Wow!Thanks for being so proactive @pkml3. I really appreciate having this thread in advance.
Happy Christmas preparations!!
Hi, I’m here early today.
Hi @WE, good to see you here early. Good news, I got discharged from the hospital today and am home. It’s easier to post comments on the computer.
Hello @GB and @WE. @GB! Glad you are out of the hospital. I was in the hospital for a week earlier this fall and there is nothing like home (and bills of course, lol).
I am only a few episodes ahead of our current watch but at least I am ahead!
Hi GB, nice it’s a good new!
Hi @SD. It’s time!!! Let’s start NOW!!!
Hi SD.
It starts with a resume without subtitles.
I’m trying to find the title of another time jump drama where the couple share the same space in the apartment although they are a few weeks apart in time. Cannot recall it at all!
GB, “go back couple” ?
I really find Ae Ri too rash in how she runs out at night to strange men’s homes. At least she should not go alone!!!
So in the past it is dry but in Kim’s time is rainy.
So now, how he’s supposed to prevent her to be killed in the past? She’s out at the time when the phone call happens?
I do like this idea (the time jump just a few weeks apart). One of the aspects that actually contributes to the tension is the idea that they can meet one another in real time and the subtle ways that may (or may not) distort the future time line.
@WE, I think Go Back Couple are a married couple. The one I’m trying to recall has 2 strangers.
Suspens moment… but he can’t do anything, unless trying to call when it’s not the time yet… oO
@WE, yes, she’s out when he calls her and she does not even realise that the time is past for their call.
@SD, yes, this show has this concept cleverly done so that everything falls logically into place at the right time.
I like how the music causes so much tension!
I wonder why when she noticed that Jin Ho had a visitor that they wanted to kill her. It was too extreme a reaction.
The past changes before Kim’s eyes.
The music for this opening scene (or scenes, if you prefer, the one in the past and the one in the present) helps with the tension. Same vibe as some of the music in 365 though not as complex.
@GB, no idea what it is.
It’s strange there are still some dramas like that I never hear about. By the way, even without a time travel, I’m thinking about “mind blowing dramas”, like W, MOTA or Liar Games, but I don’t have ones in my list. Maybe last one is Sysiphus? I’ll take a look at this.
I come back to Kairos:
After a big suspens, how it’s done:
– Traces of the crime, so we trust she was murdered, as well as SJ.
– Flashback when she’s about to be killed.
– And PLOT TWIST: he sees the time change in present, traces of murder disapear.
The writer made everything so the plot-twist happens at the last moment, and in a spectacular way with the visuals of time change.
Just as we think Ae Ri has escaped death we find that it’s not true!!!
AR escaped death thanks to the help of the guy (is he her brother?)… she was supposed to kill him and go to jail. But as it changed, the young guy saves her in turn.
But we see there is Do Gyun assistant involved in the situation.
Now wait… SJ discover that AR will still be killed the next day!! Aahhhhhaah… Only thing he can do is to send her a message.
@WE, Geon Wook is the long-time friend of Ae Ri, since school days.
Her young friend seems a bit jaleous… 🙂
@WE the script is seamless and the music helps as well since it is the same in the past and the present. And the framing is so good! SJ looks at the door just as AR is trying to avoid being pulled in; just as we are sure she is done for, we look over to where the extra person is, and we see SJ framed in the doorway.
And I do like the device of the bits of the current reality breaking up and floating up as that reality changes. A nice visual.
Sorry I got distracted by real life and absentmindedly turned off the alarm I had set to remind me. Will join soon.
@SD, yes, and the details help us to understand the transition in time (rainy in present, but clear night in the past).
We can already say that SJ became a very better human since all of this started. But it’s true it’s started low. 😉
Hi MM.
Yeah, today, I set the alarm but didn’t need. I was lurking on internet a bit before. 🙂
Sure thing @MM. We’re about 25 minutes into the episode.
Too much happenning here on a Saturday morning. Hope to join you next time.
Have an enjoyable watch.
@GB So glad you are out of hospital. Comforts of home are doubly comforting after being in hospital!
@MM, I will have to limp with a walking stick or use a wheelchair for some months to come, but at least I can do a lot more at home than in hospital.
He has to manipulate the psycho-killer… -_-
He ask why he killed AR… but the problem is he didn’t, maybe because time changed, or because even in the previous timeline he didn’t! So it’s maybe Do-Gyun assistant who killed her!
Every time I hear something like rain in a drama I think back to Another Miss Oh and the difficulty in producing ordinary sounds to time just perfectly with the visuals. You can sometimes learn a lot from Korean dramas, LOL.
@WE, yes the killer is Do Gyun’s assistant. I call him Killer Lee.
Out of the blue, the Prosecution comes for Kim. I don’t know who set that off or why. I can’t recall if it was explained.
@GB, it’s big after effects. The problem you got with various injury and blood cloth reminds me what got many of people getting covid-jab injury. In case you took that, never do it again. People who spread this fake medecine should be presecutate by law, and it will maybe happens in USA with the new Trump administration. Then law cases could have a good chance to spread in the world.
I am still outside shopping, will miss this episode. But it is great to learn that @GB you have been discharged. Nothing beats home.
@WE and @FF, thanks for your good wishes.
I didn’t realise that I had old injuries in different parts of my leg and the infection brought all that into stark relief. It had a different source from the covid injections but who knows what might be connected.
SJ wife has such a class!!
A bit cold but very beautiful woman.
@WE, you haven’t seen the end of this episode? That classy lady is really something!!!
Hi FF.
SJ wife seems more convinced by what say AR.
But past SJ is so stubborn!!!
“I would have prefered you ask money”. 😀
@GB, I didn’t rewatch before the rewatch, so I remember almost nothing. LOL! It’s like a first watch. Cool.
Seo DK managed to hide his shock over what Ae Ri says.
AR doesn’t know, but I’m sure she’s wrong to contact Do Gyun. ASAP she talk about the daughter kidnapping, he comes back, like if he was worried she know something about what could be his plan. Do Gyun is so highly suspect, his assistant does a lot of bad things, and as we know, guys like that obey to a bigger guy, so he can be only Do Gyun.
@GB In the time jump drama you’re looking for is he a lawyer? I think there is a chinese and A korean version.
It will come to mind if I think about it For a bit. Maybe someone else has already come up with the title. I have Read all the comments
51:00, here we see Go-Yun… I looks like he’s in SJ office?
Do-Gyun meet the president… aasshhh, DG is like a slug spreading shit instead of droll…
Ahhhaaa………. a love affair SJ wife + DG ???
When AR meets Seo Do Gyun, I start to wonder if this is a time loop sort of thing, where AR bringing up the kidnapping causes DG to change his plans which causes the kidnapping which causes AR to bring up the kidnapping. Or if it is a straight linear time change (I think the latter – AR shows up in front of DG for the first time here and time changes and goes on a different track else why does SJ get those terrible headaches when he newly remembers a scene with AR), but my mind goes to loops for a minute anyway.
58:58, see how DG put back his glasses? 🙂
AAHAHHAAAAAA… DG is the villain, but he has a motivation stronger than any other villain: love and passion!!!! 😀
I’ve become too sleepy. So it’s the end of the episode and we get to see at least 2 villains.
I’ll have to trawl through all my old shows to find the time jump one I mentioned above.
See you all next week!
I leave now. Wish you all of good week.
I am thinking this time of the way this drama shows us the time we are in, always an orange-yellow filter and sometimes as in this episode something specific like the rain. But the present is always clearer and often very dark (rain at night, at night when SJ almost jumps off the bridge, dark in the room where the prosecutor is interviewing SJ). In Signal, the past was sepia toned. I think in Queen In Hyun’s Man we could tell just by the costumes. In Nine Nine Times, … I can’t remember. I think it was also filtered in someway, more sepia toned. But in 365 it strikes me, we were always in the present. The reset had already happened, we, the audience, were just very craftily manipulated throughout. The symbols helped set the tone: the hour glass and structures that looked like hour glasses, the tunnel, the long straight road (s) towards nothing crossing like an X. Or am I misremembering? Did we ever see the past?
Have a good week everyone. @GB rest up, move as much as you can bear to, enjoy looking out at your own landscapes/skyscapes and not the hospital’s, allow yourself some quiet reflection time (and don’t get too bored!). Take care.
