Things to do while waiting for subs, from least unproductive to most productive
1. Refresh refresh refresh refresh.
2. Bug the subbers.
3. Pinterest. Nope. Nope. Don’t get started. Don’t PIN gifs from Hwayugi or you’ll never end. Noooooo.
I’m watching you.

4. Stalk people’s Facebook and Twitter. – BTW, you can’t stalk me because I don’t do Facebook and I only joined Twitter last December 29th. Stalk somebody more interesting.
5. Revamp your own Facebook and Twitter. Make it stalk-able and stalker-ready.
6. Learn taekwondo or paper origami. Or both.
7. Watch another kdrama. A subbed drama. I’m slogging through Episode 4 of Radio Romance but I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. The PD is deliberately baiting the hero because it’s clear as day to him that the hero likes our girl. Why would he sign up for the radio stint if he didn’t like her?
Creepy or tongue-tied? …that moment when you realize that the he’s always staring at her but not staying anything.

8. Read bitchesoverdramas to see if packmule3 is up to no good again. Heeey, Monkey King is no match for me.
The match of the century: Maleficent vs Monkey King
versus
9. Do and fold laundry. Pick up suits from the cleaners. (my actual list)
10. Organize your spice rack, pantry, shoe rack or walk-in closet. (also on my actual list)
11. Shop for food and drinks. You’re not SunMi. You have friends, family and hopefully, a loved one to feed.
I’m still waiting for the ramen scene in Hwayugi. It isn’t real Kdrama without a ramen scene.
12. Sign up for a free online class at Harvard.
13. Listen to ted talks.
14. Read Shakespeare. His plots are still being used today, especially in kdramas. I suggest Much Ado About Nothing. The story is familiar. Two long time verbal-sparring partners (they bicker over everything), Benedict and Beatrice, are tricked to believe that they love each other. No need for a Geumganggo or magic spells. Reverse psychology and rumors did the trick.

15. Get training to become a volunteer at a Domestic Violence shelter. You will learn so much more from these women’s actual stories of pain, courage, and hope than the kdramas you watch. Your help and support are much needed.
16. Exercise. Run like your Oppa is ahead of you, and his stampeding fans are right behind you.
17. Go to your house of worship and pray for world peace (no! Not quicker subs, silly!) and say thank you for your blessings.
18. Call, not text, your your mom, sister or grandma on the phone. Have a bonding time with real women.
19. Travel with your special someone. It’s the weekend.

20. Spend time with family.
#8. Yes.
It’s very hard for me to get into another drama if none of my favourite actress is in it. So it’s amazing that I actually started and finished Prison Playbook. It’s that good.
I’m trying very very hard not to read the recap on dramabeans or read the related forums. I find that it somehow swayed my opinions on the characters. Like for episode 12, I can’t get into Son Oh Gong’s affection for Jin Su Mi. I can’t put my finger to why exactly. Or maybe because Lee Seung Gi is so good in his acting that I could sense his trepidation about his feelings after discovering the black bell. I’ve been watching the gif of the kisses for episode 13 and I still felt he’s not really into it. I hope by not reading the recap, I can be more into the show.
I have within this week, finished a book. Albeit a bit too fast. Now the subs are not even out.
Hahaha. #8 I noticed that I had more visitors dropping by here in this blog yesterday. I wondered why you were all here when it was a Hwayugi night. I realized afterwards that you must have been bored waiting for the subs. 😂I was just a “filler” 🤣🤦♀️🤣
Wait!!!
Are you still talking about Monkey King caressing SunMi’s face
in front of the priestess? (I’m sorry. @phikyl mentioned this, too.) I haven’t rewatched that scene yet,
Edited to add this: I rewatched it just a while ago.
My general impression was that the WHOLE TIME OhGong was being lovey-dovey with SunMi while the priestess was there, he was egging on the priestess to become jealous of him and SunMi. He had a motive.
Look, he doesn’t put on that kind of heavy boyfriend act with people around unless he’s trying to avert or ward off something.
Like Jonathan. OG kissed SunMi to claim her and make sure Jonathan didn’t “get” her. The kiss was a “keep-away from her” gesture, more than an “I love her” gesture.
Same thing with this priestess. He was warning her NOT to try anything with SunMi because he was watching her (the priestess) every move. However, OG was warning/threatening the priestess in a way that would keep SM oblivious to what was going on. He wanted SunMi kept on the dark.
Remember SM is gullible. Whenever he lays it on thick, she doesn’t question why. She falls each and every time he does these “I’m your boyfriend” acts.
OG didn’t want SunMi to know that he had an ulterior motive for acting all Boyfriend-my with her.
Edited to add this: he wanted her to react naturally to his moves, while HE planned the offense and counteracted the priestess’ plans. He’s been keeping her in her fairy tale of hers and trying to preserve her innocence. 😀
In the priestess case, my take on it was that he wanted the priestess to focus on HIM rather than on SunMi because he was protecting SunMi. Seeing him act all lovey-dovey with SunMi, the priestess felt envious. She wanted OG for herself. But in getting the priestess’ unwanted attraction on him instead, he kept SunMi safe.
Edited to add this: as for his face caressing earlier, when he told her not to be persuaded to let him go no matter how hard he conned her, he was being sincere.
Edited to add this: The problem with the viewers is that they cannot trust both OG’s words and gestures to mean the same thing anymore. Remember in my post about “fake or not” acts of love, and I wanted you ladies to tell me whether you believed him or not? Well, OG has been deceiving himself too (especially in these last couple of episodes) so now it becomes doubly harder for viewers to tell where the lies end and the truth begins.
