I like the thought that the two actors talked before the filming, and agreed to do something together as couple. In effect, it made their heart gestures more of a “couple item” because even when they were just doing the “half heart” sign, they were really showing their unity since they decided on this beforehand as a couple.
Reserving the heart gesture for special occasions was a sweet idea.

Q: Why do you do your hearts like that?
H: We decided to complete the heart only twice.
R: At the press conference and at the end of the show.
H: Yes! Besides those two times, we do the heart like this (half heart)

I watched all the BTS and I was very surprised the freedom the PD gave to his actors to decide how filming a scene. All his actors were young and rookie but for example the scene where they dance in the train, he told them to discuss between them during the break how they wanted to do the scene.
Rowoon and KHY discussed a lot about their adlibs.
The idea of the half heart was cute.
It took a while for the full heart to come out publicly though they did it at the last filming. I think chasing bts for korean dramas make me attached to it, knowing the fun things and the light hearted atmosphere that happens behind the scenes. It is also no wonder why some people will take the interactions between the main leads in the bts and ship them as I learnt.
