I don’t recommend binge-watching during the holidays because this is precious time to be spent with loved ones. However, if you’re like me and you need downtime from your brothers’ constant jokes about your disastrous dates in high school and other life mishaps, then here’s what I would binge-watch.
1. Love O2O
lol. Of course. I’m going to start with this one. This was my first Chinese love series and I don’t regret it. I’m prepared to fall in love again with Xiao Nai.
To anybody who’s new here to this blog: watch the series first before watching the movie.
2. Put Your Head on My Shoulder
Another Chinese romance show about college kids. Do watch it for the guy. He’s a sweetheart. It’s on Netflix now.
3. Reply 1988
Spare yourself the heart’s pain: the OTP is Deoksun and Taec.
4. When the Camellia Blooms
Because this is a feel-good show just right for Thanksgiving. I want to rewatch it so I’ll savor the small things. I breezed through it so I could catch up before the series end.
5. My Sassy Girl
I want to rewatch a fusion-sageuk where the political intrigue doesn’t get in the way of the romance (sigh… I still remember the disaster that was “Tale of Nokdu”).
6. The Knight Before Christmas
lol. I’m adding this to my list although I haven’t watched it. I haven’t watched an American romance movie in a long while, so I want to see how we’re faring against kdramas and Cdramas. It’s on Netflix.
7. The World Owes Me a First Love
Another Cdrama. I don’t know if it’s good but the girl looks cute. (The guy? not so much) She’s his secretary and he seems to be in love with her. I’m binge-watching this.
8. Extra-Ordinary You
Reminder: The OTP is Haru and DanOh. If you haven’t watched this, go ahead and binge-watch this so you can join our rewatch here. lol.
9. Love in the Afternoon
Kim HyeYoon (the actress who played DanOh) made me feel nostalgic all of a sudden for Audrey Hepburn’s movies. I’ll start with this one, then move on to Sabrina.
10. Delightful Girl Choon-Hyang
One of the earlier Hong sisters movies. Back then, I thought this was soooo melodramatic, but I want to rewatch this to see if it aged well.
11. Go Go Squid
I need to sit down and finish this. But since all I can remember is the guy’s frowning face, I might have to start from the beginning again. His scowl made an impression of me.
12. The Story of Minglan
I need a reminder to be grateful that I don’t have to deal with troublesome extended families and concubines. This is another Cdrama I should finish watching.
13. Downton Abbey
I’m afraid to start this series because you’ll never see me on this blog again. lol.
14. North and South
It’s on Netflix!! I can watch it again. If it snows this weekend, I can imagine Mr. Thornton calling me, “Look back. Look back!”
15. Autumn Concerto
So I can remove this from my bucket list.
16. Pinocchio
Correct me if I’m wrong. I heard that the ending was good?? I want to see what the fuss is all about between Park Shin Hye and Lee Jong suk.
17. What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?
What’s wrong with me? I can’t seem to finish this show despite trying to jumpstart it several times already.
18. My Love from the Star
Am I the only one who didn’t watch this? If ever there was a category on “Jeopardy” regarding kdramas, this series by Jun Ji Hyun and KIm So Hyun would definitely be included.
19. My Absolute Boyfriend
Although I’m not into robots and human romance, I’m missing Yeo JinGoo (the Hotel del Luna guy). But I’ll fast-forward to the ending to make sure I’m getting a happy one.
20. W
I have got to finish this before the writer starts another one. She wrote “Memories of the Alhambra,” and I’ve a theory that she’s working on a trilogy here on faith, hope and love. “W” was about faith or belief in a creator, “Memories of the Alhambra” was about hope so the last one will be about “love.”
21. Jugglers
This Kdrama wasn’t so bad. I watched it for the female lead but ended up staying because of the guy. lol. I don’t mind watching it for the couple again.
22. Anything by Lee Min Ho
pwahahaha. I’ve got to get ready for his Armageddon of a kdrama next year, “The King: Eternal Monarch” by studying his tricks of the trade.
So there you go my bucket list of kdramas, cdramas and American films. What’s on your list?
“18. My Love from the Star

I haven’t either. Is this the one where the alien showers with a towel around his waist? I was wondering where that particular scene mentioned on this blog came from. 😂
Downton Abbey was addictive. Although I watched till end of S2?? I think?? And I lost interest. Strangely enough, my interest with the pairings sat best with Anna and Mr Bates. And the barbed quips by Maggie Smith were unforgettable. “What is a weekend?” 😂

I don’t have Holidays!
But if I have to rewatch dramas, it would be Healer, Signal and Extraordinary You.
Hey, join us for the rewatch of Extraordinary You, okay?
Signal? I think I watched that. The one with the walkie talkie, right?
Downton Abbey is so good! But..well i just watched until episode 4 so i also need to catch up😂 if i have time. I love period dramas.
As for cdrama you can add to your list My Girlfriend is an Alien and Before We Get Married😉
Try…Heirs!lol 🎶love is the momentttt🎶🎵 just for eye candies. Woo Bin a d Kang Haneul are both in it.
@packmule3 Yeah, this one. Now I think I can rewatch it because I forget a lot details.
Yeah, with pleasure 😀
I don’t rewatch unless it’s a holiday tradition but here are a few my daughter and I rewatch every few years, or a few episodes, and I own.
A Room with a View: ‘Joy! Truth! Beauty! “. Lol
Pride and Prejudice
North and South
Amelie
Healer
Alias
Buffy the Vampjre Slayer
Lord of the Rings
I am currently watching no Asian dramas at all. I am binge watching The Expanse.
You sure you want to finish W? The writer herself said she didn’t care about the quality of her endings so if you want anything wrapped up or anything consistent you’re out of luck. I was disappointed with the ending but the interview with the writer actually made me angry.
Ugh! If I were a screenwriter, I wouldn’t do any interview after the ending. There’s something icky about it like navel-gazing. Do you know where I can find this interview by the W writer? I want to see it.
Yes, I feel like I’ve to get started and finish “W” because I promised @wenchanteur I would take a look at it for him. 🙂
I watched a short segment of “Love with Flaws” and I felt a connection with the heroine’s problem. Maybe I’ll finish the two episodes today if I can find a quiet spot to watch this here in the mall.
😂 I said I wouldn’t start another drama…BUT…Chocolate is on Netflix…and I started it. It’s melo. And it’s got ahjussis in it. I need some adult romancing now that EY is done. I don’t want anything too complicated where my sleuthing skills will be required. Looks like a straight up melo with angst. Ep1 looks promising.
I’m back from holiday getaway and catching up on yr blog! Actually I am setiously considering watching When the Camellia Blooms…but I haven’t finished Nokdu now seeing what u all are saying about it, I am not sure if I would finish it.
Ohhh…”W” I binged watch it with hubby because we had to know what happened next. I was rather troubled by some gaps in the story which I had to let go. Loved it nonetheless also because it was my first manhwa to reality kinda show. EY was the second. And the ideas for it is always interesting for me.
@barbrey. the Expanse – have you read the books? I read before starting the series and it’s interesting, seeing the changes they made.
@packmule3. Love with Flaw looks interesting to me as well. What’s the right term for this genre, a broad farce? Anyway, the characters and relationships seem interesting. And any guesses as to the bag lady’s story?
Is this a trick question, “And any guesses as to the bag lady’s story?” 🙂
I’ve no clue. Tell me please when her identity’s revealed.
The stitching on her hat however says:
“Cover and keep in a cool place
Out of the sunlight
For 10 days to 2 weeks”
@Flyingtool, that’s right, I remember you’re a fellow scifi-fantasy reader! I only read the first of the books and eight years ago so can’t remember. Anything interesting re the changes? I’m now halfway through season 3 of the show.
@packmule3, I saw an English translation transcript on the Soompi forum for W, I think. At least, that’s usually where I get news on a drama. But I have no idea when or where on that forum.
Btw, I read a lot of sci fi and fantasy so W did not get too many props from me for originality – I’ve seen the concept before only done much better. It intrigued me to the point the world stopped making sense, the same issue I have with EY though EY was way better. So I’m a jaded viewer which might explain why W did not impress me like it did others.
I’m hoping you’ll binge ‘Search:www’. It was my favourite drama of 2019. Hoping you’ll binge it and analyze it because I love reading your analysis. Or, if you hate it, why…
