  1. 💐🌸💐 @packmule3, thank you for taking time on Easter to open new threads for us. I would emoji you one of those Easter Lamb cakes – the sort that my grandmother used to make, except that 1. there isn’t one and 2. she was finally told that everyone preferred her home made lemon meringue pies. But I digress. I hope that you are having a fabulous Easter day.

  2. I’m waiting for @agdr03 to comment on the scenes you chose. 😆

  3. Ohhh yey! It’s better in gifs! 😍 Those are great to start my week especially because they only had that one kiss. I actually felt deprived. 😂

    Thank you! 🤩

  4. Thanks for the Easter GIF(t)s! May we be gifted with more kisses pls…

Last week of Wedding Impossible… waiting for this to become Wedding Possible. Our eyes on you, DH!

  5. I think we’ll spend a good portion of this ep in AJ looking for JH. My curiosity is, what when she does find him ?

  6. @Arihsi, she will probably beat him up for running away from her. 😄

    Hi @Fern, @Janey, @ Arihsi, @agdr03!!

I second the wish for more kisses. We have been baited time and again each time our OTP are together, but they don’t kiss!

I’m waiting impatiently for tonight’s episode. I’ll have to stay up late in order to catch it.

Sidenote: actor Moon Sang Min will be in another romance but I wonder how many of us will watch it, because he’s playing opposite the actress who was panned here on the Hospital Playlist2 threads LOL. None other than Shin Hyun Been (who played Jang Gyeo Wool).

I am relatively unscathed by HP because I dropped it early enough. I’ve also seen SHB in bit roles in a couple of other shows. She was ok. I may give this noona romance a shot to get more Moon Sang Min.

    EPISODE 11 – It’s taking a bit longer but we’re getting there!!!

  9. Hmmm. Growl. Me is not happy. Me wants to SEE not HEAR long dialogues. Me wants more resolution, more realisation of deep love and maybe more tears? Show me the love. Show me how grandpa reached this point. Show me what everyone was doing for freaking one year.

When I’m sad, my tears roll down my cheeks a la QoT ML. Properly. They do not pool around my lower lids and have anti-gravity properties.

Me is upset at this very long and pointless episode. I’ll be sulking in a corner of you need me.

  10. And drama… Are you telling me that if I traumatize someone for THIRTY years, isolate them, allow them to be slapped around, shoved around, being called trash and such and basically act like they and their feelings are invisible…. And then one fine day, I give them some lame explanation and it’s all okay ?

  11. Blimey, @GB. Long weekend. I forgot it was Monday!!!

  12. I’m with you @arihsi, @gb! I have so many questions for ep11. What happened in that 1 year gap? What happened to SA, JH, grandpa and LJ Company? Did grandpa became kind and caring to his grandsons as AJ advised him to? Seems like he was not actively in touched with them. I’m relieved he told JH the truth and seemed to be opening up but did he entrusted JH the company in that 1 year?

Although I was ok with DH press conference, I was still very disappointed he immediately left. He was still running. JH kinda ran, too and disappeared. Sigh…

I do not understand why JH and AJ had to break up. i guess they have to make JH’s lie the truth in order to avoid more controversies. It seems like it’s more of a reset? Glad to see AJ is back in her acting career in ep12 preview.

So many disappointments in ep11. The only person I was not disappointed was CW – again a voice of reason! She was disappointed at AJ’s decision, too. And great insight on where to find JH.

Good that DH is going home again. DH and grandpa, Step up to get those 2 reunited, will you?

  13. Hi Ladies!

I’ll try to watch it after lunch.

    @GB, I don’t think I can watch MSM’s next drama because I’m not into the FL. 🙁

    EPISODE 11

    Lamest Grandpa
Yes, the arc with Grandpa was terribly disappointing. Not as bad as if Show had left him refusing to speak about his guilt until the end, but I found his justification somewhat lacking. His lack of making amends, deplorable. Until the end, he was in hiding.

Grandpa, (and bad son-in-law) were the number 1 culprits in running away by hiding the truth for so many years, while letting others take the blame. I did always say that the problem was Grandpa. He was the one protecting himself (and in the process, he ended up protecting the bad son-in-law) at the expense of his grandchildren who were the ones he should really have been protecting. He was a great failure in this.

Instead of making things more just and right for the 4 grandchildren, instead of making up to his dead daughter by helping her children build bridges or collaborate, he let them either be entitled bullies or suffer unfair battles, humiliation, physical and emotional abuse… His so-called being in power so as to be protected, only protected himself.

In the end, the grand children had more guts to be honest, to come out and be exposed. To the very end, Grandpa still wanted AJ to enter a fake marriage. That was unbelievable. All respect for him dropped away. I’m glad AJ came back to tell him that he was NOT doing all that stuff for his grandchildren’s sake, and he should wake up and acknowledge it. When we nag for other’s sake we tell them things like remember to bring an umbrella against the rain,… etc.

And Grandpa had not even sent out his scouts to find out how his grandsons were doing. By his questioning, it seems he had totally let them go and had not kept in contact with them for a year. A great FAIL again.

The only okay thing is that before Grandpa left JH, he had taken AJ’s advice and told JH lamely, not to get wet in the rain, but he didn’t even offer an umbrella!

@agdr03, I know what you mean about not being into some actors. I have avoided Jung Woo Sung works for that reason. Then would you believe it, the actress you cannot get into worked with him on Tell Me That You Love Me. I tested myself by watching a bit, since both leads are not the ones I’d choose.

Show-wise, I like the premise of the deaf guy getting around to stop separating himself from connecting with others, … but the show is too slow moving. I like the side characters. The FL is adequate and JWS looks much older than his 50 years. It’s a far from youthful romance and rather low-key. I don’t know. I may or may not continue depending on the emotions the show elicits from me. So far I’m not irritated but I’m getting impatient and am using the FFD button quite a bit.

    @Janey
I’m thinking that Ep 12 is supposed to wrap up stuff and answer the questions of the 1-year gap. The developments of those 12 months had better be more than sufficient or I’ll be fed up.

I will not mind if Seung Ah really took over control and could work with Taeyon (Chae Won’s company). At least the Board of Directors are with her, and shareholders will not lose their money. However, it remains to be seen if Grandpa ever let go.

Yes, DH and JH both immediately disappeared after their press conferences. I thought it was rather weak of them. They should at least have had some closure with the ones who remained. Instead, their excuse was that it was just too hard to face so-and-so. Poor AJ cried for a week and had to hunt JH down herself, in order to resolve and properly close their relationship.

In their culture, the persons who are involved in the downfall of a family member, cannot be ‘rewarded’ by immediately having a happily-ever-after. That’s why the separation ‘resting period’ has to take place. Aj and JH were involved in rocking the company, in bringing down DH, in defying decorum… or whatever. Hence they cannot be together immediately.

However over time, when they show that their commitment towards each other is still strong, ‘society’ will forgive or forget and not comment much when they do finally get together, perhaps a year or more later. There is a period where they need to ‘reflect upon themselves’. This happens often in kdramas. I guess you could call it a ‘reset’ of sorts.

Yes, I like Chae Won. She is a great character to have been added to the story. She was always clear-sighted and relatively objective. She was so right that no one else would know better than AJ, where JH might be.

So we look forward to tonight’s Finale, and hope it’s not going to be as limp or lame as Grandpa!

  17. @GB, agree on your post about “lame” grandpa! It’s so on point. That’s the thing with lying and keeping secrets for the sake of xx – it’s not really for them but for the person who is lying. So I am not surprised DH and JH both “ran away” after their big reveals, too. I, too was so disheartened when Grandpa asked AJ to still marry DH. This is like her conversation with DH all over again. I will have to rewatch the order, but I think this is the last straw for AJ to take control of her narrative and put an end to her relationship with JH.

That period of reflection (don’t they say this after doing a formal apology – reflect on their actions, blah blah) or “resting period” is an interesting concept. And you’re right, it’s used a lot in kdrama. Growth and maturity happens after a time jump. I hoe that includes grandpa!

AJ is so forgiving though – friendship with DH went unscathed by all this turmoil and breaking of contract. TBH, I was waiting for compensation conversation- for her dad’s hair implants! Hahaha!
See, she was even the one who visited their mom’s resting place? JH, DH, grandpa need to grovel hard!

  18. I noticed the paper umbrella was not there when grandpa was visiting. When it was JH’s turn, a green umbrella was tucked in the corner. I also checked, the first umbrella was red. So AJ sneaked in there while JH and grandpa were talking. And then she waited for him outside in the rain. Grandpa said don’t get rained on but did not provide an umbrella. Maybe he invited AJ (with an actual umbrella!). LOL I’m so desperate on reforming grandpa!

  19. @Janey, good catch about the umbrella! The umbrella disappeared and re-appeared, and just after that AJ appeared with a red umbrella of her own. I would love for AJ to have come there with Grandfather, too. It would be like a gift to JH.

@Growing Beautifully, I agree that Grandfather was lame. He was trying to unbend, to make amends for his relationship to JH. Whatever he says now, it doesn’t ring true to me. It doesn’t make up for how JH was treated, so for me, saying that he would still save JH first is a new thing because if it were so all along, JH would have been treated better. I think Grandfather knows this which is why he said he would understand if JH wanted to cut ties with him, as he believes DH did.

(BTW, where was DH when all of the accident drama happened? JH once said to AJ that DH saved him, so now I don’t know what he means. I assumed he meant at the accident site somehow.)

I suppose the lie began because Grandfather felt he must preserve order in the company and also for the sake of all of the grandchildren. But at that point, I think he should have put a ‘leash’ on the son-in-law somehow to prevent him from gaining more power. That would have made more sense to me. As it happened, lacking transparency, the younger boys were blamed for the death of their mother. Their step-father, thinking that his deed was un-witnessed could act as he wished and so inform the actions of his own children.

(Gosh, I didn’t know the mother was conscious when the car exploded! 😫😭)

I noticed immediately that AJ and JH avoided any physical contact the whole time they were in the seaside town up until the last scene when they shook hands. It seemed to me that they didn’t trust themselves to stay emotionally detached while they talked things through. I know what you mean about the period of reflection, @Janey. I think if they had gone straight back into their relationship too much would have been un-resolved.

Yes, I want to learn how the others are doing. What CW and the Taeyang Company did about LJ; what Do Han is doing; whether there’s a new baby at the Na house; how the proposed Shopping Centre is doing; how AJ’s career is going. Hopefully we will get this information tonight. Min Woong was prescient when he told his ambitious wife, ‘…if Seung Ah and her father are still on the same side’ – or something like that.

@agdr03, I think we will have to wait until tonight for those kisses.

  20. So did Seung Ah look at the CCTV video before or after she met with the reporter? It seems to me that if she watched it, she would have seen her father abandoning her mother and JH in the car – whether or not she knew he was responsible due to pulling at the steering wheel. She maybe needed confirmation, but she looked very confident at the beginning of the meeting. If the father wasn’t driving but pulled at the wheel, he could still deny it because there would be no proof of his involvement.

I wonder if we’ll see Seung Ah’s confrontation with her father.

  21. I sort-of didn’t mind that the brothers disappeared after the press conference. If they had hung around, they and those around them would have been hounded by the press. It seems the internet was buzzing anyway, so going away would help stifle interest. DH goes back to NY, probably, to his happy place and I don’t mind that because he can live well there. I wonder if JH stayed at his position in LJ Group or if he got a job elsewhere (Taeyang perhaps?). From the last scenes, it doesn’t look like he was in contact with his grandfather during that period.

  22. I can’t with Grandpa. 😔 You said the accident wasn’t JH’s fault but you didn’t take care of him since the accident, you didn’t acknowledge that he is your grandson until you saw a gain in having him marry CW. You still asked AJ to marry DH even though JH likes her. 🙄

JH was lonely most of his life especially when DH was in NY. 🙁 If anything yeah, Grandpa provided for them and let them be after the press conference. Ok. Rant over.

I didn’t mind the 1 year later because it’s supposed to be a big company and it involves two brothers with one being gay so yeah everyone can just live their lives. I’m glad it’s just 1 year though. I’d give a fit if it’s over 1 year. 😏

I was crying with AJ when she was talking to her family. She was so worried about JH. 😭 It’s just nice that the feelings are true and strong so we can be happy tomorrow.

@Fern, SA did see the video and she confirmed what she saw from the reporter, that’s why she had her breakdown. How sad for her to know the truth. I don’t mind her taking over the company but as long as she makes peace with her two half siblings. I’d be more happy if she and JH can work together.

I think DH saved JH to mean that from the accident he was there for his brother especially because he was still young.

I’ll take all my kisses tomorrow, thank you. AJ looks a very happy bride. 🥰 I’ll take all the OST too. Sooo good for this drama. ❤️

  23. Thanks for clarifying about the cctv video, @agdr03. I wasn’t sure if the meeting was a flashback or if the events proceeded as shown.

I think it would be OK if Seung Ah was in a good place in the company as well. But she will need to do decades worth of apologies to her half-siblings.

Now that we know SA’s father kept his wife’s shares, wouldn’t divorce her and was guilty of vehicular homicide, it makes his place in the firm even more untenable and mysterious to me. The grandfather should have threatened him at least for the boys’ portion of his wife’s shares.

I loved that AJ stayed true to DH even with her family, stating that their fake marriage was to help him with his ‘situation’. She kept his secret, as did Dae Hyun, come to think of it.

  24. I’m glad AJ was there for JH on his mother’s Memorial Day, although her excuse may be that DH sent her in his stead.

It was sad to see how neither AJ or JH wanted their time together to end, JH especially. It makes sense to know that breaking up is considered the right thing to do, and as such inevitable. He asked her to wait for him repeatedly – to cook a meal (I imagine he made the meal as he’s cooked for his brother and for her), to get fireworks. AJ (and I!) almost lost it when he placed some food in her bowl.

  25. @Fern and @Agdr03 – thanks for the discussion on cctv video timing and SA’s dinner with journalist, I was confused at first as well. What infuriated me the most on the accident scenes was that nobody even called 119 (or they didn’t show it).

@hana, those breakup scenes were painful. The dying sparks of the fireworks was an apt representation of their relationship. When she said “I really liked you” then extended her hand out to shake and then goodbye, so sad. I was actually more worried that she will not get a ride back to Seoul because it was late. Me doing reality check! LOL!

Ok, I’m ready do the last episode! I hope the wedding in the preview is theirs and not one of her roles.

  26. It was sweet. I don’t have much else to say in terms of the plot but I was smiling the whole time. ❤️‍🩹

    EPISODE 12
I guess most of our questions are answered. It was a roundabout way to flesh out the ending. A lack of oomph somehow?

I loved who turned out to be the CEO.

I was wondering about those handwritten coupons of JH’s and whether he had passed them on to Sec Kim as he promised. And I was surprised where one of them turned up.

I thought the parallel with AJ originally talking to the umbrella that JH passed her and this episode JH sort of mentally debating with himself in front of the umbrella that AJ passed to him, was cute.

    More later!

    SPOILERs

    SPOILERs

@Arihsi, I laughed at a couple of scenes, was amused to see Kim Bum in a cameo and happy for Chae Won.

But otherwise, I found it quite bland. Sweet, but bland.

  29. @GB sweet, but bland is the perfect way to put it. I’m sad it fell through like this.

  30. Hello chinggus!

I tempered my expectations for the finale because of ep11. Ep12 was ok, it rounded up all the characters’ ending and answered our questions. There’s still some growing to do though and the show put that dose of reality into it, I guess.

In pure grandpa fashion, he bought the forgiveness card from Sec Kim – he said it cost a lot, insinuating the presidency of LJ to Sec Kim! I wish grandpa to do more but this is the dose of reality I was saying, it may be so fantastical if he did a total 180 on his personality especially that he is already old and set in his ways. But at least he was specific of what he is asking forgiveness for, giving basically an approval for JH and AJ relationship. Ok, grandpa, I forgive you, too. 😁

JH and Taek established their own company. There’s still time for JH to get the experience in managing a company and he can still lead LJ especially with Pres Kim at the helm. JH was right to bet on Sec Kim when he was 8 years old. This is another reality check to not give the company immediately to JH. SA continues to be a director of LJ like her older brother. But she seemed to have curbed her “greediness”. I’m glad their father got his comeuppance and got kicked out of LJ. And his secret will remain with SA but she should have destroyed that thumb drive vs just throwing in the trash. just saying!

Happy for CW and Kim Bum. Happy that AJ’s dad got his hair implants (thanks to SIL). Happy that DH is happy, more confident and had closure with his ex. His paintings – face heads camouflaged with colors like masks – now have eyes, ready to face whatever is in front of him.

I didn’t like the ending wedding (not in the mood for plot twist!), I wish they just showed they got married which I think they will eventually. Sigh…

  31. Dear Everyone. I agree that it was pretty bland, like everyone had run out of energy and tension. Call me crazy, but I wanted a bit more yelling or emotion between the leads rather than just accepting their break-up and subsequent re-call to their relationship. The drunken confession again. Hmmm.

Nice cameos! The ending wedding with Lee Soo Hyuk was funny, though. The director or casting director must have called in some big favours. I wonder how the show would have gone with him or Kim Bum as the ML? Just a little thought on my part. Moon Sang Min did very well, but he didn’t blow me away and even Jeon Jong Seo seemed fatigued by the end despite carrying the rest of the drama. Again, my opinion.

That hair on SA’s dad though. 😂

  32. I think the forgiveness card was my favourite part. I wish I could have seen it being passed around a bit.

  33. @fern on your question if any of the cameos would have been JH? Well, the script called for a younger man so not a fit. MSM did good in this show for a newbie. I saw in X that Lee Soo Hyuk and JJS have a new kdrama together! Squee! He looked good as a groom! This casting is so much better than Moon Sangmin and the noona that we do not like. 😁

JJS’s real life director bf also did a cameo as the director of the drama! His line though scolded her for forgetting her lines. LOL!
They are so cute in real life. Such a young, talented director- I watched Call and Ballerina in Netflix (both starring JJS).

I agree, the show seem to run out of steam, even the reconciliation hug was a bit awkward, so does the kisses.

  34. The more I think about it, the more I think those sparklers on the beach were akin to the last episode: not awful but lost spark and wilted.

  35. Ooh good intel @janey!

I liked that the final episode was calm, assured and steady. It showed mature love to me. I like the contrast of JH’s simple, spontaneous proposal and his previous outlandish meticulous methods to win her heart. He had me at lint roller! 😂

Thank you all for the fun ride!

  36. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@Fern, how right you are! Those sparklers were the only spark left in these last 2 episodes. Their dying down was the perfect analogy to what we get in the finale… rather burnt-out sticks of characters left on the sand. They continued to play their roles but there was no spark.

Lee Soo Hyuk and Kim Bum amused me. Together with Jung Kyung Ho and Song Joong Ki, there were at least 4 cameos from biggish name actors!!

I wanted to see Sec Kim make use of the other coupons too, but I’m glad that Show did not forget the forgiveness card. Yes, indeed, the price of it was probably the CEO position, but it was the right move.

SA loses the Board of Directors but still gets some role and her brother only gets a hotel. It sounded like it was SA who got her father into trouble so that he is in prison. I wondered if she had reported him as the one who brought about her mother’s death. Or what bit of whistle blowing she did. She might still have had to pacify Reporter Kang if she didn’t clear his name.

Eun Taek and Ji Ae were ridiculously over-the-top, but played with gusto by the actors. The PPLs reared their heads with gusto too… @Janey yikes, carp juice!!! Thanks for the link. There was the snack, the car, previously Kopiko? I don’t recall what else, but I felt them when they eased their way into scenes.

@Arihsi… at least the opening credits animation ending with the umbrella over JH made sense all the way through to the end!

Gotta run for a bit… I’m still thinking I will be back.

  37. Episode eleven was lackluster. I gather from the above comments that twelve was as well. I am not in a hurry to watch episode twelve. The above mentioned cameos appeal to me more than anything else.

    Glad I watched it though.

  38. @Growing Beautifully, I don’t think that SA reported her father for the accident because she threw away the drive stick and didn’t tell the reporter that she found it. There must have been some more intel on her father’s embezzlement or whatever it was and she found a way to present it to the authorities anonymously.

I liked that Secretary/CEO Kim could hold his own against Min Woong and his wife. Likewise, I liked that Eun Tak could ask JH to speak respectfully to him now, as a co-founder of the new company and someone who was slightly older.

Hmmm. Do you think the carp juice is a type of fish broth? I’m hoping that is the case. I can’t imagine drinking it cold.

  39. I meant memory stick, not drive stick. LOL. Should go back to bed.

  40. @Janey, if Lee Soo Hyuk and JJS have a drama together that should be delicious. I love his voice. He was my favourite part of Doom At Your Service, tbh. So this is perhaps a preview of them together in the same frame?

You are right that Moon Sang Min did very well for a newbie.

Yes, the PPL loomed large in the last 2 eps. The Audi, the stick snacks, AJ’s new little car, probably the soju and certainly that carp juice. 😝

  41. If I had read comments first I could have gotten two hours of sleep that is now lost and wasted. What a disappointing last two episodes.

  42. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@Fern, yes, I made a mistake. I was trying to do a rewatch and found out that she’d got him imprisoned for embezzlement.

I wonder in what way she was said to have gotten rid of the Board of Directors. She’s in charge of a Department Store and her brother has a hotel under him. Yes, I liked that CEO Kim was not taking nonsense and casual speech from Min Woong.

  43. @Growing Beautifully, when we heard that SA lost the board of directors, if she were Chair, perhaps she was asked to resign her position due to her father’s involvement in a crime – because she may have been perceived as withholding knowledge? It doesn’t say really. I didn’t have the impression that she got rid of them, but perhaps the opposite – they may have voted her out because having the relative of a criminal on the board doesn’t look good to stockholders.

  44. @Growing Beautifully, I re-watched the conversation between the older siblings. You are right and I was wrong above. My subs have SIL Se Jin saying that the Board was shattered and Grandfather resigned to take responsibility. So perhaps the board needed to be reformed in order for the company to continue to trade in good faith.

  45. Oops. Double post. Please ignore the second.

  46. Hi Ladies. I just finished watching the last episode. It did feel a bit flat but I still enjoyed it especially with JH being so cute when he’s jealous. 🙂 I liked his impromptu proposal with him saying he will be a consistent husband.

We really needed Grandpa’s approval, I agree with that. I liked the forgiveness card too and how he used it to give JH and AJ his blessing.

I loved Kim Bum’s cameo and oh I got goosebumps with Lee Soo Hyuk’s voice when he said yes at the wedding. Where did it come from? LOL.

I can see JH and AJ going straight to register their marriage. I got a bit scared with AJ’s wedding dress though while she was running. I wish they showed their 2 kids but it’s ok. 🙂

    Thank you drama! 🙂

    PS. The carp juice. Ani!

  47. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    Ad Hoc Notes
At the start of the Episode, the voiceovers of AJ and JH fill us in on whether they miss each other or not as we see what they have been doing for some of the past year. They are lying to themselves that they do not think about each other often.

For one thing the voiceover of AJ is addressed to JH and when it rains or when she has a break, she thinks of him… JH says he thought of her only sometimes. But later on we see that he’s been watching her scenes on a TV show on repeat.

AJ and JH did not plan to meet but ran into each other when they visited JH’s mum. AJ takes pains to tell him that she was there by chance and not to see him. (This surprises me. It is true but need not be mentioned, I felt. It’s the start of how bland the rest of their interactions will be.)

AJ seems to want to maintain a distance between them: “I just thought you might misunderstand and think ‘Is she here to see me?’ ‘Is she still not over me?’

JH questions it though: “That is a misunderstanding?” She laughs at this. (AJ is lying again, and JH goes along with it).

They speak about most everyone but themselves. JH says he saw her on TV and speaks as if she had been the female lead, but she corrects him and thinks that he never even watched her show properly. (But the truth was that he didn’t watch properly because he did not care about the rest of the cast or the plot. He had watched only to see her in the short scene where she had appeared).

They can be honest about themselves only up to a point, and they skirt the issue of how they feel. They do not let on that they have not changed their feelings for each other. They want to show their good sides to each other after the separation, to hide that they have been in pain, and did not want to appear clingy or needy.

AJ leaves her umbrella with JH. It shelters him in the rain. She says to him, what she had told Grandpa he should have said to his grandsons if he really wanted to advise them for their sakes. She tells him to carry an umbrella, especially since he hates rain.

    (continued…)

  48. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    (continued…)
At home, AJ says to herself that she’s glad JH is doing well, that she should have done this at the start and that it was the right thing to do. I wonder if by this she means that she should have kept herself separate from JH from the beginning.

JH gets home with the dripping red umbrella and watches AJ’s scene on TV on repeat, knowing her lines by heart. He admits to himself that he’s not doing well at all and that thinking of her now and then added up to thinking of her all day. He falls asleep watching AJ on TV.

AJ is ecstatic to have DH back and they speak of going out for a drink, but AJ does not wish to include JH. She wants to keep the status quo of how she’s been okay for the past year. We find that no one is against AJ dating JH except mainly AJ herself, with JH being conflicted.

    Fishing with Grandpa
JH is sitting with Grandpa who is fishing.
G: “You’re the strange one, coming along on your grandpa’s fishing trip. Don’t you have a girlfriend?”
    JH: “No.”
    G: “What about AJ?”
    JH: “I can’t date her.”
G: “Why not?” (As if he does not know.)

Grandpa gives JH the ‘Forgiving a Mistake’ Coupon.
JH: “Why do you have this? I gave this to Mr Kim when I was little.”
    G: “I bought it.”
    JH: “What?”
G: “I bought it from Mr Kim.”
JH: “How could he sell this? And how could you buy this?”
    G: “It was really expensive.

(I’ve a funny feeling that this could also mean that Mr Kim had pointed out to Grandpa his wrongdoing and had offered him the coupon to use, in exchange for agreeing to take on the care of LJ [for the youngsters]. I’m guessing that ultimately Kim will pass back the leadership role to one of the grandchildren).

G: “Anyway I use that so that you should forget everything I did to you and AJ. Understand?”
    JH: “What’s gotten into you?”
G: “When I went to see your mother, I saw you two together. She seems like a good kid. Even after what happened, she still came to see your mother. I felt grateful and sorry. Anyway, I used that coupon, so we’re even. So don’t use me as an excuse and start seeing her and stuff. All right?”
JH: “It’s not like that. I just feel too sorry. Plus, it’s been a year …”

Grandpa says something unexpected… in contrast to what AJ and JH had been saying to each other: “AJ didn’t seem to be doing so well. You too.” (Grandpa was perceptive and right. He was referring to their emotional health or happiness whereas when they spoke about themselves, they had referred only to their getting on in work and not about how they felt.)

JH uses AJ’s umbrella as an excuse to go see her but chickens out and hides in his car outside her home. AJ rushes out of the house next morning and recognises JH’s car, with him sleeping in it. She gets him to drive her to work since her manager was away sick.

He admits that he came to talk to her because they had not spoken honestly to each other the night they met. I’m guessing that it took Grandpa’s little talk to give JH the push to say this.

AJ decides that since there are no rain clouds that she could accept the umbrella excuse if she called it a parasol LOL. A deliberate mis-naming of the article to give JH the excuse to see her.

JH becomes AJ’s manager for the day but becomes too jealous of the actor playing opposite AJ. He has to be pulled way by Eun Taek who scolds him for not paying attention to their business. He leaves sad and upset when he thinks AJ has a boyfriend, while he’s been faithful to her.

He calls Chae Won to be his drinking buddy. Chae Won in the meantime has met Bin Tae Hwan (Kim Bum cameo) but she is not interested although he certainly is.

Chae Won is stuck with a drunk JH and palms him off on AJ. The tossing back and forth of JH between the 2 ladies was a sight to behold. JH was sort of grinning throughout. JH chooses AJ to take care of him which she thinks is his revenge for her being drunk before.

    Kim Bum Cameo
42:50 Bin Tae Hwan drives up to give Chae Won a ride. He’s had a crush on her since her wedding. She thinks it’s wrong of him to have had a crush on someone else’s bride. He says the opposite of what AJ had said to DH.
    Bin: “Love comes before friendship.
Is that immoral? Is that bad too?”

CW: “Yes. Critical again.” (CW uses this term around 3 times in different conversations. The sequence and the meaning of what is said is critical so that she knows to accept or dismiss the speaker).

Bin: “But I didn’t act. Why don’t you focus on my self-control?” (Is this the message of this episode? JH and AJ should be praised for exercising self-control, and now they are to be rewarded since almost everyone wants them to get back together.)

Bin: “O how the bride was much too pretty.”
Chae Won laughs. She’s charmed despite herself, and we find out later that he succeeds with CW.

    JH and AJ’s Family
A drunk JH tells AJ to break up with her ‘boyfriend’.

Next morning he surprises AJ by telling her family that he is pursuing her again.
JH to AJ’s family: “I don’t know about AJ, but I like her. No, I love her. (The background music was a hoot… giving us anticipation and then bursting our bubbles of excitement.)

“I know it would seem weird for me to say this after a whole year. You can curse at me or hit me all you want. But even if I’m beaten to death, I can’t give up my feelings. I can’t live without AJ.”
Mother: “Then why did you cause such a huge scandal with that press conference and abandon her for a year?”
JH: “Back then, I thought it would be best for us to keep a distance. That we’d forget each other and time would heal everything. But now I know how arrogant and foolish that decision was. So I won’t make that mistake again. It’s late, but I’ll do my best.”

Su Jung and husband think JH is going to ask for AJ’s hand in marriage, but he asks to be taken in, instead!!! LOL. Dad says they already took in one son-in-law and didn’t want to take in another.

JH asks for a chance to prove himself so that in time they will accept him. Su Jung and husband are happy to ‘take him in’ to do the housework and the parents stop protesting.

After the stress of meeting the family and starting to pursue AJ whom he thinks has a boyfriend, JH sits outside with another tummy ache. AJ tells him that she does not have a boyfriend and comes clean about her feelings.

AJ: “I couldn’t sleep a wink last night. I missed you so much, and I wanted to hug you so much. I wondered how I lived without you. Seeing you next to me made me feel like I could finally breathe.”

JH covers his face and makes a decision that he does not seem to be too excited about, because it’s not according to his meticulous plan for a unique proposal of marriage.

    (continued…)
    The Proposal
JH: “I don’t want to lose you again. Na AJ, marry me. Let me be your husband. Not your brother-in-law or your manager, or a boyfriend you can break up with anytime after a fight. A husband you can share a bed with even after a fight, a husband you can go to see a late-night movie with, a husband who can dry your hair for you when you’re sleepy in the morning, a husband who can clean up your hair on the floor all day. Let me be that husband.”
AJ: “What’s this? Is it really a proposal?” (Way to go to deflate a build-up of expectations for a romantic response. LOL.)

After noting that JH is consistent in being messy in his proposal, and trustworthy because his feelings would be a mess too, AJ says she’ll pretend to think about it, and JH goes in for a hug.

They have multiple little kisses that look awkward and a long kiss that is shot incorrectly. JH’s head should not be blocking the kiss! But I guess Show thinks quantity makes up for quality??

The proposal was sweet but it somehow shot itself in the foot since the buildup of everything JH said was spoiled by AJ’s disbelief.

It occurs to me that AJ will have quite a bit of difficulty with JH as her husband, if she wants to continue to act with kissing scenes. At the shoot for a wedding scene with Lee Joo Hyuk, it rains, giving JH the excuse to run off with the bride (unlike the Kim Bum cameo where Bin did not act on the crush he had on CW).

We end the episode as we began it, with the voiceover of AJ who says that she knows, no matter what she looks like or what situation she is in, she has JH beside her and can be her true self with him. We are reminded that in Episode 1, she was pretending to be the friend of a bride, and then the girlfriend of DH. So being her true self at the end, is a great completion of the journey in growth.

JH tells her that he’d never let her go again. He cannot let her go and would keep holding onto her. We see their raised handhold. AJ’s voiceover says she also loves JH for that. “I love you just as you are.”

    END

  52. Aw, thanks, @Growing Beautifully, for the summary and quotes.

On Viki, JH mentioned being the type of husband who “cleans the floor all day with a lint-roller because of that hair.” It made me laugh to visualise him on his hands and knees rolling a lint-roller over the floor daily. Really, what sort of husband is that? I know that vacuums are in use in Korea because we used to get PP from Dyson in k-dramas, so he’s exaggerating to show his devotion.

  53. Thanks @GB for the ep12 recap!
@Fern, that picking the hair on the floor – the struggle is real! My hubby chides/complains to us about this as well, having me, the daughter and the son with long hair. It’s not just on the floor but everywhere! LOL!

Overall, it was still a good show and made better by our BOD interactions! I’m so thankful for our 6 weeks adventure. Love the OST and I’m definitely a huge fan of JJS!

  54. I agree! Thanks @GB

@Fern I recently learnt about floor lint rollers while I’ve been travelling and observed hotel staff cleaning. They make it look easy! Once over with floor lint roller followed by flat microfibre mops (dry then wet). I’m tempted to get one (a JH would do too!).

I think AJ lied about her manager being sick to get a ride from JH as her sister asked why AJ wouldn’t come out of the house when her manager tried to pick her up that morning.

  55. Haha, @Hana, here I was picturing JH crawling around with one of those lint rollers one uses on clothing. 🤣🤣🤣 I guess that would be above and beyond devotion!

  56. Me too👵

  57. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@Hana, good catch! I wondered what that statement was about her manager not being able to get her out of the house. Maybe that’s why she was late. She refused to let her manager take her and so had the excuse to ‘discover’ JH outside in his car. She really acted like she was seeing him there for the first time that morning!

As for floor lint rollers, I’ve tried them at a place where children gather and it really works very well. It’s less unwieldy than a vacuum cleaner, picks up way more than just hair and is easy to put away. The only problem I found was that it was hard to find the starting place on the roller to peel off the used top layer to reveal the fresh sticky layer underneath. It took me ages to find it. LOL.

  58. Good article on how Wedding Impossible drama came about, the casting, difference with the webtoon and other behind-the-scenes tidbits.

    https://www.teenvogue.com/story/k-drama-wedding-impossible-chang-shinae-interview

    Cheers!

  59. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Thanks @Janey! That was a good read. I need to re-read some parts about the casting. They were definitely a refreshing pair of actors to see together. I’d have liked to have seen them making a home in every day life. 🙂

  60. @GB, IKR? I would have loved to see them
actually married, then with 2 kids in their seaside vacation home – even as epilogue in pictures or snapshots. Hahaha! It was fun watching this with you and the BOD folks! Will try Lovely Runner next.

  61. @Janey, thank you. I learned a lot about what the job titles mean and how the show was cast. After this, I think that more actors will want to be in the shows that this producer makes. I agree about the taxi scene.

And yes, I agree with @GB that the vacation house by the sea in that village would have been a nice touch.

  62. I’m just going to put this out there. While I was watching the show, I was thinking what a great twist. It would be if it turned out that the older brother was bisexual and actually had been in love with the female lead, but did not want to Complicate her life because of his sexual preferences. Or she could have been bisexual. What was her interest in a gay man? I am just putting this out there as an interesting thought that might have added some spice to the show, Especially toward the end. That would really have been subverting the tropes up until the end.

  63. @janey Thank you for the above link. It was an interesting read.

  64. I just watched 11 and 12. I saw some of the BODers’ comments regarding episode 11 so my expectations were tempered. While I didn’t love the ending episodes as much as I liked the rest of the series, I thought it was a sweet conclusion that tidied up the loose ends (except who beat up DH’s boyfriend – which is still a mystery unless I missed it). There was so much plot to sort through – they could have edited the focus on AJ’s career in the final episode to more patiently work through some of the other loose ends. Instead much of it was told in narrative.

I really enjoyed watching this show with all of you. It was a fun watch. Now I will go and read everyone’s comments about the final episode.

  65. @Good Twin, speaking of the last episode and JJS’s director BF, I just saw this on YouTube. It is indeed refreshing to have an actor who isn’t afraid of public opinion regarding relationships.

    https://www.youtube.com/shorts/VWFXNl4ArTc

  66. @Fern they’re a very cute couple irl. I enjoyed reading the Teen Vogue article as well. The executive producer was so positive about the ML and FL.

  67. @Goodtwin – you’re right, who beat up DH’s ex and why was not addressed. With grandpa knowing DH’s secret from the start, it’s possible that he may be involved – rough them up a a bit to scare them kinda tactic. He did not have a forgiveness card for DH.

On the article, isn’t it interesting that JJS does not drink alcohol?

@Fern – aren’t they a rl cute couple? I saw that short as well! I hope more actors and idols feel more comfortable to date as regular people do.

  68. @Janey @Fern when I heard she was dating a director – I immediately thought older/middle aged man. Stereotypes I guess! They’re cute and age appropriate – although honestly once you’re in your 20s it’s up to the individual to decide who they want to date. Thinking of this – you really don’t see the age spread in Korean dramas like you do in western movies where the men are costarred in romantic relationships with women quite a bit younger like Helen Hunt and Jack Nicholson. If anything the women in Korean dramas are often older than their costars. Something to ponder

  69. I thought this was a good take on the sputtering ending of Wedding Impossible. Honestly screenwriters need to write the final episode first and then write the series to fit the conclusion! In any event WI was one of my favorite watches for a long time even with the last two episodes not living up to what preceded. It was made more fun by all the livelg commentary here. https://www.soompi.com/article/1643796wpp/5-types-of-noble-idiocy-that-episodes-11-12-of-wedding-impossible-used-to-wrap-things-up

  70. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Thanks @Good Twin! That was a good read. I agree with the 5 Noble Idiocies used (never knew that they could be categorised!!! I must save this to refer to!) I also agree that this would not have been as much fun if not for all our shared thoughts. Loved putting down my nonsense just for the heck of it! LOL.

  71. @Good Twin thank you or that Soompi article. It contained all the posters here said and more.

Gosh I miss getting Soompi updates as a phone app!

  72. 🍪🍪☕🍪🍪☕🍪🍪☕🍪🍪☕🍪🍪☕🍪🍪☕🍪🍪☕🍪🍪☕

Yes @Growing Beautifully, it was a fun ride and I so enjoyed all of the comments on the WI threads. Many thanks to @packmule3 for indulging us.

I wonder if we will get any fan re-writes of the last 2 episodes. I know there were some for Vincenzo and others.

  73. Do you know, @Good Twin, I felt like Jeon Jong Seo’s acting in the last episodes was not quite as sincere as in the rest; sort of going through the motions – as though she agreed with the premises put forth in that Soompi article. Probably I’m just imposing my feelings on her. 🤪🤦‍♀️ I say that after seeing how she is on talk shows when she is bored or exasperated.

  74. Great Soompi article. Thanks for sharing @goodtwin! And for @Gb and @fern keeping this convo alive. ☺️

Is there a kdrama without any noble idiocy? It’s the mother of all tropes! LOL! But I agree, this is a major reason why the last 2 episodes feel flat. The feisty FL and gutsy plan to the last detail ML kinda just gave up. Until the forgiveness card was released (I like that one!). Now I’m thinking how should the story have ended?

  75. @Janey, write it up if you want and post it here. I would like a substitute ending!

  76. Thanks. Are the cookies for me? 😂😂🙂

  77. I just read the Soompi article and it was spot on.

Thank you for bringing it here @Good Twin. 🙂

It’s a pity MSM’s next drama is with her, I would have liked to watch it if it was someone else. I’ll just wait for his next next drama. 🙂

  78. We are happy you visited us in this post @pm3 and that you are well and safe! Thanks for letting rant and rave on this show! 🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪

  79. Yes, @packmule3, take all those cookies and run!

Good to read that you are home and okay bc people were worried.
