@GB,
I’m reposting your reviews out here in case others want to comment and join you. I had planned to watch this, but in view of Charlie Kirk’s assassination over a week ago and funeral on Sunday, I can’t bear to watch anything about death right now.
I wish there was some way in the spiritual realm that these people who have given up hope on living can “donate” or “bequeath” their unspent and wasted, dying breaths to those people who are desperate to prolong their life for even one more minute, hour, or day. Similar to a food bank. But instead of collecting food, time is gathered from those who don’t need it, then inventoried, stored, and re-distributed to those who want more time on earth to spend with their loved ones, make amends, forgive, and find peace.
That said, when I remind myself of the Easter promise, I get why we Christians don’t fear death; we return to Our Creator to live with Him in our permanent home forever.
Pax tibi.

You and Everything Else
@GB’s Review of the first 8 Episodes
This is one of those dramas where it’s best that viewers know in advance the amount of emotional investment needed. Once prepared, it’s a compelling watch: honest, painful but I cannot look away. I can guess what’s coming up, but I still want to watch for the resolution of the complicated relationships.
The actors of course are crucial in such a set up and they inhabit their characters magnificently while carrying the emotionally charged scenes immensely well. Since I end up feeling so much for their characters, I can’t imagine what an emotional toll it must have taken out of the actors themselves as well.
This series is rich with pathos, pensive but gentle. It seems on one hand that nothing is happening but with an avalanche of emotions I found myself quickly into 8 episodes with only a couple of breaks. I have yet to watch until the end, but it looks like this is a worthwhile watch for anyone who’s willing to walk the slow, deeply emotional road and sit with the characters’ pain and growth.
@GB’s Review of the final 7 Episodes
I completed the series within 2 days. It was haunting and beautiful, but not an easy watch. Among the themes, it explored the effects of suicide on the lives of those left behind. It looked at what friendship meant, and on how what we choose to think imprisons or frees us.
I liked that while there was so much going on emotionally, there was very little if any melodrama: nothing too over-the-top. Instead we were given characters that were more real, reasonable and true-to-life; who were relatable, and whose motives we could understand. There were no villains, just hostages to fortune.
Although it was a serious show, dealing with darker topics and far from light, it did not feel onerous or depressing. It treated difficult topics with dignity and got me thinking long and hard in its aftermath. I’m glad I watched it, and might even watch it again.
Hi @pkml3, thanks for a thread. This is somewhere we can come to when something more comes to mind after that emotion-filled, thought provoking show.
You’re welcome, @GB.
Happy belated birthday, @GB 🥳🎉🎈🎂
Love your review! Didn’t spoil my watching coz I just finished it this week… took me long enough, right?
Hello November already 🍂. Thank you for this thread @Pm. Like you I postponed watching this show coz I wasn’t ready coz I was expecting sadness and all the feels … I also continue to grieve Charlie Kirk’s passing. 💔
****spoiler alert ‼️
This drama was definitely more than I expected – all the acting from the leads are all compelling … even though the love story is in the past, I was hoping it will be in the present and future. I would like to think they were reunited in the end haha
And the reveal about the brother’s death? Omg did not see that coming
I love how the main characters somehow affected each other’s lives in their career decisions and how the brother somehow connects them all esp after he passed.
I love the role of photography /cameras in this show and that quote of how Taking photographs is like collecting time, essentially … capture beautiful moments. This show delivered this heart. I love taking pictures and journaling – and I love how both of them wrote their own takes in their friendship – and how they came to know how much they really mean to each other after all the jealousy and fears and hate
I know this show is about the friendship but so many happened in between and when you watch the ending… makes you wonder what would have happened if they began how they ended… the ending is so bittersweet … and Switzerland… makes me wanna die there, too but we don’t get to choose when we die… but definitely makes you think about how you’re pursuing your current relationships and living in the moment.
The Switzerland part brings you in to see how humane and beautiful it is vs just assisted suicide. Definitely so different from how her lovedones died …
Their friendship was of rivalry kind coz they loved each other so much, they ended up hating each other so much and in the end they just accepted each other for what it was… it was a love-hate relationship that kept them apart until the most crucial moment – 💔 ugh
So heart wrenching and they delivered this brilliantly
Thank you @HK_Lady! I trust that you’re well. It’s great that you’ve finished this series and found it well worth your time.
I know we face all kinds of difficulties in friendship, but these 2 main characters’ relationship really takes the cake. So much to enjoy and so much to forgive. I’m glad in the end, they had the means to celebrate life and their friendship.
@GB you’re welcome 🎉 hope you get to continue the celebration
I’m mainly excited becoz God willing, I will be in Japan in 12 days and in South Korea the week of Thanksgiving 🇯🇵🇰🇷 ‼️ 🙏🏽 my first time in both countries. Excited to live out my KDrama dreams haha
I like your sentiment about their friendship- and the role of forgiveness in the end. Don’t we all need mercy and grace ✝️💟
Who’s watching the baseball World Series game 7 in Toronto??? Cliffhanger nail-biting stress-inducing final game – it’s do or die! Go Dodgers‼️
