I am a big fan of Yang Zi – great role for her. I enjoyed her with Li Xian.
Miles Wei is an an interesting support role which allows him to extend beyond the boundaries of romantic hero.
It’s a good show – enjoyable story. I loved the vivid colour and authentic-looking detail (make-up and fashion) to support a sense of being immersed in the Tang Dynasty.
Although it is Tang Dynasty – our main FL is a woman who knows her mind and we see how that plays out as she is married into a despicable family situation.
Li Xian is one of those heroes whose qualities gradually emerge beneath the exterior of the rather reputationally challenged Floral Envoy – the man who looks for beautiful women for the Emperor.
I’ll offer comments if others are watching it.

So great to see this here.
It wrapped quite a while back.
And those who gulped and slurped their way through it.. Teasing morsels dropped in twos or ones while it aired.. Are now wondering when Season 2 will drop.
More to talk about once others begin watching.
For me it was a 9/10 Drama..

I, too, have really enjoyed Flourished Peony.
The romantic tension is very well done. Both leads are good actors. The symbolism of the peony is well developed. There is a lushness to the story world. The ending is satisfying for a drama that will have a part 2.
Miles Wei is a revelation as one of the baddies.

Hello everyone, I have been a lurker ever since AoS 2 when I really found guidance from you all during a steep learning curve abt conventions of asian drama.
Writing because I am unhappily waiting for the sequel, loved the show. Have been watching other shows with these leads (best choices ever, meet yourself, will love in spring), but hope you all have some of your usual pithy and fun comments to leaven the wait.
(Writing from the US, I get that more important duties may be keeping some from posting, so just a whimper..).
Welcome to the blog, @ibisfeather. There are many posters like you in this blog who are just happy to lurk and read the posts of others. I’m glad you came out, though.
