Thanks @pkml3! I’ve switched on my alarm to remind me. Episode 6 continues the pace and gives more reveals. Another piece of backstory will become relevant in the current kairos time.
I am missing more than I am re-watching on this drama. Sigh. Another obligation tomorrow has me out at the time of the re-watch. I will watch on my own and comment later (or not…)
I am catching up with this rewatch. I just quickly reviewed episodes 4 and 5. I did watch this drama for the first time just before starting the rewatch so it is relatively fresh.
I will go now and review the threads for these episodes.
See you all later.
@GB I have watched up to episode 6 of Love in Time and then was distracted by the new and shiny.
24 episodes on iQIYI.
I think it would be ok but I am not sure if it is as good on the time travel aspect as many we have watched. It is for the most part well reviewed.
Would be interesting to watch a Chinese time travel story.
Hi @MM, I’m in 2 minds about Love in Time. @WE may not be able to get it subbed in French.
It’s a different take on time travel and the objective for the travel is clear, however the bigger plot is about how to save someone and solve a crime/mystery (I think it was).
It was a clever enough use of the time travel to fix things before they went wrong.
We’ll ask around again to see if Love in Time or some other show might have caught anyone else’s fancy.
See you soon!
I just took a look at the twenty twenty two rewatch possibility list, The link to which you posted in the previous kairos rewatch.
I have always wanted to watch sandglass but did not know how to access it. Not time travel, though I think it is historical about.
The unrest in south korea in the nineteen seventy eighties?
@WE Do you have any idea where I could watch this?
MDL says Sandglass is on Netflix but I do not see it here on Netflix in my country so it is probably somewhere in the world on Netflix.
I came across an article saying Sandglass has debuted on Netflix Jan 1 this year.
@MM Pity Sandglass is not quite my kind of show. I hope you can find it.
I’m strangely killing time by watching the Wicked movie. Seems it just came out this year… Michelle Yeoh looks so good!
Hello.
Hi @WE! Remember this list?
https://bitchesoverdramas.com/2022/06/20/next-drama-for-the-rewatch-party/
Want to pick anything from this for our next Party or try something different like a Cdrama ‘Love in Time’?
@MM, about Sandglass, I’ll make a search to find it on internet, after the rewatch. 😉
It’s time to start NOW!!!
Hello everyone, let’s go!
@GB, so glad that you are here.
Killer Lee strikes again … but Kim does not recognise the corpse.
@Hi GB.
As I should be able to find “Love in time” and maybe English subtitles I can translate, I have doubts about re-watchability. So far, I find the few Cdrama I watched easy to get. For example “Reset”, it was good, but not worth a rewatch.
Hi @FF, I made it a point to REMEMBER, LOL.
I watched this ep earlier and I love the ending.
The episode starts with such a dreaded scene. Ae Ri’s mom hanging there.
Hi FF.
So we don’t know who is the guy who was killed?
And damn-it, someone spy on him. Who? Is it his assistant? (and presumed killer)
Ah ah, not the first time I see a scene in a bus depot in a kdrama. But couldn’t say what other. (maybe this one? lol)
@WE, yes, I found ‘Love in Time’ easy to understand so not much analysis to be done. I just watched to know how they’d change things and how the dying or not dying affected the hero of past and present.
Hi @WE, SJ is being watched and I wonder why he chose to make a police report from the public phone booth instead of using his handphone.
@WE, this Killer Lee is everywhere. He’s always in the right spot to be seen, to spy or to commit murder.
From his conversation with Seo, we can see that Seo is not the killer type. He does not easily consider killing Kim JH.
at 8 minutes always helps to be on first name basis with your banker
The camera focuses on the wife while SDG is hugging her. To me that was emphasizing that she is a major manipulator maybe more so than SDG, just as she was in the scene where the 2 of them are in his apartment after meeting initially..
@GB, regarding the next rewatch selection I am open to non-time travel dramas too.
Villains always have a right-hand man, faithfull to the point to sacrifice themselves for the one they serves in kdramas. Modern or historical, always in historical, but surprizingly too in modern time.
@MM, yes there’s lots more to the woman than is obvious at first. We should get to see some of her backstory soon.
A tender scene with the cheating wife. Aaaah, it’s the love story of the drama. You need to like this kind of love-passion situation. But I’m used to that situation in some movies from my country, and I like this one.
@FF, Kim didn’t want the call to be traced to his mobile number because he didn’t know it was Ae Ri’s mum who was dead. Also he didn’t want to be linked to that death.
@FF, yep, maybe a drama with a SF element, like the ones from Park Huy Rhin?
@WE TY
The shock of realising that his driver and his secretary knew each other before sends Kim into trauma-land, recalling his being buried. It was such a shock, both those events. Now he has to think if he can trust Seo.
@MM, some years ago I found it for free on the website archive.com, but today I don’t know. Maybe it will be a combo “get the video with torrent software, and subtitles separatly”.
I like Sci-fi!
After Geon Wook told AR about putting a tracker to be able to find Da Bin, AR befriends Da Bin and sees the soft toy she always has with her. The steps are in place for her to place a tracker in a toy. This is such a good set up compared to some other shows where things suddenly happen.
Seo can’t resist this fatale woman. ahaha! ^^
We see that Kang Hyun Chae (Kang) and Seo are in cahoots to make it look like Da Bin is dead.
And he does not take his tranquilizer.
@WE, yes a real Femme Fatale… fatal to her father, almost.
Yeah, of course, to be so devious, she has a dark past.
I hope she does not eat her playdough ice cream!
Another surprise for Kim, Boss Yu has Seo present for the lunch without any warning.
But it gives Kim a chance to check on how come Seo recommended Killer Lee to work for him.
The young Sj’s wife set fire to burn her father? She looks like she suffered physical abuse by the father though.
@FF, I believe that Kang did get abused by her father and that was set her off on the path she takes now.
I must have previously slept through the scene.Where did you describes the source of dead children’s bodies. Now I understand how the dna matches.
Seo gets the feeling that things so well planned are slowly unraveling. Kim seems to be suspicious of him.
Now Kim calls the person who received money from Kwak Song Ja… and only after this does he realise who the corpse was.
Seo is so annoying in his way to lie, to hide things. I don’t remember the english word for “faux-cul”. ^^
ABH does a good job acting as a man who is a sucker in love.
@MM, yes there was a scene where Kang herself chose the dead child to masquerade as Da Bin. Think it was in some earlier ep.
@WE “faux-cul” means two-faced according to Google Translate.
@GB, damn, it was a delay before he finds it. Now counter this murder can only have to be in the past. At least he can tell her what happened to her mother. Sigh.
LOL we see that Geon Wook is jealous of Kim since AR is entangled with Kim and seems to be close to him.
@GB, litteral translation would “fake ass”.
The expression is funny because of that. ^^
LOL @WE, I don’t understand the literal connotation but two-faced is exactly what Seo is. He’s in a position of trust but he betrays his boss over and over, taking his wife, now taking his position… and gaslighting him all the time.
Kim does not want to tell AR that he found her mother dead. He cannot have her lose hope and stop helping him.
Kim tells AR that they are linked by the Taejung Town collapse ie he was buried alive as the last survivor and her father died in the same collapse.
This additional link finally gets AR to say yes to meeting him after the whole mess is over. They became the best of friends across time.
Now Kim JH is going to start considering revealing the truth. We see the backstory of how he got involved with Seo’s nefarious plans.
So… he says to her what happened to her mother or not? Tttt, instead I speak about the building catastrophe. MMh, where her father died?
SJ did not tell Ae Ri that he found her mum dead.
@MM, “When the Phone Rings” has been subbed by the way. I’ll watch it right after this Rewatch Party.
Ae Ri finds out that Killer Lee is involved with sending her mother money and fears the worst even when Kim does not tell her that her mum died.
Seo DK frames SJ as the bad guy to Kim Jin Ho. Kim Jin Ho starts to have second thoughts about helping Seo.
Seo proposed a dark arrangement with the presumed killer of Da-Bin, but I remember he didn’t killed her, so just fake it so Seo can hides her with her mother?
Kim JH seals his fate by making that phone call to Kim Seo Jin. But how does Killer Lee immediately know that KJH is about to let the cat out of the bag? The prison guards must be in on it.
@WE, yes Da Bin’s death and Kang’s suicide were all faked by Seo and Kang.
It’s just in time that Kim finds the restaurant where her mum would be and tells Ae Ri.
It’s also fortunate that Ae Ri goes to that place immediately.
AR is the kind to fall to pieces so Kim couldn’t tell her about her mum’s death.
But surprise… an unknown number calls Soo Jung!
She is
A supplicant in a teller line Whereas he was on first name basis with his banker!😁
A small beat that I think illustrates how well this show is written.
SooJung is in contact with Ae Ri’s mother all these while? Omg.
@MM there is definitely a difference in status between AR and Kim.
I’m not sure how Mum Kwak thought she could protect AR by staying away from her and threatening Yujung Consructions. Killer Lee could still have killed her and AR both, and he almost did!!
Argh. The sister hides she communicates with the mother. They all hide something. But with this subplot, it makes an additional obstacle to save the mother.
It’s very fortunate that AR has such good, stalwart friends.
Again she recklessly goes off by herself to look for her mother. As if 2 instances of almost being killed are not enough!!!
Kim Jin Ho visiting a doctor outside the prison? Is that a hint that he will not be able to meet Seo Jin
LOL it’s only August 29 but she knows her mum is going to be at the place on 14 September!
Now KJH’s fate is sealed once he’s out of prison and the guards are lax.
I missed where the money that was transferred came from?
@FF, yes, bye-bye to KJH at least for a while. Few people stay dead in this show!!!
The guards are not lax, they are in it with Killer Lee.
@MM
I’m confused about why that farmer guy received money from Kwak Hong Ja. I know that Lee transferred money to Kwak as part of the deal. But the other money from Kwak to farmer is a puzzle to me.
@GB, you mean Seo Jin managed to save all these people? Superhero of the drama.
I knew it!!!
This guard was suspect the first time.
He goes out so Lee can murder the poor guy.
Anyway, when SJ said “meet tomorrow”, he was doomed to die of course. T T
@FF, the guards did not expect Lee to kill their prisoner.
The scene where KJH dies is well shot. A good way to frame the ‘death’. Looks like suicide but …
@FF, not everyone gets saved, but most do. It was a team effort with Seo giving AR info so that she could change the past and make a difference in the present.
In this drama, as in WtPR, a relationship is being formed over the phone😁
@MM, yes … in Signal it was over a walkie talkie.
Kim is very meticulous in hunting down where Kwak has been. He actually takes the same room as she did at the Motel she was at before she moved.
Oh I remember the motel. The scene will be awesome!
Now Seo Jin becomes a murder suspect.
@WE, yes I really love that ending scene. One of the best!
Reminds me of Goblin and Someday or One Day.
Ae Ri found her mum finally.
The useless police chief is deleted from space-time. ^^
I thought the police chief is rather helpful to SJ @WE.
At least she found her Mum this time, but it won’t be the last! That stubborn mother is a bane. She thinks she’s protecting AR but she causes more worry and puts AR in more danger.
@MM, I found Sandglass. You need to use a torrent software like Utorrent. If you don’t have one, first install it. Then, it will open and download the drama, when you click on the torrent file you can find here:
https://www.tfreeca22.top/board.php?mode=view&b_id=tdrama&id=719392#
The link is valid and from a site I used already.
You need to click on the BLUE link: Hourglass.torrent (89.6 K)
I tested it and there are 100% completed source.
Next I’ll post what to do after.
@MM, next you need the subtitles. I found them here:
https://web.archive.org/web/20080308225752/http://d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic_6904.htm
Click on the link for subtitles 1-24 episodes and download it.
In case the synchro of subtitles isn’t the same than video, you need to resynch it.
For that, download and install the free software Subtitle Edit.
(search SubtitleEdit in websearch)
@GB, we can ban anybody except SJ, AR and Da-Bin. ^^
It was a good time and I need to go now.
I’ll come back quickly for MM to check if everything’s ok.
Else, have a good week!
@WE, we’ll have to also start looking around for a replacement Rewatch Party show. I’ll check out the Sci-Fi dramas.
See you soon!
See you all next week.
@WE I will try to find it on netflix in another country with my vpn. I do not feel very secure downloading things Like this to my computer. It might wellBe fine but I am just not that experienced And i’m a very cautious person.
TY
That tiepin has me laughing. It is like when I got in trouble in high school for writing my name in the bathroom stall. I’m not that stupid and neither is KSJ
Yes Great final scene!
Have a good week everyone.
@GB Have a good time watching episode twelve of when the phone rings. I hope it does not put you to sleep😁
@MM When the Phone Rings is a bit crazy.
I am looking forward to seeing how it is wrapped up.
In my less mature k drama watching days, I used to hope a poorly written show could redeem itself in the last episode. I seem to still not have given up that hope🙃
@GB Oops I meant To tell you I will watch this episode later today. I really need to get going with my real life day.
I look forward to exchanging thoughts on the last episode.
Sci-fi is fine with me too
