This has potential.
I thought it was cheesy with the time travel approach to rectify a sad love story but I like the premise.
Kang Shi Woo (the CNBlue tall guy) goes back in time to when he was in high school. He understands that his presence in the past changes everything. The future can very well end up being vastly different from the one he left behind. But he’s okay with that because he hopes that even the slightest bit of change in the past will turn out to be a miracle he needs for a better future and a better relationship with his first love.
He says this at the end, “Thankfully, I think fate found its way. It may be that the thing with fate is…it may twist and turn, or fall apart a little on its way but it always reaches the same end point. But that small twist or the one second, or one minute where it fell apart a bit…may create a miracle. Or it may lead us toward a future that is different than the previous one.”
I thought it was an upbeat perspective on the time travel.
If you ask me, the “revised” version of their first encounter is much more special than the original first encounter. In the first encounter, the whole love-at-first-sight scenario seemed fanciful and far-fetched. In the revised version, there was no mention of being hit by a thunderbolt of love, but the sun’s halo on the girl did the trick. 🙂
I liked that they met as friends, and that the girl’s greeting, “Yes, I know you. I’ve heard your name mentioned so many times today.” came out with the right blend of humor, irony and friendliness, without affecting aegyo. I’m tired of aegyo today.
For now I’m continuing on with this 8-episode kdrama.
