Head Wounds.
Okay. I understand that there’s always a hospital scene in kdramas because, like Subway and Starbucks, drama writers get a kickback from the Hospital PPL.
But directors should work on their head traumas.
1. First, the wound site.
The wrapped-around bandage is gleaming white except for this spot of bloodstain
conveniently located on the temple — where we won’t be distracted from Oppa’s handsome face.
Like what??? Heroes can’t get a booboo smack right in the middle of the forehead — like Mr. Smiley here??
Harsh, eh?
2. The bangs.
If he gets a bandage on his forehead, his bangs must cover it. Ugh! Dirt and bacteria cling to hair. Get those bangs off the face and let the bandage show. Better yet, just expose the wound.
Oppa, quit trying to look handsome and just take care of yourself.
3. What’s this headgear?
A crown? A headband? A new-age bandanna? A prison electric fence?
4. The mummy.
Did he have an overzealous nurse? I think she went overboard with the bandages. Instead of feeling pity for the guy, I laughed.
5. Sideburns.
I know brain surgeons may choose to have the patient’s hair shaved or unshaved. But there’s something about that bandaged head with just the sideburns peeking out that offends my OCD-ness.
It’s kinda like finding hair in my burrito.
6. Half-assing the job.
The nurse put a ginormous swarth of bandage around the head, but she skipped cleaning the wound on the cheek?? I’ve to see this show to see what actually happened.
7. Head fevers. (Not technically a head wound but … shrugs.)
How quaint! Getting rid of a fever with the old wet towel trick. I would have recommended taking a Tylenol or Motrin. Faster and less fussy. And less contact with this creep-o.
8. Unrealistic.
An artistic head wound befitting a classically handsome face.
9. Too much gore.
An unartistic head wound. Did the make-up artist have a beef with this actor?
10. The Shy-Shy Trickle of Blood.
“Excuse me, O handsome face,” said the timid blood, “Do you mind if I seep a little bit onto your fine cheek?”
I’d rather watch paint dry on the wall than watch his blood trickle on his face.
