Is anyone else watching this. This is the third Kdrama murder/romance drama/comedy currently airing The other two are My Lovely Liar and Not Others. I feel like this is a uniquely Korean genre?!
The comedy is very broad and slap sticky. The characters very eccentric and not that likable. The touching of the butt to do psychic readings seems really dated and out of touch – although I do appreciate the double entendre of the title. There was a funny 25/21 parody between old lovers. And I did laugh at the fluorescent corral lipstick scene. I feel like I might get gradually sucked into this drama as the story unfolds. I’ll give it another episode or two to see where it leads.
I just started watching this drama this weekend. At this point, three episodes in, I’m here primarily for the 2521 parodies. I really thought the comedic moments were fun, but I also don’t know why they had to include abduction, violence, and (soon) murder. It seems a little off-kilter to me, somewhat like Crash course in romance, which was a lovely, slow budding romance embedded with a side story about murder by small metal projectiles.
My solution to this is probably that I am going to fast forward through any violent scenes and then watch with more attention any moment where there’s humor or, potentially, romance.
Are there 2521 parodies in every episode? I read somewhere online that they will be a parody of the fountain scene, but I’m not sure if I’ve seen it yet.

It’s rare for me to drop a kdrama this far in (the only other time I dropped a kdrama after episode 14 was Monthly Magazine Home, when the noble idiocy became ridiculous). But this has become more of a slasher show than a comedy. What the heck?!
I really don’t like how they show the vet as this hapless female, who doesn’t seem to know what to do when presented with an injured person. She wails in despair and looks at her blood-soaked hands. Lady, you’re someone who should know how to treat an injured animal. Do something. Also, before the person dies, you should know the drill by now–touch their bottom and get to the truth! And why she doesn’t call 911 when there is danger makes no sense to me. The people who show up can’t be the murderer if the murderer is there in front of her. Instead she insists on calling the detective, who may not be nearby.
Also, Detective Moon seems to be the worst detective in SK. His hunches have been all wrong. He and the vet decide the dairy farmer is the killer–but they had already ruled him out for one of the murders. (The vet had touched his bottom and found he had been drinking all day.) Sloppy plotting.
Why would the major crimes unit not have patrols around the village to try to prevent another killing? Or impose a curfew. That’s weird.
At this point there are so few villagers/main characters left standing, it’s getting easier to predict who the killer might be. One possible suspect: the shaman. In a Twin Peaks-like twist, he could be possessed by not Gen. McArthur but an evil mountain spirit he picked up while praying in the mountains. They keep showing him touching things and some kind of energy thing emanating from his hands. Plus he was the first person that the vet touched after she left Ji-Suk. Or it could be Ae-Ran. (Gwang-Sik didn’t want the vet to touch her bottom.) Or the aunt’s ex. Or the detective himself–all these murders began when he showed up to town. Who else is left that it could be? At this point, I don’t really care.
I only watched this because it promised to be light and fun. I didn’t need another murder mystery. Sigh.
