punhces him. aahhaaaaaa.
    Great level of annoyance. ^^

  36. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Then we have the greedy wife of Young Hoon who wants to keep the wedding gifts.

  37. Interesting choice to skip a few days and then have the conversation between the Doctor friend and his wife to reveal the scandal That is playing out and the poor doctor friend who knows differently but can’t really say anything

  38. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE LOL YH is more loyal towards his friend SW than towards his wife. He never seems to care too much about his wife or kids.

  39. This reminds me.They use the same Arguing couple to illustrate a transition In a later scene.

  40. @GB, I like the boomerang theory, or karma. Do something wrong, and it will come back to destroy you, while in the maintime it created even more damages around.

The maybe girlfiend in the elevator…
It will be acid. Alien speaks! πŸ™‚

  41. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@MM When I watched ahead I found there’s really a lot of to-ing and fro-ing in the scenes. The past gets explained at a separate time from what we are given to watch.

So now anchor woman has turned cold. She thought SW was only playing hard to get but now she looks down on him.

  42. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@MM yes you’re right. YH arguing with wife gives us the info we need instead of a flashback.

  43. @GB, yes I agree had Dr. Kang not rush the marriage they all will not be in this fixed. And I don’t think he should hit SW when SW just completed his surgery? And he is a doctor, how can he hit a patient?

  44. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, yes, boomerang karma is strong in this Show! Hence we await the twists.

  45. Yes his co anchor is so nasty in the elevator scene. And the backdrop in the elevator is a picture of the two of them as the co anchors in a more cooperative scene

  46. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF Kang is a selfish lout hiding under a doctor’s white coat. He just wanted to grab and hold onto MY and stop her from being taken away by anyone else. He was not interested in what she wanted. She was sort of pushed into marrying him by his continual insistence.

  47. Logical effect of the stab in the closed room. SJJ good on logic and doesn’t forget to show it. No “put that under the carpet” like in many shows. No camera filmed the ‘non-existent’ attacker (from the past, lol).

  48. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@MM Yup the irony of seeing their real expressions compared to the ones for the poster. So much falseness!

  49. I am glad his close colleagues are supportive,.

  50. @MM, I missed the background picture. Just great as irony!!

  51. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

MY is smart enough to know not to create more scandal by meeting alone with SW on the roof. Better to meet openly and to make it look like a work meeting.

  52. She gives a GREAT resume of her past weeks. ^^

  53. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Good that MY can accept the supernatural incense sticks and can remember how everything makes sense.

  54. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, I can’t help feeling that she’s sort of laying some blame on SW for the amount of trouble she went through in the last week.

  55. Min Young made such a painful decision to remain as his niece.

  56. Oh shit, now she remembers him in the past and have absolute proof of time travel.
As usual with SJJ, use of flashback revelations during the scenes. At ep14, we can expect only half of scenes are fully real time. Crazy writer. πŸ˜€

  57. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE with every change in circumstances, SJJ had to add in another flashback for a character so that we’d get the story. I guess it’s the usual SJJ style … we get to see something first and only know how it happened later.

  58. That background picture is featured again. When he was walking down a hallway it is on every post.

If sun woo were a parent, He would have known better than to give her choices he did not like. I feel for him when she makes her choice.

  59. SW is stubborn! No matters the reality of other people, he will try to build the reality he thinks is the best, use the incens stick!!

“people look at us, don’t cry”. ^^

  60. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

I actually like MY here as a serious adult than as the bouncy ‘kitten’ gf.

  61. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Such beloved and yet painful to receive last words of love. I really feel for MY to only receive them in text and then to have to delete them.

  62. @GB, now it’s also my style, LOL.
    But with more explanation.
And like her, many foreshadowing, but it’s not probable you can guess something from that, because it’s not revelant at the time you see it. πŸ˜€
Yeah, it’s the recipe for MIND-BLOWING stuff!!! ^^

  63. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, it’s because you put in so much time and effort planning out all the plot twists and how they are to be explained before you write.

  64. @FF My thoughts exactly when the fiance was punching sun woo.

  65. Not a lot happens during this episode about plot progression, but a lot of enjoyable scenes (with annoying people). Consequences of events.

  66. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

His most loyal supporter, his CBM Boss is so disappointed in him. But he’s the one who will help in the past/future.

  67. The way they set up the goodbye Makes it even more painful for them and for us to watch. Well done

  68. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, that’s why I call this ep a frustrating watch. Things are going south for SW and MY. The incense sticks are lost and no new prospect of time travel yet to perk us up.

  69. @GB, yeah, I wondered tons of time if a more obscure style (like SJJ) could be better or not. But my conclusion now is: anyway, on screen the explanations would be so fast that you miss half of it, and I rarely explain twice the same thing, resulting in the same screenplay style than SJJ. How silly it is. πŸ˜…

  70. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@MM I cried along with poor MY over the deletion of messages scene.

  71. It so sad to see Min Young deleting all those messages from SW. Like what SW wrote in the messages he never acknowledged his love for her properly and when he finally did, she had to delete the messages and only keep them in her memories. This episode is so sad.

  72. @GB, a bit frustrating maybe. But not so much. The scenes are good in itself. It’s a good time. It’s the best we can get of a slow-down episode. Some other dramas do that badly, full of fillers, and Yyyaawwww, you feel it so boring.

  73. Good scene where the boss expresses his feelings.

  74. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE I recall in Goblin we complained that the same flashbacks were repeated too often. Explaining just once but maybe not too quickly, is good!!!

  75. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE that’s true. Not boring… just frustrating because we can’t move on yet and everyone is stuck.

Much flashbacks of kisses to end off the crying.

  76. This entire episode illustrates The Painful consequences of rumor. What makes it even more powerful for me is that there is no way they can defend themselves even though the rumors are false, sort of. The truth can be something that others would never even think of usually no usually not as bizarre as time travel though.

  77. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@MM Yes, that boss of CBM… I wonder why he doted on SW so much. He wanted to groom him into a great anchor. He was his true supporter together with Young Hoon, just that YH had little power to make something happen to help SW.

  78. Now it ends on the “delete” messages scenes. Hearthbreaking, when she finally delete “I love you forever”… Goooooosh… Did you do that in your life? Yeah? Then you can feel the pain in cinemascope.
The two of them crying for the freeze frame.

  79. It is a relief that her mother does not know the rumors.

Oh and we get the kiss in the rain again.

  80. @GB, Ttt ttt ttt… in Goblin, flashback repeat the scene you already watched. But SJJ flashbacks are more often a scene you never watched, something new!! So, it’s not like a flashback, it’s just a new scene set in the past. πŸ˜€

  81. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Well it was still a solid episode with emotions taking center stage and less plot movement. But it’s a good breather before we get into the next lot of action.

  82. @MM, it would be difficult for them to explain to the world that their “weird love” story happens because time travel. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  83. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE yes and the flashbacks really add to our understanding of the current plot twist or whatever, so they are helpful. They keep happening in the middle here and there in the episode. For time travel, we need that to know why something happens in the future or in the past.

  84. @GB. Another timeline will fill out the relationship between the boss and sun woo. You probably remember this as you are watching ahead as I am. I had not thought though to relate it to this scene.

  85. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@MM the confusing thing is that we cannot yet relate it to today’s scene between them, because it has not happened yet in the time travel timeline. There was some other reason for boss to like SW so much, but in the future scene it appears that that’s how their relationship started.

  86. Considering this time travel genre, It is so fitting that she deletes the messagas, as though she is creating a new reality Without time travel. I think someone else alluded to this idea earlier.

  87. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@MM That’s a nice way to put it. She has to create a new reality which is a false one to her. But she has to delete real messages that mean the world to her.

  88. @GB, I use real flashback in this way: a foreshadowing lost in a previous episode (you probably forgot it) but having meaning now with the revelation! So you have the feeling of “I missed that” or “I was thinking it had maybe an importance but not what for” and if you are the true fighter you are “hey, I guessed it could be it, that or this”).

Of course, I use also some of them for the classic “emotion re-living” of previous emotional scene, but less than kdramas because I don’t know if it’s a flaw or quality, but I don’t have the reflex to put slow scenes with people staring and thinking and feeling and blah blah. When I do it, I really have a scene. (like the one in ep 7 when the girl thinks about a lot of things on a tree).

In a kdrama, you can have people have an argument, and next scene, they think about that, and you have immediate flashback from 5 minutes before. It can be good, but I don’t have the damn reflex to use that.

  89. @GB With both his doctor friend and his boss, The many emotional scenes illustrate the strength of their connection. I am thinking how this goes beyond Temporal reality And illustrates more the essence of their relationships In any And all timelines. Another layer in the cleverness of this script.

  90. Will “signal” be our next rewatch? Others may have seen that Signal two is in the works?

  91. @MM, yep I saw that. But the end of Signal is… hhuuhh…
    Well… let’s say “open” ? πŸ˜…

I have to go now. See you soon.
I’ll try to watch chicken nugget, at least 1st episode.

  92. Yes the end of signal did leave a feeling that another Series could follow. Very interesting to think what that could be. The romance felt like only a partial story. So maybe that will be flushed out or maybe we will get a whole new crime Or the same story from a different person’s point of view. I am talking myself into starting signal now.

  93. About rumors: Another
Way of putting it is that we Only see the surface Of an event and fabrication in a rumor. The truth can be unfathomable To the observer As it is most certainly in this case.

  94. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@MM yes we will be re-watching Signal.

I like your comment on connection/relationships not being restricted to temporal time. Only the tried and true relationships could stand the test of time, rumours and events that many would disapprove of.

  95. Hi, just read all previous comments at 11:47 so have good overview of everyone’s thoughts. Agree that MY definitely is more mature now, but maturity brought through heartbreak which sadly is very relatable.
Brother attempts to rewrite history are shown to have painfully failed in this episode much like SW’s have. He agonized and eventually decided to do the right thing to no avail.

  96. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @LL, glad you can come back to read our comments. Were you unable to receive or see all posts during the rewatch?

The attempts to rewrite history continue to the logical conclusion, I guess. You’ll have to watch until the end to see what you think. πŸ™‚

  97. @GB
I saw all of the comments after rewatch! Even though I did watch this A couple of years ago, I have no idea how it ends!! This actually makes the rewatch more fun.
BTW, watched 2 episodes of Chicken Nugget and it is the worst K product I’ve seen. Gratuitous use of F word, forced laughing…
I expected something whimsical, and this program is far from whimsical and just plain ridiculous.

  98. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@LL It’s the same for me, I cannot recall all the in-betweens leading to the end. I’m watching the future episodes as if seeing everything for the first time. I was also surprised by the twists LOL, so it’s been fun.

Thanks for the warning about ‘Chicken Nugget’. I will wait to see more reviews of it before considering if I want to even try it.

  99. I had to miss last week’s watch and am only rewatching episode 14 this morning to get ready for our rewatch in now 30 minutes. I was afraid I would forget to much or get to confused since I am also watching ahead. I have enjoyed the comments (as usual), especially on the nature of the enduring relationships. I just wanted to comment on the script, the line, “Destiny rocks my will and jeers at my hope.” A nice line! In the larger script, “I would try until the end to find a way for everyone to be happy. Destiny rocks my will and jeers at my hope, but I do not think I have lost yet,” it is a a Hero’s line (in the Joseph Campbell sense).

See everyone in a few minutes.

  100. *mocks not rocks
