Thank you @pkml3! Compared to the My Demon villains, this show’s villain gets to be positively hateful and ‘gormful’ LOL. I positively despised this old man and his repeatedly pouty lips.

  2. I find myself half-laughing, half-cringing at the villains in “My Demon.” They’re so over-the-top!

Gotta go. It’s the last dinner party on our calendar before Christmas (hurray!), and I’ve been told that the traffic to the hotel is awful and parking is tight.

  3. I am still recovering from surgery So I will miss today’s rewatch. I probably would have managed to watch if I could have found the show. But I think I need to.
Do more Heavylifting in order to find a good copy of this show to watch.

  4. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @MM, I’m sorry to hear that you can’t find a good copy of this show. I hope your recovery is progressing well. I have to do battle with sleepiness in order to party. I’ll be back in an hour!

  5. Hi @MM, have a good rest !

  6. Hello @MM. Be well!

I am ready for the rewatch.

  7. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi Everyone, I’m here. We are about to start in 1 minute!!

  8. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Hi @SD, I’m ready too… I hope the video does not suddenly pause on me.

    OK we start…. NOW!!!

  9. Hi GB and SD.

  10. Hi everyone, @MM get well soon.

  11. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    Hi @WE!

So we begin after he attacks bad guy on national TV. The sh@t hits the fan.

  12. Hi FF.

It’s start on Yeong Hoon, Sun Woo friend.

  13. bad guy: Choi Jin Chul.

  14. Min Young is not so dense after all, she suspected something wrong with Sun Woo and calls up his doctor friend to confirm her suspicions.

We notice the split screens too.

  15. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    Hi @FF!

Poor Min Young gets the news about Sun Woo.

  16. Min Young crying. Now she understand why it’s a 6 month mariage.

  17. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, this Writer likes split screens, we notice!! So far every show I’ve seen of hers has them.

  18. @FF, same director than QIHM.
Also: while 9 aired after, the script was done before the one of QIHM. (to confirm)

  19. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

Because MY now knows what SW was trying to do with a 6-month marriage, we will get the lovey-dovey scenes as she plays along.

  20. @GB, split screen are director (or editor) decision. You don’t have ones in W or MOTA.

  21. @GB, the split screens style is similar to Queen In Hyun’s Man. Sometime there are as many as 4 screens.

Nice boss showing up at Sun Woo’s house.

  22. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, Director’s decision? I only see them for SJJ dramas.

  23. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, yes this is one rare nice boss in kdramaland. He even takes full responsibility for SW so he’s putting his own job on the line.

  24. So I did find a copy of the show on tubi. When I had looked a few times before I could find it but it would not play. Who knows why?

So I am part way through the first episode. Things I missed before. Why does he have headaches, is taking pills and throwing up?

Thinking about the relationship scenes as set up is much more helpful than trying to figure out. What is actually going on. I like how they showed When the photo was taken that was found with his dead brother’s body.

I also now know who park hyungsik is.

I reviewed the comments for episode one a few days ago. But none of them are fresh in my memory. I don’t think I will catch up with you guys to. Day. But maybe next week.

Now that I am awake. I realize that I am feeling better and will try to do some more Christmas prep.
My son and his wife Arrive today if air canada is up for it. So far no horrendous snowstorms that I know of are in the forecast. And my daughter from japan who arrived last week is off partying with her friends! Visits to niagara falls have many purposes.

  25. @GB, it’s from Kim Byung Soo director. You recognize his style in 9, QIHM and The Three Musketeers.
He did some others drama but I didn’t watched them. Probably he uses split screen into it too.

  26. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@MM All the best for your Christmas prep and I hope your son and daughter-in-law make it nice and safe!

  27. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, I see… so I look out for this director then.

I like this return to the past… he picks up the pager and that’s how he later on gets to talk to his young self.

  28. Headhache. Always give some illness to characters. It’s so painful.

He sees the incense stick. Light it.
Yeah, this could calm down his headache.

  29. Sun Woo lights the incense, he must be thinking that it helps him relaxed and fall asleep the last time so he should try it again. And then he time travelled without realizing that.

  30. His mother meets him. But probably she doesn’t see his face well, because later he will meets her again.

  31. Why is the brother so aggressive? He came out with a baseball bat and start hitting the Sun Woo without clarifications.

  32. Biblical music, and he’s back.
    Then serious piano music.
He’s lucky because again, he put the stick on a plat and it didn’t entirely burned.

  33. @FF, his mother was screaming. And anyway, it’s how I’d react if someone unknow is in my home at night.

  34. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF, yeah the brother was too young and panicky. He was worried about his mother who already looked a bit frail mentally.

  35. I got way behind. Made coffee for my youngest son (and my computer froze). All and all it took longer than expected.

  36. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE His mother does not yet have the memories that a stranger was in their house.

His good doctor friend keeps scolding him.

  37. His blood is the proof it wasn’t a dream or hallucination. wZAAefrFZZZA, Goosebumps!

  38. I put on pause on the suture scene, so you can catch up; SD.

  39. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

My video freezes now and then for this show. I think it’s because this video is of very high resolution and the subs are separate. The apps keep stalling.

  40. @GB, I was speaking of the scene when he breaks her glasses and buy her new ones. 😉

  41. So do we all pause at the suture scene?

  42. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@WE, I was pausing just now and then the video stalled. So I’m just letting it play on.

Another bad headache and now he’s at the station and hearing MY’s voice on TV. So he knows that she knows that he’s sick and dying.

  43. @FF, yeah we can, it’s short episodes.

  44. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

I’m ahead now and LOL I see MY do a bad sign on camera with all her colleagues watching LOL.

  45. AH, it’s messy. I’ll continue, or it will do just more mess, now GB is ahead and for some reason on a horse in galop and can’t stop. Crazy.

  46. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

More scolding going on!!! SW and MY showdown on split screen.

  47. @WE, ok we all gallop on.

  48. He’s so painful to refuse a threatment.
    This guy is suicidal?

  49. Hi all. I am way behind. No need to pause. When he hears his mother’s voice and goes to check. That scene really hooked me the first time. Even though we know by then that there is something strange about the incense sticks.

  50. He looks at her on TV. Maybe now he finds her pretty?

  51. Min Young scolded Sun Woo so harshly, all those hurtful words. Sun Woo as usual is levelheaded in his replies. Now I do not find him rude like the previous episode.

  52. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

MY is too rude to her superior and in front of all the colleagues.

Is everyone reaching the part where the housekeeper finds the pager?

  53. I found out the actress has a role in 7 escape. But because of her hair, I couldn’t recognize her. Even today, she’s still pretty.

  54. @WE did you check her out in Parasite?

  55. @FF, it’s okay, when we add all the charge in the drama, he makes her suffer 90% more than the opposite. 😉

  56. @GB, just reach the housekeeper hearing the pager beeping.

  57. Hi all, joining late having slept in a bit because of bad night of sleep. I am reminded that pagers never hit my part of the world when watching this and a few other Kdramas. Not sure why but seems to tie in with fact that US was slower with getting cell phones too.
Storyline developing well until Sun Woo decides to experiment with incense stick barely a few minutes before going on air, especially after hubbub he caused for studio with his expose’

  58. @FF, no, are you sure it’s her?
I didn’t find Parasite in her filmography.

  59. @WE, he made her suffer? But @GB says he is very nice to her.

  60. He plays the cool jerk mixing some compliment and teasing.

  61. @FF, no, we could see already how he is, saying she’s not sexy, etc. Then later in the drama, he makes her suffer a lot more. The female lead is again a masochistic woman like SJJ often does. ahah.

  62. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

I’m at the puzzling disappearance of SW in his dressing room. He caused panic all over the station.

  63. @WE, my bad she’s not in Parasite.

  64. This first incense stick is endless.

  65. I like the way they introduce the meet up over the phone between the Sun Woo(s).

  66. Still behind. Looks like SW friend, Dr. Han is not on call. Ha ha. I like his character in this; the frustrated friend. And, I was about to agree with @FF and @GB about the nice boss when my computer went wonky for a bit. Also just nice to see the actor playing someone who isn’t an over-the-top villain.

Hello @LL. Doctor’s had pagers in the US. Of course, they had to find a phone afterwards.

  67. This should be the last time he uses the 1st incense because it should burn out totally since it is not place horizontally on a plate? But I think not, he should use it to find more incense.

  68. Oh. He call himself…
And we see his younger self touching his mouth.

  69. Dr. Choi is prissy even when he is washing his hands! LoL. The actor plays an extremely annoying character well.

  70. @FF, yeah! Exactly, I was thinking about the same.
But I don’t remember what happen next.
In some way, this stick doesn’t burn all the way.
While the further ones will do.

  71. @SD, Dr.Choi the villain? And he has to fix his hair when there is really nothing much to fix.

  72. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@FF Bad guy Dr Choi is soooo irritating.

  73. @FF, I am not much ahead in my first watch let alone the rewatch. So I am not sure if Dr. Choi is the villain. But certainly our ML, SW, thinks that Dr. Choi is the cause of all of his family’s misfortune.

  74. Two things I realized this rewatch. 1) the pager keeps paging even though it is from the past (reverse of Queen In Hyun’s Man); 2) the incense does not affect the two subordinates who come into the dressing room. Does it just affect SW and his brother? Does it just affect the person who lights it? Hmm.

  75. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@SD, yes, we are able to piece together the logic of the time travel a bit.

I found it strange in the scene where he goes back in time to see his mother and brother, that after breaking the glass of the fish tank, he was not pursued anymore. He was able to climb up the stairs and return to his room.

  76. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    See you all next week!

  77. It’s time to go for me. I wish you a good week. 😉

  78. @GB, I thought that strange as well. Why would the brother and mother allow him to go back upstairs? Was he back in the current time? Except for the (stupid) sculpture in the living room area, the modern day house seemed very retro. It was not always obvious what era it was except, clearly, his bedroom (which looked like an office or motel room in the ‘modern’ era and a messy boy’s room earlier. I think I will go back and double check.

  79. No he is still in the past when he goes upstairs. The painting is different (older era). The wallpaper does not change though (LOL). I wonder if this is deliberate. The mother’s decline reflected in the interior of the house. Or if it was just too expensive to change the wallpaper on set.

    Bye for now.

  80. @gb I don’t remember very many lovey dovey scenes. What I remember is their relationship being reset so many times.

  81. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

@MM, yes their relationship was reset and beset with complications because SW manipulated time 20 years in the past. He had to keep changing things to bring about a result that he wanted in the present.

I do recall that one kiss scene that was quite yummy. It made me think that the actor is good at acting kiss scenes LOL. 🙂

  82. GrowingBeautifully (GB)

    @SD and Everyone,
Let’s see if the time jump back and forth logic is consistent:

    – Incense burns – a second or so later SW alone is 20 years in the past (same place, same time on the clock but different year).
    – He loses cellphone signal because the network did not exist in the past.
    – Both in past and present, he does not lose Pager signal because it’s tied to the telephone line that still exists.
    – Incense stops burning – Sun Woo finds himself back in his time, at whatever location he last was when in the past. (Too bad if he pops up at the edge of a cliff or in the middle of a busy road).
    – Later, the memories of changes he made in the past will come to all the people affected. (See later episodes)
