When you think about this, “Tarzan” is arguably the only time he engaged in a romantic fantasy.

He has this smarmy, obsequious face! He directs his dimply smile at the female director, too, when he’s trying to aegyo his way out of Ugh. If I were to put him on the witness stand, I’d counsel him to tone it down. He looks fake when he smiles and flashes those dimples.

No GIF here but there’s a scene I noticed, During their brainstorming on self driving cars at their old office, When Dalmi stood up, her sweater at the back of the chair was almost falling. Dosan secured it back on the chair. So natural. My hubby actually keeps an eye on my stuff when we go to parties, I forget where I left my jacket, umbrella, etc.
I liked when he wiped the orange on his shirt before giving it to Dalmi. Sweet!

DalMi was the one who said what are the chances of being born a genius, 1 in 100,000 and she went on saying that the chances for a genius to be recognized by someone as competent as Alex is like winning a lottery.
DoSan understood what DalMi was trying to do so he replied back “Chances. The chances of any two people meeting are equal.” ” It’s always equally incredible.”
So I think DalMi thought that she had to remove herself from DoSan’s equation if she’s to be successful in pushing DoSan to accept Alex’s offer.

Such a lot to unpack – in one of the recaps it said something about Dosan in the next scene when leaving the restaurant – asking something like would Dalmi give up on NoonGil (the app( and she says yes … ). I need to rewatch …
On gif 5, he is boyfriend material because as simple as giving her that tangerine/orange (which I think he asked from Youngsan hahaha since Youngsan was seen eating this fruit in Ep 8 and 16) or what, is simply him saying “I was thinking about you and thought that you would like some.” Plus the way he made sure to clean it first. He was very thoughtful and at the same time him being practical. This proves showing someone you love doesn’t need to involve grandiose gifts and all.
That was in contrast with the first couple Chulsan and Youngsan saw on the benches when the bf handed his gf flowers and sweater and here we have Dosan handing his gf a fruit. Awww my heart. ❤️💕
Also, Dosan’s personality was also reflected with his friends (Chulsan and Youngsan) when we saw them conversing about the two couple in front of them saying why the man had to give flowers and all; that the man should have given a keyboard haha. Which reflects the practicality of the two friends and is thus also a reflection of Dosan being practical and thoughtful as well.

Plus, Although it was not shown, I think Dosan and Dalmi might have a conversation that she liked tangerine/oranges or maybe Dosan noticed Dalmi liked them so when he saw Yongsan have one, it showed us that Dosan thought of Dalmi because Dalmi liked it.
I say this because I think during the Hackathon episode (5?), during the flashback, we saw Dalmi eating tangerine while talking to grandma. And her quote there about needing rain and snow etc etc so that the fruits like the tangerine she was eating could grow.

I hope after a few months we get news that Namzy is for real just like BinJin! Dosan-Dalmi (NJH-Suzy in real life is just so swoon worthy).
It’s in the details, Dosan is swoonable because he sees those little details, like providing the extra lighting when she is putting make up. It just shows how attentive he is. Though he wasn’t as attentive during the birthday lunch eh?
Loved the agreement glance and smile when Dalmi acknowledged with thanks, the mandarin orange Dosan gave her. It was quick but that feels so natural. That fact that he gave her a mandarin and wiped it really well on his sweater over his heart as @Janey said is a nice gesture too.
ohhh..and the muscle flex! Nam Joo Hyuk talks about being in a gym a lot and wanting to open a gym or CEO of a gym…or was he just playing along with Suzy? hmm…

Maybe he didn’t understand Dalmi during his birthday because…
1. He couldn’t notice Dalmi being extra pretty that day because as we saw during his conversation with mom, Dalmi is “Pretty” every minute, every second for him
2. He was so preoccupied with the lawsuit; he didn’t even remember his own birthday
3. He was badly hurt because he was stabbed with words that he was not Dosan from the letters (which we all know is one of the reasons he envied JP) and hearing those words from Dalmi must have been an extra stab at his insecurity that he was not loved because he was not part of the past (the person he thought Dalmi wanted)
4. He missed Dalmi saying couldn’t he just “play along” as she was ending everything at the nice fancy restaurant; meaning Dalmi was having a hard time because he wants dosan to play along similar to what she wanted in Ep 2 telling Dosan to play along as she wanted to show off to her sister. This time she was also saying she is putting on a show which was hard to pull off (breaking up with him).
Still can’t forget Dosan’s heartbroken face 🥺🥺🥺 but this is also the reason he is boyfriend material because he respected Dalmi’s decision to break up with him 😢😢😢

Both acted really well in the breakup scene. The awkwardness in the bus was palpable. DoSan kept bringing up the lawsuit and DalMi kept brushing it off and changing the topic. I can tell DalMi’s resoluteness while trying to hold back tears and DoSan’s desperation to stay by fixing the mess.
That selfie scene, DalMi told DoSan to smile but she herself looked at the camera sadly and DoSan was looking at her instead. I’m glad they include the selfie picture at the ending montage or I would forever be curious.
The muscle flexes are funny; NJH invested a lot of time and effort in those biceps, so it’s good he can make use of them.
(In real life, they could have had a LTR rather than break up. I knew a lot of graduate students who did it successfully. Less good for the drama, though.)

@Diane previously I wanted them to be like BinJin haha. Because yes in real life they are just so cute. But they’re still young. And i wanted to see them in another project together. Being in a go public relationship would make it quite impossible for them to be in the same project again I think.. haha so I wanted them to keep it low. And doing another project together in the future..
PS: I also wonder about the same thing with president Ella.. I guess it’s for the image.. maybe it’s good for variety show, but if the agency wanted him to be the top list celebrities, I think he should really tone the smiley face down 😅

I don’t know if I mentioned this before. I know I started writing about it in the protected “Fan Girl” thread but I changed my mind and deleted it. 😂
In my opinion, he’s very conscious of his image on 2D1N so he comes out bland and boring. The line-up of cast members has always included actors. And it was a given that they are the “timid” ones and the least funny ones in the variety show. The comedians carry the show, the actors are the “visuals” of the show.
There’s the maknae or the “youngest” of the group to add pep and hip-hop culture. There’s the oldest guy to stabilize the group, JungYoon.
And there’s Kim Jungmin, the veteran.
The actor cast members always start off being the “boring” ones bec they guard their image. But Yoon ShiYoon wasn’t a variety show newbie so although he kept his good boy image, he worked the hardest: he run errands for the others, he gave it all during the games, he displayed his athletic abilities when he could (he was lousy with anything involving hitting balls like ping pong). He read books so he would spout these “old soul” wisdom. He wowed the audience with his speech to college kids on not being afraid of failure. He was raised by his grandparents so the show’s visit to his family was a heartwarming episode.
Above all, Yoon ShiYoon was EARNEST. He gave his all.
In comparison… 😈
SeonHo seems a slacker. He doesn’t run errands for the team.
He can’t be relied on to win physical games because he’s weak athletically*. (Just like in Start-Up)
*I have to explain this. The rock-climbing event was an eye-opener to me. He scaled the wall easily. That’s when I knew that he was actually strong and coordinated. But during the physical games, he gets tired easily. To me, he loses because he holds himself back. Other members don’t mind doing the body gags to make the show funny; they put their whole body and soul into the games. (Check out Dindin, the shortest member.)
He can’t be relied on to win mental games that involve General Knowledge and/or deduction. (Lol. That’s why I said he was dumb. I could SEE it whenever he struggled to understand the game directions or objectives. 🙄)
There was no way SeonHo was going to ruin his image by playing the villain or traitor role, like Kwangsoo in “Running Man.” Lol. Kwangsoo made Running Man funny and interesting bec you never know if his tricks would backfire on him. 😂
SeonHo did try to be an intellectual on the show. One theme of the show was repairing their image. They were supposed to come dressed up to repair their image.
SeonHo came in a suit and he brought a book as a prop. Unfortunately, it was a book that he hadn’t even read. “Guns, Germs and Steel” 🤡 His stylist or somebody told him he had to look smart. But to me he looked dumbER because he was trying too hard to be something he wasn’t.
All the other cast members must have been told by their managers (and maybe the director and writers too) what to wear.
One came dressed like a rocker/gangster. One came like a singer (bec people forget that he was a singer first and a variety performer second). One was dressed up like a school-aged kid bec he was the oldest. Ravi the pop idol came dressed in haute couture pants bec he said he lost his edgy fashion sense on the show. He sashayed in, wearing jeans that went all the way up to his ribcage.
Another member bought fake teeth bec he felt conscious of his teeth ever since the show spotlighted them. He couldn’t talk bec they didn’t fit in properly. 😂
And SeonHo came dressed as an intellectual.
Do you see what I mean?
Everybody else went to do the show trying to poke fun at themselves. SeonHo actually came to FIX his image. 🤦♀️

Variety show are revealing even when it’s scripted, if you’re bland you can’t really sugarcoat it.
What I noticed is how he smile/dimple smile in excessive amount nowadays. When I watched the bts of StartUp he smile the normal amount, but after he gained popularity, he flex that dimple smile without restraint, for example in the swoon video, in all fairness the interviewer made him do it too.
Even his infamous fangirl twitter handle always contain the smiley icon (sidenote: I avoid that smiley icon at all cost for my peace of mind LOL)
IMO that maybe since all the fangirl keep parading about as his best feature is that smile, he sell it hard, but I agree with you, moonstar512 and I guess his own agency that he need to tone it down or he’ll be a one trick pony.

Same, LeeDale9198. I thought that was nice of him to hold up the light so she could retouch her makeup. And didn’t he point out that her nose was bit shiny (or red) and she powdered it? That meant he was staring at her face.
“Hating” is probably too strong a word. Maybe annoyed? Irritated? Suspicious? Like “Why are you smiling again? What do you need from me this time?”

I think he is boyfriend material because he treats Dalmi as his equal. As simple as breaking the stereotype that boys should be the one kissing the hand, but, here we have Dosan getting giddy and excited about Dalmi kissing his hands. He is not afraid to show his affection towards her and vice versa.
I’m watching the latest episode of 2 Days 1 Night on viki now. This was after “Start-Up.” They were playing the first game of the day, a “Let’s Identify the Winter Song” game. The three cast members who could guess the songs will be “Team Who Ate” and the the last three cast members to guess a song would be in the losers team.
He immediately turned to his hyung, Jung Hoon (the husband of Han GaIn), and said “Hyung, we’re on the same team.” He was already predicting that he was going to lose.
But then JungHoon happened to answer one of the questions correctly so Seonho said, “Gosh, I feel so betrayed!” When asked why, he answered, “I really though he’d never get one right. (but) he got it right as soon as the music was played.”
Immediately, one of the members, the chubby guy, I forgot his name SeYoon (?), told him, “You must decide now. Will you be a cast member or a viewer today?”
Pwahahahaha.
They laughed while Seonho answered meekly, “I should be on the show.” SeYoon came back with, “Okay, I get it.”
SeYoon is one of the members who works hard to keep the show entertaining.
People always say that the variety show is scripted. True… but there are just comments like that, that cannot be scripted because the members are REACTING to the situation.

Haha, the world according to Dosan! Somehow, I didn’t catch that line about where hair grows. And his response about lying for thousands of years to come. When he and JP were talking 3 years later at his home, he said he would love Dalmi for thousands of years using that same phrase. It shows how he changed after meeting Dalmi that he can say things like that without being so literal and scientific.
Re: dorkiness, don’t know if many others will agree but I kind of liked Dosan better with the shaggy ‘do. 🙂 Picturing him on his bike carrying the suit over his shoulder, wind ruffling through his hair as he rides. After the haircut, I thought he looked almost too good to be this dorky character and kept remembering he was a model in real life.
Also didn’t remember that scene where Dosan cleaned the orange and gave it to Dalmi. Those moments seem so natural as part of the scene and don’t even seem scripted. The backpack scene is cute too, and love the sprinkle of humor with Chulsan looking at his backpack and then looking at Saha, who’s looking at her phone. Be patient, Chulsan, one day Saha will zip up your backpack too! 🙂
@Royangi – I favor Dosan with that cute nest of curly hair, too,,, on a bike carrying the suit. PM3 found the GIF, it’s in the ep 15 rewatch thread. I regret that Dalmi didn’t properly meet him with that hair. 😉 He looked like a college kid there though.
I like him being fashionable with those long coats but missed him wearing the hoodies and sweats and the Samsan checks!

But He took my breathe away during his appearance in the networking party because of how dramatic it was shot showing us of 2 mins him being blurry and walking like a model and revealing his face at the last second haha
Also, I love this drama because of how Chulsan was so jealous of Dosan because of how affectionate Dalmi and Dosan are as a couple as revealed in Ep 16 since they are open to talking about their future and are so sweet in the office that he just had to interrupt the moment haha. The same as in Ep 8 where Chulsan also wanted Saha to zip his backpack because Dalmi was fixing Dosan’s.

I want to know whether beautiful was meant to describe the couple or beach. Netflix subber said it was the beach that was beautiful. I thought it could go either way but it would make more sense if it was referring to the couple as beautiful — given that Bible passage about a lover calling out his beautiful loved one. I thought people should be beautiful. 😂

Although I saw one video who was rooting for Team HJP (not a toxic stan) but then she cried at Ep 15 when Dosan revealed that he had been working on self-driving cars in 2STO just in case Dalmi would work on it. Then she cried because of all the flashbacks (yacht, playground) of Dosan saying he wanted to be DM trophy etc. she said it was so beautiful that she suddenly realized Dosan’s love for DM.

One of my friend is on jp camp but halfway through the drama she said DoSan is more suited for DalMi. Not all jp’s fan are blind when it comes to DoSan and DalMi, some understand that DoSan and DalMi are meant to be like my friend, my issue is with her/others are their selective blindness when it comes to jp, their willingness to overlook his character and hailing him as the greatest mentor the world has ever seen LOL..
