Have a fang-tastic, spook-tacular and fa-boo-lous Halloween, goblins, witches, and Bitches!

I’ll be watching “Zombie Detective” eps 11 and 12 while waiting for the trick-or-treaters. How cute is this? She’s dressed up as Chuckie’s Bride??
“Finally…we’re meeting.”

@GB, I’m watching Kairos, too. Skipped the drama of Ep 1 and jumped straight to Ep 2. 😂
Happy Halloween, 🎃🧝🏻♀️🧛🏻♂️🧛♀️🧚♀️🧟♂️ 👻 !
Happy Halloween to you, too, @packmule3. Will you have trick or treating there or is it restricted this year? We may get none, but that means more Snickers and Malteasers for me. (Evil laugh)
I hope that you enjoy the last episodes of Zombie Detective. I miss it already. So much so that I took @Old American Lady’s advice and had a look at Emergency Couple. 😁😉
I made goodie bags for the trick-or-treaters and filled them with Snickers, M&Ms, Whoppers, and Hershey Crunch. Then I’m putting glow sticks in them tonight. Hubby will decorate the lawn with those bags with light glowing so the kids can see them.
Like you, if there are left-overs they’re mine!!! But if we need more, I can make more quickly bec I bought extra chocolate just in case.
We’re on the pre-approved list of homes to visit in the neighborhood. The neighborhood parents with young kids were already given the list so they’d know which houses are safe to visit.
If non-neighborhood kids drop by, that’s fine, too. I’ll just make more goodie bags and line them up.
😀 I’m used to neighbors’ kids because they use our driveway too for “sledding run” on the first big snowfall of the year. 😅😅 plus, it’s nice meet the new, young families.
Happy Holiday guys I’ll be watching tv shows as well but not so scary because I’m a wimp haha. Enjoy the trick or treaters 🙂
Hey @pkml3! Happy Halloween! I’m glad to know that you’re picking up Kairos. It’s definitely one I’ll watch til the end. It was a good idea to skip Ep 1 because it had so much pain for the ML and even for the FL to go through, but it was a great set up episode.
If you’re in the market for something lighter, and a spoof of espionage, there’s The Spies Who Loved Me. It’s not to be taken too seriously, although not all of it are roses and rainbows. However there are moments when it was deliberately ridiculous. Eric Mun is a joy to watch and Yoo In Na does not disappoint. This show reminds me of the good first episodes of My Secret Hotel, before the new writer let it go downhill. I checked to make sure that the director and writer are not the same as MSH’s, LOL. I think I’m safe.
Happy Halloween @packmule3 and everyone here!! Have a fun filled spooky day! 👻👻👻
Not sure about Kairos yet, though I read the recap of ep.1, which seemed very intriguing.
@GB I liked Eric Mun a lot in Another Miss Oh. May try out one episode of The Spy Who Loved Me just because of him. But Im not sure I can tolerate Yoo In Na after I randomly saw a scene of Touch Your Heart where she was super ditzy🙄
@Phoenix Yoo In Na’s character in Spies is pretty smart and with good instincts in all things, except in figuring out her ex-husband, and her current husband. I like that this show does not prolong the keeping the FL in the dark and quickly brings her on board to work with her ex. The barbed banter’s going to be sooo good.
😂😂 I don’t think I can last 16 hours listening to Yoo In Ana’s airy, breathy, baby voice. Her voice makes my hackles rise.
But I like Eric Mun so I’ll see. Might check it out.
I’ve decided I’m going as great big orange pumpkin 🎃 tonight.
I forgot to buy treats for the dogs. 🤦♀️ Family pets usually accompany the kids and many of them are dressed up, too so I’ve to get them their own Halloween doggie treats.
Note to myself: set a water dish for the pooch (or boo-ch). 🐶
I’ll finish Ep 2 then circle back to watch Ep 1. Your review intrigued me. 👍👍 🙂
Zombie Detective is really funny. Zombie is scared of himself, too and his quips on his new Zombie life had me in stitches. 😂
@pkml3 Yes, do watch Ep 1 of Kairos, but I must warn you, it’s not an easy watch. (⌣_⌣”)
Happy Halloween!
It looks like we’ll be going into lockdown next week. The country’s case rate is exceeding worst case scenarios. 😱 Neighbors with kids just told me that they won’t trick or treat this year. 😞
I’ll have a look at Kairos, too. Thanks to everyone for the recommendation.
I think I’ll plant some lettuce leaves like Jun in ddsslls.
I’m sorry to hear that, @ Fern. How many of the cases need hospitalization? I think doctors are getting better at treating the disease because they’ve had more time to study it, so that’s good news, at least.
Fortunately, children, and most people without underlying health issues, have a good recovery rate if ever they catch it. The parents of trick-or-treaters and the homeowners were given guidelines to follow on social distancing, candy preparations, masks, hand sanitizers, etc. Plus, the houses sit on good size lots, so we don’t expect crowding on steps, alleys, and driveways. Sidewalks will be one-way (or One Direction, lol) but if people wish to cross and walk on the other side, that’s fine, too. The last time I checked, we have 60+ homes listed. lol. This is definitely a big “pay-day” for the lucky goblins and witches. 🙂
I think it’s good that people are being proactive in finding strategies to live with a “new normal” while dealing with this COVID. We can’t be forever in a lockdown mentality. That’s no way to live.
Happy Halloween to Bitchrs everywhere. No matter what your traditions, you can celebrate the holidays with a K Drama. And you can enjoy 🍬. I’m celebrating by watching the last episode of Zombie again. It leaves an opening for a possible second season. If the writer and cast ate the same, I’m in. Atlanta anyone.
Will watch Kairos-love Shin Sung Tok, even when he’s a villain. He has a great stone face. The fact that he got his start in musical theater blows me away.
I’m envious of your organised and generous Halloween plans in your area, @packmule3. I will miss seeing the children in their costumes. I wouldn’t mind one of those treat bags. Is Hershey crunch similar to Nestle crunch? Or is it more like Skor/Heaths English toffee? Count me in!
In England, Halloween is thought of as a kids‘ thing and considered to be a US imported/money spinner holiday. People are less invested in it and some actually find it offensive. Scotland is different, based on what Scottish parents have told me, and Halloween parties are an established tradition.
The local holiday that’s coming next week is Guy Fawkes day aka Bonfire night. We know that burning effigies on bonfires whilst eating barbecued sausages isn’t creepy at all. 😁🤪
@Fern, Is it Hogmany in Scotland. I read all the Outlander books anw watched the TV series but have to binge the last one(K Dramas have become my go to now because too many crazy shippers were on the Outlander fan sites). I tbink Claire went through the stones (like Stonehenge) during Hogmany).
I have fond memories of traveling through England and Scotland with my husband the year before we got married. We didn’t have a lot of money but we were prepared with rail and museum passes and stayed at wonderful B&Bs. We did a lot of sightseeing, butthe best part was meeting wonderful, down to Earth people like the WWII RAF pilot who I spoke with about my Dad who fought in North Africa and Italy. I love Dickens, the Bronte sisters and Austen. Just being on the land where they lived and wrote was thrilling.
Please stay safe-I know that new quarantines are with you. And lets all get through this with the joyweget from KDramas. 🙂
Old American Lady, I think Hogmanay is on New Year’s Eve.
Claire from Outlander went through the stones in the spring (in the book). They changed it to Halloween for the TV show. Both dates work though, according to Outlander universe’s time travel laws.😃
@Snow Flower, Thanks for the correction. Time travel is one of my favorite tropes. And each author has time travel rules. What I know is that we all do time travel by just living. However, there are so many personal reasons that I’d lkve to goback in time. One is that I did some DNA testing and found out that I had some ancesgry on the Iberian Peninsula and Gugurat. It would be interesting to me to see who these ancestors were because I’m mostly EasternEuropean. And I love that K Dramas use the trope so often.
Ahhh remembering Hogmanay when I was in Glasgow. People will go to Edinburgh to celebrate each year. Happy Halloween ladies!😊
Happy Halloween everyone! Stay safe @Fern, hope things get better soon.
Happy Halloween to all of you that celebrate it!
Kairos is that good huh? I have to add it to my list then.
I saw the trailer for “The Good Detective”, have you watched it?
Still I don’t know what to watch next… 🙄
Hi @Cleopatra and Everyone,…
I have not watched The Good Detective but I just glanced at this review and it sounds promising. https://www.jazminemedia.com/2020/08/the-good-detective-spoiler-free-review/
What I’m watching, besides Kairos and the Tale of the Nine Tailed is …
The Spies Who Loved Me (Episodes 1-4)
This show is managing a good mix of levity, warmth, pathos and some serious, thought-provoking moments. I’m enjoying the OTT spy shenanigans and the unexpected wild and whacky bits. The male pole-dancing, bedsheet bundling fight, and embarrassing couple reminisces were to die for. The tone transitions well between serious and humorous and is well balanced.
Perhaps unexpectedly, or not, this show is a commentary on marriage, that is ‘masquerading’ as a spy investigation. In that sense the title is quite apt. Show has a lot to say about what marriage is, what the expectations are, the mistakes, and the emotions. I feel that show is out to give advice on what works and what can go wrong, and how to communicate better in marriage (or any relationship). Not too bad a show for those who are planning to get married, to watch, before tying the knot.
We get to see both the man’s as well as the woman’s point of view, but I find that these first episodes are more skewered towards what a wife wants in marriage. Ji Hun is an example of a rather clueless, naïve or immature husband. Even after he tries to explain, I still haven’t got a clear idea of why he felt that he had to hide his spy profession from his wife, however he comes across as sincere and caring. His flaw is the usual one of trying to protect by being nobly idiotic, and hiding with lies. I like that by Ep 4’s end, most of the lies are out, except 1 biggie which will still come back to bite Ji Hun.
The FL, Ah Reum is savvy, observant and makes great deductions, but her blind spots are the men she loves. She does need some help from the male counterparts, but mentally, she is more than a match for them. She can be quite a shrew when aroused, but otherwise is quite reasonable. I feel that many women will be able to relate to her emotional turmoil over her first marriage.
What’s unusual in this show are the very long conversations that characters have with each other. There are several meaningful chats that are given ample time to develop, and where one actor has to recite many lines of script, without much of a break. These gave a very good idea of where the characters were coming from and the how they felt. These are quite apart from the silly, crazy action scenes, and are serious, provocative conversations.
On the espionage side, I feel show is not interested in keeping us on tenterhooks, therefore by the end of Ep 4, we pretty much can guess who the culprits are. The more interesting thing will be how to catch them, while not getting caught, and how to disentangle the FL safely.
I liked the analogy of the bride and groom mannequins in the Wedding shop window. We begin by seeing 2 bride mannequins flanking the groom mannequin, and the meeting between the ML with the 2 ladies in his life mirrored that. At the end, the show window display is reversed, ie 2 grooms to 1 bride, and true enough we have the 2 men in Ah Reum’s life turn up to mirror that.
A serious, yet funny show with relationship things to think about.
BTW @pkml3 Yoo In Na is not using any irritating voice that I notice. Nothing too babyish in her tone.
@GB Good afternoon!
Thank you for the recommentations!
I also have to check “The Spies who loved me”, it seems rather interesting!
Greek fans told me to watch: Flower of Evil, Healer, Scarlet Heart and I have discovered Kill me, Heal me too!
I will watch their trailers and I will see what calls me…
@Cleopatra Yes, I too recommend, (I liked these shows when I watched them) Flower of Evil, Healer and Kill Me Heal Me. I didn’t watch Scarlet Heart.
You can read our thoughts on FoE, here on BoD. Healer and KMHM had lots written on the Dramabeans recaps and comments. They are very engaging shows, pretty solid and well produced.
@GB thank you for the help!
I will read and decide!
