Mr. Darcy is a dreamboat. And I like Matthew McFayden’s interpretation as much as Colin Firth’s because he showed that the arrogant character has a tender side.
And I still remember the kiss scene.
Mr. Darcy: How are you this evening, my dear?
Elizabeth: Very well. Only I wish you would not call me “my dear.”
Mr. Darcy: Why?
Elizabeth: Because it’s what my father always calls my mother when he’s crossed about something.
Mr. Darcy: What endearments am I allowed?
Elizabeth: Well, let me think. “Lizzy” for every day. “My pearl” for Sundays and “Goddess Divine” but only on very special occasions.
Mr. Darcy: And what shall I call you when I’m cross? “Mrs. Darcy?”
Elizabeth: No! No. You may call me “Mrs. Darcy” when you are completely and perfectly and incandescently happy.
Mr. Darcy: (repeating his original question) And how are you this evening, Mrs. Darcy? (kissing her forehead) Mrs. Darcy. (kissing her left ear) Mrs. Darcy. (kissing her left cheek) Mrs. Darcy. (kissing the right side of her lip) Mrs. Darcy. (kissing her lips)
Though the last scene is NOT from the novel, it completes the image of a happy-ever-after that I wanted for the couple.
The kdrama that comes to mind when I think of multiple butterfly kisses is “Tale of Nokdu.”
But there’s a difference between Matthew Macfayden and Jang DongYoon. The maturity — or should I say, experience? — of MM is perceptible.

What a happy post for Valentines Day @packmule3. The blindfold kiss in Healer, the keep the FL safe during the boat inspection in CLOY(a precursor of things to come fictional and in reality) all brought me chills. I also am thinking of two Persuasions, the one with Amanda Root and Ciarin Hinds and the other with Sally Hawkins and Rupert Penry-Jones( wonderful Anne Elliot and Capain Wentworth), not the monstrosity with Dakota Johnson. I became a Ciarin Hinds fan a fter I saw him portray the villain in Ivanhoe. He didn’t disappoint as Wentworth. Rupert Penry-Jones didn’t either. And Amanda Root and Sally Hawkins had the age and acting chops to deliver nuanc e d performances. The quote “All the privilege I claim for my own sex(it is not Avery enviable one; you need not covet it), is that of loving longest, when existence or when hoe is gone!” That gets me every time. Anne seaks to Captain Benwick and is overheard by Capain Wentworth. I swoon Iverson this. Happy Valentine’s Day BOD….

What a great idea to talk about kisses on Valentine’s Day, @packmule3! Kisses in dramas are my favourite scenes ever!
My top swoonworthy kisses (I’m sorry I can’t just stop at one LOL):
1) The kiss in snow from ‘Healer’ after the elevator rescue scene, with Park Min Young in a white cap and Ji Chang Wook lifts the cap from her lips slowly and kisses her…I squeal internally every time I watch that scene (if even if it the nth time watching it) 🙂

2) The kiss from ‘Crash Landing on You’ in the hospital after Hyun Bin/Ri Jeong Hyeok has just rescued Song Ye Jin/Yoon Se-Ri and got injured in the process. Se-Ri asks him not to look at her in “that wistful” way, to which he replies he is “just looking at her” (which is as blatant a lie as ever can be and everyone knows it), then proceeds to disprove his own words by leaning in to kiss her 🙂

3) The kissing scene from ‘The King Eternal Monarch’ (because of course, after Hyun Bin, I had to have Lee Min Ho on this list too 😉 ), where Lee Min Ho/Lee Gon kisses Kim Go-eun’s character on the neck and then leans in for more kisses (after teasing her for disrespecting a king):

I’m sure there are a lot of other k-drama kissing scenes which I’ve re-watched over and over again but these are the ones that are still stuck in my mind and heart.

We have similar favourites 🙂 I was actually going to list that boat scene in CLOY because Hyun Bin has a hilarious dialogue here on how in such situations in South Korean dramas, the couple always does one thing to escape being caught, to which an oblivious Se-Ri asks him to stop talking and do it!!

It’s still Valentine’s Day here on the West Coast of the USA, so I’m not late wishing all my BoD friends happiness and love today and always.
I think a beautifully created kiss scene is this one in Because This Is My First Life. The show gives context before the kiss, and the moment is well executed by the actors in their roles. I love how the director and cinematographer placed the couple in front of the column of sunset light streaming across the water.

There’s more to this kiss scene. It is not only one of the sweetest in Kdramas, but becomes one of the funniest. From the sublime to the ridiculous! I read that the actors had difficulty finishing this scene because they kept breaking into laughter, but eventually their professionalism prevailed.
@Welmaris Thank you for reminding me of this one. This is one of my favourite kiss scenes too (as I said, there are multiple others I liked but couldn’t recount). ‘Because This is My First Life’ is one of my favourite romantic yet realistic dramas,cute yet funny, and this kiss brings back to me why I like it so much. This is the couple’s first closeness, after being housemates and starting out with not liking each other’s habits at all.

Belated Happy Valentines BOD!!!
I finally resumed BECAUSE THIS IS MY FIRST LIFE and them funny moments got me hooked. and it’s interesting to see “MUDEOK” from Alchemy of Souls S1 in this role. i also saw her in THE SMILE HAS LEFT YOUR EYE.
I did love LOVE TO HATE YOU….. and now that’s it’s over, i’m sad. i guess, i can always rewatch.
