Kalimera @Packmule3 et al!
I am one episode behind you all. Hopefully I will catch up!
Thank you, @packmule3. I hope you are well.
I have the last episode to finish, but am looking forward.
So, this gardener guy is a killer and a dark magician. He is the one inciting the Curse between them.
He brought the red hand by making a blood spell and he used SY’s shirt and HJ’s gloves. This dark magic is inside the pot that was brought to his Office. This means he might remember his past life as well.
The thing is why the Shaman doesn’t give them vital information about his involvement!?
As for the SML, he might be brainwashed with a spell as well.
Also, I do hope Divine Justice will bring to both NaYeon and the Gardener, the punishment they both deserve… They are just awful.
P.S. Regarding to what happened in the past, I think that SY’s previous reincarnation did not actually killed her. He could be used as a tool for her demise, but I don’t think he did it himself. The Curse is real though.
So, I am waiting to see how they will explain his involvement.
I have “See you in my 19th Life” vibes. I do hope the jakkanim has a clear view in this one and don’t mess it.
His expression when she told him he was pretty was priceless! Glad this episode brought back the humor. He’s a giraffe and you’re a bear. 😂
Kalimera!
I think there was a reason that Hong Joo was forced to the pit. I think the gardener is using his past life’s knowledge to awaken Hong Joo’s memories from her previous reincarnation, in order to further torment Shin Yu.
BUT,
I think that in this lifetime, they will chose just to be with each other regardless of what everyone says. *fingers crossed*
Oli wrote in the previous thread what the Shaman Lady said to Shin Yu and now is the time to revisit it:
“It’s a woman you killed
The owner of the bloody hand that caresses you cheek
Karma will swallow you and you will struggle in horrible pain
But all the pain and curses will end.
Finally, the owner of the wooden box showed up.”
As it seems, Shin Yu is not CURSED only once.
We know that Hong Joo in her previous life did curse him – it remains to be seen how she died and what the Turenim did to her.
In this life, we know that the Gardener is cursing them both, but he aims mostly at Shin Yu, that’s why he asked him “why he looks fine” in their City Hall encounter.
The first Curse one was outside the Shrine, with that hanging doll that was wearing HJ’s pjs.
The second one is more lethal than the previous one, was with SY’s bloody shirt and HJ’s gloves that NaYeon brought to him. The second curse brought back the Bloody Hand. The cursed item is beneath the plant NaYeon brought to Shin Yu’s office in the City Hall.
That means that Hong Joo, as the owner of the wooden box, helped Shin Yu with her spells.
The thing I really want to know is that Hong Joo in her past life “knew” her Fate from their second encounter as children. She knew she will become the Bloody Hand.
As she was growing she should get more visions that her demise was near and by the hand of the man she loved.
So, did she also know she will return in the future? If yes, it remains to be seen.
That’s my thoughts for now.
After watching Episode 13 ‘s Preview I am frustrated… 😬
I felt more engaged in this episode than I have for awhile. Are you thinking the show will revert to BREAK UP TROPE IN THE PRESENT AND NOT GIVE US THE STORY FROM THE PAST WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR? or for another reason?
@monmor,
Kindly refrain from using caps when posting. Thanks.

Just watched ep.12. It’s still grabbing me but the writer is still making FL out as a ditsy naive girl! At this stage it’s getting tiresome. I know they want Rowoon to look like the knight in shining armour but does she have to look stupid to achieve that! 🙄 I think the comedic scenes are actually uplifting and from that aspect it actually, dare I say it, outperforms King the Land. On that subject I think Rowoon and Lee Jun ho are really flying the flag for Kpop idols turning actors. They are both excellent and getting better. Hope they get more diverse roles to prove it!
Welcome to the blog, @Redser.
Lol. I was wondering why Kim SeJeong (“A Business Proposal” and “Uncanny Counter”) didn’t take on this role. Now I know why. She couldn’t act ditsy and naive.
Every time the FL goes all alone into the woods, to distant sites or to the garden shop I wonder why. She’s even doing it on her own time, so I’m frustrated with her. I agree with @Redser. It’s standard, predictable horror stuff. In RL I would think that the city council would have people go out in teams to visit sites, not only for safeguarding but also to have witnesses to any problems.
It looks like this show was filmed in the winter and early spring. I would have loved to see Kim SeJeong here, but even if it were offered to her, she might not have had time. Kim SeJeong is pretty busy these days with a solo album and tour. Uncanny Counter 2 may have been filmed at the same time as Destined with You.
@Cleopatra, I felt that when Aeng Cho spoke about the curse, she was devastated that Shin Yu’s ancestor would be cursed. She didn’t say, I curse you because you are killing me, she said, “Whoever kills me would be cursed.” If the translation is correct, this is a conditional action. In other words, “If anyone kills me, then they would be cursed.” as though the curse was set in advance, by her or even by someone else. If she was condemned to be killed by dismemberment and it was inescapable, I wonder if the Jang ancestor thought he was being merciful to stab her.
As we left episode 12, Shin Yu flinches when Hong Joo goes to touch his face. She already saw the pain of his dream when she touched his face as he slept. From the previews, I think there will be a distance between them until more detailed memory returns.
It’s not the same, but it reminds me a little bit of King Midas, whose touch was deadly to living things.
I noticed that when Aeng Cho wrote, she wrote with her left hand. But she used her right hand to touch the Jang ancestor’s face. I wonder if that is significant somehow. I got this from the internet: “In South Korea, for instance, left-handedness has long been associated with impurity — giving or receiving items must be done with the right or both hands, never the left.”
I wonder how Mr Na got let out of jail. Lack of evidence, I suppose. He looked pretty self-satisfied. What’s with his wife’s body being skeletonised but not the hands? That’s rather odd.
@Fern, I’ll second you in your comments. I mean the gardener was said to have been caught but he got out. They should say his being investigated then.
I don’t like as well that HJ goes to places where it could be dangerous. 🙄
I have to say I’m loving Rowoon here. He delivers for me. I can’t say about Jo Boah though. I didn’t mind her before but here I feel it’s really acting for her, I mean I’m not finding her as natural. This is just me.
I mean that scene where she was waiting for SY to give him the frog turned prince kiss. I thought it wasn’t HJ doing that, she was more reserved before but I thought she’s someone else. Or maybe it’s just me. 😂
