@pkml3, while we do thank you for this thread… the series ended at Episode 12!!! LOL. So we do not need this thread at all!!!
Perhaps you’d like to convert this to the ‘What Are We Watching in August Open Thread’?

@GrowingBeautifully, maybe this is an opportunity for some fanfic?

LOL @Welmaris, a good thought, but for a good fanfic writer.
Lovers of the ’19th Life’, feel free to write the continuing saga to your heart’s content LOL.

Chae Jong Hyeop as a rickshaw driver in the 1920s deserves his own drama. I imagine that he fell in love with a beautiful nightclub singer who was a secret member of the resistance. One day she was assigned to assassinate a high-level Japanese official. She accomplished her mission, but was wounded in the process. The rickshaw driver helped her escape and took her to his home town in the mountains to recuperate. He also became a member of the resistance and went on missions with his beloved.
Happy ending: our OTP survived the occupation and lived happily ever after, telling their children and grandchildren stories of their youth.

Bravo @Snow Flower! A spin-off I’m sure many of us would watch! 🙂

You’ve hooked me with your story, @Snowflower!

The rickshaw driver was Ji Eum’s 16th life. It seems that all of her previous lives were cut short. I just did not have the heart to kill off a character played by CJH, so I had to come up with a happy ending for him.

@Snowflower, in the 2010 BBC series Sherlock, there was an episode in which the murderous antagonist was, as Sherlock deduced, hiding in plain sight and moving freely in society. It turns out it was a cabby. That has made me think about other people who can be present, but treated as part of the background. I’ve heard it said that frumpy middle-aged ladies could be spies or thieves because nobody looks at them. So I wonder if a rickshaw puller would be thoroughly overlooked by passengers who might then divulge secrets in conversation. And as for Ji Eum’s 16th life, he was also a guitarist and composer, so if he fell in love with a nightclub singer, they would have music in common. I can imagine a lovely, exciting, heart-tugging drama about the two of them with an outstanding soundtrack.

@Welmaris, I imagine a drama with the retro vibes and high stakes romance of Bridal Mask (Gaksital) or Chicago Typewriter. A great soundtrack is a must, of course. A singer performing at a club frequented by high-level officials does make for a great spy, and so does an inconspicuous cab driver. Our dream drama also needs a wise cracking grandma and an affable ajussi. Cute little sister and/or a conflicted hyung round up the cast. And a best friend turned traitor with redemption arc.

@Snowflower, were you a screenwriter or playwright in one of your previous lives?

@Welmaris, I think I have watched too many dramas!

@Snow Flower, I was thinking you could write the score for the OST to accompany the Rickshaw Driver and his love.
