Thanks @pkml3! 13 hours and counting!!!

  2. Hello dear @GB!, how are you? 😀

  3. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi@FGB! I’m glad to see you up sooooo early. I trust you’ve made your breakfast and are going to be comfortably ensconced in front of your computer?

  4. Hello @GB, Hello @FGB

  5. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @FF, I saw that you put in some comments in MDL for Lost You Forever’s Discussions on XL and XY. At least I think it’s you unless there’s another @feifei on MDL.

  6. @GB,that’s not me. Must be another feifei.

  7. Shall we start?

  8. Hello @FF, how are you?, we are seconds away 😉

  9. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF OK, I’ll note that it’s not you.

I don’t comment there but suddenly I noticed the discussion topics and fell into a rabbit hole LOL.

  10. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    Hi All, Start…. starting …started.

    The naughty kiss LOL.

  11. I am not getting these posts into my email box?

  12. HI Monmor, I just keep refreshing the page.

  13. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@Monmor (@MM) just keep posting while clicking on ‘Notify me ….by email.” and it should come it next time. Sometimes I had to Re-subscribe to the thread to get it to work.

  14. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hah! We hear the string of lies that HJ is able to come up with.

  15. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

LOL be careful of your lips!!!
I like the multi contextual joke.
Mgr Jo is seriously joking that BD should guard his lips because HJ is impulsive and might kiss them….
    while
BD is mirthfully laughing because HJ had seriously kissed him just a few minutes prior to this…
    while
HJ is seriously upset because she has been caught out in her lie that a kiss is the normal goodbye.

  16. I am trying to figure out what the green marks on the elevator walls are.. It looks like hearts and snowflakes but reminds me of saint patrick’s day shamrock’s. Several times the camera highlights the talisman in this scene. Also what are all the symbols on her dress? They look like images that could relate to time travel gloBEs and such.

  17. Bong Do as always is very alert, tried to avoid being caught by the manager.

He finally learns how to greet people and say goodbye the proper way.

  18. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hmmm @WE is conspicuous by his absence today!!!

LOL BD is smiling to himself. We know who the true player is!

  19. Jumping. Aggh. I was late returning from outside.

  20. Someone is sweating bullets in that car XD XD XD XD XD

  21. I particularly enjoyed the scene in the car. The teasing and embarrassment palpable.

  22. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@MM, no need to read too much into the surroundings for this show. I don’t think gave us any foreshadowing or accompanying metaphors.

  23. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hah! @WE… missed you at once!

  24. @Monmor, you are sharp! the green things makes up a heart shape with the word happy in the center.

  25. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FGB, serves her right! The naughty girl!

  26. I am noticing their coordinating outfits in the scene in the library after hours. Good wardrobe choices.

  27. I’m at a car scene.
Curious friend want to know all about the hot guy and shamelessly practice interrogatory. ^^

    Hi everybody!!

  28. Hello @MM, sometimes @GB has the same issue, that is why she posts in advance when she is interested in one show or Post: so she can check if her configuration is right 😉

  29. HI @WE.

  30. So he learn we don’t kiss to say goodbye.
But I’ve really the feeling he knew it before.
The guy is too smart to not guess that. 😉
By the way, he have a complicit smile when he leaves.

  31. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, I’ve at the return to the library to check the CCTV for the lift kiss. So many lies being told to get the security guard to help them.

  32. As the romance starts, I am thinking that.
The focus on the talisman In the elevator is probably a conscious choice of the director or cinematographer.

  33. 2 ladies heading to the library at night after it closes. So Hui Jin confessed that she kissed Bong Do in the elevator.

The security guy is so gullible, how can he release the footage so easily.

  34. It’s very like some live theatrical piece: everyone learn everything about everyone.
    Like ex-boyfriend here. 🙂

  35. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@MM BD was about to use the talisman so it’s the focus on and off. But he makes an appearance back in the library again.

I like his question: “Why are there no blind spots in this world?”
What does it say about our times that we need CCTVs everywhere.

  36. It’s just “a confused moment”. ^^

  37. Bong Do did not return to his era.

  38. Her manager is a good friend 🙂

  39. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Coming to the 2nd kiss by the REAL player in this twosome LOL.

  40. @WE, how are you?, you are welcomed anytime 😀

  41. She seemed suspicious of you, he clarifies.

  42. The friend get easely angry, but FL don’t much react, like she’s on cloud-nine. 🙂

Im in scene with camera. But camera was out of service.
Now the lie come back and she have to say more bullshit.

  43. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FGB, I don’t know whether to be annoyed with or commiserate with HJ’s manager Jo. She has a job to do and HJ to protect but at the same time she’s her good friend.

  44. Thanks FGB. 😉
There were more people than expected at the grocery store, so I was late. Hey /. .\

  45. Romantic discussion in the library.
The drama focus a loooot on the cute and cheesy romance. 🙂

  46. Bong Do’s line “our meeting is not accidental but inevitable” is a killer line.

  47. End of library scene: Here the song of the drama. My favorite.
I guess one more kiss.. yeahhhh.

  48. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, yes, I like that line too. With the talisman, history changed so that what happens shifts direction and BD’s ‘fate’ is also on a different trajectory. Perhaps it became inevitable that he should get entangled with either the real or the actor Queen In Hyun.

  49. How he speaks about her being his teacher. Mostly tongue in cheek but also respectfully.

  50. Oh we get a second kiss.

  51. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@MM He knew that he was being played by HJ, but he played along and kissed her back. So without words they already know that they like each other.

  52. Here he calculate time.
He understood the gap is the same present/past.
So, if he quit the past at 5am and spend 3h in current day then return, he goes in the past at 8am.

  53. @GB, you have phrase it so aptly.

I need to find out what is Gabsul.

  54. I like how he turns it around on her. Did i do it properly this time? Whe he kisses he after hours in the library.

  55. The scene is well made with split blurry screen, book text, his face, images from the past.
He see he’s not in the past in the book.
only two meaning: he’s dead in the wild or… (I don’t know if he think about that)… is definitely in present time. For dramatism, the writer have to make us believe he’s dead. 🙂

  56. Goooshhh. The scene of seaguk.
When she put her head on the king’s shoulder.
    Saying “Chooona”.
Watch Jang Ok Jung, there are scenes like that.
    Chooonaaa.

  57. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, Yes they keep calling out to the king (sounds like Jeonhwa to me).

Now HJ hears that he’ll die ‘tomorrow’ 300 years ago.

  58. She’s making quiclky friend with the writer because she goes in a library. Nice.

  59. Dong Min is so funny, Bed scene? Ok!

  60. Oh nice!! Here a SJJ screenwriting trick.
Instead of telling with the FL-Writer dialog, she switches into imaginary scenes from the past.

  61. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, among all the characters, Dong Min is the worst player!

  62. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, it becomes a bit unclear if the scenes are true history or imagined. They could really have happened.

  63. @GB, yeah Dong Min is the worst so full of himself.

  64. I didn’t follow who he was supposed to have killed?

  65. @GB: next scenes the answer. Very clever.
These imaginary scenes turn true. So SJJ win time with the story in the past, and goes directly to what happens next. Greaaaaaat!!!

  66. @WE, for a moment I thought those scenes were real.

  67. Now the writer prepare a trap for the ML. Because he’s in Jeju and won’t have a choice but go to Seoul using a plane: so quick travel is impossible in the past. What will alert the villain… and create problems for him.

  68. @feifei, well, there was a blue filter to make feel it imaginary. Yes imaginary for the two women telling that. But finally, they were real scenes. 😉

  69. @GB, him kissing her back is not only a gesture of reciprocity in their feelings… it is also Bong-Doo claiming agency in their relationship. She has been her Teacher about life in Modern World and “abused” her authority by kissing him and telling him that was a normal greeteing 😉 . By kissing her back and by saying that that was reserved to lovers in his era he made her understand that her jig was up in a sassy way 😀

She better gives him the facts he needs 😉

  70. I am thinking.
That the arrow that skims his forehead and causes him to bleed Is an additional way of illustrating the degree of his bravery and that he did have anxiety about it.

  71. As a scholar, he knock out a killer with a book, lol.

  72. Sorry, HIS teacher XD XD XD

  73. @Monmor: he could die here. Notice, he immediatly put the talisman in his pocket, because the talisman would save his life if he’s pierced by a arrow.

  74. I did not get the imaginary versus real Scenes
And the significance of the blue filter. Thank you I am rewatching that now

  75. The dialog between 2 friends is gold so it’s absurd. ^^

  76. Phone conversation: with the Joseon music. Giving a kind of ridiculeous feeling to me. 😀

  77. Crying over a man who died 300 years ago, sure is ridiculous.

    So he called from Jeju.

  78. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, yes, SJJ is good at doubling or tripling screens with concurrent scenes and like in this case, show not tell imagined scenes that become true. A lot is packed into 47 minutes.

  79. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Finally when he’s supposed to be dead, he contacts her first. 3 days trying to learn how to use the phone… 3 day in the tomb and resurrected LOL.

  80. @ GB. I was having the same thought about how much is packed Into the last 10 minutes which I do not have time to watch now Because I need to do my groceries.

Thank you for the advice regarding my not getting the email posts.

  81. @GB, oh, I didn’t notice the Jesus reference, lol!

I quit now. Have a good day everybody! =B

  82. Bye everyone, see you next week.

  83. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Bye @WE!! I’m going to leave soon too. Thanks everyone and see you next week!

  84. Hi and good bye all. Late coming from AM farmer’s market in town. Thx for your insights. First part of this episode is both charming and cheesy and heightens my investment in these two as a destined couple. @GB I noticed the 3 day phone reference too. Meant to stamp him as “a good person” not a “player” perhaps? Watching this concurrently with another 2012 drama Love Rain. Realizing that my vibe is definitely older romcoms.

  85. Hui Jin crying for someone that died over 300 years ago… someone is going deeper in researching her role than she should 😀

  86. Bye to all of you, it has been a pleasure 😀 .

@LL, welcome back!, if you want you can watch and comment the episode, there are lurkers like me that loves to come back and enjoy newer Posts 😉

  87. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @LL, I watched enough of Love Rain to know that it’s not my cup of tea. Hope you enjoy it nevertheless! Yes, as @FGB says, you can still come back to add your thoughts. We drop in to read when we get the notifications. 🙂

  88. @FGB4877 Thx for the welcome. Also important occurrence in library late night is that GBD admits that he trusts Hui Jin. This trust shared between them must survive many challenges for us to get the outcome we hope for, and that make for a great drama.

  89. Hui Jin is such a player that she has decided Bong Doo is. Loved how she decided that Yangbangs had definitely more knowledge on women than the modern man since they had many wives, concubines and even Giasengs.

  90. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FGB, you’re right! From the beginning it was HJ who was the one approaching BD, however she justifies herself or is totally blind to her own foibles by transference LOL.

IKR, I didn’t really think of it, but now that you bring it up, it’s hilarious that she equates the number of categories of women in Korean history to the amount of knowledge men should have of them. One of the most un-self-aware characters as FL, and prone to strange logic LOLOL.

  91. I am wondering if the 3 day reference foreshadows a future scene?

  92. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@MM, can you give us the timestamp of when the 3-day reference crops up in Episode 5?

  93. I will look for the timestamp. It is during a conversation with her manager in the coffee shop. Also there is cringe music.

  94. timestamp 45 minutes -specifically 45 min 20 seconds interestingly the trasnslation says 4 days but then her assistant references Jesus’ resurrection. I am noting this because of the idea that there is life in death, as the talisman represents(Buddhist notion) and we see many times in BD’s journey.
