In the end it was just the 5 of them in the office fixing the ransomeware attack. What a good thing that all the circumstances were just right. The boys were in Korea, they met Sa Ha that night and DM called SH at the right time. If one of those circumstances had been different, DM would have lost the code and data. And how could an AI company have no backups at all???

Hi All, I’m just leaving a note here while I can… I’ve been experiencing some crashing between my Gmail and this Blog, meaning, that from Gmail when I want to ‘Reply’ to a comment or to click the link to this blog, I sometimes get an error message. After that, I just cannot return through Gmail. I find that there’s no way to get out of it until I re-initialise my browser. It happens in more than 1 browser that I have, and intermittently.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Anyway, if tonight in our re-watch party I seem to disappear or take ages to respond or do not respond directly to your emails, this is the reason why.
I should still be able to respond only on the blog, but that way, I won’t see who has replied to me unless you always include “@GB” to your posts to me (which I know most of you do anyway).
I’ll start off by testing and re-initialising tonight before we start and then hope for the best.
The most infuriating thing is having written a post only to lose it because the error crops up instead!!!

I’m so obsessed with Sisyphus right now that I’m having weird dreams. Like: I mix the concept with real things. It doesn’t make sense. For example, a dream with my work, where I make a proposal taking into account the paradox, and therefore that it will be done right away, with something from the future. Even funnier, I’m also obsessed with the Penthouse drama. And I’m adding over-dramatization to it.
It was much worse with W. Every night I wandered in other worlds without knowing how I could get back. Like the heroine in episodes 10 and 11.
Otherwise, I guess it might be related to daylight saving time, time change?

I love how bold Dalmi is, naming her project Tarzan is basically sending Dosan a sky writing. The importance and significance of it is so obvious, but at the same time everyone else is oblivious of it.
I cringed and cringed for InJae, it is totally not in her to be like that. Dosan would suit the tacky video though! 😛 Thought Frozen is a good theme to put considering the sisters had a drew apart at some point despite having a close relationship earlier on. And things got worse and then better before they reconciled.
And here is Saha, her niece and her sister who was the ex coworker of Dalmi’s.

Their clothing attire is actually all wrong for spending a day on a yacht. Youngsan was wearing Bass loafers instead of Sperry top-siders, and Chulsan looked like he was going to Easter Sunday church with that pinstripe seersucker jacket.
I see that Dosan has started to wear black now.
At least, they weren’t wearing those checkered shirts.

JP is up again later to do the skewers. He claims: “I always do my best and concede when I lose. I’m very precise like that. Also I should earn my keep.”
However he did not do his best with DM and he did not concede defeat when it was obvious that DM cared for DS.
@Janey I find that weird also. I understand Injae is busy and all. But with the sisters now working together and Dalmi living with her mom and halmeoni how could she not know or them not tell her. *shakes head in disbelief*
@Cleo, I think that they were supposed to be having fun and they probably really dropped the food etc so it was an accident and used as ad lib for the scene. It looked/sounded so natural.
The carrot chewing scene! Another indication DM has not romantic feelings with JP.
DS seems to be not initiating stuff, especially on the social side. He seems to just do whatever the others decide and does not want to make it plain what he wants.
Grandma sleeping so much could be a sign that she’s a bit depressed.
Or maybe they filmed on a boat outside in the parking lot and the CGI just put the blue sea around them? Ha!

Btw, I noticed that All k-drama I’ve seen recently (including Vincenzo) have scenes in this same Swarovski branch/store. Weird though that in SU they changed or didn’t use the name.
I saw the bts of JP scene with Dalmi family, they seem to had a lot of fun and full of laughters..
@Cleo, I don’t think the writer hate her character, but she has no mercy for him. When she make him react like a man would do, conflict or physical intimidation, she turn him as gay.

Here the twins deliberately let someone work from home, leaving the port open for hacking. They did the hacking actually by running a program which they deleted before they left.

I don’t think the writer hates JP’s character. He decided to act in a difficult situation. Instead of hitting him with his hands, he did “hit” him with another way.
That doesn’t mean that Writer-Nim hates JP.

I like how Saha was one of Chulsan’s vlog followers. Did she name him, “Chulsan Iced Vanilla Latte Lover” on her phone or was this the name of Chulsan’s vlog? lol. He was no longer a plain “Iced Americano” guy now.
The brief scene when Dalmi was looking at Dosan’s image while she was in her darkened room and Dosan was looking at her demo in the bright, open sea was well-conceived and well-edited. The message wasn’t complicated but it came through: even though they were apart they thought of each other.
@Cleo, she can’t hate him, because it’s one of her character. But she have to put the chararcter as he’s supposed to be in the story. So, I think she have compassion for this guy she make suffer.

Poor DS thinks he has no hope in making a misunderstanding a reality, because of the way JP implied that there was more between him and DM. That was bad of him. It was not playing fair in any game, even for a baseball metaphor.

All the conditions were aligned for DM so that her very bad day ended well. The guys had to be back, SH had to meet them and DM had to call for help at the right time. Only then could she meet them again and speak with DS.

Suzy acted really well here. Just the right amount of crying. You can feel her helplessness and sigh of relief when she heard Dosan is coming to help her.

This background song and how each of the SST member is making their entrance, you know something great is about to happen.

Finally DalMi and DoSan are together after three years…
@GB, that’s something that happens in this episode, and at the end. What the screenwriter does with this character is merciless.
When JP is hypocritical, lying, he plays tricks that are typical of the second female leads in the dramas. The usual tricks that bitches use as traps. I love that kind of character, and I’m certainly willing to forgive their dirty tricks, or at least appreciate them, especially if the girl is beautiful and smart. But for JP to do this feminizes him. And what is acceptable from a woman is not acceptable from a man. Man to man, I have no respect for a guy who does this kind of thing, whether in a drama or real life. I am certainly a traditional person, and that is not acceptable from a man. And the writer is also traditional, and so is her Korean audience. So by doing this, she is dragging the character through the mud to an extreme point. If as a man, this makes me incapable of any respect for the character, I don’t know what it is for women. But Korean women, surely. This drama is pretty simple to understand in terms of who the ML is. The leads are so obvious. Aside from a legitimate sympathy for the character, this whole JP team thing didn’t make any sense.
I JP hadn’t messed with DS’s mind, he’d probably have said a lot more to DM here. Instead there’s awkward silences.

Dosan still finding Dalmi-ya pretty every single day no matter what (I remember him telling this to his mom prior to the birthday breakup).
The awkward conversation of DS and DM after the hacking. Such a contrast on what They find exciting and boring. I think when DS said he hadn’t felt the thrill like that in a while (comfort zone ep title), he is alluding both on being with Dalmi and troubleshooting the hacking.

Even I don’t know about those fans of JP, they only like him for the dimples and do not bother to analyse his behaviour and what that says about him.
Love how the 3 guys are of the same mind. And DS returns his wish to the grid. He will definitely make the misunderstanding a reality.
BTW, did DM actually open her music box ever?? Or only at the end?
TBH when Dalmi was holding Dosan’s jacket I thought she would sniff and hug it. LOL!
What a difference… before he had to borrow his jacket to impress DM. Now he has his own and leaves it with DM.
And now we come to the scene where JP is just hateful.
That phonecall that didn’t get through, we will lead us to Episode 14 and DalMi and Dosan’s reconciliation…

@WEnchanteut – interesting insight on JP’s character! The writer did a lot of role reversals on the typical expectations of characters.
earlier in the episode Dosan was saying that his life back then in sk felt like a war, in 2sto he was in his comfort zone, symbolizes by that yacht in a calm ocean. But Dosan is made for adventure and back in that office handling the ransomware issue, it sparked something in him, a thrill and probably also a sense of accomplishment.
Elevator scene : when we get the worst of JP.
But also, soooooooo good scene.
Everything is perfect here.
BUT….. we have to wait next episode to get one of the best scene of the drama. 😀

Dalmi opened the music box way back after the han river date in Ep3. That meeting with Dosan gave her the courage to open her music box.
Epilogue – love DS’s mum. She has that knowing smile. Now we see the telephone conversation from DS’s end. Happy sigh.
DoSan’s mom is really smart!
I mean she knows her son pretty well… That smile says it all !
I also realized that the suit jacket or DS wearing a suit (when Dalmi asked him to build her confidence back in ep10) connotes to his hands and the support DS gave her during the networking party.

Ep13 is like a reset of DS and DM: DS supporting her at networking party is similar to the ransom ware event and DS in suit and big hands to save the day. It’s his real self now and they will have to clear the path to be together again.

However, the screenwriter did not try to make Dosan a typical male archetype. He is a guy full of doubts, strong and fragile at the same time. He has many scenes with crying crises. He is far from the standard of a hero played by actor Lee Jung Gi for example.
But as a counterbalance, she places the character of JP. And so, Dosan takes on much more of an edge with his sincerity. It redefines what it is to be manly. And being manly is not necessarily showing muscles or being brutal or violent, even if sometimes it help, but not so much. It’s just assuming your role as a man, or like Dosan to have the will to resist to dirty tricks. If you look at it from that point of view, one of the manliest men I’ve ever met in my life was five feet tall, and physically as fragile as a twig. He had a good job, a wife and 5 kids! Of course, you don’t need to be maried or have children, but you see what I mean.

@pkml3 screenshots? You do them too. Just pause and print screen. The resolution for this show is low though. I didn’t choose a high enough resolution to get clearer screenshots.
He’s driving really slow because he wanted to spend more time with her. 🙂 hahaha
But really now, he should have stayed in the outer lane if he was driving slowly.
That gets on my nerve when it’s a two lane road (two lanes going one direction, and two lanes going the other direction), and the slow driver is hogging the right lane (or the outer lane). The right lanes are either for passing or for faster cars. It’s just courtesy to stay on the left/slower lane and the let the other drivers get through. (lol. As you can tell, this is one of my pet peeves.)
I used to be able to take screenshots on Netflix and viki on my laptop. But now I can’t. Grrrr…
Cleopatra, the “money, money” acting was good but what I thought made Nam JooHyuk’s acting great was that little snort after his delivery. He sniveled in front of the camera like a little embarrassed kid. lol.

You can not only make the screenshot, but also choose the area directly.

Did it work for you on netflix? I don’t what happened. My laptop was working out fine then one day, it refused to take any more screenshots.
I wish I could ask my sons and brothers about this but my kdrama habit and my blog are secrets I’ll take to the grave. 🙂
FYI. The actor who played JP is going to do a romcom with Shin Mina (“My Girlfriend is a Gumiho”). Title of the drama, Seashore Village ChaChaCha. That drama is already on my list of shows to pick-up.

@Pm3, I don’t use netflix, but I suppose it’s like any other video on the screen. You can enlarge it, minimize or making it full screen.
Screenpresso go into the task bar (right bottom). If I remember, the software also get priority on windows when you click on “screenshot” on the keyboard.
Then, you have a red rectangle you can size, according what you want to shot.
What you take to the grave is weird. But just in case, I deleted all porn movies on my computer, a long time ago. Now I’m clean, and Ok with post-mortem kdrama revelation. 🙂
@Packmule3, what you are about to do is very cruel. You’re going to post convincing articles about the veracity of romance. All the girls on the old JP team will love you. And one day, they’ll find out the truth. The blogger they love so much has dragged their favorite hero through the mud in the past. You’re getting into a real kdrama scenario with something like that! Adulation, feelings of betrayal, inner conflicts (well, for them), maybe scenes of forgiveness and crying, redemption. This is going to be an epic storyline. You should talk to the writer of The Penthouse about it.
Oh I forgot : another good thing about this software, when you screenshot, you don’t have to past the picture in another software like paint or word.
The picture is saved automaticaly in a folder. /Images/screenpresso/ or something like that. You can go on a screenshot rush, screenshot many more than you want, then easely choose after that.
Otherwize, my favorite tech is to get the raw file, then screenshot all images of the drama, rate 2.4 pictures/second. Then I have 8000 pictures in a folder, all the drama episode. I do it with a another software. I don’t remember the name because I didnt reinstalled it yet (following the death of my previous computer).

Nobody will bat an eye with your porn material, Wenchanteur, unless you happen to be a monk, priest, school teacher or politician.
But if I tell people in my circle that I watch kdrama, they’ll think I’m having ANOTHER midlife crisis. 😈 Many people were introduced to kdrama during the COVID quarantine but to the general public, it’s still viewed as “niche” or “quirky” as owning a pet monkey.
Is that the plot of “The Penthouse”? Somebody mentioned it here (nrllee??) but I want a happy drama.
I can’t promise to love an actor/actress. I can only promise to give my honest take on a drama, and to analyze a show to the best of my ability.

It’s not the plot of Penthouse but it could make a small sub-plot. As long as it’s both funny, and a source of unrest, arguments, and over-dramatization. It will be very funny, but for the audience, since Penthouse is partly based on the self-parody aspect. But for the character (You!), it will be a terrible suffering! Plot-twist after plot-twist. The girls will hire a hacker to destroy your site. But plot-twist, you will have the help of someone who wants to help you to get revenge on these girls (a troubled story from the past, these girls bullied this person’s sister so much that she killed herself, certainly a Dosan fan). One of the girls will eventually understand your point of view and join you (a friend of this girl, even if she betrayed her but now she regret). You will cry together as the way was hard for her to do that. Acting feast! She become almost like your daughter. But she will be murdered. By whom? The other girls? No, there will be something else hidden behind it. An enemy of the person who helped you, certainly. Then the police will come to see you because you will have been falsely accused. On television, your reputation will be destroyed. “the blogger who pushes her readers to suicide”. This will certainly make you angry, scream, and you will shave everything on your table with a sharp gesture and destroy this. Acting feast! And then, you will have an urge for revenge (quite legitimate). And this will never stop! Even if you die! Your twin sister (whom you didn’t know existed) will come and take over the blog for you and continue your revenge.
All this in half an episode. That’s the crazy Penthouse spirit. 🙂
Screenwriter Kim Soon Ok is in my top list, as you can guess, with Song Jae Jung, Park Hye Ryun, Jang Young Chul + Jung Kyung Soon, and then next Hong Jung Eun + Hong Mi Ran.
