Is it just me, the hanboks were exceptional in Ep11 like they have brand new set of wardrobe.
HwaJin putting her bet on QD I think will come back to bite her later.

I wonder, did the King realize the Queen was doing the cooking for the festival?
After all, he found out when the Queen collapsed that she was coming to the kitchen and cooking. Also, he should recognize her handwriting because they’ve been “texting” I mean writing poems to each other every night. Even Queen Dowager Cho knew the Queen cooked, because she complained that she heard that it was exceptionally delicious but never was offered any. The Grand Queen Dowager at least should have recognized the Queen’s cooking since everything that is innovative (at least for Joseon) and super yummy is the Queen’s doing.

I want HwaJin and SoYong to resolve their issues, BH was right their rivalry stem from misunderstanding and QD driving a wedge between them.
The King finally decided to show his real-self and of course Minister Kim can’t have that, the way he spoke to the King 🤦🏻♀️ might as well they switch places.

@Ella, I agree with the beautiful hanboks, the pastels that Queen wears is beautiful.
We got a Mr.Han who is connected to modern world, probably reincarnated as the same baddie.
The whole banquet is like a replay of what happened before BH slipped into the past…he now recognizes and understand the political struggles better though he still doesn’t want to get involved.
I find BH someone who doesn’t hold grudges. I mean Hwajin almost killed him/her, the King also almost killed him/her and he does not fight back in vengeance but leaves them alone. Pretty much like how he did before in his own world, as if I do my thing, you do yours and lets not bother each other.
Good point, @ Grace. BongHwan didn’t fight in the modern world too when he was framed and he lost his job.
I think he doesn’t want to get involve bec he knows that the King did have this concubine HwaJin (and a few more) in the history books. He can’t alter history.
But he’ll probably fight back if the King is harmed before the “right time.” The King is supposed to reign for 15 years.
The actor playing the King is doing very well. Let’s hope he finishes strong. I remember he stepped down from his kdrama “Time” in 2018 because of some psychological stress or anxiety attacks. I hope he doesn’t feel pressured just bec this show is widely popular in SK.

First off, I wanted to mention that I watched Episode 12 last night on Viki when it was still only 87% translated. No problem, I thought, I’ve been studying Korean for a couple of months via an app–I’ll put my learning to the test. Then all captioning stopped in the last five minutes and, alas, no one said what turns out to be only the limited number of Korean words/phrases I know (i.e., counting 1-10, saying “Hello,” “Please,” “I love you,” etc.) so I was left in the dark about what was happening with the king’s guards–but it doesn’t look good! I’ll have to watch again when all the captioning is done.
Episodes 11 and 12 had many funny references to modern life—instant messaging (via Chinese notes and couriers); fast food/McDonald’s; paintball(?); celebrity autographs (when Mr. Han signs the he-man kaleidoscope for Lady Choi); even the note to the maid via the child was sort of like an old-fashioned dating app. Yet there was lots of drama as well—-which is why this show continues to exceed my expectations for it.

I am very happy for Kim Jung Hyun, the left-handed cutie from Busan. I read that the drama has finished filming, and he did not have another nervous breakdown. I liked how the king’s true personality was revealed. I understand it was a trap, but it was a joy to behold. The cliffhanger was shocking though…

Oh I just know that the actor stepped down from his previous drama because of his anxiety attacks. Is this his first drama where he is the main lead? Thanks for the info @snowflower that the drama has finished filming, I heard that the actors and actress wear the white clothes.. will there be anyone who died in the end? 🙁

@Ella: I also love the hanbok in that episode!
