I watched this last night and it was good as the tv series. The tv series stayed true to the movie version. The lead actor in the movie was with Yang Yang in that reality show. They were only two of them.
The lead actress in the movie was very pretty too. I wonder if she’s still around.
I was just checking whether our internet is all good now after changing providers so I saw this.
The new series for our Yang Yang and Zheng Shuang is scheduled for next year. ☺️

Yes, my friend told me that the lead actress is pretty. Somebody with the dubious-sounding name of Angelababy. That sounds like a handle on the internet, like my “packmule3” lol!
That’s why my heart goes out to the actress in the TV series. She isn’t a “natural beauty” as you can tell so she must have received a lot of flak for her plastic surgery. We know Yang Yang can beat any guy in the looks department, but for Zheng Shuang going up against a beauty like Angelababy (not sure if she’s natural or not either) would have been stressful.
Entertainment business is tough, isn’t it? The desire to act, to express oneself in the visual arts, and to tell the story of the human condition using your body, cannot be limited to just the “beautiful” people. It’s downright discriminatory to ugly toads. 😉
Thanks for sharing about the movie version of Love O2O. I really liked the movie! Of course at 2 hours it was not as detailed as the series 30 hours length, but I think they did a nice job. We lost the side character stories in this movie version. One thing I really liked was how movie Weiwei was always a full partner in the team when they decided to make the new game. She was never an intern. Surprisingly, I think Angelababy did a great job as Weiwei and I have to say I liked the movie Weiwei character better than Drama Weiwei character. Movie Weiwei was just more spunky to me. Jing Boran was fine as Xiao Nai, and Movie Xiao Nai character was just as dreamy as drama Xiao Nai character. I think the chemistry between the main couple was good and the kiss scene in the movie was much better than in the drama (I really don’t like the 1st kiss scene in the drama). Added bonus is that Angelababy is much more skilled actress in lovescenes compared to Zhen Shuang. It was really funny to see Bai Yu playing Cao Guang role in both movie and drama. Although it was the same role, CG movie version and CG drama version were a bit different since movie CG character was a combo of both Cao Guang and Zhen Xiaoshang.
So, who did it better? For Weiwei character I like the movie version and I like Angelababy’s performance over drama version and Zheng Shuang.
For Xiao Nai character I like drama version and Yang Yang performance over movie version and Jing Boran.
Overall, I like drama version of story over movie version but that is because drama version length allows for more story depth with all of the side characters, etc. We can get more immersed in that world.
And who says Zheng Shuang isn’t pretty?! Zheng Shuang is gorgeous! Of course, Angelababy is prety as well. To answer @agdr03, yes Angelababy is still active in entertainment industry. She took a short break after her son was born,but she’s getting more active again now. She was just in the drama Entreprenurial Age.

There’s another Cdrama that a friend of mine recommended. She said it’s light, too. “I Hear You” It’s on YT, I think.
Yes, I have seen recommendations for “I Hear You”. People say it is cute. It’s not on the same level as Love O2O, but then very few C Dramas are. I didn’t know that it had english subs available-last time I checked people were trying to find subs. Let us know where you are watching with subs- I will pass on the info for sure.
I’m watching CDrama rom com “About Is Love”. It’s really cute too. There are a lot of cute C Drama rom coms out recently.

I found the time to watch last Thursday night before going to bed because Friday is work from home. 🙂 I have to agree with @Table122000 that the lead actress in the movie, Angelababy was more better than Zheng Shuang in the drama. She was more lively? Perky? She’s got spunk? Whereas WeiWei in the drama was shy altogether. I find Zheng Shuang very pretty actually. When she was in Divas Hit The Road 2 she looked good and she had more body. But come LoveO2O, she was really skinny and I did not even hear about her plastic surgery. She’s still pretty though and by the time the press conference happened, she’s looking like her old self. I have to say that even if there are other actresses that are more gorgeous than ZS, I will have a soft spot for her because she is Xiao Nai’s Missus. 🙂 For me it will only be her that’s good for Yang Yang. LOL! Did I just ship them?
It is a very hard industry and really it should just rely on talent and capabilities.
I didn’t mind Jing Boran as Xiao Nai but no one can beat Yang Yang for me. 😉

I am still not watching any other cdramas. That About Is Love is in Netflix too and the girl in it is the girl from Meteor Garden 2018. But I really can’t get myself to watch another one at this time. 🙂

You’re welcome, @agdr03. As for Love O2O movie vs. Love O2O drama, we are thinking alike. Movie Weiwei was definitely more lively and spunky. She had more self confidence than Drama Weiwei.
The drama on Netflix starring Shen Yue of Meteor Garden 2018 fame that you are thinking of is “A Love So Beautiful.” Unfortunately, About Is Love is only available on YouTube for the raws. I’m watching subbed episodes at a fansite.
“A Love So Beautiful” has many, many fans though. I did watch it because so many people were raving about how fantastic it was. Plotwise, it reminded me of Playful Kiss/It Started With A Kiss. For me, it was OK. I didn’t think it was “the best rom com ever in the history of the universe”, mainly because I don’t really like the plot of Playful Kiss. This drama wasn’t as extreme as original Playful Kiss (thank goodness) but it did color my enjoyment of the drama. That said, if you are a fan of the Playful Kiss/Mischievious Kiss/It Started With A Kiss plotline, you will be in heaven because it uses those tropes but it softens them.
Yes, Zheng Shuang dated Hans Zhang for 5 years before they broke up. Then she dated Tiger Hu until 2016. Now she has a new non-celeb boyfriend.

I know all about the flexed muscles. I used to call out my boys when they strut their stuff and flex their abs, pecs, whatever for the cameras. I had flashbacks of times when brothers would pose for family pictures with me in a headlock just to show off their muscles. hahaha.
As for Yang Yang girlfriend, he is keeping it private. There is no public announcement, but I’m sure he’s not lacking for female company because he’s got looks and he knows how to use them. 🙂 I don’t blame him for trying to keep things private because I’m sure any girl he dated would be eaten alive by the crazy fans, poor thing. Although I think he has a bit of a reputation as a ladies’ man, so he may still be just playing the field and not in a serious relationship. Don’t know.

Yang Yang’s muscle (swimming shots) came about because he did a lot of exercise and ate only vegetables for 2 months if I read and watched it right. 🙂 No oily food, he said. I’ve never been in a headlock. hehehe

I can understand him for keeping his love life private because there are the crazy/morbid fans. 🙁 I saw an interview that he did and he said something like it’s hard to experience having a relationship because someone is always watching you. Zheng Zhuang even said that she distanced herself from Yang Yang while shooting Loveo2O because she doesn’t want to make the fans angry. 🙁
Anyway, I believe that for now, he is not in a serious relationship. Just my gut feeling. 😀 I could be wrong but like you said, he knows that he has the good looks and definitely knows how to use them. 🙂

For instance, an idol dating a nondescript girl. I can guarantee that the comment with the most upvote would be “Hul! Oppa can do better.”
I know right? She would have to be the most secure girl in the world for her to be able to face the nasty fandom.
