About the sulking and acting Insane: She comes back after having hardly any hot pot with FP, but GWY is literally waiting for her at the door in the dark LOL! So scary. This harkens back to the knife sharpening horror-movie vibes. But Mo Mo takes it in stride and gamely sits through another interrogation by GWY.

hahaha. I didn’t think of that! I thought he just rushed over to the door once he heard her key trying to open the door but that’s a possibility. He could have been “literally waiting” for her at the door all this time. Frowning at the door, too.

I do notice that both of them have the tendency to sulk or to give the other person the silent treatment when they’re offended. GWY seems to do it more often, though. Right now, neither of them are in a position to communicate exactly what’s bugging them — because they’re not in a relationship yet. But when they’re properly dating, I expect them to be more open and express exactly how they feel. It was really so easy for GWY to tell STM straight-up, “Hey, I went home early today to keep you company and watch that horror movie together. But you weren’t home. I didn’t know you’d go out and I feel disappointed.”

And he could have texted her, too, like she did with him, and asked her, “Situ Mo, where are you? I’m home now.” lol. She would have come home running.

She’s still artlessly candid and truthful at this point when one innocent mention of FP is enough to get GWY miffed, and her confounded.

She probably didn’t expect GWY to be upset. If she had known he’d be jealous about FP, then she would have “euphemized” or circumlocuted to reveal that she was with a colleague who was friends with Fu Pei. She could have said that she went out with her girlfriend to hotpot and Fu Pei was only incidental/accidental attendee.

I found the morning chat at the bus stop over having hot pot and being cold and having radiators at home ludicrous, with GWY still going off in a huff. Speaking of chilly responses after hot pot!!

Hahaha. You’re right. The “hot pot” invitation had a chilly reception.

I just finished watching Ep 11 and awwwww… he had been actively listening to her chattering the whole time! He remembered her wanting a snowman.

And the way he rebuffed her invitation to eat “hot pot” was revealing, too. He called it “lame” and I don’t recall him using that word with her before. He was really in a snit that morning.

And see that? I can’t believe that he has to trek over to the NEW campus everyday just so he can be with STM in their apartment at night. How’s that for dedication? Her roommates mentioned it that night of her birthday party. She invited them to stay overnight and Wang Shang said no because they had schedules the following the day. Their apartment was too far from campus.

I compare this to the evening when we have that domestic clothes folding scene while he’s trying to woo her literally by the book! LOL.

Yes, that was a domestic scene.

Personally though, I prefer to fold the clothes by myself. There’s something therapeutic about folding clean clothes and putting away clean dinnerware. I couldn’t help eyeing the way GWY folded his clothes. I wanted to refold them.

I also like how there’s always fruits in the fruit basket now…and someone repainted the green basket into light green. hahaha.

One call from GWY’s senior and now it’s Mo Mo who manifests jealousy, tries to eavesdrop and then pretends that she was not trying to eavesdrop. It seems that falling in love and being insecure about the other part bring out all kinds of deviousness in otherwise honest beings! She does not lie to manipulate but to protect herself, but it’s a noticeable lapse in an otherwise truthful and open soul!

I find all her jealousy delicious.

She’s getting her just desserts. She didn’t want to be mistaken for GWY’s girlfriend so too bad for her. Had she kept quiet and laughed off the misunderstanding, instead of vigorously protesting their pretend relationship, then Yu Yin wouldn’t have made a move on GWY, and she wouldn’t feel jealous. She reaps what she sows.

She should have called dibs on the guy.

The same thing we say about Mo Mo not being aware that she’s in love applies to GWY. When he mentioned his senior as the one who brought in the Atlantic magazine, and she’s off in a flash (of jealousy). He does not understand that she’s doing exactly what he did when he heard FP’s name and that she’s in love with him as well!

True. I don’t think he’s a clue that the Senior is a trigger for Momo. But I can see why Momo can become jealous of her. The Senior is nice, smart, pretty and speaks the same language as GWY.

If Yu Yin was a bit more unscrupulous, then yes it would have been easy to dislike her and pin her as the evil third wheel, “homewrecker” or boyfriend stealer. But as she is right now, she’s playing by the rules. Momo told her that GWY was unattached.

Most of the time I absolutely cannot bear that Math guy as you call him. I’ve never come across a character so suspicious, with so strong a victim complex and fear of losing out. I applaud the team’s patience with his nonsensical accusations.

Yes, I know people like him in real life so I’ve been ignoring his character all this time.

The closest comparison to his one-sided competition is a sibling rivalry with the Prof. Jiang as their parent. The Math guy is the inferior brother who feels “unwanted.” He’s watching like a hawk that the superior and “favored” brother Gu WeiYi doesn’t get more than his fair share.

But as long as the Math guy doesn’t sabotage GWY’s work or reputation and hijack GWY’s career in the future, I don’t mind his complaints and perceived grievances.

However I thought he was very astute when he distilled the chilliness in GWY that morning to ‘You’re afraid to lose the girl, but you don’t know what to do and so you’re angry, right?” He hit the nail on the head with that one. But all his suggestions after that were ridiculous and childish. 😂

And that’s why I missed this scene. Hahaha. I tuned out the Math guy.

But I’m not surprised that he figured it out. You know what they say. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. 😀
