Hi Everyone! I’m watching the Episode now quickly so that I can read comments more than watch later. See you in 10 minutes time!!
Hi GB.
It’s the last episode I rewatched before rewatch.
Then I’d need to continue quickly.
@WE, what do you mean? Ep 8 is the last episode you watched before we started this party? So you have not watched Ep 9 yet?
HI Im here! starting…
Hi @IB!
Today’s episode is “Price and Prejudice” – and we can see who is prejudiced.
Hi IF.
I mean I watched the whole drama few years ago. (and probably rewatched it by the way).
But before we start the rewatch, I rewatched again, up to Ep8.
@WE, the big roadblock is the Chief Prosecutor.
Forgot to say go.
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@WE, we have GO…GONE!!!
The Cop has a secret, and his ex-co-homer knows it. So can blackmail for he proves he’s innocent. Not sure he really needed to do that, but the Cop character is for me a bit blurry, taking some immoral decisions sometimes.
Hi @GB, @WE, @IB. I am starting late!
Hi @GB, @WE, @IB, I have started too.
Hi @SD!
Woo Tak pretends he’s crying because she hits him. LOL.
Writer good old trick. 😉
Hi @FF!
Hi @SD.
@WE Woo Tak really bothers about this friend to the extent he’d cry!
We still distrust WT, show has gone to great lengths to create this…
Woo Tak and friend used to be roommates, I wonder why they no longer live together.
JC stops Woo Tak from hugging HJ, 😛
Hi FF and SD.
I presume the IT man is innocent. He accepted to be arrested, the ball is in the 3 dreamers hand now.
@FF JC is the easily jealous sort. And petty!!
YongDuk Giant Crab! laughing..
Hi @FF
@WE The dreamers need to dream up the one who drew the blood lines on the floor in the dead woman’s apartment.
I don’t think I’ll be able to join you today. Family Obligations.
@IB I wonder why she calls him the crab in her phone. Was it one of the first dishes that he ordered at her mum’s restaurant?
Hi MM! Okay. Family is definitely more important!
intercut with story of the original three — does HJ trust JC? Then and now, she gets there in the end.
Hi MM, yet, thank you to say hello. 😉
Hi @MM. Maybe next week?
BYe MM!
GBI think its just one of the original jokes. w/the lady at the shop, about JC’s visuals/leg length? Their love isnt a dream, it exists in a community/comedy
game of truth or lies at the breakfast table; in the end the two MLs both lie to help each other out.
@WE, I’m trying to figure out why there’s an intercut with the characters when they were young at this stage.
HJ is determined that JC should find Do Kyoung guilty. She’s the most prejudiced at the moment.
JC is trying to be neutral and objective but it’s tough because he wants to please HJ. What price are they willing to exact for their prejudice?
@GB, I don’t know, I didn’t see any flashback, I’m at 20:00 ??
LOL HJ dreams of JC buying her a ring and is all flustered at breakfast.
HJ’s mum is so direct, she asks U-Tak if he is interested in HJ at the breakfast table.
I have to say I enjoyed the judicial church choir aside. Another one of those little breaks that the writer gives us for a little extra humor.
@WE, time stamp 12:55 … there was already a flashback to their deciding to chase the ahjusshi at the wake of their fathers.
The sec’y’s little leap as she follows WT out. Her spring days!
7000 pages for the case. Huh. It’s crazy. I guess the writer did research about that. No wonder why justice is so slow.
@FF I find HJ’s mother quite irritating at this breakfast. It’s almost a game of truth or dare but she should not ask that last question.
In the end one of the answers is a lie.
I wonder if they still print all those documents for legal proceedings these days.
Hehe, though the glass again!
@GB, Ooops, it slipped on me, because I watched it before. Why the flashback here?
So, probably because of the military-killer brother. Who is the brother now? Where he is?
@SD, Yes, I loved that prosecution choir. Harks back to how Chief Prosecutor’s prayer before meals is a sham to hide his criticism of his team. He is also quite a pain in how he intimidates his team to take his side.
@GB. I also find the cut to the past a little strange, in that it does not seem to be connected to HJ’s ‘threat’ to JC. But it does set up the cut to the past which happens later in this episode.
@GB, the questions that HJ’s mum asks always puts the person answering the question in a awkward position.
@FF, yes, such a waste of paper and ink isn’t it? And such a hassle for the secretaries.
It is trust. How it is created.
@IB There’s a lot of glass to look through.
The most important is the one the Pros Team looks through as JC does the investigation.
Chief prosecutor takes the occasion to scold his troops. JC is now the top prosecutor in his eyes. LOL.
@FF, Mum lacks consideration or she thinks she’s entitled to tease and make things difficult for the young people because she’s one generation older than them.
U-Tak seems to be using reverse psychology on JC.
yes @GB thats the glass I meant. It is also a point of comic choir levity. pro lee who rolls his neck to get a comment out!
@WE So we get another parallel investigation one one side and HJ with YB doing a similar questioning at his office. This rounds up the evidence for us more fully.
oh, the intercut is between YB the snake trying to get HJ to distrust and the original three at the lakshore where HJ has to make a decision to live up to JCs trust.
There is many ways to do an interrogation scene: totally focused on the scene, with lot of tension, for example.
Here the method is rather short cuts in the room, the other prosecutors and lot of flashbacks related to the case.
@IB The thing about trusting the law… good advice as long as the law is not dirty. YB is out to do the dirty thing again. Generally WT’s advice to Do Kyoung to turn himself in is good but risky.
“passes before her eyes” the memory does literally at the traffic light, she sees herself and JC chasing Choi in his car
Lee, smart!, convinces (or corrupts?) suzy.
@WE, the combination of comments made by different prosecutors and the flashback to the talk between JC and Mr Choi are very informative.
Just because they cannot find another suspect, they become prejudiced against the one suspect they have.
Mr Choi has good advice to give. Let the seniors help you with more perspectives to help in the investigation so they understand the predicament JC is in and why he cannot claim that there’s a case against Do Kyoung.
The more this mess go, the more it feels like it need a big DREAM to find the truth.
YB is swaying HJ to make use of the media to pressure the prosecution to press charges on Do Hak Kyung. @GB, he is really such a snake.
@WE YB tries to get HJ to ruin the life of Do Kyoung to suit the requirements of the dead girl’s father. He is very clever about how to use media to serve his purposes to get public opinion totally against Do Kyoung. He would be villified without evidence.
So now the price of creating prejudice against DK if he’s innocent. HJ is being tempted by the snake to have no consideration for DK, in order to get a guilty verdict.
At 42:00, we have a thrilling scene with that brother-cop. And… The guy tries to commit suicide by walking in a river. Hum.. sorry, I swim well and would definitely never kill myself in such a river, LOL. Or maybe in a full raging torrent, but not in this kind of river.
2017, was that before cat-rides-roombah posts? after? would it have been too easy to guess?
@IB, @FF, in the scene with YB and and HJ, my mind kept saying, “You can’t possibly trust him!”. A snake is a good way to describe this character!
In the flash back to the time they rescued the Ajusshi, JC is the one using his head while HJ is the one who is led by emotion.
@FF, Yes, YB is really the tempter offering the easy but crooked way.
We cut to the flashback of kids JC and HJ chasing Ahjusshi. This is interesting. On the one hand HJ is asked to destroy DK, but here she and JC decide to save the Ahjusshi.
The price is pretty high and risky because the kids could drown as well.
@WE so this scene by the river has JC hitting the girl thinking she’s a boy.
She has to choose between letting the Ahjusshi die or save him. The argument is about the price ie regret or revenge.
Oh damn shit. Just when he says “we missed something”, it chains with a flashback of the cleaning machine. AAAWWESSOOOOMMMMMEEE !!!!!!!!!!!
I really trust JC after this episode, he proves to be the cautious but not hesitant one.
@FF, yes I’m rewatching that scene now and the argument. Of Couse we must save him… he’s like us… he can’t believe his brother killed our fathers…. he also wants to turn back time or believe it’s just a dream.
That helps HJ make her decision on what to do with the info that Snake gave her.
All of that is a recuperation for a love-feeling scene. JC won’t lie or betray the truth, just because it’s why the girl he loves would like.
As we are in a good feeling drama, she understands it. And even, makes she loves him even more.
@WE, yes the editing to show us the culprit who did the blood lines on the floor was very good.
@IB I really like how JC took HJ’s hand and very seriously tells her what he wanted to do but how he preferred to err on the side of caution and not prosecute DK when all the evidence only made sense if he was innocent.
the chief pro tugofwar w his secy!
@WE, JC was smart to tell HJ that he liked her at this stage to really highlight how he wanted to charge DK but could not do that to an innocent person. He does not go with his feelings but with the evidence. She has to respect that although she’s disappointed.
Despite her bad dreams, I like that she still makes the little tie-size for him to use to get her a ring. At the beginning of the show she would have cut off her finger, rather. She is braver and less impulsively reactive.
@IB, in the end the Chief Pros was the most prejudiced of the lot. Prosecutors just love to find people guilty!
It continues on the flashback scene. Young suzy is made to not wanting to save the brother-cop. And is about to end JC life too, because of some random reason, he’s not able to swim in this quiet river. Anyway, the point is she ends to save them.
Now, how it’s related to current events.
Im not sure yet. Maybe think someone is a culcript but take the decision to save life? Her reason for the brother to drown was bad, anyway.
@IB her dream of him giving her a ring took precedence to her bad dreams.
Also he’d just told her that he liked her and so the thought of a ring came naturally.
@WE, I took it that JC is able to swim, but is too small to move the weight of the brother-cop by himself. Of course HJ would be too small to move two dead weights by herself also….
Cliffhanger. We don’t know how&why we end here.
But, JC STABBED before to walk the avenue, in a dream.
@FF, @GB, #salteddust, @WE thanks for another great saturday morning (here!), Bye all.
@WE, yes that’s a good reason to intersperse the flashbacks. They are convinced that DK is guilty but decide to save him anyway. Just like HJ wanted Ahjusshi to just die because she wanted revenge of some kind, but decided to save him and JC.
In the present she decides not to add fuel to the fire by brining up something from DK’s past – it would just muddy the waters.
Bye @IB
@SD, disappointing. When I was his age, I was already trained to rescue drowing people in the sea. OK… I’m maybe an old thing, before the general snowflakization.
😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
@WE, yes, a great cliff-hanger with JC’s life in the balance. And mystery to boot! Poor HJ’s sweet dream has turned into a nightmare.
We also have Snake going to start making a mess by letting lose info to the press.
Goodbye @IB!
@WE LOL, our youths have been snow-flaked? Become soft and melt easily?
@IB, bye.
@GB, yup HJ is convinced by JC’s reasoning twice.
I’ll go watching next episode now.
Say goodbye to everyone here, and see you soon.
@FF, the first time he had to slap her out of her frozen state of mind intent only on hurting another person because she was in pain. But yes, his words finally got through to her both times and the words of the past about not regretting the decision got through into the present as well.
Bye @WE, enjoy the next episode!
Bye @WE
I think I’ll go back to watch the hard-to-watch and hard-to-let-go “You and Everything Else”.
@SD, have you reached the end of the episode yet?
Hi @GB, I have not but I just watched it last night so it is fresh in my mind.
