Watched episode, was punching my pillow and thinking-SAY WHAT! (pardon my caps). Thrilled that you did this post @packmule3. Am calming down-finally.
Will now start viewing the Reply series and Prison Playbook-need to get a better understanding of this writer-plot twists, etc. And finally, will attempt to detox from bad shipping habit.
Phew!

😂😂😂 oh gosh! PM3, spot on! I am reading Warm and Cozy thread and bump into your post just now:
‘Even if Hong sisters bungle up this fake separation makjang plot, this rom-com ain’t gonna be as traumatic as the final goodbye in Casablanca’
The first thing that came to my mind is the bungle pd-writer did with that last minutes of HP. Haven’t watched Casablanca the movie but Casablanca the song is my old time favorite. Never fails to ignite the emotion in me. Unfortunately though, HP last minute finale has made me traumatic as hell. PG faking everything from day 1 is too much for me to brain. Damn!

Disgusting! Both the PD, PG, Writer !! Liar Liar pants on fire.

@pm3, the timeline that @miracle23 stated on ep12 open thread is detailed..

People of all faiths watch these dramas. That too on Netflix. The writer should have been more sensitive to religious objects. Even though we are not Christians, we still have a bible in our home. This was desecrated and the everybody from the writer, director, and the crew / cast – everyone is in the penalty box for me. If this was the religion that I was following, I would be totally offended. Just watching any religion being treated this way by the writer is heinous.
nrllee
Yeah. If it is true that Jang was the reason that JWon abandoned his priestly desires. She can have him. His character is not salvageable. His integrity has gone down the drain for me. Pathological liar isn’t one of the characteristics I want in a man.
angelwingssf
I think this is good enough. Just like some one who has done a henious crime is never put on a pedastal, so should this drama. And writer and director and PD too.
StayStill
for myself I lost respect and love (perhaps) to him as Andrea (his faith life).. maybe someone out there think that that is his ‘human’ side (*lielielie) after that ‘thorny path and not enough time lalala’ but still I’m sorry Andrea I am so disappointed.
But yeahh I still respect him as Ahn Jung Won ass.profesor of pediatric surgery. Love his dedication and love for his patients..
-I’m not sure. Sometimes I lie, sometimes I don’t – Ahn Jung Won (2020)-

@nrllee and all, I know the current fact is can be very tough for us to carry to S2 but I need you to stay with us next season despite it all😊 We shall suffer the idiocy of these pd & writer together 😂😂😂 and who says we can’t return them the favor. It’s purely academic on our part. 🤪🤪🤪🤪 We are bitches anyway 😈😈😈😈. We shall have absolute fun next year. It’s been slated for 2021 premiere on current poster. Can’t wait to shoot bullets onto those duo😎😎😎
P/S: @packmule3, would you like me to compile PG fake portfolio shot from ep 1 to 12 for this special end post of the series? That will be my last task as HP recorder for this season. 😊
Fly
I lost respect to the character. Fake-ass priest wannabe who lied to everyone and really think with his peen.
For now, he should leave SHwa alone. Don’t visit her. Don’t have any contacts with her. He is sooooo banned in my book.
Writer Lee, since you f-Ed up his character big time, get the band a new drummer too. Let PG drum GW in their own little cheese fest.
Ok I know that’s too mean but yeah, Writer Lee has to create magic to get PG likeable again. And you too, YYS. I know Chilbongie needs to get a girl in the end – but not by throwing all his integrity and flushed them into the toilet bowl over his peen thoughts.
I’ll watch Season 2 and skip all scenes with the cheese couple. Disgusting.
angelwingssf
@StayStill
— The last sentence should go in his character description.
Unlike the Jang fans, the Flower Gardeners never insisted that he dropped everything for Songhwa. We were willing for him to discern what his real calling was and to give God a chance if that would make him happy. Since it’s a three season show, we were willing to wait.
But this move of his suddenly made him a shady character. He’s dubious. I guess, the fact that he could
A. keep secret his real identity as a chaebol son for 20 years,
B. Hide Daddy Long Legs as his charitable foundation for 10? years
should have prepared us that he could have been lying about his wanting to be a priest for 40 years. 😂🙃🤡

In ep10. After he figured out that JWon was DLL, IJ said, ” you wicked, deceitful guy.”
We have been warned but we did not heed it!
Mayuu
I still haven’t watched the last ep bc i’m mad that they butchered his character like that…!!! i agree w SH now, JW is @$:&/)/ like he said to his mom lol guess best friends do know best. Also agree with other posters; boy better sort out his character issues before even thinking of becoming close friends w SHwa again; gosh, i can only imagine the disbelief and betrayal SHwa must have felt when she realized that he up and made a 180 pivot on his decision??? Like even as a friend of 20 years, that’s just really effed up!
Tin
He could have gone to the seminary and then realized later it is not his calling anymore. You could have loved the girl without abandoning God! God should be the center of your relationship! Phew!
011sn
They really shouldn’t assassinate his character just for the sake of romance. Yes pm3, we were all willing to wait after all it’s a 3 season long.
Okay alexa, play Fake Love by BTS
“I grew a flower that can’t be bloomed in a dream that can’t be true.”
lighthouse26
Like it or not, JWon needs to undergo a redemption arc (a phrase WGers despised the most, ha) for him to become a decent character again in S2. We don’t know his reasons and viewpoints that much yet, since this season was arguably not his. He lacked a lot of screentime and that explains why most of us are pissed, since there was barely any explanation to his actions, hence the absurd progression. We have to wait for S2 to clear the air. If the writer still won’t do his character justice, I guess YYS is just unlucky with his Shin PD’s projects. 😅
For now, let’s just focus on filling our time with other stuff in order to recover from this weird finale and don’t forget to keep a glimmer of faith inside of us. Who knows, maybe the writer has a surprise planned for us in the upcoming season. Let’s wish for the best, but prepare for the worst, too. Let’s keep a clear head until the next season airs, shall we?
Kanaya
Ohowwww… YYS is back portraying a villain.
AngryBee
This is repost from the other thread as req by pm3.
There have been hints scattered during the earlier episodes but we were unable to recognize it. We just saw the image that he wanted the public to see and that’s very scary. It speaks very much of a manipulative narcissist.
True, lighthouse26
Will be here next season. But this time, because of the ending of this season, JW isn’t going to be given any benefit of the doubt. He’s shown that he’s good at lying and leading a double life.
He did it when he hid being a chaebol son, and he did it when he hid that he was Daddy Long Legs.
And now he did it for the third time when he hid that he was attracted to Jang and used the priesthood as a cover-up.
“Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.”
lighthouse26
Ah yes, @packmule3, we shall not turn a blind eye. The most excruciating task right now is to ignore the overjoyed WGers, though. Sometimes they really, really get on my nerves.

Looking at this ship from the perspective of WinterGarden:
Tbh, I think Jwon does not deserve Jang. I hate saying “deserve” in a relationship, but he brings so much baggage into this WinterGarden ship. Jang is a 29yr old resident with bad empathy, but she’s not deceitful on purpose. If anything, she is super awkward and weird and EVERYONE knows what she thinks. Everyone knew she liked Jwon. And Jwon knew it too. But he stringed her along for the better part of a year while he figured out stuff. nrllee’s timeline depicts how much whiplash Jwon was having.
Now Jang is dating her idol. But, he hasn’t been honest with her until now. And he moved religion out of his life (or drawer) for her. He’s been struggling a bit with his faith. I hope she gets to have a relationship without his guilt coming in between them.
I’m ok with Jwon hiding DLL, because it’s logical. Hiding that you’re rich => a bit iffy. I hope we see get a better arc instead of the usual fluffy arc.
Also, just in general to put it out there.
Mentor-Mentee relationships have a lot of power imbalance. So do relationships where there is a large age gap (results may vary, but this is mainly because the older person is probably earning a lot more).
I am not supporting the Bear-bear ship too.Though Minha seems more experienced and mature, so with a good arc it might be salvageable.
nrllee
😂 the kiss scene just reminds me of this scene with Fiona and Shrek after he rescues her from the tower and dragon. “How will you kiss me?” 😂😂. It’s straight out of a Disney Princess formula.
Maybe he also hid his feeling to songhwa (?) since college (description character: he has first love in early 20s) and covered by attracted Jang now. Aigoo~ prepare well WG 😏. Everything can happen.
I’m not so sure I’d call it “manipulative” and “narcissistic.” 🙂 He lied about being a chaebol kid because he did NOT want to be fussed about since he was rich. Same thing with the DDL program. He hid it because he didn’t want himself to be the focus of attention. So I don’t think he’s narcissistic.
But he can be secretive. There’s a lack of openness and sincerity here.
As JWan said at JW’s father’s funeral, they’ve been friends for 20 years. At what point in their friendship was he going to tell them who he really was? Was hiding his chaebol-ness a reflection on how JW viewed their friendship? That they couldn’t be trusted to treat him as an ordinary guy? Did he think they would mooch off of him?
Same with DDL program. Sure, he wanted it private. But if you were his close friend, you’d start questioning what ELSE was he lying about. I think I would question his sincerity.
lighthouse26
@toc7 thanks for making me see it in a new light. However, I like the way SH responded to Minha. He’s firm, sure of himself, doesn’t lead her on, yet still respectful and nice. I respect that man, he’s actually one of my favorite personalities.
Fly
He has trust issues – because he too, cannot be trusted.
Wow I’m really slaying his character right now. Felt so cheated in S1. What a villain.
That’s it! Thanks, Fly! He has trust issues. And I remember that boardroom scene with Director Ju when he signed off on all claims to be the Chairman. The Director asked him what he was going to do with money. and he said something like “hey, I’m a chaebol kid. I have an image to uphold” or something like that. I wondered back then, why didn’t he have to lie? He could have told him that he was doing it to fund a charity.
He liked to live a double life. Does it give him a thrill or something?
Fly
Yeah probably.
He has an image to be upkeep = his aw shucks goody two shoes, priest wannabe image.
All he did was for the facade, I don’t even know if he’s actually sincere anymore. It’s all an act – wanting your be liked, by portraying his oh jolly good priest wannabe persona. Wanting to be loved by all. Trust issues. Probably daddy issues as well.
“Like me like me liiiiikeeee me, you tiny people!” Ah yes, you paed surgeon.
Where inside, he is just as wicked if not worse, than everyone.
toc7
@nrllee: I think those last 10 mins were out of character for Jwon/Jang and the writer. I would love to see how they write their way out of the fallout from that.
We’ve been looking at Jwon as Prince charming, and while he’s not an ogre, he’s been shown to be deeply flawed. 😜.
@pm3 : agree. I still believe he’s a great doctor and possibly the most selfless chaebol I’ve seen in a drama so far. No narcissism at all.
But as you said, he’s definitely flawed. Trust issues – definitely. Is he worried that his friends will take advantage of him? SH knew because their parents were friends. But Shwa….she’s selfless. Can’t see her ever taking advantage of anyone. Jwan probably doesn’t care. And despite the many jokes Ikjun makes, I don’t think he’d take advantage of him or SH.
This gang is like the R1988 gang at least in that way. The worst you’ll see is that they’ll probably ask for an extra dish when it’s their turn to pay for dinner.
StayStill
@felixthecat
Maybe..
I hd read somewhere in blue bird app some WG didn’t care about his first love in his 20 cuz his first love can’t stop him from his priesthood *sigh* what they see is right now a win (perhaps)
I just assumed that JW’s character description alluded to Songhwa. 🙂
Fly
Exactly. He didn’t cry then, there didn’t seem a rush from him to see his own father. Daddy issues probably.
Crying for patients – I want to believe that he is sincere in caring for them (he’s a doctor after all), but overcompensating in portraying all these awww those kid!, that baby has a brother!, blablabla… he’s attracting attention to him too. He wants to be liked so much.
Maybe that’s why he wanted to be a priest – because he’s wickedly bad after all. And religion can ~cure that. In his big head at least.
But his family relationship is kinda dysfunctional — probably because of Rosa? She didn’t try to hide the fact that she was in a loveless marriage.
It’s good that he had priests and nuns in the family. But their family dynamic seems to be cold and BARREN. Songhwa’s family dynamics (although she talked about having brothers who she had to compete with for food) was closer.
felixthecat
@StayStill
Yes, WG win for this season. And Jwon not deserve songhwa at all. I really afraid writernim do same thing to songhwa character like she did to jwon. And I think i should prepare well. I learn good values in this season, pd nim and writernim.
Fly
I agree. His family atmosphere seems too cold – with all the priests and nuns. Completely out of place there. There’s no warmth there.
SHwa on the other hand, is sincere. Her family is just like an average typical families – moments with brothers fighting for food? Typical- maybe they are used to the rough outdoorsy activities as well.
Mayuu
okay, i’m more levelheaded now to think about JW lol. thanks for this thread!
JW might not have had the best relationship with his father, but i think he did respect him and his philanthropic tendencies to a degree. though i wonder if that’s caused unnecessary pressure on him as well? Being the youngest of what seemed to be a family full of selfless/other-centric people must have been difficult to say the least. the maknae couldn’t be selfish growing up bc he had a reputation to uphold as his father’s son, so to speak. maybe it really is his puberty in his 40s? lol if so, i agree – Jang was given the short end of the stick
Also Songhwa’s families go to other people’s weddings. Remember? Songhwa attended a wedding because that family friend attended her brother’s wedding.
Fly
GW hero-worships the ground PG walks on and thinks he is the beacon of light, the super duper perfect guy who will make everything better, and will love her with the fullest affection like how he ~loves his patients.
Well WG shippers better be ready next season, to find the wicked truth of their poster loverboy then. I used to think that the writer will write her story the way she wanted it (so that we’ll get to see the bitter side of life and relationships), but with immense ~love and pressure from WG-ers which will guarantee her and Shin PD a Season 3, I foresee a very cheesy mushy melo romance WG storyline. Which I will skip. I will focus on others and the patients instead.
Fly
Yeah! We can add that in, too.
Wow there’s so much to see now that S1 is over.
And for some weird reasons, I think Jwan is actually the nicer one despite him being prickly. He’s more…. humane.
AngryBee
@packmule3 I’m still calling him manipulative because he made us believe that he was something that he wasn’t. That’s manipulation for me. Or was I just so dense that I did not see the signs that’s why I’m now severely disappointed?
//because he’s wickedly bad after all. And religion can cure that. In his big head at least//
@Fly I also had this thought.
He’s convinced himself that religion is his only salvation that’s why he was holding on so tightly to it. I remembered IJ statement about the con, in order for the con to work you have to convince yourself first that it’s real. Maybe that’s what he’s been doing all those years?
I’m really loving the vibe here. No hate just an exchange of ideas.
Mayuu
@Fly: i know this blog talked about how JWan was kind of a semi-shitty friend to SHwa for not telling her about her scumbag cheating ex and going behind her back to tell him off instead, but i think that was rather sweet of him lol. i think the nicest out of all the guys had always been JWan – he just didn’t like showing it too openly and was sort of brash, but comes from a good place! honestly he does seem the closest w SHwa (outside of JW, but i’m bitter about his fakeness lol) and my favourite friendship dynamic between all five is those two lol
While I was on this ship, I loved all the characters. Well..most of them anyway. I esp loved the lacking five. What I wanted from this drama was realistic relationships.
I think the way the writer handled Jwons story wasn’t to MY liking. As a viewer holding this writer to high standards, if WG had to ship I would’ve loved the flashbacks this season, and Jwon deciding to stay. I think maybe if the dates were more obvious, it would be clearer -> character suffered from poor writing
I loved how Chihong was direct and confessed to Shwa. But then he started over stepping and I don’t like him anymore. -> character disliked due to writing (maybe we’re me at to dislike this character)
I liked Ikjun and he became a meddler (with good reason it turns out). I still feel like the character is very flawed, but the writer chose to make his character seem delusional when IJ clearly knew something we didn’t. -> character suffered from poor writing
SH/Jwan and Shwa have been the same from beginning to end. Yes. We found out Jwan is a marshmallow, and SH is someone who cares more than he let’s on, and that Shwa is a micromanager, but these are not major revelations and fit the characters.
In R1988, we knew there was a kiss. We didn’t know it was a dream. We knew Deoksun liked or rather liked being chased by Sunwoo/Jungpal. I am even perfectly willing to believe she even might have liked Jungpal at some point if someone tells me. But we had all the info. We knew what the boys thought. We knew that Deoksun was pretending to limp /was disappointed at Taek canceling date. As viewers, we were not been deceived. Any flashbacks happened soon, and within a couple of episodes.
A flashback to add extra context to a decision taken makes sense. A turning point being shown entirely in flashback feels like a cheap trick. It feels like we’ve been denied seeing Jwon’s struggle. If the story had said, Jwon isn’t sure about priesthood, if they added a scene showing him admitting that he wanted the normal life sometimes, it would be ok too.
@Fly: I hope we don’t get a cheesy melo too. That sounds horrible story wise, and I think both deceived will suffer if that happens. Jang has already had her personal growth added as an afterthought this season, and I hope they don’t do that.
Kanaya
Thank you for the new light of JW. I remember when camera shoot the family photo closer; cold.
That’s why Junwan said kind of : chaebol is a liar, pointed at JW.
JWan had the “best” trajectory in Season 1 in the sense that his character’s transformation from Mr. Mean to Mr. Humane was a) very visible, b) gradual, c) reasonable, and d) guided by Dr. Do. We were shown how he developed from bad guy to good guy in every episode because Dr. Do would get on his case. lol. I like that relationship.
But as all noted here, JW’s transformation was rude. He just switched off like a light switch.
lol. Oh yeah. That part. Junwan did call him a liar. It’s making sense now. lol.
Mayuu
I agree with the above points re: mentor-mentee relationship – which I’ve been iffy about since the beginning of WG… you’re right, @Fly, Jang had a sort of hero-worship crush going on which will never really end well in a romantic relationship. it’ll be a nasty ride for WG, that’s for sure… JW has always been seen as a doctor who prioritizes his patients above everything – and i wouldn’t have been surprised if that was the reason his faith was shaken! – but i guess we’ll see how a romantic relationship will hold up to that prioritization…
i think about it with the others too. to JWan, whose patients are important to him, but his love for IS is definitely leagues above it. Or SHwa who has given up on romantic love (as far as we know) because her patients (and ofc, herself!) take priority. SH i can see is similar to SHwa in this regard, but it also seems that he separates these things entirely, or maybe even not think of romance at all as part of the equation for his time and effort lol IJ… i’m not sure. he’s a great doctor, but is he trying to convince himself that his family should take priority but his job actually fills up most his time? i’d like it better if he would go more out of his way for U-ju instead of whatever he’s doing to convince himself that SHwa is The One.
nrllee
@Mayuu that’s why it felt predatory? He didn’t even take her out for a meal? Or show any interest to get to know her outside of work? Does he even know she has a brother? What she likes (apart from chocopies?)? He took advantage of her at her most vulnerable? He didn’t even talk to her before he swooped in for a kiss? If we were against ChiHong crossing the line by patting SHwa’s shoulder, no wonder we are incensed with his lack of propriety.
StayStill
@toc7 I think he showed it before (wanted a normal life) but not openly showed it but his gesture in somewhere episode I think it was in ep 4.. when he met his brother in church. when his bro talked about he is not going on a date with someone and he denied (somehow I saw from his gesture he want one (a date?)) and he change subject with his recommendation letter.
Fly
I agree @packmule3 . JWan has the best transformation in terms of character in Season 1. His story is very well-thought, and even his conflict / issues with IS is well told. His character shines through this season.
Same with SHyeong – we’ll get to understand why he is as such. His mother, his difficult position with his dad, his divorce, Dr Bear. And there’s even room for him to grow in S2 as we see in this finale.
PG? He basically committed a character suicide there and then. He’s now left as GW’s lapdog.
OldAmericanLady
I think we may have to look at The DLL foundation next season. JW got Songhwa to agree to manage it. This is scary because JW had a way to find it. As a chaebol, I think,he called in favors. Will Songhwa be on the hook for funding? Will JW find another way to con a good person. And, while keeping his background secret, did JW feign poverty and not pay for group dinners. Also in one episode there was a thing about JW buying dinner for female colleagues. Could those have been scouting expeditions where the candidates were uninterested, ergo Hang being the last resort. In the last scene he had tears in his eyes
Perhaps he is a conflicted predator. Just a guess. The Production used the tropes of Christmas and first snowfall to make it seem all lovey dovey but maybe darker things lie ahead. We now know that JW is not a saint. Maybe we’ll see some dysfunction emerging. Yeah, he’s a great doctor, but something twisted may lie beneath.
Also, I take back what I’ve said about Ikjun-writerd are giving him good character development and he’s a great, caring doctor. And finally, Songhwa hastwo men that we know of vying for her, if not more, I have not ruled out SH either. And each has some very endearing qualities. So this fangirl I’d part of team Songhwa. May she get someone who makes her happy and cares for her as she does others.
Fly
Maybe he ~tried to change himself and convince himself by going to seminary? But well, his peen wins so yeah.
I wonder how will Writer Lee write or explains his character suicide, after all the efforts in saying oh hayyyyy I’m going to Italy, even making SHwa his successor for DLL.
It’s like an Eureka! Moment for PG.
Ugh I’ve massacred Ahn Jung Won’s character so much, I have no idea if at all this will be picked up but hey, if it is, have fun playing with the lapdog!
My faith that he’ll get redemption in Season 2 is 0.001%, since WG-ers will campaign for cheesefest McMelo.
pickleddragon
I love Jwan’s character. I’ve been rooting for him from early in the show! I think he’s the best developed character so far. Even Songhwa hasn’t had a true character growth arc like JWan has.
Unconnected housekeeping issue: @packmule3 – the tags for the latest few posts seem to be mixed up. The King posts are showing up under HP< and vice versa.
Fly
Ya – it’ll be JWan and SHyeong. At least their character transformation are relatable and they really came from a good place.
Fly
Re. DLL – yeah it worries me a little now that we know that PG is a sicko. And unfortunately has access to SHwa now that she’s managing that. Will he then be manipulating her into doing things she doesn’t want or something? Ugh I don’t know – I hope the story will not go down that path but his character has been butchered and twisted so badly I don’t even think he has anything good in mind much.
And probably going out with the others is his screen test – because he wanted his virgin lady. And ooh who could that be? GW.
He also mooched JWan as he lived with him, and basically being fed by his friends since he’s tight with money:
Sicko.
toc7
@Fly : If we get realistic relationship, WGers will complain about no romance. If we get cheesy romance, they’ll complain about lack ofcharacter development. If they get both, then other characters will have less screen time. 🤷🏻♀️. I think it’ll be tricky
@Staystill: I interpreted this scene as JW getting ready for the seminary and annoyance at everyone not getting him. Of course he wasn’t dating anyone. Clearly I wasn’t getting him either.
Fly
My bet? They’ll get both. More screentime given WG-ers are the ~anchor fan base. I want the story to be played out as realistic as possible but I’m a cynic, and given the atmosphere and reception to the finale, we will get WG WG WG’s Cheesefest McMelo.
That will support their bid for Season 3, and only at Season 3, they will have the storyline as realistic as possible. If they are still at their right minds.
toc7
@Fly: I really really hope they don’t do that. JJS and JKH have very large fan bases. Plus given that JJS is the huge star taking a pay cut, I don’t see his scenes getting cut. I’m worried that Shwa and SH will lose out :/ . Shwa will still get Iksong but might lose out on scenes since she’s in Sokcho. I hope they don’t expand the band to add more screen time for WG.
Fly
I hope so, too. I don’t care much about Iksong – IJ needs to have to deal with his son and the challenges as a single dad. That will be his story.
Near
I’m so glad for this thread. I’ve always been iffy about his character since episode one. Do you guys think the others in the group minus shyeong ever met jwon’ s parents during their 20 years friendship? Or do you think he ever talked about them with his mother at all? Cause rosa didn’t know that shyeong was divorced and ij married.
Au0101
@Near, I’m not sure about the guys but both Moms of JWon and SH seem to know SHwa well enough. They both want their sons to be with SHwa.
Looking how your comment about JW. I guess i will skip season 2. 😂
Unless Jungwan is new contender for songhwa 🤣
I know its small possibilities lol
I dont like IJ/CH, they treat songhwa like a game that they should win. Esp the last mins ep CH got Alot flashback Scene 🤦♀️
And in interview songhwa/ JMD told us that she still doesnt know her feeling about Ij yet 🥴 probably writer still keep it for mystery
That also mean everyone include interviewer know songhwa possible love line only – IJ.
I will busy with kim soo hyun drama on 20june.
So goodbye hospital playlist s1 🤣 My baby is coming…
M
I just had to get this off my chest. I wasn’t even shipping anyone with anybody at all. But the way they handled the WG romance was a real turn off for me.
If the PD wanted Chilbongie to get the girl this time, they could have shown us JW’s POV. Or they could have given us scenes that could make me believe why and how he fell for her. That choco pie scene wasn’t enough to convince me otherwise. Don’t tell me it was the maggot scene that did the trick?
PD could have at least waited for season 2 for the kiss to happen. They are gunning for 3 seasons so why rush things. With all the buildup about JW and his lifelong dream of priesthood, why suddenly make him act out of character? Just for fan service? To boost ratings? Very very disappointing.
miracle23
@packmule3, ladies and gens,
I have been spending time mostly asleep yesterday. I barely ate anything. I am still upset but more level-headed now 🙂 Well, that is how disappointed I am with what happened to PG’s character. And I am disappointed that this happened to YYS. I can’t proceed with this kind of mindset. I need to rethink and going into S2 with a fresh mind and few alternative thoughts aka bullets. Main targets are the pd and writer. Watch out, I will diss them for every blunders they make! 🙂
As I was going through the whole episodes and looking at his reactions and interactions (using a more casual but focused lens) I realised the signs that he was curious/ interested at Jang was there but very very very subtle and covered by his multiple denials (I will be using a different term now i.e. denials). These are what I have found:
1. He lied about Jang being not his cup of tea is the first denial to his actual feeling (i.e. he lied just like Junghwan did when he talked bad about DS) that is inside he is curious about Jang (ep. 2)
2. His face showed interest/ curiosity for Jang when heard she will be there attending the maggots, hence he followed Bong. Increased curiosity as he watched her maggot-ing (ep. 2)
3. He waited for IJ and glanced at Jang with interest as he was holding his phone (ep. 3).
4. He scolded IJ for the supposed scandal IJ is having with Jang out of unconscious jealousy/ concern towards Jang (ep. 3).
5. Concerned when she chased the abuser but moved to check the x-ray (ep. 5). Denied attention to his feeling for Jang and instead proceed for surgery.
6. Concerned when heard she got sick (Ep 6) (ran to ER as per ep. 12)
7. Ok with casual one-to-one dates with staff as long as nothing serious. Rejected Jang and lied = denial of actual feeling towards Jang/ doesn’t want to acknowledge his feeling (ep. 7/8)
8. Disappointed that she was picked by another guy. Realised he cared that she has a change of heart(?) (ep. 9)
9. Unconsciously looking forward to see Jang outside ER but covered with annoyance to IJ for the lie to trick him (ep. 9).
10. Steal a glance at her after she was dropped off at foyer (ep. 9)
11. Faking ignorant when GS celebrating Jang’s proposal but actually interested to know her choice of surgery and curious of why she picked his (ep. 10)
12. Can’t figure out if and how IJ discover his true feelings i.e. claiming IJ is a nutjob (ep. 10)
13. Prodded by IJ, it dawned to him IJ has noticed his feelings for Jang. PG finally acknowledged his feelings for Jang and the conflict it will bring to his plan (ep. 10).
14. Began to treat her casually using banmal to greet her but lied to IJ he didn’t say it that way (ep. 10)
15. More casual interactions followed. Steal a glance at her as she was reading the msg she received. That final glances as he saw she left after receiving a msg can be interpreted as what Rosa did. That he is growing on her and he was happy that he can act on it on the pretext of work relationship (ep. 11)
16. Still focusing on his patients despite Jang being around. End of Ep. 12 happened.
Did I sound like a WGr for the most parts? bwahahaha… no no no … don’t misunderstand me *wink*
So, I can scrap that last part of ep. 12 from my memory (even if it was a dream because it’s traumatic as hell) because of the blunder the writer has chosen for his character trajectory. It was a very very bad choice, a horrendous discredit to the religion and his faith at both fronts i.e. the actor YYS and the character, PG. The worst ever a writer can do! She deserved to be stoned for it.
As I replayed all these 12 episodes, I realised where his priorities lie. It was first and foremost God, his mom, his patients and his friends; and among his friends we knew who he prioritised and relied on. Jang comes after all of them. Pity, that. Whenever his patients are around he basically ignored her existence beyond who she actually is i.e. his assistant. She was just a resident to him at those times and his patients get his utmost attention, his E.V.E.R.Y attentions i.e. he took a rain check from that egg drop lunch IJ arranged and this happened in ep. 7 after she got sick and PG was shown ran to ER worried for her. My best bet is he went to see his patient (if we analysed it as such and I see it is also consistent with his character) or he lied to IJ and not going because he doesn’t want to entertain any romantic feelings i.e. mistrust himself, denial.
PG spent his most living hours with his patients. He is also a ghost. Just like YYS was called a ghost for spending many nights at his school and university theater. PG even didn’t take leave from hospital and forgot to eat. If he remembered to eat, we were shown he sought Shwa. When he wants to talk about matters of his heart/ his concerns, he went to Shwa. The amount of scenes they gave between Shwa and PG and the context of their conversation in ep 12 should mean something deeper is shared between these two. He didn’t even sought his mom for advise. He just went to her for approval. That is really following the office hierarchy, no? You discuss matters with your immediate officer. Then go to the top management for approval. Rosa is the top management here. kekeke
After picturing how good and nice PG was from ep 1 to ep 11, in ep 12 his flaws were shown in bundle and they blew us away. In my emotional burst I said she killed his character. She ruined it. And it still stands. I hate that she chose this route for PG. He so didn’t deserve this crazy shit. It was staggering to think that he abandoned becoming a priest for a girl.
NO. I will not believe that. What I saw after going through these episodes again was that he abandoned his childhood dream for his patients. His patients have become his new dream. When he has that heart to heart conversation with Shwa, he was pained that he has to let go of his childhood dream. It was guilt that he has found a new dream, that is being with his patients. That is when he is the happiest. Imagine he spent over 24 hours with his patients that makes him the happiest vs a few personal interactions a day with Jang that would *probably* give a different kind of happiness. Will Jang be understanding for long? Will that be fulfilling enough for Jang, who asked him to choose her and not God? Next will she ask him to choose her and not Rosa? To choose her and not his friends? To choose her and not his patients? Aigoo the conflicts!!! *devil laughs* I don’t envy your future, PG. I really don’t. In fact, I pity that you ended up having to deal with this in S2.
Looking back, even his siblings didn’t cry when their father passed away. They mourned him in their own way as befitting their positions. I think at that time PG acted similarly because in his mind he will also be a priest. Hence, he always carry the same mindset and behavior. Yes, I also agree he has been living a double life and he has trust issues which led and nurtured him into having that kind of life and personal conflict inside him. I stated before he was a man with many secrets just as Shwa was a girl with many secrets as well. Interestingly, he only trusted Shwa to talk about his secrets. And yes, @pm3 this part of him really alluded to Shwa. Actually, they are like a mirror in so many ways. I noticed this when I prepared the hints weeks ago.
The main difference is SHwa has a loving and warm family behind her and it influenced her growing up to be the person that she is. That under the table shots in ep 10 are like a sign of this mirroring. And he was a master poker face too in keeping his double life undetected. Just like Shwa in her playing poker face. Interesting to note though, each of them can read the other despite that. My only hope writer will not make Shwa’s character a one big trajectory blunder as well just like what she did with PG.
Jang really has no clue how this guy can hide his feelings whenever he sees fit. She was clueless before of what he was talking about. It took her time to process things. It was gonna be a one hell of an emotional roller coaster relationship there. She has to fight with Rosa, his patients and his friends to get to him. He might change to give her his attentions but old habits last. Especially when you are already 40 and he got those priorities lined up in stone. He needs someone who understand this and similarly share this aspect, someone on a level playing field. Plus Jang is not Ik Sun, a matured strong-willed woman in her late 30s. Jang is also not Shwa, a woman of a reputable career, full of wisdom and someone her friends, her colleagues, her staff and her patients look up to. So I am guessing Jang will find it hard to give him worthy advice or to be on the same wavelength with him. Ooooohh, this should be fun to watch and bitch about *devil grin*
Really, after my rewatch, I can’t deny that PG was a really good doctor. I can’t hate this character. He actually didn’t lie in most occasions that involved others especially his patients. He was being truthful in all other instances so long as it’s not about priesthood or his feelings or his secrets. In the priesthood case however, he frequently lied to himself and projected that to others such as the Director, his mom, the chief priest, his brothers when talking about it. He mistrusted himself and consequently he tried to build that trust that he is making the right decisions, so he keeps reiterating his choice, his decision to be a priest and denying what lies inside his heart i.e. his love and devotion as a doctor to his patients. He felt guilty that he has found a new dream.
Only when with his friends or other people outside the scope of his job as a doctor to his patients, he wears a different cloak that shows a different side of him. He is in denial for sure with regard to Jang. Should I like her or should I not? Should I act on it or should I not? Do I trust myself that I can give her happiness? Do I trust myself to be happy with her? These are the questions that I see him struggling to come to terms.
That kiss, *sigh* let’s keep that in our HP KIV nutjob box. If he is sooo head over heels for her, a true heartfelt kiss should be like what Kang Dong Joo did. He was also a virgin by the way since he only buried himself in study and practising surgical methods but damn his first kiss was nuclear. There! Shin PD, learn from RDTK PD on how to show kiss with passion.*snort* If look could kill, Seo Jeong has died and flew to heaven following Dong Joo’s intense look and passionate kisses. And Seo Jeong didn’t even need to confess!
Back to HP, PG is going through a change in his life. Conflicts and issues are bound to happen. This is what, his second relationship? First? We never know yet if he ever acted on his first love. So I am putting him under inexperienced 40 year old bum category. Shwa has been introduced as a relationship coach in ep. 12. Will he seek her advice in S2? Funny if he went to IJ, Jwan and SHyeong and ended up with 3 different answers that will boggle him further before he runs to Sokcho to seek Shwa’s help. My take is she will be the one to bring him to his true and right path on the matter of heart. She will be the one to help him repair that dysfunctional family issue that may unconsciously influence and affect him growing up. I even pray that SHwa will knock a bundle of good sense onto him for his blunders like throwing that empty water bottle on his head, hypothetically speaking kekeekeke. Flower Garden fight the way!
@pm3, let’s scrap the portfolio thing, sorry kekekeke… We need to remain sane and rational bitches going into S2. 🙂 I am fighting for YYS. I am so not gonna let writer and PD destroy him like this. It’s painful to swallow for us now but PG will have his conflicts aplenty under his belt to handle in S2. Again, I don’t envy him. For us, PG is now in a deep deep deep shit. Only the writer can fix him. I am keeping my eye on her. One error, I will shoot one round of machine gun. *flipped hair*

@miracle23 check my timeline and breakdown of that final scene in ep12 group watch post. I need you to correct me if I made a mistake on timeline. Thanks. I still think it’s wishful thinking from IJ’s part. If it’s real, and S2 says so, then I don’t know if I can continue. I am pretty sure FlowerGarden is still end game but to take this detour via Jang just doesn’t sit well with me. I am #NeverJang. And his deceit leading up to the kiss if it is real…he’s betrayed our trust and once lost it’s very hard to regain. He’s a pathological liar if that’s the case. And moving forward none of us can trust his words or actions anymore? So what’s the point? So what if he’s a brilliant paediatrician? If he lies to those nearest and dearest to him his integrity is questionable. It’s inherently selfish. He’s no longer just lying to protect SHwa from his mother but he’s lying to protect himself. Totally different.
miracle23
@nrllee, I can understand you. I feel the same way too as I also call him a liar for it and it still disturbs me that he lied that easily. When I rewatch, many instances the way he answered his questions, for example, Rosa asked “Not Shwa? Then who …” He answered ‘No, I am not seeing anyone’. Which is true. He has inner conflicts aplenty. He wanted to be a priest but in his heart he also want to stay with his patients. His curiosity and feeling towards Jang were in last order. His patients will always be first to him at the hospital. That last moment of ep 12 is a serious damning character issue that he has. What he did to Jang is unforgivable, knowing how innocent she is. That is why I want to forget that part. Else, I can’t sleep properly. The writer has ruined him for us.
Let me check your timeline. You know I agree that the working of the ep 12 is weird and messy. It doesn’t make sense to suddenly make him a lusty 40 year old man after he has confirmed to stay. I need to forget that scene.
nrllee
@miracle23 yeah you said it. Lusty 40yo was what I felt when he dove in for the kiss. He barely knew her? The real her? Not just the resident? It was just icky… 🙄. I think 011sn had a different time line for the kiss. I thought it happened Dec25 but she thinks it happened after SHwa and JWon talked in her office over coffee and spoke about the different types of people and before SokCho.
Sujood
I actually have a different point of view , needless to say , we know nothing yet for sure about what is going on on his mind , we don’t know why he canceled his plans , maybe the biggest reason is rosa , she is the reason he is backing up from his decision, maybe other reasons that we don’t know , also the kiss guys , the kiss was really sad and gloomy there was nothing beautiful in that kiss speaking romantic wise , he was not satisfied with kissing her , it didn’t feel right even for the observer ‘ eye , it’s out of shape and place , i do believe, he is still the same jw we know , just lack of information and details, the writer need to prolong the story somehow, and sometimes we need to be with other people in order to recognize the importance of others in our life

@Miracle23 Thank you very much for the insightful review of Jeongwon’s character. From the start, I never hate Jeongwon, instead he and Songwa are my favorites because I am amazed with their values and principles as doctors. I am just dissapointed with how the writer wrap up Jeongwon’s priesthood arc. It’s such really a let down for his character and his faith. There are 2 seasons left, so I don’t understand why the writer is so rush in mixing up his romance arc with his priesthood arc. Even Junwan, whom his character is described as “jerk”, can have more proper confession scene than what Jeongwon did. And don’t mention the scene of emptied drawer. Whatever your religion is, will understand that scene is such an insult to Catholic faith. The writer can create better methapora to show that Junwan realized Jeongwon has given up of his priesthood dream (as example, maybe create scene like Junwan accidentally see Jeongwon’s email of his cancellation attending to seminary). And Gyeowool’s confession… *sigh*… her confession seems so shallow. It will be better if she said that Jeongwon is an inspiring doctor, and she learned a lot from him to be a better doctor, and then proceed to say she loves him and doesn’t expect anything from him. She just want the best for him and then pleaded him to stay as doctor because she can genuinely see that it’s actually his true dream. This!!! If writer can build up the better proper confession of Jeongwon-Gyeowool, I can root for them.
But writer choose to create cheesy confession scene that made me can’t connect with Jeongwon-Gyeowool’s romance *sigh*.
As for Songhwa-Jeongwon, after watching Ep 12 in neutral view, I can say they are soulmate that destinied to not involve in romantic way. I love the unspoken deep bond between Jeongwon & Songhwa that both of them can understand with each other without saying too much words. It’s really rare seeing this kind of platonic friendship in K-dramaland. So yeah… I will still watch season 2 for the sake of Lacking 5 friendship and other characters. And I root for Songhwa’s happinness. Whoemever she choose in the end (so far Ikjun is the strongest candidate), I hope that guy can bring out Songhwa’s happiness (and please writer, do not butcher Songhwa’s character in Season 2 for the sake of cheesy romance).
As for Jeongwon-Gyeowool, I hope the writer can show more mature side of their romance in Season 2, so I can fully root for them (though judging by their mismatch personalities, I am not sure the writer can show realistic romance for these two. So yeah I set the lowest expectation that their romance will be the cheesy one like the cliche in K-dramaland).

30.11.2019 – PG surgery for ER kid with liver issue. Stayed overnight with her. Dropped by at Shwa’s to talk about DLL
01.12.2019 – 2 am when Jwan left and met IS; IJ and Shyeong went for breakfast. In the morning PG talked to parents of little girl, saying she has improved but has to stay at PICU for another night. 10 pm the boys had dinner at Shwa’s room. PG informed worried family of the girl that she can move to normal patient room tomorrow. PG went to Shwa’s room to eat dinner at 11.34 pm.
02.12.2019 – SHyeong consultations with pregnant moms.
03.12.2019 – SHWa talked to family of brain hemorrhage patient. Later that night PG at SHwa’s room discussing about his decision to stay. Talking about three types of people and relate to their friends (around 10 pm). When SHwa said PG is the last type he denied her view here. But it slowly dawns to him she read him right. IJ finished eating with Jwan (10.22 pm)
04.12.2019 – SHwa moved to Sokcho. IJ dropped at Sokcho before leaving to Spain
After 10 days IJ returned
24.12.2019 – 11.20 am PG visited PICU and checked on girl patient. Jang look at him from the counter. PG met his girl liver patient who already discharged. All other friends met patients on the day. Band practise at night.
25.12.2019 – 6.30 pm Jwan is leaving his room and noticed his nail needed clipping. Look for nail clipper, went to Jwon’s desk. Noticed the empty drawer. Left and received returned parcel (6.35 pm). https://ibb.co/gFB6bBN
PG returned to his room and prepared to leave. Jang came in. PG waited for Jang to say something. Then realised she is confessing and he sighed. I don’t know what this sigh means. It could mean that he realised he may now has to deal with his feeling, the feeling that he has been denying/ delaying to act on. It doesn’t seem like it give him any great impact when she said she liked him. He was initially surprised, he sighed again and then he lowered his head. He only gave massive tearful reactions when she begged him to stay. Like he realised how him leaving worried her that much/ that she has always been silently liking him that much (?) I don’t know. Maybe he realised this girl likes him that much and she is also growing on him and he decided to dig back that buried feeling and act on it (?) What am I even implying here!!!!!! hasgdysatgdrygasdha
Then IJ – Jang flashback on 30.11.2019, ep. 1 flashback first day at Yulje, ep. 6 flashback Jang got sick, flashback conversation with Shwa on 03.12.2019 – Shwa said he made the right decision to stay. So the discussion was mainly about staying for his patients or leaving for Italy. Seems like this scene implied the person he wanna tell is Jang. But he sure did delay the news. Thinking back, no. I mean from 03.12.2019 to 25.12.2019 delay to tell Jang? No. It’s Rosa. I think why he didn’t act on his feelings for Jang firstly, is because his thoughts were mainly occupied with attending his patients. Secondly, after that proposal thing he is sure she doesn’t have feeling for him anymore. So he buried whatever curiosity, concern, intrigue feelings he have for her. But now that Jang has cleared up on her actual feelings, he decided to act on his feelings for her as well. But really, his reaction is weird at best leading to that kiss. Like he was forcing himself to accept it and giving her what she wants. That double sighs are really… *shrug*
6.42 pm – SHyeong received msg from Minha and
6.44 pm – Shyeong received call from his ex-wife
@nrllee, it could be on the 3rd Dec or it could be on the 25th Dec. If the kiss happened on the 3rd, why would Jang had that sad longing look on 24th morning? Did he rejected her after giving her kiss gift? Did she realised his attention was fully on his patients? That he didn’t really see her as she wished for? If I were to look at this on entertainment-watch lens, yeah, his kiss is him finally taking action on his buried feeling for her. But I don’t know how deep is that feeling. Though his sighed and lowered head did indicate that he didn’t wanna face this thing or that he didn’t wanna act on it. The confusion on whether she felt the same way plus the many instances showing she has someone else may influence his decision not to confess. But when she cried and begged, he resigned to his fate. *shrug* I don’t know. I would love to be proved wrong in S2.
Didn’t we usually saw this kind of trope in other drama? The guy went in for the kill. Hmmmm, I rarely watch rom-com so maybe you girls can enlighten me. My only close one is Kang Dong Joo which is similar in that he only saw Seon Jeong at hospital. Never really knew her background or talk to her beyond medical. Dong Joo also went for the kill before he confessed. Different is the emotions that Dong Joo shows vs PG. Dong Joo has good progress in developing his feelings leading up to the kiss. It was shown. PG may have silently grown his feeling for her but his issue with becoming a priest vs the conflict with staying for his patients took precedence. Hence, he decided to bury his newly felt feelings for her i.e. he rejected her & chose not to join for lunch with her in ep 7 after concern on her being sick in ep. 6? All I can say is PG chose not to act on that feeling for as long as he can. Even after he decided to stay. And even if he has feeling for her, his work and patients take precedence, again. They always do. May be that’s why he sighed. He already felt the emotional aftermath of caring too much for his patients. Now he has a new one he should take care of. Will she be able to accept him for who he really is, with those baggage he carried with him? Wow, good luck!
Henceforth, for that last scene I am putting PG under inexperienced virgin ahjussi category. *shrug*
I felt like a broken radio repeating myself on that last scene. keekkekeekeke
Now @nrllee, you told us not to lose hope. I need you to stay with us 🙂 …hahahahaa… let’s analyse this flawed character that PG has become. We may have read him wrongly from day 1. He sure does need help in handling his inner conflicts. Seems like he has abundance of it. Mistrusts, denials, lies whenever those relate to the personal aspects of his life. He is messy when he wears his personal cloak but he is level-headed when he wears his doctor cloak. And he interchanged between these effortlessly. It has become a habit. Nevertheless, whenever he chose to open up, he talked to Shwa. Why would he do all these things to himself? Why did he let his personal life be like that? So far no explanation. Even when he met Shwa no dialogue to show the full discussion, what his explanation/ argument was on staying. It is more like he and Shwa discussed things on their minds. That high level of understanding is really beyond what Jang can offer him. PD and writer-nim sure did hide his POVs till the very last moments. Damn!
Ok, I need to eat something. I didn’t eat anything yet since I woke up and just had some water a moment ago.
@nrllee, kajimaaaaaaaayooooooo
FromFarAwayLand
Done with ep 12,they ruined Jeong Won’s character bigtime.
“His dream of being a priest even before his brothers and sister,he was shaken out of his dream of being a doctor but he has never given up his dream to be a priest, there is nothing as bright as a priest dream even the love that came in his 20’s and honor he got in his 30’s”
What happened to his character description? I don’t have any problem if he ended up with Dr. Jang, but he throw his life long dream just like that,. I cant see him the same way again,
pickleddragon
I have a question about the character descriptions for Songhwa and Jeongwon – they never updated those, right? Unlike for everyone else who got an addendum?
(*I’m still not watching*)
nrllee
Yup @pickleddragon they never did add an addendum.
The other thing holding me back to totally trashing JWon is SHwa. She’s the one who reads him best. Now if he’s a habitual liar and seedy, would she associate with him? So close? They had 20 years together? It would make her a terrible judge of character? She’s so strict about what’s right and wrong? She pulled Yong up for saying the wrong thing? She was firm with ChiHong. She’s never put a foot wrong. Would she associate with JWon (and so closely) if his character was shady? She would be smacking him like she does IJ? And telling him off for lying? She wouldn’t be “impressed” by him even with his DLL program? Would she not be totally flabbergasted if he turned out to be a pathological liar? All these 20 years she trusted him? She never caught on that he wasn’t honest?
Nope. No update on character description. Maybe next week. PG has yet called her affectionately. So Jang’s character description can’t be updated to say otherwise. If they didn’t add addendum to PG’s character now on his staying and his moved to accept Jang, maybe they will do it when S2 started.
Thanks for this timeline, miracle23. It makes more sense now that you’ve had it down sequentially. 🙂
Aaazzz
About the Gyeoul ER scene – it is shown in the flashback that Jwon did go to the ER right after Minha left the table (presumably to visit Gyeoul). So when Jwon arrived at the ER, was Minha inside already? And did she not hear him conversing with the nurse outside? Because she told Gyeoul in ep 6 that if he liked her, he would have visited. Or maybe they were sufficiently far away so that Minha couldn’t hear them.
miracle23
What I noticed @packmule3, they sure did give a lot of clear shots on the dates and times in ep. 12. But I can barely work with the timeline for ep. 10 and 11 without massive estimates.
I will get the timeline for ep. 11 and 12 done later today and send to you. The hint files will be kept as it is until I see another glimmer of hope for PG in S2. For now he requires a massive rework before I can start placing him next to Shwa again. There should be an explanation for these. I hope Shwa can help him. Because right now she is the only one who understands him and trusts him and vice versa. She didn’t call him a liar like the boys did. Jwan called him a lying rich people for not telling his being a rich kid but PG really doesn’t have that much money. Choosing not telling vs choosing to lie show he indeed has trust and various inner self issues esp when discussing his personal concerns with the boys. He didn’t trust them enough to discuss about it i.e. they knew about his plan accidentally, not him telling them. He is only willing to let them know of his final decisions. But he seeks Shwa when he needs to talk. And despite this character flaws, Shwa listens to his advice. I don’t know what is gonna happen in S2 in 2021. In the meantime, I will focus on study and other things. 🙂
miracle23
@packmule3, please check you email. Thanks! 🙂
Fly
Love. She loves the guy. Simple, pure love.
And once one loves a person, truly loves the person, all she wants is for him to be happy.
If being a priest makes him happy, then be it.
If being with Jang makes him happy, then she lets it go too.
She sincerely loves PG. Too bad PG got butchered and slayed. And yet every other online places went all swoony and celebrated the kiss like the second coming of John Lennon. 1 million views on Naver apparently- that’s Shin PD’s and Writer Lee’s insurance policies right there.
miracle23
Yes, Fly she loves him. Hence that OST in ep. 11. See how bright she smiles looking at him, listening to him. It hurts so much to see her like that. I don’t think they ever act on their first love. I hope we are not trolled by that abuser chase scene. He needed to fall to climb back to her but seriously, he fell too deep in that ravine. Will he be able to climb back? Tough. Very tough.
yodambo
To be very honest, I wouldn’t mind if it ended with a revelation of JW actually liking Jang because it still season 1 of 3 anyway. But what made me felt so cheated was him getting rid of all the rosaries and the Bible. I’m not a Catholic but I’m a Christian (which to me is pretty much the same) and yes, that offended me A LOT! Unless he wasn’t portrayed as religious from the get-go! Unless he was portrayed much like Rosa!
The ending left me feeling like SHwa might really have feelings for him which, and I would have been thrilled and more expectant for the coming season. But now, I’m not really sure if I want him for her anymore.
Still love the friendship of the 5 though.
One of the good things from the ending of season 1 is that it didn’t leave me on the edge of my seat waiting for s2. I will still watch s2, but at least I don’t have to anxiously wait for it. Ha!
angelwingssf
I don’t like PG for Shwa either. I would rather have a new guy better than PG who can beat the socks out of PG to become SHwa ‘s mate. I think PG can be with GW – don’t care. Since they trashed our hero to be bum and a scum, they can keep him. Also he has headaches and don’t know what the underlying issue is. IS it brain related. Will he have amnesia ? what ever. SHwa, you can do much better than him.
nrllee
@yodambo I think that’s what it is. Had PG been a Protestant Christian and celibacy not a factor in the equation and all PG was thinking of was leaving medicine to pursue full time Christian ministry it wouldn’t feel like a slap in the face to God? Because it’s Holy Orders he’s considering and doing the devout act and praying etc and stating he’s not interested in dating etc, he’s effectively “dating” God (until he gets married/taking Holy Orders). So effectively he’s cheated on God with Jang? That’s why it just feels so off. And yes to the empty drawer. I hated that. And I didn’t like the hand on her head thing (like he’s blessing her? 🙄) during the kiss with his wrist rosary clearly on display 🙄👎 – it was another slap in the face for Catholics. It was bad enough they were trite and irreverent with their portrayal of the Catholic faith with his brother eating icecream at church and cap on. I don’t know why writers think it’s okay to misrepresent faith like this. And then people accuse Christians of not having a sense of humor by taking things too seriously? It’s disrespectful? 😡
Maybe S2 is like the detour till FG and Romantic Winter happens in S3 (like Rosa and Ju with their marriages and then reunion after). Then they satisfy all camps after the full 3 seasons? Where both virgins have to dabble in a relationship before they find out that they really aren’t that compatible after all. 😑. PG was full on hormonal male in the final segment of Ep12. No thought went into it at all. Just a surge of testosterone. I am unsure if writer will have IkSong take a minor detour too in the meantime. I didn’t like how IJ confessed. It was cowardly to ask hypothetically. For all his faults Ahn was at least forthright and took his chances. All in. Like a man. None of this tentative testing the waters first before you jump in. The way IJ confessed is hedging his bets. I will wait for your answer when I come back? Like what? Way to guilt her into a response? Why is she the one to bear the weight of the decision? I will only ask if you think it’s a good idea? Coward. No. Do it like SH and Ahn. Tell her straight and trust her to deal with it rationally. She’s done fabulously with SH and Ahn? The way IJ did it only makes it even more awkward. Because it’s not out in the open. Truth matters in any relationship. Being open and honest is paramount to building trust. It’s the bedrock of any relationship. PG wasn’t open and honest with us his viewers so he’s lost our trust. And it’s going to be a tough crawl back.
Welmaris
Oh, how I appreciate this blog! Bitches don’t just dislike something, they carefully lay out the reasons why. Thanks for analyzing the show and teasing out the discrepancies in how the character of JWon was presented to viewers. I especially want to thank @miracle23 and @nrllee, but many others also deserve my thanks.
I don’t have new thoughts to add, but I will say:
-I will be back for S2.
-I can find a character’s actions distasteful, reprehensible, abhorrent, but I do not blame the actor (unless they knew ahead of time that the role they were hired to inhabit was badly written).
-I blame the writer for unsubstantiated, unbelievable movement in plot and character.
-Withholding information from viewers, and when that information is revealed, should serve a purpose. Mixing up timeline, putting in flashbacks, should help the story grow, not feel like writer/PD are covering their asses.
nrllee
@Welmaris yeah it’s never been about the actors/actresses (that’s where fan girls have it all wrong). When we dissect characters it’s what’s happening on the drama. The cast are portraying their parts really well.
Look at the kiss scene from Jang’s perspective. Up until Rosa pleaded with her (with tears 🙄) asking her to make JWon stay, Jang thought she had zero chance. She said so herself, “To Dr Ahn JeonWon I am nobody”. I don’t know if the talk with IJ straight after seeded the idea in her mind (that it was a good thing)? She was definitely in 2 minds about the whole thing after Rosa. She was troubled. She was not delirious with joy that she had an ally in future mother-in-law. She had already been unceremoniously turned down before by him. This would be really desperate of her to jump in again just because Rosa (and possibly IJ) think it’s a good idea. I think that’s another reason why it was hard to watch. She was groveling. It was undignified. MinHa didn’t grovel. She put it out there and left it up to SH. It was a desperate cry to “choose me NOT God!”. And PG didn’t even reassure her after that he had already made the decision not to be a priest to salvage her pride. He said nothing and just went for the kiss. As if to imply that her groveling worked? He didn’t stop her and say (this is how a gentleman would do it), “stop right there. I have already decided to stay.” and then hug her/kiss her (but honestly, that was not a first kiss by KDrama standards – that was a make out session that kept going on 🙄). He told SHwa there was someone else he had to tell before the boys could find out about his decision. We were meant to think he was thinking of Jang. He DID NOT tell Jang. Not verbally. He said nothing at all. Was his kiss meant to be his reply? No gentleman would do that. To allow a lady to grovel and beg. He would be the first one to tell her. Or at least stop her whole tirade mid process and take some of the weight of the decision. No, he watched her finish her full desperate plea – when she was at her most vulnerable and least dignified and took advantage of her. Ewww….🙄. That’s why it played out like a Disney Princess movie segment. How much lead up did Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Snow White have before Charming kissed them? 🙄. And it fits with the whole “Princess” backstory that we’ve been seeing between IJ (Mr Charming himself) and Jang (poor Cinderella). Jang leaving her shoes and running after the abusive dad. I think when IJ picked up SHwa’s shoe to “try on” is alluding to the Cinderella story. The glass slipper and him searching for Cinderella. It didn’t fit him 😂. So if writer is using Cinderella as a template, when the clock strikes midnight, we get reality again. The dream is over. Cinderella is back to her maid outfit and not her glamorous dress and pumpkin coach. Who is the Prince with the Croc jibbitz that matches her I wonder? 😂 We have seen the jibbitz for JWon. We have yet to get a close visual on the white flower like jibbitz on IJ’s Croc. What’s the bet it’s a snow flake? ❄️.
PS it turns out that first snow for 2019 did actually occur on Dec3 2019. I looked it up on Google. So when SHwa looked out the window and said Winter is here. She saw first snow and JWon was in the room with her.
“It’s a saying that if you confess to someone or being with someone during the first snowfall, you guys will stay together for a long time.” – Korean belief.
nrllee
PPS And MinHa with her fashion sense and make up would be the step-sister equivalent for Cinderella. Always putting Jang down for her frumpy appearance. Now all we need are the birds and rabbits and mice to swing into action. Is IJ her Fairy Godmother or would Rosa fit that bill better? 😂. Probably Rosa. She told Jang that Prince Charming would fall in love with her.
nrllee
PPPS In the original Disney movie…Prince Charming never did end up kissing Cinderella at the ball. They were just about to…and the clock strikes midnight…and she leaves. 😂. My theory’s kinda wild but hey, until fat lady sings in S2, there’s still a chance it could apply.
PPPPS 😂😂 O my goodness. Listen to what Cinderella says to Prince Charming in that clip. They don’t kiss because the clock strikes midnight…then she makes to leave and he asks her why. She says, “because I haven’t met the Prince” 😂😂 and then she scurries off. I forgot. I always assumed she knew he was the Prince? Dream over. Back to reality again after the clock strikes midnight. So JWon is not her Prince. There is another one waiting for her. She needs to find the man with the matching Jibbitz.

hello 🙂 first time, long time
i hope season 2 flashbacks will include the love story of JW and SHWa (if there was) and parallel that with the love story of JW and Jang. The flashbacks should convince Hospital Playlist audience, especially Winter Gardeners, why JW and SHWa should be end game so that when show decide to break-up JW and Jang there wouldn’t be any backlash against the show, the writer, director, characters, and the actors … sigh.
Thanks to Miracle23 (and she’s truly our miracle) I just discovered that the first snow of the season was on December 3.
That’s the night when Songhwa and JW were talking in her room together.
When Songhwa opened the window and smiled. “Winter is here. The winter we’ve been waiting for.” she actually saw snow flurries. She wasn’t just saying nonsense. She saw the first snow of season but the writer and director HID the snow flurries from the viewers so it would seem as if it snowed for Jang and JW.
Dang it. Darn this writer. I’m so annoyed with them.
nrllee
@packmule3. @hakuchi. Yeah. Problem is those 2 were already massively greedy ships even without much to go by. To feed them even more with the kiss is just asking for a huge backlash. I am not sure any amount of tending to the FlowerGarden in S2 would satisfy them to any degree. Even if they were to get Jang to turn the tide by saying her affections had shifted or would shift at a later date? Well, they should know what to expect. Their choices. They need to wear the consequences of a massive backlash if they opt to go with FG in the end. It would make all their hard work in the background pointless if so few of us get their main theme. Unless they don’t really care anymore and intended for it to happen like Reply1988 and Chilgbongie in 1997.
And this is not just one 16episode drama that is completed after a few months. It drags on for years…because of the seasonal format. Meaning the fan wars would keep raging on. It gets tiresome. Maybe that’s what they want to do. To tease it out so WGrs would stay on for at least S2. I believe the cast only signed on for 2 seasons so S3 is not confirmed? They will probably see how S2 fares with the backlash before committing to S3? And if the backlash is too great, they will just conclude the series in S2 and not bother with S3.
So just tell me, nrllee, when was the Jang kiss? December 24? December 25?
And when was the coffee talk between JW and Songhwa? December 3? Do we have any confirmed timeline. I got Miracle23’s but I want a second, third, and fourth opinion from the group. 🙂
nrllee
For me, I think it’s supposed to be 25Dec because it was jammed in there after the band practice on 24Dec and SHwa had that conversation about working over Christmas. And JWan said he had to go in too. So it would make sense that it was chronological. To tie in JWan and JWon together the following day. At hospital. On Christmas Day. The flashbacks are what confuses the whole timeline.
miracle23
I don’t see how they can drag this to S3 @nrllee unless they keep WG till end of S2. I think this time either they succumbed to pressure or doing it for the marketing or it has been their plan all along to create that big inner worst conflict for PG.🤷♀️ The worst they did by playing that horrendous joke on the religion. Maybe Koreans and WG are ok with dissing their own religion. We here sure are not. It is a big issue to play around with ppl faith like that. And yes, the actors are not at fault because they only got the script when the filming of the ep. started. The pd and writer are wholly responsible.
They have shown us in ep 12 that Shwa did has high affection towards PG. Not only that, she still trusted him. You know what? I even beginning to think she knows he is going through some changes in his life and she let him be in that zone to learn and get through it. And just like the song, she will not falter and stay as his anchor. This time it is his turn to falter. His turn to learn the harsh lesson life could bring. @nrllee, yes he felt icky to us now. For Shwa’s sake I am gonna trust her judgment on PG. The only way to live through to next year🤣🤣🤣
angelwingssf
It is nice to see that you guys are still working on it. Sometimes it feels empty. All the hopes we had even though it was small, evaporated away. I don’t even feel comfortable watching Warm and Cozy. That how I have become. Will hibernate for the time being. Keep writing – I will come and readd all the comments.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
miracle23
My main argument that the kiss happened on 25th was because:
1. Jang was looking sorrowful at PG when he was at PICU on 24th Dec. He totally didn’t look for her to either:
a. Invite her for that dinner he promised after the liver case patient got better
b. Or to ask her out to confess his feelings.
2. The scene of PH and Shwa was revisited following the other flashbacks of his. It was the last part of the flasbacks sequence.
3. When Jwan opened PG’s drawer, he was somewhere working cos no coat, pc still on. When PG was preparing to leave, coat was there and pc was off. Still PG didn’t ask Jang out on a date and make a move on his feelings.
Hence, I strongly felt his confession to Jang was the least reason for him to stay. If he asked her out after he decided to stay, it would make him double betrayed his first dream because of her when he truly is staying for his patients. That guilt in his conscience is what make him not acting on it, it seems. That he will be seen as forgoing his faith because of her when it is not despite he has feeling for her. If that rumor is flying around in the hospital, I wanna see how he took it 😈😈😈 that in the end the devout priest to be changed and left his God because of his fling. Hah!
nrllee
The other thing I want to mention is that IF the trajectory for all the characters is one of finding love after a detour, then maybe WG would be JWon’s detour. Although I would’ve thought priesthood was his detour. So far, the various love lines eg Ju, Rosa, SH, IJ, JWan and even SHwa, we never get to see the past love line play out. They are always just there and then swept aside. There was never any air time spared. Ju and Rosa were both married and all we saw were the deaths of their spouses. SH was married and nothing shown about his wife. IJ’s story with his wife was one where she divorces him. Same with SHwa, Prof Jang and her broke up right from the start after his dalliance. JWan too with his drunk gf. The only focus of development of love lines thus far has been Bear couple, Dove couple, Ju-Rosa, WG and possibly IkSong overtly…and FG in the background. Will this duo put in a diversion for FG? I thought they would for SHwa with Ahn but they closed that door. And she seems hesitant to dive in with IJ too? Will they do that for WG just for variety’s sake? Or do they stick to the plan of no diversions till final end game. If so, then the love lines we see playing in the background since the very beginning ie Romantic Winter and FG will run it’s course with no diversions. The kiss is the anomaly. And it plays heavily on our minds because first kisses in KDramaLand almost always hints at endgame? Is that a given? Had JWon just hugged her or talked to her and held her hand it would be less obvious. SHwa planted a kiss on Prof Jang’s cheek in the car. They broke up. Here we have JWon kissing Jang (yes same name 🙄) on the lips. So WG will break up too? It would be horribly unfair for Jang’s character if she was just a placeholder for the real deal SHwa. Much as I am not a fan of Dr Maggot, I don’t think she deserves that label.
pickleddragon
They can potentially continue the show endlessly, like the PDnim wants to, by using each season to focus on different relationships. So they might move most of these five out of focus by end of S2, and give prominence to a new group of people/doctors, who will then take over S3. American style TV. I think that’s what they might also be aiming for. I don’t think I’ll stay that long for a ride though! A second season is just about all I can handle for now, and that is already testing me.
hakuchi
i wonder if there is any significance of showing the various places JW were standing/sitting on when he visited ShWa those 3 times they showed us. First, he was by the door. Second, sitting on the couch. Lastly, sitting on her office chair. Sorry … I’m still in denial but slowly healing my broken heart … lol.
Like everyone one, I’ll still be tuning in for Season 2 to support our main girl ShWa who is our “badass bitch in that fake ass world.”

Mido’s interview on last episode. She must have been surprised of how the 1st season ends too as she asked herself “This is how it ends?”. She added that it ends with “What should I do?” And true to her words, she was not given an indication of her true feelings towards IJ, so she can’t act to show she likes him when the script didn’t provide that narrative i.e. the canon scene when she gave him an interested eye that ppl thought indicated she liked IJ.
Anything could happen in S2. It hope it will not be sequential blunders.
Guys.. i kept thinking about this. How if Jang tell all the things about Rosa ask her to begging JWon to stay in the hospital of course including why she is fall in love with JWon to IkJun and then Ikjun telling JWon about that. Just like SongHwa said about Jwon like this “he is typical person that can be more happier is he sees someone eating happy” so lets say this Jwon know that Jang sacrifce herself to begging him because Rosa and also somebody (i think it’s Ikjun) he knows that Jang have a dream that her first kiss is in December. So Jwon give all the things what she want like just saying it’s just his present to her because she wants to sacrifice herself to make him stay in the hospital instead become priest.
About emergency room that she came to visit her I think also it’s him “feel sorry” to her because he knows that he’s to rude to her for all this time. (Because i ever do the same thing to someone 😂😂😂)
So for me the kiss scenes is just a christmas present for her (Jang). And also the scenes when Jwon talks to his mom by phone in the basement I think thats a moment after he knows from someone (still I think it’s Ikjun) that Rose ask Jang to make him stay in the hospital instead become a priest.
Jang body language is like “I dont’t know how to make you stay so I just compare myself to God. If you want to stay then stay if you don’t want to stay thats not my problem anymore as long i tell you this message from your “busy mom” and tadaaa she got a kiss from Andrea and the the way JWon touch her face and the way she looks her is like want to say “how poor this girl she sacrifice herself to makes me stay in the hospital by compare her to God because my mom” for his eyes telling this thats why he gave her christmas present “the kiss” the christmas present that she waiting for 29 years.
*This my opinion because of the date and our discussing in this comment and of course my experience as JWon and Jang* hahaaa
Come on guys one of us ever in Jwon position or maybe in Jang position ? 😂
011sn
Maybe they are still testing waters if they will go (again) to fanbase or (hopefully) stick to the plan (if there is in the first place). 😩 actually this is emotionally draining. Can’t believe we are tricked by the denial king jw or i just didn’t look in a wg eyes. Thank you miracle23 for your casual but focus observations. You did a great job! Maybe if i rewatch hp i’ll make a hundreds of hard eyerolls that i will see my brain.
So it really started from “she’s not my cup of tea”.. On the choco pie scene too when he’s acting cute, pouting like a 5y.o, he’s doing that for him to be noticed by jang? And the side glances too? *shrugs*. Guess ahn jeongwon is my least favorite character of yys 😅
Au0101
I still think JWon might stick with plan to leave the hospital and hence he packed his belongings: the Bible, Rosaries, the statue of Mary, those Piggies. And didn’t he also have a picture on the shelf before, too?
But I’m not sure where he’ll be heading to.
We were only showed until Dec 25th so far, and we are still uncertain of what he will do on Dec 29th.
Sayirp
You guys are amazing with your analysis. I’m kind of obsessed with this series and it’s hard for me to move on from that kiss scene.. After reading you guys analysis, I rewatched the episode and its definitely a puzzle that FG shippers only will try to solve it😁
In risotto scene, Shwa already packed some books from her desk – black and blue cover books.
In soul talk scene, we can see that books are still there on the desk. Did you guys notice?
Just email me when you’re ready.
No rush.
I’m off to bed now. 😂
miracle23
Ok i will send the updated one. Have a good night!😊
miracle23
What do you want to say to your character?
YYS to AJW:
It would be great if Jwon can make decisions based on his own desires. Rather than what other people say, making decisions based on what your heart wants. No matter what choice is made, I support and trust you!
@packmule eventhough im mad with the kiss and the flashback scene from jw side
Everything kinda not in their place🥴
Something feel missing in the story, doesnt really match with the writer pattern from her past project.
Ex: JW know jang has boyfriend. Why he kiss her? Even she confess to him, he should ask first.
The kiss kinda force, with tears. like he himself want to make sure something, like can he cheating on god? Or can he love someone?
Even though he still not in love.
The flashback where he go to visit jang who has allergies.
It was only one flashback scene 🤣
even dr ahn has so many flashback scene with his crush songhwa
He kinda looks hesitant. but it also can be double meaning, he always easily pity and caring toward other ppl, esp with his patients.
The one he really want to share his good news. Its obviously his mom. 🤣 The only one who want him to stop being priest
Why bother telling jang.. he is not even close with her. To talk about this. Idk if im missing something but he never talk this personal matter with jang 🥴
Isnt they only talk about patient?
Its big no! 🤣
miracle23
Yes, Au0101, YYS is known to be quite transparent. He has always be someone who will do what he loves. I think he cares that AJW can’t do what he wants i.e. be a priest. Instead he has to do what people wants him to i.e. doctor, get married, lead a normal life? Is that how YYS sees it? I pity YYS that his character has come to this.
Kanaya
YYS, please get better script for your next projects!
Kanaya
@miracle23 @Au0101 we all know that all casts don’t know where the story gonna be.
So I guess that was what YYS could tell so far about JW on season 1. He himself doesn’t have any clue for what will happen next to the character or why JW could be like that?
Even Mido said the same thing about Songhwa’s actually feeling to ikjun.
Kanaya
Oh, one more… yes he pitied Jw and based on YYS’ comment about JW… it seemed like he himself is on our side.
grace
Maybe we are being trolled by the writer…she gets her Wintergarden approval with JW-Jang kiss…and will continue to fan this excitement till she writes something convincing to turn it around, I hope!
Still feel something off with the JW-Jang confession and we won’t know it till a year+ later… it surely is a long cliffhanger!
Welmaris
As @Kanaya pointed out, the actors themselves don’t necessarily know how their characters will be presented in the final cut of the show. Often a lot of what is filmed is edited out…much of an actor’s work might end up on the proverbial cutting room floor.
I went back to Episode 6 and rewatched the scene in the hospital dining room when IJ told JWon that Jang was in the emergency room due to an allergic reaction. That scene ended with Min Ha leaving the table as JWon looked down at his food tray. Next scene is Jang asleep the hospital bed with Min Ha seated next to her, head resting on the bed. They both wake. Min Ha reports that lots of texts have come in, and many colleagues have stopped by to check on her. Jang looks at her phone and sees text from JWon with ^^. Min Ha dashes Jang’s (and viewers’) interpretation that receiving a smiley-face emoji from JWon means he likes Jang, saying if JWon liked Jang, he would’ve come visit her.
The flashback inserted into Episode 12 was filmed at the same time as the scene in Episode 6, or at least the dining room portion of it. In the flashback we see more of JWon’s reaction in his facial expressions, then see him get up and leave in a hurry.
The actors’ experience of his character’s reaction and emotions would be different than ours. Because of the editing, information was withheld from viewers…and then we were intentionally fed a misdirect in the next scene.
It may be that the script YYS received and acted in good faith is not how he experienced his character’s story arc. Editing–what was cut, and how scenes were pieced together–changed how viewers saw his character unfold.
The final responsibility for how the story is told lies with the PD. In my opinion, we were bamboozled. If the writer’s intention was for JWon to personally demonstrate concern for Jang, that should not have been withheld from us, only to be spliced in at the end. Makes me wonder how many other bits were filmed that we didn’t ever see.
nrllee
@welmaris see that’s what doesn’t make sense. If he liked her since Ep6, why did he lie and refuse her dinner offer? And still act weird around her? And only really think about taking her for a meal prompted by the anesthetist? Is P.D. trying to tell us he was conflicted and he had burgeoning desires for her which he felt he had to suppress? And was persisting with priesthood regardless all that time? And that it was after his talk with SHwa who “okayed” his decision to pursue Jang that he finally decided to “follow his heart”? 🙄 I don’t doubt that it could happen but going down this route would imply he “cheated on God”? His piety was all make believe and fake. It’s just disrespectful towards the Catholic faith. I hated how they had him look like he was “blessing” her when his hand touched her hair and they panned in on his rosary. It just looked predatory? Bad press for Catholics? It just wasn’t done well at all. No they ruined his character for sure if that whole scene was reality. Even if his kiss was the result of him bowing to Rosa’s desire and Jang’s desperation (hence the strange tear vibe), it just doesn’t sit right. That’s why even though we know end game is SHwa, we were adamant that he had to deal with his priesthood first and close that door on his own terms, say goodbye to the thorny path before taking another with SHwa. There needed to be a clear delineation so as afford the priesthood the basic courtesy it deserves? This way is just horrible. He cheated on his long time girlfriend God. The kiss was lustful. He barely spoke a word to the girl about anything outside of work? It was a make out scene. Not just a peck? What happened to getting to know a girl before you cross any physical barriers? Is she just someone to satisfy your suppressed sexual appetite? 40 years of longing? Even JWan and IS which everyone thought progressed really quickly started off with holding hands first? Wrong on so many levels.
nrllee
I haven’t seen Reply1988 but didn’t someone mention in passing that there was controversy in a kiss scene there as to whether it was real or make believe? Could this be a nod to that scene? I cannot believe PD Shin (and Writer Lee) would be so callous as to avoid all the things I pointed out above. Shin is a variety PD. He is acutely aware of what is good and wholesome. The love lines in Prison Playbook were all sweet and the girl treated with the respect she deserved. Like how JunWan treats IS and SH treats MinHa. Ep11 was all about crossing the line when it was unwanted and that was tame (hand on shoulder). This is crossing the line without any of the necessary signals to give the girl any warning. She never saw it coming. She went from I am a nobody to he wants me desperately (just my body not my brain mind you) in the space of a few minutes. He saw her vulnerability and took liberties no gentleman would’ve. If he’s like this with women I don’t want him working with children. Certainly not young girls. 😡
agdr03
Yes @nrllee, Taek and Deoksun had a kiss scene. The scene itself looked like it was a dream because there was a sort of mist around it. Taek asked Deoksun about it the morning after and she said nothing happened. But at the end it was revealed that it did happen. She got scared because things might get awkward between them so she lied about it.
I was going to mention this kiss, maybe the PD wants to hold on to the bigger fan base by putting this out there but only to be told that it is a dream in S2 as you said? That would be fine by me. It’ll be a total opposite of Reply 1988 then which will work and make Andrea’s character back to it’s proper place.
miracle23
There are 4 flashbacks after the kiss. Two of Jang and two of PG. Only one clearly showed PG’s concern towards her whereas the other one was more implied that she was on his mind. That last flashback can be interpreted in many ways.
Was he thinking of Jang
Was he thinking of his mom’s request
Was he thinking of his patients
Was he thinking of his sin of choosing Jang over God; his patients over God
Etc.
But the fact remains that his thought in that last flashback scene was implied. They gave us free rein to interprete it. The way I saw it, whenever I relate it to Jang, a lot of his acts afterward or even before don’t add up to tie it/ support it.
1. He met shwa on 3rd Dec. He wants to tell someone
2. Until 25th he never tell the boys. He never tells Jang. It defies the suggestion that, that someone is her.
3. He never acted upon his feeling after 3rd Dec decision. He was not showed to treat her for that dinner/lunch he promised on 29th Nov.
4. He didn’t even borther to ask her on a date on 25th Dec. to confess and let her knows that he is staying.
In many instances, she was really, always at the back of his mind. He rejected her after concern about her. He easily dismissed IJ’s suggestion that he likes her. But at that time something was on his mind. We are not privy of it. But he keeps avoiding her on personal level.
The way he behave from the moment she came in and he realised she wanna talk of something personal, I think his hand gestures, his lowering his head and his sighs, he was asking for forgiveness that he was about to make a sin.🤷♀️🤷♀️ This is really really a bad move, a bad choice of direction. They never tells us what he thoughts and they decided in the end without those, this is what he wants? Wow… just crazy.
By the way that ep. 6 flashback reminds me of PG running for his child patient who died later in ep. 1. See PD, what you did with this character? You add so many inconsistencies with previous story of his by adding that 25th scene alone.
Guess we will only know your reason next year.😒
P/s: I have sent you the email pm3😊
Thanks.
miracle23
@agdr03, I seriously don’t think PD can backpedal convincingly from that kiss in S2.
1. If he made it a dream in ep. 1 of S2 that large fan base will cry foul and it will affect the whole season viewership. Will he give a damn about it?
2. If he made it a reality, PG is ruined forever for us, for Shwa. PG will need a total revamp, a character flush which is equivalent to being dead and reborn.
With that last minute scene, PD’s whole S1 story on the 5 friends or even PG’s dedication as a PED are no longer a masterpiece. It was a sick kind of story on the part of PG and his interactions towards those around him. Has this been PD’s plan all along? Can’t he not see how wrong this has become for PG? He made PG a PED and then he made PG went for that kiss without even having a heart to heart talk with that innocent naive girl. Dude, one flashback is not enough. I can also say that PG is concern about her just like he his concern about his sick patients e.g. when the little girl was scared to get an injection. Did you see how worried he was waiting outside the ward? Having Jang there physically, and he was oblivious of her says a lot of where his main attention was. Aigoo… The inconsistencies that keep visiting my mind is making me wanna bomb my head. Urgh!
011sn
I think jw’s confession or heart to heart talk for jang before the kiss is not important for the wgs. The kiss is all that matters for them. 😑
011sn
“If he made it a dream in ep1 of S2 that large fan base will cry foul out and it will affect the whole season viewership”
You’re right miracle23, even the kfans want wintergarden. Fgs are only few compare to them. So i think the dream is impossible. Some of wgs also are saying jw is like mr.darcy who is repressed. 😑
Kanaya
Something interesting has pointed out by @lovebangwon. He kissed Jang, but didn’t he know that Jang had a boyfriend as rumored?
He could ask her first, “I thought you have a boyfriend?”
Jang: “oh, he was my brother. Everyone misunderstood.”
—-
But he didn’t ask her about it, then just kissed her hurriedly.
It was like he approved the action of cheating on someone. So now he cheats on God?
Yes, the PD seemed to make him into an inconsistent person; back to earlier episode where Junwan suspected Ikjun had an affair with Jang and JW came to talk to Ikjun about it.
So, to all WGers outside… is this what you really want for the perfect match?
Au0101
@miracle23, “The inconsistencies that keep visiting my mind is making me wanna bomb my head.”. I know! Tell me about it. Either way, Writer and PD can’t win but I hope they would care more of the characters than the audience. My wishful thinking.
agdr03
@miracle23, that is the question isn’t it? Whether PD will give a damn and let the large fan base cry foul. We will see which one he cares the most, Andrea’s good character or the viewership/money.
Though judging from what you shared about YYS’s comment on his character, it doesn’t sound like it. From a character who is the most caring PD to one who gave up so easily on everything he stood for because of a girl. A bummer and definitely an outcry. 🙁

See 011sn, *sigh* … it really doesn’t do me any good having remembered the whole series in my brain. They are warring with each other every single seconds!
Anyhow, now the situation has been reversed between Shwa and PG.
S1: We kicked off the series with Shwa enjoying having a relationship, dating. PG was void of that aspect in his life as he was busy with his patients, his DLL at KWMC. Both live their life separately i.e. Shwa in Yulje, PG in KWMC. Then writer ended Shwa’s romantic life as early as end of ep. 1/ beginning of ep. 2.
S2: We may be shown how PG will now have a dating life in Yulje HQ. Meanwhile, Shwa busy with her patients, study and DLL in Sokcho. Again, both live their life separately. Will PG break up by end of ep 1/ beginning of ep. 2 for the sake of consistency with the trajectory of Shwa’s life in S1?
Question is how long will PD indulge the WG? So far, Shwa and PG trajectory (minus that 25th Dec incident) was mostly parallel to one another. That can’t be purely coincidental. The fact that Shwa’s decisions were made taking into consideration his interest can’t be meaningless. She freaking rent an apartment facing the sea knowing fully well that is what he likes *roll eyes*
That 30th Nov. midnight scene shows she is not letting go of DLL.
That 2nd Dec risotto scene is definitely not a meaningless filler. The whole script about Sokcho is an indication of where her heart/ interest lies.
That 3rd. Dec scene shows she will support him in anything he does.
Those above can’t be just fillers.
agdr03
@o11sn, oh dear. WG’s are thinking Andrea is like Mr Darcy? No way! I’ve only seen P&P recently but that’s an insult to Mr Darcy. Firstly, Mr Darcy actually told Elizabeth how he felt before any kiss happened between them. Secondly, Mr Darcy is not a liar. Thirdly, Mr Darcy was known to be rich by everyone, unlike Andrea who kept it hidden for years that he’s chaebol. 🙂
miracle23
@agdr03, are we an alien living on this earth? How can they accept that kind of romantic notion? I know that this a drama. It was told to be a slice of life kind of story. But really, does this happen in reality? A lot of narratives that should be there building towards that confession are missing. And suddenly, poof! Kiss = I love you too! Wow, maybe this is what romance is to the writer, PD and to those viewers. It is a romance that lack context.
Au0101
@miracle23, I totally agree with you. Especially the DLL project. It is the connection between the duo and it’s their secret to keep away from the other three for now.
The risotto scene is definitely not meaningless from the start. It got IJ alerted. SHwa wasn’t usually concerned about other people’s portion but she made a point to save some for JWon. SokCho is the place where both of them can find peace. Another common interest between them, just like DLL.
The talk on Dec 3rd not only showed us how much she knows him but also how much he would open himself up to her. Not to mention the sharing of the first snow of 2019.
All those can’t be meaningless fillers for sure.
miracle23
If I wanna be a bitch to the WG @Au101, that 3rd Dec scene is also when Shwa made her move to keep PG by her side. She knows it’s gonna be a wait for her because she is letting him deal with his issues first, she is letting him have his experience in life. She is taking a lifetime insurance on 3rd Dec. I highly suspect she knew it’s gonna be first snow that day. Just as she claimed their orientation meeting in the shed a coincidence when it was not on her part.
Au0101
I love your idea, @miracle23! And we’re bitches here!
agdr03
@miracle23, we’re not the alien that’s for sure! 🙂 We definitely know the concept of love and the right one too. There’s no use as well in trying to point out the many reasons it’s not romantic because they do not have an open mind so it’s useless. The problem is they can easily accept this too in real life so that’s a worry.
It’s truly a pity how the ending was like this. I’ve never had a drama end this horrible. Oh wait, let me think. LOL.
Au0101
@agdr03, it’s still beyond me how easily those WG were settled with that cheesy kiss scene to end S1 with. Due to the in depth and heartwarming contents this drama had given us, it just bothers me so much that they ended it in such an incomplete way.
nrllee
No the dream is definitely possible. This is what PD Shin said when asked about Reply1988
Q: Deoksun chose Taek in the end, is it because there are changes in the later part of the script?
A: Contrary to normal drama productions, we have a team of writers working together on this drama. Every writer can express their views and I will choose ideas from different writers. Having ten people with IQ of 130 is smarter than having just one person with IQ of 200. However, no matter how many people there are working on the script, before we start filming, we will fix the main storyline. This is the direction that is approved by everyone, during filming, nothing is to interfere with the development of the main story. So, right from the beginning, we have already decided that Deoksun will end up together with Taek eventually.
The story line is fixed from the get go. Nothing is to interfere with it. Not fan girls. Not ships. FG is endgame. As is Romantic Winter. Too many clues dropped for it to be nothing. That’s a definite. Question is will he allow the detour via WG to get to FG? To do that would be to make WG a stepping stone. And it would be a messy detour. To break up with Jang and start with SHwa again. So far IkSong is still not happening (not from SHwa’s side anyway). Which girl would want to be a stepping stone? I thought Jang picked herself up well after JWon’s rejection. She stood on her own 2 feet. She did well, she finally became more than just a Sasaeng fan girl. Now if she carried on like she did in the last few minutes of Ep12, that’s a regression for me. She’s become this pitiful creature who had to beg him to stay. She lost her dignity. No girl should have to do that. JunWan didn’t beg IS to stay. He let her go. He let her make that decision herself. That’s dignified. You don’t coerce someone to do your bidding. That’s manipulative. We didn’t like Rosa guilt tripping JWon into staying, now here we see Jang do the same. Not on. None of the major love lines so far have had significant screen time placed on their last relationships. Rosa-Ju, both lost their spouses. SHwa-Prof Jang – broke up after his dalliance. JunWan and drunk gf, broke up even before we saw much of them together at all. IJ and his wife – divorced when she appeared. SH and his wife, divorced from the start. SH’s mom and dad were never seen together as a couple. Given this pattern, I can’t see WG being significant in S2 and then FG only happening in S3. It would be out of character for the PD to do this.
PD Shin does variety. That’s where his heart is. He is all for good wholesome fun. Have any of his protagonists in previous dramas been dubious sleazy liars? Because that’s what JWon would be if the kiss played out in reality. Even IJ with his penchant for mischief has a heart of gold deep down. Given the fact that there was a kiss that was controversial in Reply1988 (did it happen or did it not), I wouldn’t put it past PD to reuse that formula here to play on the minds of viewers. So I am sticking with my belief that it is a dream sequence. And the kiss didn’t happen. Just like the kiss didn’t happen when the clock struck midnight with Cinderella and the Prince at the ball (non-reality because Cinderella was not a socialite but a maid). The fact that the PD used cheesy background music for the kiss made it even more disparate with reality. He’s good with his music. If he wanted a tender sweet kiss he would’ve used a softer sweeter melody to set the mood. Instead we have a piece which sounds like make out music. 😒. Because if you look at the rest of Ep12, FG is moving along really nicely and gaining traction. Everything about them was screaming endgame…the secret looks, the increased couple time with mind melding (locking in for bassist-drummer), the talk about living by the sea as his dream, visiting her in SokCho in future to spend more time with her (and she sounded happy about it), her refusal to allow him to take back DLL (his heart) – shared purpose now. The kiss with Jang is the anomaly. So I am of the belief that PD will stick by his principles (of liking good and wholesome) and not ruin JWon as a character. So I am thinking Ep1 in S2 will replay that scene for us in context. And it will prove to be a dream/wishful thinking.
AngryBee
I just saw this on a Hospital Playlist fan page on FB. Clearly they’re WG shippers.
// The Swoon has now posted the Confession of Winter Garden on YouTube.
ALSO, for Reply 1988 fans. Try rewatch ep 17 (Sung Bora and Sunwoo on the supposed blind date with Trash) and ep 20 (When Taek proposed to Dukseon in the car with the golden turtle).
I’m still watching R88 and I’m at the earlier eps. so I can’t comment on this. What do you guys think of their reference to the R88 eps?
nrllee
@miracle23 I sent you something on chat.
miracle23
Well said @nrllee! I love the tone of your writing *hugs&loves*!
I am also sticking to PD’s words on the Kalguksu scene. Iksong can’t possibly be the endgame by IJ just being the funny guy to Shwa and by taking his seating arrangement alone. A deeper relationship dynamic like what shown between PG and Shwa at that scene is much more meaningful as indicative of PD’s future direction of the drama. If Shin PD is like Na PD in nature, he definitely wouldn’t give a damn what majority of viewers think. It’s his project and everything is his call where he has set everything in stone from the very beginning. That is how detail-phobic he is.
011sn
Right @agdr03. I can’t believe they had the audacity to think jw is like mr.darcy they even put the quotes of p&p with a picture of wg and their kiss. Ugh. 😖
agdr03
@Au0101, I agree, the whole drama was about the deep and heartwarming contents and relationships of people working in a hospital together with 20 years of friendship between 5 friends. I can’t answer for WG but that kiss made their notions real even if it’s so wrong in all accounts. 🙁
agdr03
I’m glad I didn’t see that p&p quote with a picture of WG, @011sn. Cringe!
lighthouse26
@AngryBee I might be the dense one but I couldn’t see any Easter eggs that might be a nudge to the WG pairing… what’re they trying to imply 🙄
agdr03
I love it @nrllee! WG cannot dispute those connections. If ever you win this, come S2, please please make sure to go to the other thread and say I TOLD YOU SO, ok? Just for kicks. LOL.
AngryBee
@lighthouse26 Right! Like where are the Easter eggs? Sometimes, I wana go, let’s have a face to face and show me in detail where these Easter eggs are? Haha
When I first watched that kiss scene I was so disappointed because it just came out of nowhere. I couldn’t even sleep properly because I kept thinking where the heck did that come from?!
Au0101
@nrllee, very well explained! I’m with you. Like I said before, it’s that cheesy window at the end made me think it’s an imagination scene instead of reality. I hope we are right but we will have to wait and see until S2 arrives.
@miracle23, I also believe in PD’s words on the Kalguksu scene. Plus that abusive Dad scene in which SHwa came out to claim the victory.
Kanaya
@nrllee @miracle23 well said, thank you, and it is always feel like a life jacket.
Still, I’m holding on to the “it was only happen in someone’s fantasy/dream’ could be Ikjun’s, Rosa’s or Jang’s herself.
@angrybee even WG appear on Pinterest: make me wanna spray disinfectant liquid 😆.
nrllee
@agdr03 Mr Darcy and Lizzie would say it’s unbecoming for a lady to gloat. One does not exuberate in the abject failures of others. A lady must aspire to loftier ideals. 🤣
“Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously. A person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity to what we would have others think of us.” – Jane Austen
agdr03
@nrllee, pardon, pardon me. 🤭 I’m just not as refined as Elizabeth. 😂 You’re right! Ladies should not gloat at the mistake of others. True too that to actually stoop to their level is not very ladylike at all.
I’ll try to behave. 🤪
nrllee
😂 I found the instrumental piece (the cheesy one) that’s playing during the kiss. It’s from Ep17 of Reply 1988. The episode with the dream kiss 🤣🤣. It’s the piece that plays when the episode 17 title shows up. There we have it FGrs. The possibility that it was a dream sequence is now official.
Taek was taking sleeping pills so he could’ve been hallucinating? The kiss then plays out. Jang was doped out on antihistamines after the anaphylaxis. One of the side effects is hallucinations. 🤣. Dream kiss.
Other things that happened in Ep17. Taec’s dad and SunWoo’s mom were having a meal (like SHwa/JWon sharing coffee)…and first snow happens for both couples (Dec3 2019 is when first snow fell in Seoul – that’s why SHwa looked out the window and said Winter is here). They ended up together. First snow is significant in Korean folklore. It indicates the couple who are together then will spend their life together in future.
miracle23
Oh dear me… you actually digged that music up🤣🤣🤣 kudos!!! 👏👏👏👏I also remember one thing @nrllee. When he asked who is knocking at the door, she answer Gyeowoori-yo (I’m GW). Since when she addresses herself like that? To PG until now she is always JGW Seonsaeng. He never yet addressed her as Gyeowoori. The way she said her name there matched Shwa when she said gyeowoori wasseo. I don’t know if this has any kind of meaning but I am putting the note here.🙂
Kanaya
Oh @miracle23 @nrllee… thank you so much for your great effort…
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ For you all.
And Coldplay “something just like this” for this moment’s soundtrack.
nrllee
@miracle23 I found it by accident. Because I wanted to watch Ep17 of Reply 1988 (@AngryBee mentioned Easter eggs so I looked). Then the background instrumental started playing and I started laughing. It’s too obvious and coincidental for it not to be deliberate. PD is trolling. There’s now evidence that the kiss may not have happened after all where there was none before, it was just based on a hunch. Then the other bits like first snow. And how Taek’s dad and SunWoo’s mom had cameos in HP and played husband and wife. 😂. I didn’t get the Easter egg with SunWoo and Bora though? There were a lot of references to wishes. On a shooting star.
nrllee
@kanaya is that the name of the piece? I couldn’t track down the title but I recognized it immediately when I heard it play in Ep17 of R88 😂
Au0101
@nrllee, @miracle23, once again, GREAT JOB both of you!
miracle23
@nrllee title for that episode is the irony of life which I think what the song represents. What if … what if… the irony here is despite staying for his patients, he ended up including Jang in it? Nooooooooo😱😱😱😱😱
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Au0101
@miracle23, the irony could also mean despite we saw JWon kissing Jang, he ended up being with SHwa! 😉🙄🤐
Kanaya
@nrllee no, it’s not. I don’t know the title of the song you mentioned from R88.
Something just like this is a song from Chainsmoker feat Coldplay.
When I hear this song I remember FG. So I cheered you and everyone here with this song as a soundtrack.
Ooooooo @Au0101, me loving that kind of irony! 😘😘😘
#becausewearesimplybitches💃💃💃
miracle23
@Kanaya, awwww thanks so much for dedicating an OST for us😘😘. Shall this be our official OST bitches? 🥰🥰 I have been putting it on replay… It’s a great song. Loving it!
Kanaya
@miracle23 @nrllee the song title… could it be “Some More” ?
Just checked the iTunes, but it doesn’t have the same intro either. Ooo what a mysterious instrument title.
Linnea
Hi Everyone,
After having been a silent lurker for a while I just want to thank you for all your comments and insightful analyses, especially of the last few minutes of the last ep. It was literally a life saver for me which let me finally bring myself to watch the ep with full sub. As you stated the whole kiss scene is so out of the blue, out of character and so without any bild up that no flashback can save it. It just doesn’t add up. Remembering the scene in the hospital garden when PG and Jang finally were talking comfortably and smiled to each other – but still a professional conversation of a mentor and a mentee. During the kiss scene no smile of none of them, not even after Jangs confession, instead of showing hope, excitement, or at least some expectation, PG is having a pained expression, teary eyes. This sigh in the beginning, like he knew exactly why she came and just had to go through with it. Than this blessing kind of gesture (or forgiving maybe? she said ‘I’m sorry’ to him so many times during this conversation)… And when talking to Shwa abt his decision earlier (?) he didn’t looked pained at all. To me he looked thougtful, but peaceful, satisfied with his decision and happy that his decision is going to make somebody even happier (it must be Rosa of course, because if he meant Jang, then why this painful expression during the kiss scene). To me there are just to many ifs in this development (or lack of it), to many holes. What if he told Rosa abt his decision after he talked to Shwa and Rosa was like: I knew you liked this girl, I saw you that day, you looked so happy. — What if PG got to know abt Rosa-Jang conversation? That his mother ha told Jang that he had feelings for her? Jang obviously didn’t know abt his decision when she came to confess. Would she dare to confess if Rosa didn’t tell her that PG supposedly liked her? Jang knew that PG was a devout Catholic but did she know (before Rosa talked to her) that he was planning to leave for Italy to become a priest (sorry maybe I missed out something)? I mean I’m grasping at straws right now… Besides, it looks like PG didn’t tell the others yet abt him staying, or did he?. On the 24 dec, before the rehearsal, IkJun told him: And your decision, we’ll talk abt it later. So did he want to know if PG was staying or did he know PG was staying and wanted to talk to him abt Jang: like, now when you decided to stay, you can get together with her… Or the whole flashback abt PG visiting the ER when Jang got ill – how come IkJun never even tried to tease PG abt this, not even asked where he went (after teasing him so many times abt Jang). PG left the table within 1-2 mins after Mina. Seriously, IkJun, no suspicions? Or maybe he suspected something and told Jang abt it during the sunset convo, right after Rosa, which made her even more assured abt PG’s feelings and willing to confess to him? I mean she didn’t ask, like Mina did ‘do you like me too?’ She asked him to stay WITH HER. Sorry for my long rant, I just had to vent my disappointment (bc otherwise the last ep and the whole series were just great)
Btw I don’t know abt Catholic practise in Korea, but as raised in a Catholic family myself, it strikes me now, how come PG didn’t spent any time with his mom on the Christmas eve? Not to mention, in the church (if he was supposed to work on the 25th and couldn’t attend then). Ofc the Christmas day is the most important celebration, but in my country, If you don’t have to go to work in the early hours of Christmas Eve, you just stay at home with your family and make preparations for Christmas. But maybe I’m just oversensitive…
Linnea
OMG, now I see how huge my post is, really sorry for that…
I am still coping with some fellow FGs on the bird app DMs, and still paddling the little canoe. I shared to them some evidence (if it really is 😅) building on that dream sequence theory for the WG scene.
Someone here (sorry, I wasn’t able to recall! ☹️) pointed out the window in the JWs’ office if it was really there, so I checked the previous scenes in the episode.
The scene where IJ was stealing chocolates/looking through the drawers of the JWs, the window could be seen clearly with the blinds down. This scene was in broad daylight and perhaps a few weeks/days from the WG scene. Theoretically, both JWs are always busy to even look outside or place the blinds up.
Also, i don’t know much about cinematography but JWan looking through the drawer of JWon was somehow a mirror to IJ’s scene, right? But the angling is different and perhaps the window was deliberately hidden from the viewers. 😅
Linnea
Ok, It looks that I still need to vent. Let me, as some of you before, play the devil’s advocat here.
I mean the WGs are sure their ship has sailed so lets say the writer/PD duo made it so. Why then not making it more obvious and beautiful. The IkJun/Shwa and JunWan/IkSun suspense would be still enough for a cliffhanger.
Theoretically, trying very very hard, I could understand witholding the information in the flashback abt PG visiting the ER when Jang was ill – for us FGs it’s totally inconsistent but for the WGs it’s a revelation they have been wishing for (I read somebody on Soompi uttering this kind of hope) – so ok, let’s suppose the writer wanted to surprise the viewers with this flashback. Let’s say this is the plot twist foreshadowed by Jeon Mi-Do. Theoretically I can buy that. But what abt the kiss scene. The Wgs are so extatic abt it that they cannot see how weird it is. But if the writer truly meant that ship to sail, why not make this scene more beautiful, without those sighs and pained expressions. Why not making them both smile, shyly or awkwardly, or just let him call her by her name and smile, just to make the skinship progress as it should. I’m sure the Wgs would be even more content. I mean this scene, as a romantic moment, as a confirmation of mutual feelings, could have been so much better. And why slice the episode so many times? So many people were complaining that the last episode was even more chopped than the previous ones. Why, why, why? If not to reverse it somehow or fill the missing spots in the next season?
nrllee
@Linnea I know what it looks like on face value. But think about it. Why would P.D. bother to use that particular piece from Reply1988 Ep17 during the kiss? He could’ve picked plenty of other pieces? There was absolutely no need to do that. It was deliberate and intentional. He put it there during the kiss as a nod to Ep17 in Reply1988. I skimmed through Ep17. A kiss happened in Ep17 and there was a lot of speculation as to whether it was a dream or not. The fact that P.D. has linked that HP kiss scene to this particular kiss in R1988 is him implying that he intends for us to speculate as well. Sure it may still be real but hey, all we had was a hunch before and contextual analysis based on what happened in all the other episodes. Now we have proof that P.D. wants the possibility of the kiss being a dream thrown in the mix. The odds have swung in our favour. 🙂. And first snow happened in that episode too between Taec’s dad and SunWoo’s mother whilst they were in the same room, just like JWon and SHwa. That was also the episode that Bora broke up with SunWoo? And Maggie and some other boy? I don’t know the context. So I think it signals the end for WG. I am happy with the breakdown of the episode. We’re definitely in the race still with P.D. backing us. Sure WGrs will snort at us and call us names and say we’re desperate but the evidence is there – cold, hard and undeniable. Thank you P.D. Shin 😂. We will have to wait till S2 for confirmation 🙂
Linnea
@nrllee Exactly! (Great job with the OST, btw!) So not only is the kiss inconsistent and weirdly displayed, but also there are plenty of – I don’t know how to call it – signs or hidden meanings built in the structure of this show as a whole and the particular scenes. We’ll stick to that!
nrllee
@Linnea I am not sure it’s the only time that instrumental piece was played in Reply1988 but it definitely was the jingle played when the episode title was shown in Ep17. Maybe it’s the one that is specific to Reply1988 episode titles. Regardless, it still shows intentionality by the PD so he definitely wants us to rethink that kiss. 😂. It was a serendipitous find really. I had no intention of looking for it but when it played in Reply1988 during the episode, I picked it up straight away 😂
nrllee
We (FGrs) were always going to be the long shot anyway. It was that way from the beginning. We thought we had a chance at being the winning team. The last few minutes of Ep12 dashed our hopes somewhat. It left us scrambling for answers. The links we’ve found to justify our position that it’s a dream sequence is clearly there. We’re still in the running as the dark horse. All hope is not lost. Thanks be to PD Shin. By the way, PD Shin’s surname? 신? It means god. 😂. Nobody tells God what do to. What he decides goes. No amount of fan girling or ratings etc is going to move him. We just need to find what his (PD’s) will is. 😂. Shin planted all those clues to give us an indication as to where he’s taking it. Still up to him of course to decide which way he goes, but I am happy with where we are right now. Quietly confident 😁
angelwingssf
@nrlee, @pk3, @miracle23 : you guys are doing a great job of investigating the 12 th episode. 👏👏👏👏. Some cookies for you 🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪 and something to drown it with without choking. 🥛🥛🥛🥛🥛.
From your analysis as I have read, it looks that PD is giving FG’s a hint that it could be part of dream sequence. I hope it is. He will have to explain it in S2 which is coming in December. Right?!
Having fun reading all the comments. Please keep up the great job.
almost finished with the post. having dinner with my hubby first. 🙂
agdr03
Well done @nrllee and @miracle23 for doing another investigation about that kiss. Thumbs up!!!! 🙂
There is an article from GW herself (Shin Hyun Bin) regarding her supposed romance with YYS. It’s on Soompi. I cannot paste it here. 🙂 She is pretty. 🙂
angelwingssf
Just checked. It is going to be in 2021. That’s a long way to even wait for it.
miracle23
@nrllee *hugs* Thank you. This is why we need you here😘
Did you girls read the actress interview about the kiss at Soompi. It seems like she thinks despite the slow build up of their relationship, it is finally moving forward in that they together finally are feeling the same thing😒😒… I have no comment at the moment on this one.
agdr03
@miracle23, that’s why I only said she’s pretty in person. LOL.
miracle23
@agrd03, my first impression / suspicion of her stays. LOL. I love Mido’s interview more. 🙂
agdr03
I agree. I like Mido too. 🙂
Kanaya
@miracle23 don’t worry don’t worry… still the actress “Jang” doesn’t know about where the future story may lead, and yeah, she’ll be there in s2 for a reason: for her ship would be drowned.
011sn
But..but mido seems like shipping wg 😩
AngryBee
@Agdr03. I don’t know why but I just can’t seem to like this actress. I can’t even look at her face for a long time that’s why when I see photos or articles about her, I skim away as fast as I can. There’s something about her that seems kinda off? Can’t put a finger on it though.🤔
@miracle23 What was your first impression of her? I’m curious.
I love Mido too. She is one of the main reasons why I was drawn to HP. PD definitely choose the right person to play SHwa. She has this charm and good energy about her that makes me want to watch her more. She draws people in.
I just finished watching R88 and if we’re talking about links between R88 and HP, I have one for you guys. During episode 19 the interviewer asked the DS and Taek when their first kiss was. DS answered 1994 while Taek said 1989, then DS asked that they be excused. They were later heard discussing the issue DS told Taek that he can’t say 1989 because she was just a highschool student back then and that it would ruin his reputation. “Hey. People think you’re Budhha.” Well, well, well, what do we have here?! 😏
011sn
Have you noticed the flashback is taken quite recent? Jw’s hair, when jang first met him and fell in love at first sight, looks like long also jang’s hair or bangs look like long? Do you think it’s intentional that they decided to insert/reshoot that scene to gain viewers or to service the wgs and to “show” that their ship has been sailed? The kiss really looks like an off-script to me 😅
Au0101
@daerli, that was me! Thanks for looking into it. I also went back to watch all episodes specifically looking for window in their office and found it. But I still think the outside shot of the window was very cheesy.
@agdr03, I read that interview last night too! I also don’t think as an actress, she knows much of what the plot is gonna developed. Or she’s got instructed to discuss only the drama as it was shown?
011sn
I remember that @AngryBee haha they also think taek is buddha 😅
agdr03
@AngryBee, I’m not a fan of hers either. I just said she’s pretty but not as pretty as Mido in my opinion. 🙂
Yes, @Au0101, that’s what I felt too. It’s more to discuss what was shown but not with any real ending because there will be another season. I’m sure she’s been instructed. 🙂
angelwingssf
OK guys and gals. New post on HP available. HEading there……..
I don’t know how to insert a ping.
miracle23
@daerli, good catch on the window blind! Really, daebak. Following your point on that, I went to cross-checked all 12 episodes and putting my findings here:
Ep. 1 – No room scene
Ep. 2 & Ep. 3 – Blind was raised up to the first window pane
Ep. 4 – No room scene
Ep. 5 – Ep. 11 – Blind was closed be it night or day
Ep. 12 – Up until 3rd Dec – blind was closed; on 25th night final room scene – blind was totally removed from the whole window panes.
Others can help me verify. Thanks! 🙂
nrllee
I don’t pay any attention to what the cast say. Except for things they already “know” eg when MiDo says plot twist. None of them have the full script or know the ending. That’s how this duo works. They did exactly the same with the Reply series. Cast are only given as much as they need to know to play out the scene. Plus for what’s it’s worth, unless they watch the drama and dissect it like we do (watching the episode multiple times and watching camera angles and noticing the fact that the blinds were gone – I mean who in their right mind does that? 😂. Yes we’re obsessive like that here), they will only see it at face value. So for the actress playing Jang, she will only see it from the WGrs perspective. Did PD tell her she’s slowly falling in love with IJ? Nope. He only tells her enough to get her through the one scene the way he wants it to come out. Act shy here, put the BTS coffee up against your cheek and look away. He won’t tell her, “look you’re actually in love with IJ here and you need react accordingly.” Kiss scene – you’re confessing to JWon, you waited a long time for this. Act desperate. Shed tears. Then act shocked when he kisses you. Keep eyes open and stand stock still till I say you close them 😂. Yes it’s not terribly romantic when any of these scenes are being acted out I’m afraid. It plays out like that.
On the contrary I pay a lot of attention to what PD Shin says in interviews. He’s “god” remember? He knows end game. So when he drops hints like the Food scenes are important. And singles out the Kalgaksu scene and says the relationships played out there are where his intentions lie, I pay attention to that and analyse that in detail. When he says the band positions are important and he specifically picked the band positions for all the characters even before they were cast, I pay attention. So dig where he tells you to dig. He’s the story teller. Go to the source. Don’t get sidelined by hearsay. Look at his past works to see what constants are adhered to consistently (eg first snow). Stick to the facts. Don’t get riled up by what WGrs say. Leave them be. It’s a long wait till S2. We’re in it for the long haul. I don’t even bother arguing with them anymore. They can’t convince me and I can’t convince them, so I walk away. Truce time now. It’s pointless till S2 rolls around anyway. Take a break and go watch some other Kdrama. That’s what I am doing until S2 comes up. 🙂
miracle23
@nrllee, true to your words I, myself can’t remember ever becoming this obsessive with scrutinizing a kdrama or even anything that I ever watched in my entire life.🤣🤣🤣 But honestly, having done it with HP, I found it gave me a variety of feelings and I am enjoying every bits of it. Kinda reminded me of those times when I was overwhelmed with reading and scrutinizing too many journals for my postgrad dissertation papers. 😅 The outcome made it all worth it!
I found a news where PD said HP is basically a mix story of reply series and prison playbook but on a different setting i.e. hospital. So WGrs should not even said it has no relation to the reply series. Listen to the Creator, lurkers! He knows more than you do😎😎😎
Mido said filming will probably start end of the year so we have plenty of time to refresh ourselves. In the meantime, let’s enjoy ourselves with our own current viewing pleasures and other favorite activities.
Cheers! 😊
Linnea
@nrllee some of the findings may be serendipitous but what I love abt this site is that the analysis are so thorough and all the assumptions so plausible. Of course we don’t know which is going to be true until S2 happens but all the speculations and analyses made here are such fun.
On another note, maybe you already discussed this, I’m sorry if I repeat it, I joined in the second half of the drama airing and had no chance to read every single comment.
I was thinking abt PG’s christian name Andrea, which probably comes from st Andrea(italian name)/st Andrew(English) also known as Andrew the Apostle. He was the brother of St Peter, the first leader of the Catholic church but some sources state that Andrea even followed Jesus earlier than his brother did.
st Andrew is a patron of several professions but also af married couples. There is a belief that on the night before his celebration day (which is on the 29/30 november) girls can predict through various fortune teller traditions if they’re going to get married (whithin the coming year) and to whom (or to be more exact what type of a man – like looks or profession – their future man is going to be). Of course this is only a funny fact and I know it bc the tradition is especially strong in my country (whicch is in Europe), and I don’t think the writer would reach that far. But I thought I would drop it here just for fun 🙂
nrllee
@Linnea this duo is meticulous when it comes detail and research so it wouldn’t surprise me if they used Andrea because of that. 😁. Yes we have a lot of fun digging for clues. It makes the viewing so much more interesting.
grace
@nrllee, on the song that appears in R1988 Episode 17 opening title, it also appeared in the opening title of episode 18 and in episode 18 when Bo-ra confessed to Sun-Woo. I’m still watching so I might add on if I hear the music again. I didn’t take note till you all mentioned about it.
Plus I also heard “Confession is Not Flashy” on R1988 episode 19, in the beginning of the interview of DS & Taek where they talked about when they had their first kiss. I wouldn’t have noticed the song if I didn’t watch HP.
@grace 🤣. I think the making out song is probably just a nod to R1988 (the jingle they use when they reveal the episode titles? I haven’t checked any of the other episodes) then and not just to Ep17 specifically. But the fact that R88 is the one with the controversial kiss (did he or didn’t he?) is enough evidence for me to say that PD wanted us to go there. Not all PDs like dream sequences. But he obviously has no qualms using it as a plot device. It would be a nice “way out” for him because he’s dropped hints about the possibility so if WGrs cry foul when he reveals it in S2, they’ll have no comeback 😂. I wonder if he will keep trolling them by choosing not to reveal it at all. And get them all confused by reverting the WG dynamic back to mentor-mentee (like he is with Bae) 😂 whilst at the same time building on FG like he has in Ep10 onwards. They’re already going wild envisaging bed scene and wedding ceremony. 😂 Yeah I couldn’t find the song title either. It would’ve been nice to know but not a deal breaker.
Welmaris
Speaking of Bo-ra, the events now happening in my country give me a greater empathy for her as a character.
grace
Thanks @nrllee, the controversial kiss looked a lot more dreamy in R1988 than in HP, even though I would hope it is a dream, it really doesn’t not look so, maybe like some of you said it could be Jang’s or IJ imagination. I’m sure PD is trolling us with all these references!
I wonder if with all the references back to R1988, PD is trying to parallel these two dramas, but like a Canon in D variation. What will be same and different between these two? It could also be possible that any revelation of FG will be towards the end of the drama like in R1988.
Phew!
Mr Troller! 🙅🏻♀️
Didn’t know Rosa was a fanfiction writer…
Let’s have a SNARKfest =D
FG= Flower Garden to FG= Fake Guy real quick
People of all faiths watch these dramas. That too on Netflix. The writer should have been more sensitive to religious objects. Even though we are not Christians, we still have a bible in our home. This was desecrated and the everybody from the writer, director, and the crew / cast – everyone is in the penalty box for me. If this was the religion that I was following, I would be totally offended. Just watching any religion being treated this way by the writer is heinous.
Yeah. If it is true that Jang was the reason that JWon abandoned his priestly desires. She can have him. His character is not salvageable. His integrity has gone down the drain for me. Pathological liar isn’t one of the characteristics I want in a man.
I think this is good enough. Just like some one who has done a henious crime is never put on a pedastal, so should this drama. And writer and director and PD too.
for myself I lost respect and love (perhaps) to him as Andrea (his faith life).. maybe someone out there think that that is his ‘human’ side (*lielielie) after that ‘thorny path and not enough time lalala’ but still I’m sorry Andrea I am so disappointed.
Disgusting.
@StayStill
— The last sentence should go in his character description.
I would add a phrase at the end before his name
— But I mostly lie and con everyone.
Good idea, miracle23. Yes to the portfolio shots.
Ok bos. Will send to you when it’s done!🙂
@angelwingssf
– nice one!
@miracle23
– I ‘ll watch the s2 for sure like I said before and I gonna enjoy the show in this canoe and sipin’ my tea 🥤
Hahaha. I like 011sn.
From FG = Flower Garden
To FG = Fake Guy
Or from hero to zero in 12 episodes.
😀😀
Who says we can’t have fun?
He could have gone to the seminary and then realized later it is not his calling anymore. You could have loved the girl without abandoning God! God should be the center of your relationship! Phew!
They really shouldn’t assassinate his character just for the sake of romance. Yes pm3, we were all willing to wait after all it’s a 3 season long.
Okay alexa, play Fake Love by BTS
“I grew a flower that can’t be bloomed in a dream that can’t be true.”
Ohowwww… YYS is back portraying a villain.
😂 the kiss scene just reminds me of this scene with Fiona and Shrek after he rescues her from the tower and dragon. “How will you kiss me?” 😂😂. It’s straight out of a Disney Princess formula.
https://youtu.be/8nY-02E5jEU
@toc7 thanks for making me see it in a new light. However, I like the way SH responded to Minha. He’s firm, sure of himself, doesn’t lead her on, yet still respectful and nice. I respect that man, he’s actually one of my favorite personalities.
Yeah probably.
He has an image to be upkeep = his aw shucks goody two shoes, priest wannabe image.
All he did was for the facade, I don’t even know if he’s actually sincere anymore. It’s all an act – wanting your be liked, by portraying his oh jolly good priest wannabe persona. Wanting to be loved by all. Trust issues. Probably daddy issues as well.
“Like me like me liiiiikeeee me, you tiny people!” Ah yes, you paed surgeon.
Where inside, he is just as wicked if not worse, than everyone.
@felixthecat
Maybe..
I hd read somewhere in blue bird app some WG didn’t care about his first love in his 20 cuz his first love can’t stop him from his priesthood *sigh* what they see is right now a win (perhaps)
And that was weird, too. He didn’t cry at his father’s funeral. His dad was in a coma, you’d think that he’d rush over there.
He even told his hyung/priest, the his father passed away but he didn’t shed a tear. But he would cry for all his patients
I just assumed that JW’s character description alluded to Songhwa. 🙂
I think he’s a sincere pediatrician.
@StayStill
Yes, WG win for this season. And Jwon not deserve songhwa at all. I really afraid writernim do same thing to songhwa character like she did to jwon. And I think i should prepare well. I learn good values in this season, pd nim and writernim.
I agree. His family atmosphere seems too cold – with all the priests and nuns. Completely out of place there. There’s no warmth there.
SHwa on the other hand, is sincere. Her family is just like an average typical families – moments with brothers fighting for food? Typical- maybe they are used to the rough outdoorsy activities as well.
okay, i’m more levelheaded now to think about JW lol. thanks for this thread!
Yeah! We can add that in, too.
Wow there’s so much to see now that S1 is over.
And for some weird reasons, I think Jwan is actually the nicer one despite him being prickly. He’s more…. humane.
Yes, I agree on the manipulative part.
@felixthecat: THIS is my major worry!
It’s making sense now. lol.
Ya – it’ll be JWan and SHyeong. At least their character transformation are relatable and they really came from a good place.
Sicko.
I hope so, too. I don’t care much about Iksong – IJ needs to have to deal with his son and the challenges as a single dad. That will be his story.
@packmule3, ladies and gens,
I have been spending time mostly asleep yesterday.
@nrllee, kajimaaaaaaaayooooooo
I cant see him the same way again,
I have a question about the character descriptions for Songhwa and Jeongwon – they never updated those, right? Unlike for everyone else who got an addendum?
(*I’m still not watching*)
She never caught on that he wasn’t honest?
pickleddragon,
please check email. Thanks. 🙂
@packmule3, please check you email. Thanks! 🙂
Tough. Very tough.
Ha!
PPPS In the original Disney movie…Prince Charming never did end up kissing Cinderella at the ball. They were just about to…and the clock strikes midnight…and she leaves. 😂. My theory’s kinda wild but hey, until fat lady sings in S2, there’s still a chance it could apply.
https://youtu.be/86ajIpziYYM
Hakuchi,
I know right?
Thanks to Miracle23 (and she’s truly our miracle) I just discovered that the first snow of the season was on December 3.
That’s the night when Songhwa and JW were talking in her room together.
When Songhwa opened the window and smiled. “Winter is here. The winter we’ve been waiting for.” she actually saw snow flurries. She wasn’t just saying nonsense. She saw the first snow of season but the writer and director HID the snow flurries from the viewers so it would seem as if it snowed for Jang and JW.
Dang it. Darn this writer. I’m so annoyed with them.
@packmule3. @hakuchi.
The only way to live through to next year🤣🤣🤣
It is nice to see that you guys are still working on it. Sometimes it feels empty. All the hopes we had even though it was small, evaporated away. I don’t even feel comfortable watching Warm and Cozy. That how I have become. Will hibernate for the time being. Keep writing – I will come and readd all the comments.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hah!
A second season is just about all I can handle for now, and that is already testing me.
i wonder if there is any significance of showing the various places JW were standing/sitting on when he visited ShWa those 3 times they showed us.

Ahh.. this timeline is so confusing
It was deliberately messed by the writer and @miracle23 found out why. 😀 so the endgame of SEASON 3 won’t be found out.
Will post later. 😈 But the Winter Gardeners wont like it. 😂🤣😀🙂
I’m excitedly waiting for your post pm3!
Wow I’m so excited 😊
Omo I am nervous pm3… 🥴 please check your email. I hope we dont make any miscalculation. Let me double check on Sayirp’s concern on the book first.
@pm3, @miracle23, I can’t wait to read your post! So excited and a bit nervous!
Ok
Just email me when you’re ready.
No rush.
I’m off to bed now. 😂
Ok i will send the updated one. Have a good night!😊
What do you want to say to your character?
YYS to AJW:
It would be great if Jwon can make decisions based on his own desires. Rather than what other people say, making decisions based on what your heart wants. No matter what choice is made, I support and trust you!

Hmm…… does this allude to PG’s feeling to errr, Jang? Is that what he really wants or what IJ/ Rosa wants for him?
@miracle23, I saw this earlier and was thinking of the same thing, too! Guess we will only be able to find out from S2, if not S3.
Its big no! 🤣
YYS, please get better script for your next projects!
Oh, one more… yes he pitied Jw and based on YYS’ comment about JW… it seemed like he himself is on our side.
Thanks.
Urgh!
I think jw’s confession or heart to heart talk for jang before the kiss is not important for the wgs. The kiss is all that matters for them. 😑
@miracle23, “The inconsistencies that keep visiting my mind is making me wanna bomb my head.”. I know! Tell me about it. Either way, Writer and PD can’t win but I hope they would care more of the characters than the audience. My wishful thinking.
I love your idea, @miracle23! And we’re bitches here!
LOL.
@agdr03, it’s still beyond me how easily those WG were settled with that cheesy kiss scene to end S1 with. Due to the in depth and heartwarming contents this drama had given us, it just bothers me so much that they ended it in such an incomplete way.
#EasterEggs 😉

I’m still watching R88 and I’m at the earlier eps. so I can’t comment on this. What do you guys think of their reference to the R88 eps?
@miracle23 I sent you something on chat.
Right @agdr03. I can’t believe they had the audacity to think jw is like mr.darcy they even put the quotes of p&p with a picture of wg and their kiss. Ugh. 😖
@Au0101, I agree, the whole drama was about the deep and heartwarming contents and relationships of people working in a hospital together with 20 years of friendship between 5 friends. I can’t answer for WG but that kiss made their notions real even if it’s so wrong in all accounts. 🙁
I’m glad I didn’t see that p&p quote with a picture of WG, @011sn. Cringe!
@AngryBee I might be the dense one but I couldn’t see any Easter eggs that might be a nudge to the WG pairing… what’re they trying to imply 🙄
I love it @nrllee! WG cannot dispute those connections. If ever you win this, come S2, please please make sure to go to the other thread and say I TOLD YOU SO, ok? Just for kicks. LOL.
@nrllee, pardon, pardon me. 🤭 I’m just not as refined as Elizabeth. 😂 You’re right! Ladies should not gloat at the mistake of others. True too that to actually stoop to their level is not very ladylike at all.
I’ll try to behave. 🤪

I don’t know if this has any kind of meaning but I am putting the note here.🙂
Oh @miracle23 @nrllee… thank you so much for your great effort…
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ For you all.
And Coldplay “something just like this” for this moment’s soundtrack.
@kanaya is that the name of the piece? I couldn’t track down the title but I recognized it immediately when I heard it play in Ep17 of R88 😂
@nrllee, @miracle23, once again, GREAT JOB both of you!
@nrllee title for that episode is the irony of life which I think what the song represents. What if … what if… the irony here is despite staying for his patients, he ended up including Jang in it? Nooooooooo😱😱😱😱😱
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@miracle23, the irony could also mean despite we saw JWon kissing Jang, he ended up being with SHwa! 😉🙄🤐
@nrllee no, it’s not. I don’t know the title of the song you mentioned from R88.
Something just like this is a song from Chainsmoker feat Coldplay.
When I hear this song I remember FG. So I cheered you and everyone here with this song as a soundtrack.
@nrllee maybe you can check the song title here:
https://open.spotify.com/album/2FpnQNuokhERgvISQ5mmdW?si=cBaYoZGZSWS7953e8bJmBw
It’s an album of Ost of Reply 1988
Ooooooo @Au0101, me loving that kind of irony! 😘😘😘
#becausewearesimplybitches💃💃💃
@Kanaya, awwww thanks so much for dedicating an OST for us😘😘. Shall this be our official OST bitches? 🥰🥰 I have been putting it on replay… It’s a great song. Loving it!
@miracle23 @nrllee the song title… could it be “Some More” ?
https://youtu.be/lgnF_aE02Is
It’s Some More from R88 soundtrack ep.17.
Please check if it’s similar with what @nrllee meant.
I don’t think so @Kanaya. The music in that ep.17 used something like accordion or harmonica. 🙂
https://youtu.be/eitb-IlvZbQ
@nrllee this instrument called Butter Flying.
Just checked the iTunes, but it doesn’t have the same intro either. Ooo what a mysterious instrument title.
OMG, now I see how huge my post is, really sorry for that…
no worries. We love to read anyway. 🙂
@packmule3 thanks for the warm welcome! 🙂
Hello!
Theoretically, both JWs are always busy to even look outside or place the blinds up.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/11eEVEaTQiz6lwWw_mLC7Y7zcKU5Ytkkw/view?usp=drivesdk
In the WG scene, the blinds were up(or no blinds at all)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/11mMhT2SlQ11zXZ242h1RgciktLxWUYVy/view?usp=drivesdk
Also, i don’t know much about cinematography but JWan looking through the drawer of JWon was somehow a mirror to IJ’s scene, right? But the angling is different and perhaps the window was deliberately hidden from the viewers. 😅
What are you guys viewing next?
almost finished with the post. having dinner with my hubby first. 🙂
Just checked. It is going to be in 2021. That’s a long way to even wait for it.
@miracle23, that’s why I only said she’s pretty in person. LOL.
@agrd03, my first impression / suspicion of her stays. LOL. I love Mido’s interview more. 🙂
I agree. I like Mido too. 🙂
@miracle23 don’t worry don’t worry… still the actress “Jang” doesn’t know about where the future story may lead, and yeah, she’ll be there in s2 for a reason: for her ship would be drowned.
But..but mido seems like shipping wg 😩
The kiss really looks like an off-script to me 😅
@daerli, that was me!
I remember that @AngryBee haha they also think taek is buddha 😅
@AngryBee, I’m not a fan of hers either. I just said she’s pretty but not as pretty as Mido in my opinion. 🙂
Yes, @Au0101, that’s what I felt too. It’s more to discuss what was shown but not with any real ending because there will be another season. I’m sure she’s been instructed. 🙂
OK guys and gals. New post on HP available. HEading there……..
I don’t know how to insert a ping.
Thanks! 🙂
Cheers! 😊
@Linnea this duo is meticulous when it comes detail and research so it wouldn’t surprise me if they used Andrea because of that. 😁. Yes we have a lot of fun digging for clues. It makes the viewing so much more interesting.
Tried to search for the instrumental song title but I can’t seem to find it although I found one really detailed list of songs used in Reply1988
https://followingkpop.wordpress.com/2015/11/13/playlist-answer-me-1988/
Speaking of Bo-ra, the events now happening in my country give me a greater empathy for her as a character.
