Stalker piano lesson:
Rara was playing Schumann. It’s kinda fitting for this stalker. Schumann had a mental disorder. Some say he was schizophrenic, others say he was bipolar. He attempted to commit suicide. I sometimes regard him as the musical equivalent of Van Gogh, because Van Gogh damaged his ear, and he injured his fingers. The reason Schumann may sound familiar to some of you is that he was the husband of piano virtuoso Clara Schumann. If you just watched “Do You Like Brahms?” then you would have heard that Johannes Brahms was in love with Clara himself, and that there was some sort of love triangle going on.
But Brahms never acted on his feelings for Clara because he admired his mentor.
Schumann tried to commit suicide. He survived then he committed himself to an asylum. He died in the asylum.
Rara played (Pardon my german, I’m going to misspell the title) Faschinschwank au Wien.

This episode was very cute, but it seemed like a filler episode, not much happened apart from the fact that Dr Cha is probably DDSSLLS.
And looks like our gangster is soft/hearted because he looked very uncomfortable at how Jun’s mum was speaking to the elderly man.
Also is un actually younger than HY? Her guy friend said she’s 19? Or is that the Korean age thing again.

I’m a bit iffy with Doc Cha being him anyway, I mean I want to know what’s his real reason if ever he is DDSSLLS. So he saw Rara play and after seeing her at the wedding with news of her Dad passing, he just likes her? 😬

True! There was a pianoforte that arrived at Ms Fairfax’s house. Who’s Dixon? Was it the husband of her best friend or something? Emma and her governess were gossiping about a love triangle involving Jane Fairfax and her BFF?

I thought episode 7 was still good except I didn’t like the ending with Doc holding Rara’s hand 😏 and stalker telling Rara to play. 🙅🏻♀️ I thought Jun might have remembered the stalker but no.

The OST in this drama are great! I’m loving the songs, all catchy and uplifting ones. ☺️ The song that played when HY confessed to Jun sounded nice too. Hopefully it’ll come out soon.

and Harriet? And also Frank Churchill. The story that Emma concocted (?) was that Mr Dixon saved Jane from falling off a cliff or something in her previous place of employment so they were secretly “in love”. Unbeknownst to Emma, it was a love tryst between Frank Churchill and Jane that was the real story. Churchill egged Emma on of course in an attempt to get Jane to react. Never liked Frank Churchill. Always thought he was a rather “small” man (character wise) and all that time he was toying with Emma to get Jane jealous? But he and Jane did finally end up together (they had been secretly engaged).

The thing is when Jun thought of buying that piano, he only had 868,000 won but the piano was 1,500,000won. That’s why he couldn’t afford it.

I like the way he talks. Although I can’t speak Korean, he makes the language sound melodic. Normally, when I hear Korean speak, I think they’re upset over something or fighting somebody. The language sounds harsh to my ears.

Then, he does that “pffft!” sound.
And ends with “What was it that you even forgot to wear clothes?” as he wraps his jacket over her.
She doesn’t even notice it.

I think the sentence construction is inverted in Korean so if we were to translate what they said, you could see his mimicry better.

Jun: (copying her speech pattern and her lips movement) Go home, wash up, and sleep, I hope. Happy??
lol. See that? It was cute because he just tagged the “I hope” to his angry commands. He totally missed the point.
DDSSLLS was expressing thoughtfulness and kindness when he said “I hope” but Jun was being sarcastic when he said “I hope.” He came off as funny.

The writer is telling us that it’s Dr. Cha. But if I were the writer, I could see a way of twisting this to make it end up as Jun. But would I bother to do it? I’d would depend on my troll energy. 🙂

But they didn’t get married? The ceremony didn’t happen? So I’m confused.

And that’s why I think, agdr03, that the writer could still turn this around and make DDSSLLS about Jun. She likes to twist things in the end.
And re. the piano. Didn’t Jun chase the piano movers?? He asked them where they got the piano, right?
The impression we got there was he wasn’t the buyer. But if I were the writer and wanted to troll my viewers, I’d say that he ran after the movers because he wanted to know where they got the piano because it wasn’t the piano he originally ordered. lol. I’d say that they accidentally brought the wrong piano but Jun didn’t want it returned anymore. So he wasn’t lying when he said that he didn’t buy that piano. lol.
Do you see what I mean that a trollish writer can swing it around Jun’s way? There’s still an “exit strategy.”

And he’s kinda witty, too. I think he just wanted to know if she’d got back home safely. But since she was snippy when she replied that she was already sleeping (implying that he woke her up), he had a proper comeback. He was teasing her.

C. The stalker wanting to be treated as SPECIAL so instead of learning to play piano, he’s actually paying Rara to play for him. Like giving him a private audience.
D. Hayoung getting upset that Jun didn’t treat her SPECIAL
E. The ahjumas treating Rara SPECIAL.
And so on.

As for being DDSSLLS: if Jun was really DDSSLLS, it’s still possible for him to pay the baby grand. If he was paying for an upright on installment, he might as well pay for the baby grand since the baby grand was delivered to their house and it brought Rara joy.

I’m sure she won’t think to use Jaemin to lure more students especially after learning that he can’t read music notes yet but Jaemin is already special because he’s got a good memory just by listening to a piano piece. ☺️

I like how Rara didn’t care about the competition when she was younger. She just played it for her father.
And that’s why she’s been good at picking out the right music for the right person at the right moment. She’s thinking of the listener when she plays the piano.
Just like she played Mozart’s piece for her dad, she’s been picking music that she thinks would *speak* to the listener’s soul.

Nowadays, though, there are ways to ask a boy out on dates…at least for high school kids here in the US.
There are “Sadie Hawkins” dances, which are like toned-down/less informal versions of proms. The high school girls are given an excuse to ask the crushes out. IIRC, my sons got ambitious proposals from their girlfriends at that time. I think the girls even filmed them and posted somewhere. lol. I don’t know if they were taken down after the break-ups.

The sheet music is Haydn’s Sonata in D major. It is cute and fun and very appropriate for a child. I think Mrs. Gong was assigning pretty difficult pieces to little RaRa, but RR does not do that to her student.

I like how Jun and Rara just “adopted” a child together.
First, they shared a pet dog, Mimi. Now, they have a child together. But their approach is different.
Rara is going to teach the boy piano (and she’s going to have him clean the studio for her — sneaky move!). And Jun offers to feed the child. “Help yourself to everything in the first over there.”
I think I see where the writer’s going here.
Jun can take care of the practical things like providing for their “pretend family” and feeding them all.
But Rara is going to be the fun parent.

However, if this title is referring to the “Plaisir d’Amour” by 18?th 17? century French composer Martini, then the alternative title (or secret) title here is “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” sung by Elvis Presley. 😂😂

Initially when watching the episode I kept assuming DDSSLLS was Doc since I read your comment @packmule… but now I am wondering if the show is trolling us with Doc again. I would love for it to be Jun, but maybe it’s someone that hasn’t turned up in the past few episodes yet? Writer really is crafty to keep all the options open! I doubt it will be Mr Stalker though since the caring language used in the posts don’t seem in keeping with his character.
I feel like Doc likes Rara because she represents what has been missing in his life. He’s burnt out, and Rara seems to have the ability to make him laugh even from the start when she played Twinkle at her graduation recital. If he isn’t DDSSLLS then he’s really milking Rara’s wrong deduction. I didn’t like how he grabbed her hand.
Aw, so Jun met RaRa on the day of her recital, but she does not remember him…
After all that effort, they made a grand total of… 4 cookies! 😆 And Jun as usual has to do all the cleaning up.
The electricity question that Jun wrote on the whiteboard, was it an alternate version of writing Rara’s name? I = 2A, where A is also “la” on the scale, so his answer is La La?

I’m guessing now feelings have been made known, the trouble is about to start. I laughed a little when Rara told Jun the lyrics of the song he played and he’s like “What, really? I take it back”. Definitely a foreboding moment.
Could Mr. Kim be DDSSLLS? (Or is the writer just playing with us?) 1. He was one of the four men shown on the overlook/mountain (just after Ra Ra asked DDSSLLS in the first episode what his location was). 2. Episode 8 showed us that he also sent a plant to the beauty parlor for her opening (the camera lingered on it for a couple of seconds). 3. He has the money to buy the piano and perhaps he saw her playing outside and wanted to get her an indoor piano. 4. This episode showed us that Jun had taught him to use social media on his phone.
But how he knew about the Twinkle-Twinkle connection–I don’t know. It’s possible he could have been in the audience if his wife had already passed at that point–but I’m not sure of that timeline.
Rewatching the first episode, when Ra Ra ran into Jun–Jun was very surprised to see her. I don’t think he was the one who posted the message that she should come there.

The Ohm’s formula is Voltage = Intensity of Current multiplied by Resistance.
Or V = IR
From here, you can derive the formula for Intensity of Current (or plain Intensity). It’s going to be I = V divided by Resistance.
Or I = V/R
Voltage is the pressure coming from the electrical power source, like a battery. Pressure is needed to move the electrons into the circuit to make, let’s say, the lightbulb of a lamp light up.
Applying Ohm’s formula to Jun’s love, he needs to apply more pressure by being more romantic in order for Rara’s lightbulb💡 — or metaphorical ❤️ — to realize that he loves her and she reciprocates his feelings. He can ignite her feelings by showing her more love.
However, Jun has to regulate the amount of electrical charge/flowing love. If he comes on too strong (e.g., his cheesy text about his love burning the cookie), then Rara’s heart will explode in cringe-ness. She threw her cellphone in shock when she read his text, didn’t she? It was like she was electrocuted. 😂
That’s the resistance in action for you.
She’s going to resist Jun’s lover-ly attention if he pressures her too much.
That’s why he’s looking for the correct intensity. That’s the mathematical equation he wrote on the whiteboard. He was looking for I or the correct intensity, so he could show his feelings for her without scaring her into resisting him.

So nice that their first kiss happens in the cable car, where we first saw all the characters in Eunpo. I held my breath for a bit because I half-wondered if Rara was going to give Jun another nosebleed!
@BethB you have a point there, the writer left it all open so it could be any of them? But like you said Mr Kim didn’t seem to be at the concert, also DDSSLLS sent this message just 1/2 days after Rara’s fiasco of a wedding, which was when Jun & Doc just moved to Eunpo. I think Jun only met Mr Kim about 2 weeks later when he saved his life.
The first message “do you want to come here if you’re lonely?” sounds like something a younger person would say. I don’t think the stalker is DDSSLLS, the messages sound too caring to be the stalker.
Speaking of which, the stalker asked Rara to play Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 23 (but she didn’t as he got upset as she said she couldn’t teach him for 2 hours each time), I read that it’s also known as the Appassionata (meaning passionate). Jun chose to learn Plaisir d’amour, but decided to take it back after he learnt the sad meaning behind the song lol. The montage of all the moments of him and Rara together while he played the song was so so sweet.

I’m a bit alarmed by Jun saying to Jae-min’s father that he’s RaRa’s husband. It could have consequences; they all live in the same neighbourhood.
Perhaps I’ve been influenced by the short, concise series of ZD or Love Lasts Forever. I feel that almost all the background has been set and we only need about one more week of reveals and resolution but we still have 3 more weeks? I like the drama but hope that we don’t get a lot of filler.

And a random side note on the Maiden’s Prayer: I was wondering why the song sounded so familiar because I’ve never heard the classical version being played before watching this show. The hubs just watched Ep 3 with me, heard the song, and turned to me and said, “hey that’s the Taiwan garbage truck song!” . We previously visited Taiwan a couple of times and stayed in apartments (because we have quite a big family), and we had to take out our own trash. The trucks run on a specific schedule and they play these classical pieces to alert folks that they are coming. We’d always hear a very tinny version of the Maiden’s Prayer being played, and that was when the hubs knows to make a mad dash down with the trash, to join all the others clearing theirs as well!
