But because I’m a crazy bitch, I also have a Tracking poll. 😂😈 This poll tracks or follows the progress of this show over time and compares plot development vis-a-vis Reply 1988. Based on the mirror images of characters in APaD and Reply 1988, MingHo/JungHwan are due for a plot twist pretty soon.
pwahahaha. BTW, I don’t have to tell sane people that my polls are unscientific.
These are my notes on the similarities between the characters.
Beginning:
MinHo/Junghwan behaved rudely with the girls. It was obvious from the start who MH was replicating. duhhhh.
Main lead JaeWook arrived late in the picture just like Taec arrived late to his party.
Family structure:
MinHo/JungHwan have a family of four. Both older brothers are considered a genius, but JH’s hyung is a drop-out, while MH’s hyung is an over-achiever.
JaeWook/Taec have solitary existence. JW has a “father” mentor, while Taec has a loner dad, too.
BoYoung/Deokson have sibling relationships. They both have younger brothers who are spoiled by their parents, and nosy unnies who lord it over them.
Trip to China/Trip to Anseong & Birthday Party:
MinHo got the special birthday cake and attention that JH didn’t. DS’s pink shirt present to him was chosen by her girl friend.
Point of No Return/Crossing the Line:
JW wiffle-waffled on defending girl, but Taec didn’t.
MH/JH decided for Noble Idiocy and let girl go away
Beach:
MinHo planned the beach trip for BoYoung.
In R88, Deoksun planned their activity at the beach.
Picture/Phone:
In R88, JH left his wallet (purposely?) with photo of himself and DS in Taec’s room.
Taek found it, and made him change his mind about proposing to her the following day.
In APad, MH uploaded his and BoYoung’s picture at the beach (purposely?) on his caller ID.
JaeWook saw it, and made him change his mind and PROPOSE to Boyoung because he didn’t want to lose her to somebody like MH.
Race to get the girl:
Three guys MH and JW/Taek raced to get to the girl.
However, MH copied Taek and ran on foot to get to her. JH didn’t start moving till late.
MH encounter motorcycle accident; JH supposedly had trouble with red lights.
Kiss:
JW/Taek kissed the girl. However, in R88, Deoksun denied it because didn’t want to ruin friendship. In APad, BoYoung didn’t know it would ruin her relationship with MH.
Soccer Match:
Taek’s team loses so I’m expecting that JW’s team to lose too.
But Taek carried DS off the soccer field because so I’m expecting MH to give BoYoung a piggyback ride or something.
Time-Leap:
In R88, a few years passed to let the kids grow up….
In APad, I can foresee MinHo returning to Anseong to let the people cool off first. In fact, I want him to leave for good. lol.
If we were going with the theme, “If he does it, it’s adultery. If I do it, it’s romance,” I would say that, despite all the @#$@# things thrown at MinHo, we’re TRENDING towards a MinHo/JungHwan endgame… just to rattle some cages and scare the Yeliners.
