Never Forget: 9-11

As a Washingtonian, I’ll never forget this day.

I remember calling up husband and telling him to pick up our boys from school and drive to our vacation home, far away from the city. I would follow them when I could.

I remember mobilizing. I remember the horror of watching people jump to their deaths from the Twin Towers. I remember praying the “Hail Mary” and “St Michael the Archangel.”  I remember my intense fury at the attack, and my impotent urge to strike back hard at the enemies. I remember thinking life would never be the same way again. These things are forever etched in my mind and I won’t forget.

I hope many New Yorkers won’t, forget, too, when they take to the polls this November.

  1. In two of my classes at our school in Asia we read George W. Bush’s 9/11 speech today. We will never forget.

  2. I will never forget. 🙏🏼

  3. I was vacationing with my family in Niagara falls Canada and when we saw the images, we packed up and left to enter the US; Security was so tight at the border that it scared us – even though we are American citizens. We were to fly out of Buffalo and all the flights were grounded. We stayed at a hotel that day and next day we went to a friends family in Rochester and stayed there for a week before heading back to california. It was a scary experience to see all the pain and suffering. I still tear up just thinking about when the day rolls on every year and cannot even begin to fathom what family members who had lost their lives would be going through.

Never Forget and learn from those experiences.

A very sad day in the history of America 😪

I did actually remember when the date came around and prayed a prayer.
