Am I wrong? Does it seem like the camaraderie of the gang is more fun to watch than the love-hate relationship of main couple? Their bickering isn’t working for me, perhaps because the main couple in “Alchemy of Souls” is doing a better job of shifting their feelings for each other from contractual master-pupil to mother-bird-and-egg to inseparable couple. Oh well…another drama bites the dust for me.

Enjoy the show!
Thanks @pkml3. Yes, pity about this couple. Fortunately, I’ve gone into this for the OTT shenanigans and actually would prefer to not have or would not care about any romance.
If anything, I thought a romance between the Prosecutor and Officer Han might have been cute. If he turns out to be a good guy, I’d have preferred that. But we know how Show is going to push it. The romance between Su Cheol and Hye Jun will be cute, though.
Show can’t go excessively in having the couple as too far from agreement to be able to bring them together convincingly.
Kalo mesimeri @Packmule3!
Yes, I am here for the Cafe gang and not for Detective Han.
Let us see what it will happen today.
Episode 7
I still like more the Cafe gang, although the police team gave us some laughing moments.
Not in my style, HOW Detective Han is continue harassing Nam. I am not in their loving arc either. As @GB Unnie said, it would be better if she ended up with the Prosecutor.
Episode 8
The plot thickens. As it seems the second in command in Joyce Entertainment and that Shaman lady are doing the killings together.
She is the mastermind and he is the pawn.
Still, I enjoy almost everything, except Detective Han.
Sorry, but the teaser scene in the last minute was not what I wanted to see. She toned down the kicks and her hysterical persona and now we have body harm in another way. No…Thank you. (S H I R O !!!)
Correction: Taser scene
I think Seo In Guk is having fun playing his character. But I’m not having fun watching his character be rude and mock others. I was annoyed to watch his behavior as Lieutenant Han made her first apology. Sincere or not, she did the responsible thing to speak out loud the right words. Nam Han Jun’s clowning through her apology was irresponsible.
When I first started watching Kdramas, one of the things that struck me was how a show could swing back and forth between drama and comedy. In this show, I think the emphasis on Three Stooges shenanigans makes the dramatic bits too jarring.
Annyeong,
You’re not wrong @Pm3 – i am loving the camaraderie/3-4 stooges shenanigans of the Cafe M gang vs the love-hate relationship between our main couple. sigh.
@GB i’m not sure about the prosecutor either. we can see how he likes Det. Han. but he’s keeping secrets. scary. maybe that’s why he’s keeping her close??
my highlights on these episodes are: the audition scene of chief and Det. Han *pretty good moves on the spot haha and the gang scampering over the phone at the beach making them stay overnight. these opposing gang managed to stay in an airbnb?? without any bickering? daebak. did we almost see a kiss?? hmmm The prosecutor got in the way. waaah.
Wait,@HKLady. Isn’t the prosecutor the serial killer? He isn’t??
I thought all along that he was serial killer, but I guess I wasn’t really paying attention to the show.
@pkml3, I’ve been wondering the same thing myself about Prosecutor. I don’t know how you jumped to that conclusion but I’ve been uneasy since I noticed that the serial killer wears nice shirts and has a burn mark on his wrist. We never get to see Prosecutor’s wrist. Killer, when he ran away, looked like it might be Prosecutor from the back.
I have not watched Ep 8 yet, but in Ep 7 we see Prosecutor knows the bad guy of Joyce Entertainment. He’s holding something over him as well. This could be nothing, but it’s suspicious.
There are of course several red herrings in the Show so that we’re wondering which of the young, spoilt, criminal types could be the killer. At the same time, Show is possibly the type to give Lt Han a slap in the face, by having her so close to the Killer all the time and constantly never suspecting him.
I do wish Han and Nam will just work together to avoid the constant crossing of paths and the undoing each other’s investigations. It’s getting old.
